I find it hard to believe that this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285431) didn't pop up in the possibly related threads box when typing in a title for this post...
Of course it didn't. You posted from your phone. Search first before posting.

That is why the search function exists. Plus, it's still on the first page of the forum...no excuse.
Not only that, but the author of that article at Android Geeks needs to apologize for not giving credit where credit is do. Even if the original poster of the method here at XDA didn't come up with it (Maybe they did, I don't know) it should have still given a citation to the XDA thread.

And your intensions are good, but how many times does it need posted? especially when the original post is still on the front page. This forum has the search rule for a reason. Can you imagine if nobody took any time to look or search and just came here to post stuff over and over again?

Kernel for use with extended battery

I was wondering if it takes a special kernel to use an extended battery. I have my Evo flashed to CricKet and am using Jiminy IV for the rom, I bought a generic 3500ma battery and cant get it to charge. It is a brand new battery. My phone is rooted and nand unlocked. Anyone have any ideas ir suggestions?
Thanks
Sent from my Evo using XDA App
As far as I know there is no special kernel needed. You sure the cord is good? If so try rebooting and see if that does the trick. If not battery may not be good

Try this one. It's what I use.

My cord is fine. It works great with my stock battery.
As far as that link, it took me to a forum but not to a post or kernel.

Holy crap... seriously man?
I know you dont have any post besides this so ill be gentle
BUT
This is the development forum. Any and akk questions should go in the Q/A section. I know what your thinking already " well, this is a question for a DEVELOPER" or "this is a question ABOUT DEVELOPMENT" and unfortunately your logic is flawed.
Before for you post in the development forum, just ask yourself these questions. "What did i develop?" "What work am i sharing with the community?" If you cant answer those than you are in the wrong place and this place is generally pretty brutal about this subject.
Apparently I am missing something. Sorry for my ignorance

New member here!
Quick question: Is there a way to turn the search button action in to 'recent apps'? With any possible ICS ROM. I know I can access it by long-pressing the home button, but I would find replacing search for recent apps more convenient as I switch between all my apps more than search.
Thanks for the hard work!

If I'm not mistaken u have to have a certain number of posts before posting in dev section. I made a thread about this and there is a way, I still haven't found out the way to do it but u can and it is possible.

Yes it does belong in Q&A, but I mean themes is better than putting it in development. Don't be an ass/troll to the new guy. If you can't answer his question or at least attempt, you don't have to reply. The mods can handle the misplaced posts (even though they probably tire of it).

That's my bad I did mean to put it in the q and a. Mods can remove. I think you just need to flash the boot.IMG and the normal stock in Odin. Ha

AFAIK using Odin to go back to stock returns everything back to stock including bootloader. Or at least that's what I've read

No one, really?

At least one decent soul could have replied whether options detaching spen was still working for them after 4.1.2 update. A simple "Yes it works, you have a problem", or "no it is a common problem" would have suffice. Is it that difficult to reply to an Android friend?
It works.

Mine is rooted & bone stock. Your problem is not indicative of bad firmware. It is just a fluke, sucks to be you(j/k), maybe
All you most likely had to do was a factory reset. Custom roms are fine, but I actually like how this stock firmware runs.
