This phone caught my eye when this YouTuber, Mayiandjay, posted a review about the phone.

I've just dhgate had good and bad. Got 2 tablets from there one worked the other didn't. Had to pay to send it back
That and the note 3 N9002 looks good from fastcardtech. Problem being heard loads of stories that they breakdown after a couple of months.
Might be worth the risk. I'd like to know if it's worth getting coz I would be intrested in them

I am a noob and have always questioned devices from retailers like dhgate. Would a phone like this be able to be activated on the ting network or one similar? Do they have any kind of development community like the Samsung Note 3 would have?

They are very popular. It's just a big risk. On paper they sound excellent.
I do want the Note 3 N9002 version from HDC it's only going to cost £130 with shipping. It's hard to tell the difference plus for what it is, I think it's worth it but you pay peanuts and get monkeys.
Anyone know where I can find more info on here. Done a search and it brings up a few but not user reviews and where the best and safest place to buy them from.
Dhgate is fine depending on the seller. They no longer use paypal so I wouldn't like to use it without that protection. It's not Dhgate they hold the payment till you confirm you have them and happy

I'm not sure though, why not just buy the Note 3 N9006 from HDC too? ROM looks abit more faster, air control stylus thingy works too from what i see from the video. Also, if there are any breakdowns of the CLONE note 3, just simply buy the parts from the official Samsung Note 3 to the CLONE ones...

I got mine from ibaby888, shipped to Singapore within a week. I choose to shipped by DHL, pay $10 more. Everything is good except the GPS does not really work. It is able to detect satellite but unable to have lock. Also I'm unable to get apps install in microSD. Using AppMgr III or AppMonster Pro, the move storage selection are "move to phone" or "move to internal storage". Unfortunately in this phone internal storage and phone storage are the same. ES File Explorer detect phone storage as SDCARD0 and microSD as SDCARD1. I have not find the way to install app to SDCARD1 yet.

Any ROM for this device? I got mine from ibaby888, MTK6589, 1gb RAM, 8GB Storage, I downloaded a ROM from Needrom.com (N9006 ROM) but semi-bricked my device, luckily had a backup from the original ROM and have restored it, somebody knows any ROM working? Thanks (and sorry for my English)

Hello,
I bought one of those phones. it was working well but than I cracked my screen - digitizer and lcd as well. Can somebody help me to solve that? Do somebody has a hdc note 3 for parts with working lcd and digitizer? I would buy it if somebody has. Or if somebody knows where to buy those than please conact me. I bought a GT- N9002 Note3 in Aliexpress this is the link to the description :

Since I bought him never kayaked the GPS , I followed all the tutorials that exist for MTK GPS equipment but there was no case.

Wandering through some forums and the tired horse , I found that someone said that if you added a command line to build.prop file solved the problem. To my surprise, after doing cell did not start over . The phone freeze during startup logo in S ***** G. What if you could do was go to Stock Recovery of Factory Mode Android and that 's all in Chinese and apparently useless. From Stock Recovery I tried to do the wipes , but nothing happened , because the problem was not corrupt user data but in the operating system .

Apparently the only solution was Reflash the Rom . I followed the tutorials to the letter as I pose the forums. Tirelessly searched for a rom that matches the specs of my phone but never found :

If agreed the processor and ram , did not match the internal memory or the screen resolution , and so on.

The SP Flash Tool Tools threw me the following error ERROR " S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL ( 4032 ) " . . . In some forums they said it was because it was the wrong Rom . After downloading like 20 different there was one that began to flash, but the phone did not turn on anymore, I still recognized when I plug the drivers to load another ROM . I tried to contact the seller to see if Aliexpress can guide me as to flash the rom , but 10 days ago I do not answer .

At the end of sale aliexpress link I left , says the phone was manufactured by " No.1" although the theory says that HDC and NO.1 are different teams. I tried to flash the rom with the official team NO.1 I found on the page but not needrom flashes . Load scatter file on sp flash tool , button "download" , plug in the computer without the battery and pressed the vol + button. Load the red bar up to 100% and then get the error 4032 . Leave a screenshot for better understanding . As recommended forums also tried from the Firmware > Update button and here was a problem . Only a rom managed to make the process to the end, that is:

In theory, it was support for multiple computers clones of HDC . . S6 - S4 and N9002 . The surprise is that when finished the process and made the green circle but the phone did not turn on , or the recovery mode or the factory. If I put the battery and the charger plug in , turn on and the screen goes gray with a horizontal lines that move. If I unplug it dies again. When I plug the PC recognizes the drivers preloaders smoothly, so I conclude that it can continue flashing with other rom that will go .

The funny thing is that all roms come down from needrom claiming to be for MTK6589T processors come with the scatter file whose name MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc . . . and scatter that came with the only rom that could be had as flash MT6589T_Android_scatter_emmc name . No if you have something to do , I say from my ignorance.

Hi i am seriously thinking about getting this phone myself and owned a clone of the note 2. I now have the real thing but my clone is still going strong albeit with a cracked screen ( Only downside is you can repair them)

the air command seems to not work. when i extract the pen the air command popup not showing. Is there some roms that can be enable this feature?
And how many official roms can be found?? actully i only found the MI5(the stock one i think)

My model is almost the same, only the build number is a little different on mine, it called: JSS15J.N9006ZCUBMJ3
On mine the pen / air command works fine - the shortcut menu appears.

I guess this is the Note 3 clone post (only one!?!) so I'll ask my questions here! My phone is similar, but I think we'll all have a hard time finding "real" specs as you will soon see...
Have any of the rest of you tried any benchmarking/info apps to find out your real CPU/GPU/RAM specs yet?
My phone came with a (locked) version of Antutu that I think was hacked to show better scores and info. I rooted the phone (with Framaroot) and deleted the old version, installed a new version from the Play Store, and installed CPU Identifier. Antutu still miss-read the specs, but CPU Identifier gave a more realistic picture. (but not perfect)

Do any of you know an app that can show how much RAM this device actually has?
The processor seems to have confused Antutu and CPU Identifier as well since Antutu thinks its a quad-core Snapdragon, and CPU Identifier thinks its a dual-core MediaTek processor but says that the GPU is incorrect for the model it thinks it is.
I guess it will be a while before we know if any custom rom will work on these phones, but it would be nice to be able to use Xposed. I'm a little worried about trying it, but I'll probably get impatient soon and try it. It would be nice to at least know what rom is actually on it, as I think that info has been faked as well. I've tried to see if I can get any better info from the factory mode menu, (power + vol. down while booting), but it's all in Chinese: imgur.com/ivDFE4s or see "screencrap.png" below. Does anyone know what it says or how to change it to English?

Okay, now the good news:
-It's actually a good phone for the price! I payed the equivalent of around $110 for it last weekend.
-The screen is bright and responsive, similar to the videos in this thread.
-The back of the case is branded like Mayiandjay's.
-The S pen is similar to the other pens. It looks almost exactly like the Samsung, with a fake button on it. The S pen menu only appears when you take the pen out, and I don't think the menu can be moved around the screen.
-It had the same desktop layout as the videos, but I think I lost some of that (and apps?!?) when I did a factory reset from the settings menu. I lost the Samsung boot up screen, (now it's an Android ani), and I don't seem to have the remote control app.
-The air gesture worked well (a bit better than s7yler's), and smart screen paused movies when I looked away.
-Multi window didn't work, but there is an app dock tab on the left side of the screen.
-It seems to get good signal and 3g, but I don't know about 4g. (we don't have that here)
-It is USB 2 with the fake USB 3 ports like the others.
-The Play Store is in the Galaxy Plus Icon/menu
-The resolution isn't what Antutu reports (1080x1920!) but I think CPU Identfier's 540x960 is correct, or it might be a bit better.
-The camera is only 8 megapixels, but that's okay, I don't take many pictures.
-While I don't think the phone has 3GB of RAM, the closest I've found to what might be more accurate is through using Usemon. While monitoring the RAM, it seemed to show about 1.5GB, but that might have been faked too.
All in all, it seems to be a good phone. I think s7yler's and Mayiandjay/Christopher.J.M's are better if they are actually quad-core, but until I can find an app I can trust or until I can change the rom, I don't think any of us can say what the specs are with confidence. This phone seems better than the other clones I tried out, so I'm happy with it.

Paying tax/custom control all depends on how luckly you are! With some of my orders, DHL delivered without any extra, while with others DHL contacted me and wanted bank or paypal proof of the value. There is no bullet proof rule that you can use. It is random if they stop your package when it comes from China.
The ROM is smooth, and the battery life is really good! seems to be near real 3200mAh.

For instances im thinking about buying mayiandjay's version and paying for dhl shipping with the original box, since my countries tax is 23% over the original value does that mean if the customs catch it i will pay a quarter more? or do i just need to send them the payment proof?

As far as I read the very few reviews and details of this phone available in the net the only problem I see with it is that it has a very old version of Android installed.
If it can be updated to the latest android version (In my unprofessional opinion I think the phone specs can well handle it) then it would be perfect for simple users like me.

Does anyone have steps on how to update the operating system on this phone?
I really think it has some decent hardware specs and good price.
If it gets updated to a more recent android version it would be nice.

All specs are fantastic.
The most important thing for me is if it will get update to KK (Lollipop is out of the question) and if GPS is locking satellites fast, cause most chinese phones have problem with that matter.

You don't buy a phone only because it's cheap.
Having old OS or don't knowing if there will be support for custom recovery and Rom is a deal breaker.

Exactly! Given I'm a flashaholic myself :highfive: That's why I'm asking whether it's possible to get custom recovery installed Still I can see this device being perfect for someone like my girlfriend who doesn't appreciate all the custom roms and mods I'm doing for her nexus 4 :silly:

Because out of all the specs, the display brightness and operating system version is the only thing I see that may turn me off from purchasing.

I found a site which offers the k100+ offers a pre-install of some "rom" (etotalk mod rom???)
I have no idea what it is... but doesn't this mean it's possible to install stock android kitkat(or lollipop on this thing? )

Ok found the product page from Etotalk.
Don't pay attention to them.
Since there is still no official 4.4 version out, there is no way that Etotalk can offer a better Rom.
I only hope that soon there will be the official release.

What I was hoping for is that since etotalk seems to have a way of installing their own rom, shouldn't someone be able to install stock android on the device? (or does that how it works?)

It looks like the brightness on the Kolina K100 (170$) is not so great. Therefore I'm doubting between this one and Cubot X9 (140$)
or perhaps I will wait for the Dakele 3 (270$)

Notes for OTA :
1. Should be un-rooted. Completely stock lollipop 5.1.1 rom, no modifications done

Really looking forward to its launch in India. Only wish it was available on Amazon and not Flipkart. As for the price, Motorola priced the Play very sensibly. If they do so for Style too then it should be around Rs. 26k for the 16gb version and an increase of Rs 2.5k each for higher storage capacities.
Google has priced the Nexus 5x and 6p far too high. Hope Motorola doesnt do the same with Style!

They have launched dual sim versions in India. does that mean no sd card?

I believe the Sim tray has room for 2 Nano Sims and an SD card. But I am disappointed with the price. It is at least 3k higher than my expectations.

I think Motorola took advantage of the fact that Google priced their Nexus 5x and 6p way too high in India. 6p is priced at 40k for 32 gb and 43k for 64gb. OnePlus Two invites are hard to come by and it also is without sd card. There is no other phone in 30k - 32k range which offers the Style's hardware. I am talking reputed brands. So Motorola is trying to make a killing.
There will be an exchange offer from 15th to 20th Oct. Let us see how much they offer for older phones.

I'm sorry it's not the same price as the U.S., but it's cheaper in India than anywhere else fwiw.

On eBay(.in) many phones like LG G4 and Galaxy S6 are at around 33-35k. Also One Plus 2 is 27.5k without invite. Motorola took the advantage of hype, but let's see where it goes with it.

Most phones on eBay.in don't come with manufacturer warranty. They are sold with seller warranty.

considering this is a dual sim model while internationally it will be selling as a single sim
maybe the model number will be different ?
If that is the case; no custom roms will work from the int edition.
and then would be a fail phone for xda
i wonder what it's gonna be.
SD card support is there btw.. upto 128Gb

Thanks, that's fine with me. It's ok when you have your phone in the pocket but when it's in the table by your side you can miss notifications if you don't notice the screen.
I've been messing around the settings but can't seem to find an option that let me say I want the screen always on or waking every x seconds/minutes when the notification hasn't been dismissed yet...

That's one of things I was looking for myself, but it appears that the only option is lift to wake.

4hrs SOT with 45% left....not too bad...

Just went on a chat session with Nokia support. Sugestion was to use a 3rd party app.
I've been digging a little bit more and found out this:

I havent got the phone yet but I believe the notifications appear on rhe Lock screen intermittently like on the windows lumia phones which is actually quite good.

Almost, the intermittently part(what is supposed to do) doesn't work...

They actually appear when you lift the phone off the table. It's under the "Gestures" menu and activated by default

Yes, that works but that also requires lifting the phone. xD
The phone is always in my field of view and when codding for hours strait something lighting up(a led or the screen) is more convenient that picking up the phone. I might acknowledge the notification but if I don't check it the first time I'll forget it...

I use my Smartwatch to get Informed about a notification.

Does the phone has raise to wake up or double tap to wake?

It does have an option for slow moition recording, but oddly it doesn't show how many fps. I've searched the specs from other sites and nobody can confirm the fps yet. Not sure if Nokia hasn't released the info or not. But I will try to shoot some footage and see if I can perceive by eye what it looks like.

Stupid question, Google Camera isn't compatible with the phone???
