ANY case will make make it hard to mount. the there is NO tolerance for any type of case. If you have a case you may want to look at the universal one that clamp the sides.

This dock works fine with the Trident Kraken on my phone. The Kraken and the Otterbox Defender are probably the two thickest cases on the market so if you want one which works with any case get it:

...there's another thread in here on the features. I am really pleased with mine.

with this mount, you cant fit a case on it. If you take a look with the phone installed there is no way a case can fit in it. You may have a slightly different model of it

The lower arms are adjustable. This allows them to extend far enough for the lip to sit in front of the phone with the Kraken case on it. The top arm has plenty of length to clamp the phone in the Kraken case.
I've been driving with the phone in it's Kraken case secured in this window mount for the past week. I realize it's more expensive than the $8.00 mount on ebay but I think if you can afford this phone and need a windshield mount you can probably spend a few extra $$ for a better mount.

i took a video on my way into work this morning on a really crappy road. and my suspension is set Medium.

your mount is adjustable. the one that i posted is not. just depends on each persons need. Not sure if yours does but this one has a cutout for flash and camera if you want to take a video while drive. A important feature for me.

updated with a video test.

looks like a decent option, I have my Sprint branded mount that I have from when I had my EVO lte, it worked great for my S3 and now my S4 :good: very similar to this mount actually, I did have to remove the charge port though

bump, i saw a thread about mounts

I did the exact same thing. I bought a carbon effect one from ebay (for next to nothing) to see how it looked, felt, protected the phone etc. and when it arrived, i was pretty happy. It looked decent enough and seemed to be of reasonable quality for the price so i put my phone in (which seemed to require an abnormal amount of effort) and then it appeared that the case was a little too tight. I then spent the next 20 minutes attempting to get my DHD out of it and when i finally did the imitation leather/material was starting to tear so i threw it away.
I also decided to buy myself a nice cheap Desire S style silicone/gel case from ebay (once again, for next to nothing) and i couldn't be happier! It offers more than ample protection and it looks great. So i'd advise that if you're on a budget that you stick to a gel case, unless you want to spend much more money on a higher quality leather flip case.
I think I've bought the same carbon case. It's a pain in the butt to get off lol
I purchased my case from Ebay uk the Seller username is phone_giants and the item is listed as"HTC DESIRE HD MOBILE PHONE LEATHER CASE COVER POUCH" hope this is useful.
PDair case
I've used PDair on both my Streak and Inspire, good quality and selection.
Me too, ideal for attaching to your belt as well as it comes with a belt clip, also have the htc one which I use to put into my shirt pocket, comes with a pull cord to pull it out of the case and protects the phone in your pocket/bag etc
I was quite rightly introduced (by the largest Vegan site on the planet) to the plight of animals when it comes to the meat and leather industry. So you might want to consider a TPU case or something else, especially after seeing these videos (i made a quick page).
I use a TPU case and it's been great alongside a separate sleeve. Thankfully there are many other options out there too.

Hi there!
I purchased this:
http://www.pielframa.com/htc-desire-hd-imagnum-cases.htm
The good:
Excellent general fit, durability and overall protection.
In a pinch the lid can double as a kickstand although within a rather narrow angle span.

The bad:
The fit around the micro usb port is a tad too tight but useable.
The ugly:
85€ + 15€ delivery to Greenland
Noreve looks cheaper but I have no experience with their products.

Regards ELO
All in all it´s the best case i ever had.
Oh - BTW. The belt clip looks decent enough but i never use it. I just stick the whole thing in a pocket somewhere. Pants usually.

Atrix 2 Otterbox case and car mount!

Ok i love Otterbox cases. I have used them with all of my phones for years. What i don't like is the fact that they don't have a car dock for use with the case...........So i made one.
I had to contact Otterbox when i broke the clip on my holster. They sent me 2 for free! My wheels got to turning and i had an old windshield mount for a TomTom gps.
I mounted the old holster to the old gps mount. I drilled holes in the holster so that the camera will work while in the mount and so it can be charged. Not the prettiest mount but it works well!

Nice. I'm going to be doing something similar, shortly, with an Atrix 2 Defender holster.
I picked up one of these to use as the base, though...
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Fit-International-NS-56-08-G3-Specific-2008-2010/dp/B002OHD8NI
Couple that with an aftermarket Bluetooth module that I'm going to install, and a dash-mounted USB port for charging, and I should be able to keep the wires to a minimum.
Any advice on cutting the holster? I've got an old Dremel that I intend to use, and my plan is to cut away the middle section of the holster's bottom, so I have easier access to my microUSB port.
Regards,
Corporate Dog
cool
But the defender case is too bulky to fit in the "phone" pocket of my many cargo pants/jeans/shorts.
So I just use this with my Otterbox Commuter Case.

It works quite well. It's been mounted to the windshield of my truck for 2 weeks now, and is still gripping strong. I think it'd work w/ just about any smart phone. I'm thinking of getting 1 for my wifes car, for when I'm driving. They're not expensive.

From what i can tell the phones are very similar in size. I am going to grab the bike mount from this site and take my chances. They all use the same piece to hold the phone, so I will update this post with my findings.

Won't fit. I have Defenders for both the original and the Atrix 2 and even checked. Atrix 2 has a larger screen size and therefore needs a bigger case than those custom designed for the original.

i found my old slipgrip mount that was built for the htc desire hd with the otterbox defender. It fits the atrix 2 with its otterbox defender perfectly.
I love these things because they have so many mounting options (clamps, bike mounts, suction cups ect.

nuvi 200 clip works great with skyrocket

I have discovered the best car mount for my skyrocket ... a Garmin nuvi 200 series mount works awesome. I have the SGP Neo Hybrid case on my phone and it just snaps right in to the mount.... it doesn't move or slide around no matter if I have the phone vertical or horizontal.
Interesting. Got any pics?
I'm in middle of vacation right now..I'll get some pics up when I get back. Loving it so far.... I can even video my driving ... navigation is great ... see who's call while wearing a Bluetooth headset.
Just tried it. It works well.

I've been using this set up for quite a while. It's perfect with the TPU case. It snaps and very steady. I use it with Garmin friction mount that I bought from Amazon for $13. Pretty cool set up I may add.

For the mount:
http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Fricti...HFOS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1338393180&sr=8-5
You can get the bracket from ebay for $2. Search for Nuvi 250 bracket.

I have that same mount and yes it's the right size for the Skyrocket with a TPU case. I don't use it only because I can't get the angle right in my car with the suction mount I have. I ended up buying a RAM mount.
buying one of these, hopefully its a 100% perfect match to the original ones...

Here's a pic..
good fit with pop case
This is very snug with a pop case - love it.
Has anyone tried it with a seidio surface case? I think it should be about the same thickness as the TPU or Pop case but I'd like to make sure.
**EDIT**
Just to let people know, this works great with the Seidio Surface case.

Toughest case?

Hey all,
I just ordered a Compact and am looking forward to it a lot (my current phone is a Samsung Galaxy 4G so this is going to be a huge huge upgrade).
I've had an OtterBox case on my Galaxy but OtterBox doesn't make Sony cases. Can any of you recommend a really really tough case for the Compact? To me, looks are far less important than making sure the case doesn't get broken.
I've also been looking for the most protective case which would look and _protect_ like the otterbox or griffin cases. The most closest thing i found was the case-mate tough case. There are some pics somewhere in this forum, just google it.
I can think of a few:
1. Incipio DualPro
2. Case-Mate Tough/Tough Naked
3. Elecom Heavy Duty Zero Shock
4. Ringke Fusion
But not sure whether these cases have opening for the magnetic port.
Thanks! That gives me a good start.
I've decided on the Case-Mate (not through a very scientific process, just that it's available and looks like similar construction to the Otterbox). One thing to note (for anyone viewing this thread later) is that apparently it does NOT have an opening for the magnetic charging port.
have a look on devilcase... not actually supertough but a good compromise!
This is my case-mate
Few days ago i got CASE-MATE BLACK TOUGH HARD CASE from eBay http://www.ebay.ie/itm/201059557589?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
case is very good, only i had to cut hole for magnetic charging port the case is really worth its price, fits perfectly

How did you managed to cut out the dock connector like that?
I've also thought about that, but last time I tried to modify a Case Mate tough case on my Galaxy I9100 it wasn't that smooth like yours.
What kind of knife or device did you used for it?

Yep just what I thought (I modded my I9100 case with this kind of knife too)
So I need to be more careful to make it smooth like yours.
I will buy the phone this week, and will get the case shipment about next week. After moddig I will post some pics about it

I can't really imagine how you started from the inside
Can you explain? And after i did the cutout did you used any material to smoothen the edges?
start cut from inside like in this pic start cutting at the fold edge, its help, Cut slowly and several times slide your knife across the cut line.
the red line is NOT a line of cutting its shows only the edge on which I cut.

I see now thanks.
Well the inner side will be the easier one as it's more rubberish. I think I will spend more time on the outer side to make it nice.
Is there any way or trick to make the hole measuring easier or you just simple marked it somehow ?
Has anyone come across a ruggedized case like these for these ones for the z1?

Custom Holster For Honor X2 and TPU Case

Heres my latest creation with a thift store find (I don't know what the black thing was made for but it was almost the same size as the phone and it was $.78), a needle and thread, and a laptop bag strap to make the holster. I'm going to stetch one more piece at bottom on both sides.

Looks nicely done! I will usually carry mine in a waist pouch but that's obviously only viable during the weekends. Fortunately the X2 still fits in my pant's back pocket (when I'm walking) and the front pocket (when I needed to sit down).

I bought one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q7MFAKU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00
Its a bit of a tight fit when you first get it, but it really only needs an extra millimeter or two of width to make it perfect. I took mine to my local shoe repair guy who stretched it for me, and now it's perfect! It's a great case too. The fact that it can swivel and come off the belt clip has turned out to be really important since the phone is so big.

Well, It's pretty tight, but it loosens up with use, and you could probably get a tpu on in it if you stretch it a bit more.

I'll give it a shot. I like having backups for everything in my arsenal for the phone just incase something breaks. I bought a lcd screen and keeping it on the shelf in the event I break it. $56.00 dollars for it on aliexpress, you can't go wrong for the phone for that price. I'd rather fix it myself, then send it back to china and wait 2-3 months or get it back at all.
