Try clearing the cache. Settings > Privacy and security > Clear cache
Or clear data and cache from settings, applications

Funny you should say this. My stock rooted rom has started doing the same over the last couple of days on my gt-8020.

Me too
The stock browser on my GT-N8020 keeps exiting and I have restart it. Irritating.
Possible link to issue.
I've noticed sluggish behavior and even crashes with the stock browser on my stock Note GT-N8013 after the last firmware update. But what I've noticed causes my issues is the Twitter app. I've been able to replicate this too. Simply opening the Twitter app or opening a link within the app will cause the browser to be slow, close, or crash. However if access Twitter using the web, I don't have any of those issues. I don't know if the Twitter app is the actual culprit or if it's some other underlying issue, but for me avoiding the Twitter app has worked.
Same. Stock browser has started to crashe several times a day. n8000/4.1.2
For example: if i go to the site android. com and browse devices there, the browser jams and i get a message to close the application or wait. On some other pages the browser just disappears, screen goes black for a sec and i get the homescreen..

got the new update to xxcmf1 but it didnt fix these crashing problems.
1) android.com -> browse devices => stock browser freezes totally. to get the browser works again i have to close the browser and end the application from memory
2) stock browser shutts off several times a day now more than before that new update and it gives no message. when opening the browser again, it opens the windows which were open before crashing.
this is becoming annoying...

Hi.
Major issues with Market. Nothing downloading. Just the bar and starting download message.
Tried force stop, cache cleaning, reboots. No joy.
Ideas?
After new FB and Twitter apps.

Same problem with galaxy s, instaling app for 3 days now . can't stopit.
i've had this issue quite a bit on my incredible. usually cures itself by switching from wifi to 3g or the other way around. whichever you're on right now, try the other one.
Done that Mike. No change.

Go to applications market and uninstall updates.
Works fine here....
No updates to uninstall for the Market. Came as is.
I switched from Dinc to Droid X recently and encountered this problem pretty much out of the box. I believe I ended up clearing cache or data from the Gmail application and then Market downloads started to work correctly.
I just went to update an app that i have and Market Force Closed.
still downloaded ok though
I have a funny feeling this was an all around Android Market issue for many people... I had it too but now it seems to have cleared up...
You could try Titanium backup and the clear data option after tapping the market app.
It worked for me
my fix for this exact same problem (as described in the OP's first post) was to factory reset my phone (galaxy s) and log in using the @googlemail.com extension to my google email address instead of the usual @gmail.com
if that makes sense.. search google for a few other threads floating around with people who solved their market download "stalling" with this fix..
might be worth a try for you anyway.
Im on CM7 Nightlies, and I've been noticing this issue where a lot of the times, the market app downloads but doens't install. If i look at the progress bar in the notifications, it is moving and as soon as it reaches 100%, the item disappears.
If i look into the market, the app still says "Starting Download". If i go inside that app, it is as iff i'm not downloading it at all and there is only the button to re-download it.
anyone else noticing the same issue also?
I've experienced this a lot with RC2 but have had ongoing market downloading problems with virtually all custom ROMs going back to my Hero. The last 2 days have been fine though and everything downloads eventually, making me think it is Google related to some extent.

Sometimes when surfing the web on my phone I end up either having the play store open with a suggested app or have the page I was starting to read redirected to another site informing me that my device is slow or a similar message.
I'm increasingly seeing these on different Android devices: My Nexus 5, my mothers S4 Mini and even my father owning a S3 sees these kind of adverts every now and again.
Tonight while browsing an XDA article, I was redirected to another page telling me that my phone was running slow. So I closed the tab, and tried to go read XDA once again, and again I'm redirected to this dodgy page asking me to download software. It appeared to do this until I cleared my cache, cookies etc. Was this a browser hijack!? I have scanned my N5 with Malwarebytes to be sure nothing was actually saved to my device and it came up clean.
I am using Stock 4.4.2, not even rooted. I was using Dolphin browser while browsing XDA when this occurred. My question is: how can I prevent this from occurring again? I am fairly sure my phone isn't home to any malware as I always scrutinise apps and their permissions prior to installation.

Hmm. I have no idea what Dolphin does as far keeping up with browser exploits and how well it does as far as security related stuff.
What I use is Firefox with http://noscript.net/nsa/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/ (but mobile version).
Once when I was malware hunting shady sites I did get a different result when checking said sites with my phone (they have some malware distribution sites smart enough to check the browser's User Agent to see what the person is using). Basically it started showing me a scare-ware sort of "Scan now to fix virus!" sort of app, which I then just uploaded to VirusTotal (they share the findings with AV providers).
Specially when im on XDA Developer with Boat Browser sometimes automatic open PlayStoreApp with Cleanmaster or something.
Often popup like Whatsapps beeing expired,
u got virus popup !!??
some strange behavior !!
only on XDA Developer Side !?
Any solution !?
Just like the title says, when I select a default app i.e. chrome for Web links or the YouTube app for opening YouTube videos, it won't stay set even though I select "always" when it pops up to select which app to use. I have even gone into the default applications settings and cleared it so I can select it again and that will work for a short while. I never had this issue on KitKat it only started when I switched to a Lollipop ROM (specifically MOAR 6.1). I have reflashed the ROM several times and even tried the stock OA6 build but the issue persists. Is this something others are experiencing on Lollipop or is it just me?

+1 Same here on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - N900W8 running stock Lollipop 5.0. Anyone find a solution?
The only thing that helps at all that I've found is freezing the other apps that are listed when this happens. This works for basic web links but anything that will open in a specific app but could also be opened in a web browser will do the same thing every time.

Hi I am currently using Nexus 6
Since few days ago when I was web surfing, chrome kept freezing and crashing.
I cleared all data, history and cache of chrome. Moreover, I re installed Chrome as well.
However, i couldn't solver the problem.
I thought it might be the problem of chrome, so I tried to use different web browser such as firefox and opera.
But still the problem remains.
The name of unresponsive script is voken eyereturn com
How can I deal with this problem?
Hi
It might b possible that ,one of the sites you are visiting is using eyeturn . which is using that script.
One of the ways to do is ,root your phone and install Adblocker like ad away
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753
Otherwise ,you will have to stop using an app/ or visit that website which downloads that script.
You can try using Nexus 6 Q/A section for better support in this regard

Good day !
