I got CWM recovery already installed on my xt925. Can I install the TWRP recovery without uninstalling the other ?
If not, how to uninstall the CWM before installing the TWRP ?
Short answer is yes both should work have done this before. To remove recovery just use root explorer or something similar and delete the files and image. If you have pc just move your recovery image and files there for safekeeping

Which phone are u using? Did u obtain root? Do you have recovery installed?
If you do, I recommend you to use recovery to flash the rom.
I am using the droid 3 and yes I have root access. And im not sure about the. Recovery I am new to this stuff. I do have something called clockwork recovery. I even tried using rom toolbox an rom manager. But for some reason after I download a rom from either app it will ask if I want to boot into recovery I will push ok but it just reboots my phone shouldn't it boot me into recover?

If you have Clockwork, then you have recovery installed.
I've never use rom manager, instead, I BOOT into recovery and flash everything from there.
If you don't know how to boot into it, download this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en
Then choose recovery. You MUST put the rom in the root of your SD card to flash it, not inside a folder.
What does that mean root of your sd card I haven't read about what that is or how to do that?

The issue is your using a recovery that doesn't allow for non official signed roms to be flashed.

Just copy the rom on your SD card...
I can't install any ROM's with CWM (I've tried 3), it says "E: Can't open /sdcard/<rom name>.zip" then "installation aborted".
The steps I've done are:
-wipe data/factory reset
-format /cache + /data
-install zip from sdcard
-errors of sadness
I've also formatted my sd card**
Not sure if it will help, but have you tried using TWRP instead of CWM? I've seen more people with issues using CWM instead of TWRP. May not be your solution but it's a place to start. Plus, I think TWRP is better anyway.

TWRP works better for our phone and is officially supported by the TWRP devs. I use to to use and was comfortable with cwm, except on this phone I have found that TWRP works, and actually is a nicer recovery.

Ok, I'll try TWRP, but do I need on uninstall CWM first? If so, how?

Just flash TWRP right over it
I get the same error as before, it says system is unmounted already and that it can't open the zip
Hi everyone. I am trying to install Cyanogen mod 10 but can't because of status 7 error(Installation aborted). I have installed CWM-based Recovery 5(this appears in the recovery menu and this file came from the root package). I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3100).I have tried the following method again and again. I have also read the installing custom roms guide but to no avail.
Here's what i do:
1. Install stock firmware(the ORIGINAL that was present in tab when i bought it)through Odin.
2. Install Clockwork mod through Odin.
3. Reboot
4. Go into recovery mode and install root file from external SD Card.
5. Reboot
6. Go into recovery mod and wipe cache, wipe data\factory reset and then wipe Dalvin(something like this)cache.
7. Try to install Cyanogen mod 10.zip from external SD Card(brings up error)
Note:
I have the Cyanogen mod 10 file in external SD Card in ZIP format i.e. i have not extracted anything out of it. I was reading somewhere that u have to extract the file then u get update.zip and boot.zip. But i get boot.img and no update.zip
Also if the solution to this problem is first installing Cyanogen mod 3.2, then please post the link for my device(Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3100)).
1-As i know you should install cwm 6.0.10 to be able to install cm10 version 5 can not let you install it
2-put file in internal sd and use gapps of jelly bean not ics
3- use file specific for p-3100 not any other
4- after flashing cwm 6.0.1.0 via odin enter recovery and make nandroid backup with cwm 6 as backup made by cwm 5 can not be restored by cwm6 so nandroid just in case you want to revert to be safe before flash

THANK U VERY MUCH Now i'm running Jelly Bean.
Hello guys, this is my first post on xda forums!
I've got a question. I rooted my Moto G XT1032 with flashing superSU through CWM 6.0.4.7. After reboot, CWM offered me some options about fixing recovery, I just ignored it, selected no to every option. After reboot I had root access. For some unknown reasons, I am not able to do nandroid backup when I reboot to recovery. It looks like it is backing it up somewhere, but I cannot see it anywhere on my "sdcard". BTW, I choosed CWM because TWRP is extremely buggy, for my finger size unusable  . Thanks guys for every reply!!!
Oh, btw, CWM still offers me some "root fixes" when I try to reboot...
CWM ask you to fix root you should accept try flashing su again, try philz touch recovery

1)Your CWM Backup is Saved To Data/media/Clockworkmode (into the internal Directory)
2)In CWM Every time you have to select Yes To Fix Root... No Need To Flash supersu again and again.
My root always works, even if I do not choose to fix root, lol.
But i'll flash the phils recovery... Is it just normal process using fastboot flash recovery?

So forgive the noobishness here. I own a Samsung SM-A500H. Basically, I rooted it using Kingroot which worked out fine. Then I flashed a TWRP 3.0.0-1 file using flashify (flashed recovery). The phone rebooted, and I got to the TWRP recovery. So naturally I wanted to reboot my device normally, but it wouldn't do it. It kept rebooting into TWRP recovery. After about 30 tries I gave up and decided to flash the original ROM using Odin. Before I did however, I backed up my Data on my external SD card. The backup files are now present in my SD card.
I want to restore that backup. But with no functioning TWRP recovery so far for my device, can I do it through any other method? Thanks.
After get back to stock
Install titanium backup
Titanium backup is able to restore from Cwm and twrp make sure u have rooted
Give a thanks if i helped u

If you are able to access the phone , there a about zillion apps to restore files from EXT SD card.
If you are not able to access the phone, try ADB sideload.
