Xposed App Settings - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

For anyone who has used this app in the past, it works now woth our s4's! As for anyone not familiar with what it does, it changes the pixel density of each app so you can run your phone at a lower density (im using 360 and loving it) while keeping, for example, tw apps which require stock dpi at 480 (stock)

200 dpi works fine
I've been running my Tab at 200dpi for the last month, and so far, no problems at all.
Through a bit of experimenting, I've found that 40 dpi jumps usually work fine. So, 160 dpi, 200 dpi, 240 dpi and 280 dpi all work fine. Anything in between usually breaks some app or other.
I'm running at 200 as well. Most apps work fine, some games don't fill up the screen but that's generally the exception.
182 is max res for cam

Try changing ure density in build.prob rather then using software..
i run 180 with no issues.
Running 220 here, change via build.prop. Camera works fine.

I always edit build.prop to change the density, and with <182 the camera don't work.
Can you try the camera with 180, and if it work can you tell us what kernel/rom are you using?

Has anyone tried a lower density via the build.prop method? I'm aiming for 160-170. I'm using LCD Density Changer app to save settings

[APP] Screen Density Changer

So I recently got the LCD density changing aapplication from the market and love it.
I have always been a fan of larger screens but the hardware on the Nexus 1 (led scroll ball and light) keeps me grounded.
Anyway after using the app and moving it down to 220, I'm getting the same resolution overall as I did with the Atrix and love it.
Although the screen size isn't as big, I'm seeing more information than I do with my Captivate that has the same 480 by 800 resolution and a larger, 4 inch screen.
Just sharing my thoughts.

any problem with some apps or games? I used it before and some apps and games won't show up in full screen no more so i switch back to default and uninstall the app.
I've been using this app for some time now and I have no problems with apps so far.
I don't have any problems with applications; I don't play games on this phone so I can't comment on that though.

Never heard of this until just now. VERY VERY awesome.
What are the "optimal" settings you guys are using? I set mine to 220 and I did notice a difference (especially my home screen).
Sounds intersting! Any noticable impact on battery or memory?
You can definitely notice a difference, it kinda reminds me of the HD Sense roms. It also fixed some issues I was having with LauncherPro & some widgets when in portrait.

I'm searching in the Market for this app and the only one that I can come up with is "LCD Density Changer" by Beansoft. Is this the app that everyone is using? $1.04?

I use the one that has an icon of a LCD with two arrows coming out of it, has the same name but I don't remember if I spent money on it.
Same as the one you're talking about I think, has the same name.

Ya it's too bad it's not the same application anymore. This application doesn't have 2 arrows coming out of the LCD icon. In addition, the screen density resets itself back after every reboot.

Yea I don't like resetting it, however I never voluntarily turn the phone off and when I do have to reset, it only takes 20 or so seconds.

I'm using this app till one month now without any problem on my DHD with CM7.
I play Angry birds, dillo hills, Go Launcher ...
It's exact name is "LCDDensity for Root" made by Elviss Kustans.
Set LCD density on boot?
Hi guys,
Do you know if there's a way to set the LCD density 'permanently' so that you don't have to reset it everytime you reboot?
Thanks in advance!
You can set it permanently by editing the build.pro. Change the ro.sf.lcd_desity line to whatever you like.
I recommend 180 for N1s

If you want to make your density setting your system default, just go into the setting. If you edit the build.prop, then you'll have to do that every time you flash a new rom. I'm sure most of us flash junkie's use titanium back, so that way when you restore your apps that setting will be saved also.

So, umm, sorry to inform you, but the "save as system default" setting writes to the build.prop

Whats the right lcd dencity on lg g2x?

I been using 192 with some app on the market but it was too small on that density. Then i tried 240 and it was to big.
So, whats the best density to choose.
And after that market kept saying in the updates that its not compatible with my device..
Its the density has todo with that??
240 is the regular screen size I believe.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
you believe correctly, it is 240
Edit: forgot to mention to try 220 if 240 is to big. Everything works if someone knows certain apps that wont update, please tell.
Ok yall i would try that.
Sent from my LG-P999
Tell me what you think. I just switched to 220 to see how it is also. Don't really mess around with it much but I think im going to keep it this way.

Have tried any other?

you are better off keeping the density at 240. When you change it, the market will not let you download certain apps because it changes the screen resolution to a tablet type res. It is a bug with the market.

Go to 200. There's an app called font changer that also allows you to conveniently change the screen density, it's what I use.

I had my density at 215 for a while and last month i tried redownloading facebook and a few other apps and it said not compatible with device. It is quite annoying, google responded to users complaining about the issue and they basically said that we shouldnt be altering our phones. Oh well....

LCD Density Change

Coming from the epic touch forum. Switched to skyrocket yesterday. How many people adjust there screen density to a lower amount to make stuff smaller more like the galaxy nexus screens. Currently im at 160 and think it looks good. Just curious if anyone else is dropping it?
I change mine 192. I found that to be the best for reading and using gingerbread keyboard. I've noticed Swype and the Samsung keyboard resize well at 160. what keyboard do you use?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
Im running Quiz's Rom that has the Ice Cream Keyboard and it seems to resize really well too.
Theres no point to changing your LCD density because if you do nothing in the market will work for you.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Actually a few density apps do it in a manner that does not affect the market.

Actually that's not true... While I don't know of any LCD density apps that don't affect the market, there is a workaround that seems to work pretty well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21899025#post21899025
Just follow the instructions and hopefully it will work for you too... I've updated my programs and installed a few that weren't letting me before... Soo happy I don't have to reset my LCD settings everytime I want to update an app or install something new...lol
That's bs I use LCD density and I'm using 720p settings...I download any and everything no problem. Some apps won't display correctly but most do. I am using latest skyicecream rom and go launcher with all Widgets. Fixes little issues with displaying apps. Man I thought it just resized things to appear at different resolution but after trying YouTube videos like big buck bunny in HD at 720p density it is like night and day clarity...I mean you have to see to believe....download LCD density and watch big buck bunny normal then change density to 720p....go back to YouTube app and watch it again...your jaw will drop I promise....

That's very nice for you but there are a lot of people that can't install things from the market when changing their screen density... I had quite a few apps say my phone wasn't compatible while the density was changed and were fine after I changed my settings from the post I linked to...

Vzw sgs iii dpi

So has anyone changed the dpi on our phone? I've changed it to 240 using Rom Toolbox but my phone apk is displayed incorrectly (obviously) and for some reason I couldn't change it back to normal. The highest in could set it to was 280. Just want others opinions on their favorite dpi, methods of changing it, tips and tricks and other problems they've had.

Root Explorer to manually edit the build.prop or LCD Density Modder (I have the Pro version to take care of any Play Store incompatibilities) both work well on stock/stock-based TouchWiz ROMs or AOSP-based ROMs.
You can use a third-party dialer from the Play Store if the stock dialer bugs you at different densities.
Anything below 240, IIRC, won't work on a TW ROM.
I am currently running AOKP on my GSIII and set the density at 180 so I can enjoy Tablet Mode. I love it, and we have a great big screen that can really take advantage of it.
Ooohhhh. Does your phone apk look alright on AOKP? I had AOKP on my E4GT but I'm too scared to flash it on this phone. Lol
