I have an HTC Sensation XL. I have unlocked the bootloader and s-off.
My current cid is HTC_038. I am unable to get a ruu reddymede rom for it.
I downloaded RUU_Runnymede_hTC_Asia_India_1.24.720.2_R_Radio_20.5102.30.0822_3822.11.10.30_M_release_232317_signed but the setup seems to have a problem. I cudnt find another version of RUU_Runnymede_hTC_Asia_India and therefore i decided to change my cid.
I used the commands 'fastboot oem writecid 11111111'
it showed me the following error
'... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!'
i am using a custom rom. i really want to install the RUU stock rom. Please help me.
The following details are displayed when i connect my phone in fastboot

Hi! This is my first post.
I have a HTC Sensation 4G and I cannot update the firmware.
My CID PG5811000
and MID BM___001
I read the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21481563 And I got the same problem like the user AlphaX
But when I reboot my HTC to try to install I got a wrong MID message.
Any ideas?
Send HTC a mail with your problem to get a update any time.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
would HTC help people who unlock the phone by themself?
I have S-Off and installed Insert Coin 4.06 Android 4.0.1
I tried to get SuperCID and it doesn't change.
Any ideas?
BTW. I wrote to HTC giving my serial number, CID and MID.
When I turn on my phone into Fastboot mode I got the next information
*** LOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OO RL
HBOOT-1.23.0000
RADIO-10.12.9007.21_2M
eMMC-boot
So, the "LOCKED" at the beginning loks weird.
Each time I enter to fastboot, try to look for a PG58 file
I'm still looking at google (and falling on xda forums )
But any help will be welcomed
Hi,
You can add your CID to the Firmware.
Try this:
1. Check your CID using fastboot getvar cid and MID using fastboot getvar mid or fastboot getvar cid
2a. If your CID and MID are supported by default, navigate to point 3.
2b. If your CID or MID is not supported by default, do this: (you do it at your own risk)
2c. Open PG58IMG.zip (don't extract it)
2d. Open android-info.txt in text editor
2e. Add your cidnum: <your CID> or modelid: <your MID> to the list, save file and close archive
3. Place PG58IMG.zip on your SD card
4. Boot your device holding power button + vol down button
5. Follow instructions on the screen
I hope it works
"LOCKED" means:
You're locked out of some of the most advanced fastboot commands. But that's it.
You still have S-Off. ADB will still work. You can flash ROM's.
Dav375
I got SuperCID!!!!
using fastboot I did it
./fastboot-mac oem writecid 11111111
Then I download the firmware from http://db.tt/EjYujYj7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618&page=96) and rebooting my HTC Sensation the update was successful!!!!
Now I hope to install new ROMs with ICS.
Hi, i need some aid in geting as close to stock as possible, to safely use the OTA to ICS or just so.
If you can't aid or just feel too good for it please refrain to post in here, also i searched the forum and didn't found/understanded how to do this better so dont throw some links in here.
Please do explain step by step if possible.

When i try to complete RUU i get ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR.
I want to get back to original, even if it removes root.
Any advice on how to resolve this, or to keep my phone safe is welcome. TY

Reboot the phone in the bootloader (fastboot usb) and re-run the RUU from there.
Hope it helps.
Update!
i locked back the boot manager with "fastboot oem lock" (OK!) >> i updated with the aforementioned RUU (OK!) >> i unlocked the boot manager again with "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
anyone has an idea how to get s-off? clean, without unlocking again
@Pr0tectiveG0ggles
if you unlocked boot loader with htc dev tool then i dont know of a way to make it look as if you didn't unlock bootloader at all ( seems possible if you used Revolutionary)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 (step 1)
I can't use revolutionary tool with hboot 1.23!

Relock boot loader then re-run RUU. The exe will not run on the unlocked bootloader.

get super CID first.. (i.e. write your CID to 11111111)
It will bypass scanning that avoids errors... here is the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
then try flashing the RUU from the boot-loader..
(WARNING: this procedure may brick your phone)

Solved.
2 Questions
1. Where did you get the RUU from ?
2. HTC__032 is for Eastern Europe. Do you still have EE fonts, dictionaries etc. ?
Few days ago i had installed ICS 4.0.3 via changing cid (nordic countries) to htc_y13. Now.... my phone have troubles with this ics(i am disappointed), and i want to downgrade back 2.3.4 , but there is a problem. I can`t modify cid back to 111111(something like that) so no downgrade.
Any idea is welcome! (sorry for my bad english)
If you want supercid you need eight 1 (11111111) set via fastboot.
"Fastboot oem writecid 11111111" or "Fastboot oem writecid HTC_Y13" if you want to return to stock norway cid.
"Fastboot reboot-bootloader" anche check with "fastboot getvar cid"
yes..... tried this
he refuse to write fastboot oem writecid 11111111
have you an S-ON phone?
yes ... i need to s-off for install ARHD
//revolutionary not working with hboot 1.27.000 .... i want downgrade to 2.3.4(hboot 1.17.000) for turn s-off
I think you need to flash an official RUU compatible with your CID first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
yes yes yes ...... actually i have 1.27.000 hboot version ... and is not working with revoltuionary
Put your phone in fastboot usb and flash an appropriate RUU.

@Gho57 give me a rom for HTC_Y13 please
You're S-ON so you can't change anything. Until the official ICS RUU comes out you're kinda stuck

not completely true
there will be a guide on how to downgrade to a lower version hboot soon in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351
similar to how evo3d people got to downgrade here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695
so
when ICS RUU come out .... it will have cid 111111111 ? or what ?
No. What Super CID allows is to flash ANY ROM on ANY phone regardless of region
so i can`t do anything to be s-off ?
this is the error
No, as nothing can S-OFF the 1.27 HBOOT (yet)
Hey, I have a Rogers HTC One X and I've installed ViperXL 4.2 and recently it's been turning off the Data and i've been getting random restarts. I read around and it seems the problem is the radio and the way to fix it is to get S-Off. I followed a few tutorials and they've all ended in errors.
It seems like my phone has the Original CID, yet I can't change it even though the bootloader is unlocked.
I followed this Tut :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155071
Tried this method for CID :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212737
Any Ideas?
Try Rumrunner s-off instead, you don't need SuperCID for that.
Once you have s-off you can easily change your CID with a fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Then you'll be able to flash the 2.15 firmware package.

Hi,
I'm trying to update my HTC Desire S to the official Android 4.0 (HTCDev). When I'm trying to install it through RUU, it won't go past the 'Sending' part. My phone shows the grey HTC logo but that's it.
I tried 2 different PC's, different USB-ports... I installed all drivers (installed HTC Sync) but it's still not working.

What's wrong?
You could try flashing it manually. Then fastboot will actually talk to you as to what it's doing so that we can see where exactly things hang up.
Extract the rom.zip from the RUU (run the RUU, look in your temp folders, find the rom.zip, drag it someplace safe), then run the following fastboot commands:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
It should take approximately three minutes to upload the zip to the phone.
Be sure to post the output of the commands here, and note that while I've successfully done this once on my phone, I can't make any guarantees that this will work out just fine on your phone. (That said, I expect no problems.)
(should it actually succeed this time around, you can reboot your phone using 'fastboot reboot' and enjoy your new ROM)
Note, however, that the official ICS RUU has some bugs and you'll have to root your device to fix them. This means unlocking through htcdev. It is recommended that you downgrade and S-OFF while you still can, and then flash a fixed custom ICS ROM instead of using the official RUU.
Do you have right RUU? First check CID of phone then find RUU that match your CID.Check guides here.Be careful RUU change all in your phone and that mean radio hboot ril and system.
If you don't have warranty anymore you can unlock it and do whatever you want with guides here on XDA.
