No Service" Error in Galaxy Ace S5830

Hi,
My issue is:
I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 on 14-Apr-2011.
I am facing the issue related to the connection to my phone network. After I switch on the phone, I get my mobile network signal for about 30 minutes and after that the "No Service" icon is enabled and there is no signal at all in my phone.
I checked the SIM card on a difference phone and there is abosolutely no issue in getting the network signal.
I tried a different service provider SIM on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and I find there is no issue either.
The problem seems to occur only with my SIM card on this phone. I changed to a new SIM and apparently that also did not solve the issue.
I am also unable to find the "Network Mode" option under the network settings, which I would normally find in other phones.
I tried with the option "Use only 2G network" but that also did not help. I am not using any 3G service at the moment.
I am now stuck in this situation and not able to use my new phone.
I am from Chennai, India and use Vodafine India post paid service.
Hence seeking your kind advice to help me resolve this issue at the earlier.

Hi guys,
I am facing the very same issue.
I contacted my dealer and got the phone replaced.
They supposedly diagnozed some problem and issues a doa on the device
Now, even in my new phone i am facing the same issue
I am using vodafone postpaid and it works fine on any other phone
Also, ive tried my dad's airtel prepaid sim on this phone and it worked perfectly fine for over 2 days
I have tried searching for this issue on any thread for sometime and finally found this
Any luck with any of you guys?

I too have the same problem.
The Network often gets disabled.
i have to either switch off and on it (or go into flight mode and come back) for it to get enabled.
My Sim Card is fine since when i use it in a nokia phone i never get this problem.
Whats worrying me is that this looks more like a hardware problem ... i recently updated my firmware through kies from froyo (2.2) to gingerbread (2.3.4) ... still the problem is persisting.
Many guys are suggesting to contact my dealer .. but i purchased this phone through letsbuy.com. So that option might be a hassle.
So guys any info on this issue ...?

Hi Folks, same problem here in Brazil with S5830B, no service all the time! any ideas????????????????????

U can try to change the modem of the firmware with Odin Multidownloader... try to put an unbranded rom... that works for me in my ACE.
I hope your trouble is silved with this option.... check in the forum of the developement of galaxy Ace a forum for flashing the galaxy ace...

The problem is you guys didn't post in the device-specific forum .
Try flashing a different modem through ODIN

My issue is resolved once I updraded firmware of my phone thru Kies tp 2.3 from 2.2
also you can try following:
dial *#2263#
select GSM mode and then select 900/1800 (or may be if that does not work..select other bands. my was fixed when I selected 900/1800 after I got few emergency call only issue)

Need Help with GSM network

recently i activated a 3G plan , and to use it i would obviously go to WCDMA/GSM , and the 3g worked fine , but then when i try to switch over to GSM i would have problems and my phone would go into emergency calls only , ! . it tried my SIM in another phone it worked fine , and then when i would put the sim back to my phone it would work for a while and then the same error would occur

have you had flashed other country's firmware, maybe it is happening because of modem

NOPE using airtel in india .. and reflashed the stock DDKT3 ROM.. also tried custom ROM's :/

Your motherboard has been corrupted i bet on it. I also got the same problem when i was using LTE, in gsm mode it works fine but not in 3G . Get your device repaired at service center if you have warranty.

LOL i meant 3G .. !!
It all started when i put a LTE sim in it,but then there was no network. Randomly i used 3G network and still i was facing problem,so it might be that the problem arose from LTE sim ..

well . i tried another sim of the same service provider, and the 3g was working fine ( in my phone its not working ) also will check GSM Services in some time and let u knw .. also .. is the Hardwarae for GSM / WCDMA the same or different ?

update:- . A sim from another carrier is working fine .. even the GSM services .. guess something is wrong with my sim or network!! anyways switching over to Vodafone !!

[Q] need help please

hi guys i am back at it again i have a china android
model number G15
android version 4.0.3
baseband version
maui.11amd.w11.37.sp.v16, 2012/05/11 17:01
kernel version 2.6.35.7
build number alps.gb.fdd2.mp.v4.5
now the phone works ok for 1 minor problem each time i insert a sim card the phone would detect it but i cant get any signal bars no signal and even if i try to dial it says network not available i contacted the company i bought it from and they sent me the G15 stock firmware i installed it with the flash tool but same problem no signal can anyone help me please i can upload the firmware if you guys need to check it out any help would be greatly appreciated

Looks like a expired sim. Is the sim working on other phone? Have u tried other sim card?

and needed some urgent help
i just purchased a used note 2 today N7100(unlocked international)
it was on version 4.1.1 official samsung
i flashed with odin to 4.3 indian stock rom.
now the phones working but the sim card is not registered on the network. it says emergency calls only.
i checked the phone its not at all black listed and the guy from whom i purchased was using it with his sim in it.
it cozed issues only after i flashed it to 4.3. also this is a phone from dubai as the guy told me.
the imei no is showing still but the network wont get registered. plz help asap!! thanks in advanced.

have you tried using other sims? maybe its not compatible with your specific sim.
maybe you just dont have any coverage, when i get the "not registred on network" message, it usualy means i'm underground, or in a place with low cell coverage, like in the woods or mountains.

The phone is factory unlocked so no issues related to not compatible and I tried with another sim too. Still the same problem. The problem only came when I flashed the 4.3 Indian stock rom. But that rom doesn't have any problem coz I've used on other note 2 too. Something related with the phone.

Hi there if you go into settings and then about device and then status you will be able to see if you have a service state if you don't have any but the network operator appears as well as signal stats. You most likely have a black listed iemi or something happened to the iemi when flashing the rom or more simple is the sim slot is broken. Hopefully you will be able to fix it sorry I can't give you that much help on this subject.

Emergency Calls Only on Jio sim

Hello .
I got a jio sim 10 days ago but i was getting no service in my moto g3 and then i put that sim in samsung phone, it got activated and i was able to place calls on Samsung device but then i put it back in moto g3 and again its showing no service.
I thought the sim was faulty but today i got the new sim card from jio and it was again showing No service so i put it again in Samsung phone and was able to place calls. The problem is the jio sim isn't showing any service in my phone only.
I have tried flashing Reseruction remix 6.0.1, stock lolipop rom and also cm12 but i am not getting any service at all.
Please help me.

Bro make sure the barcode u used to collect to sim is must be generated from the phn ij which u r going to use the jio sim..or u hav to registered via ur imei for working jio sim....
I felt same problem...cos i tookba codr from one of my frnds but i got no signal like u...but then i use old jio apk and genrated code successfully from my g3 using stock imei...(previously i tried the imei from which the barcode generated but not works)....then got a new sim by biometric id thru adhar card number.....activated within 5 mins and got all msgs quickly.....

bro they didnt ask for any bar code , they just asked for my imei number and the sims are working in all other handsets except Moto G3. Actually my model number is XT1541 (UK 1gb edition) . I guess its 4g band doesnt work in india. I flashed stock MM too but still i am not getting any signal

hi , i also want to share my experience..
i got motoG3, i ported my sim to JIO
now i put the sim in Slot1 , i dont know why that didnt work.. ( i didnt get signal like you )
but when i changed it to Slot2 it started working...
maybe the reason is : i ported my sim which is in 2nd slot.. any kind of IMEI thing is stopping me to use that JIO sim in Slot1

Jio 4g bands are Band 3 (1800Mhz), Band 5 (850Mhz), Band 40 (2300Mhz).....but according to gsm arena i just saw ur lte bands are not matching to jio's ones....so i think in xt1541 u will get no signal

Actually my phone is single sim and i just came to know that my modek doesnt support jio LTE band , So i might probably sell this phone.

1. This is the wrong thread to post this.
2. The file you downloaded is stocks-modified, to restore stock, use firmware flashing guide by lost101 in general section.
3. All the information is properly documented there, make sure to search and read the posts before doing anything. Likely any query that you may have is already answered, if not, you an ask in that thread.

In my mob Jio doesn't work at home but when I go around city it works fine. Model is xt1550.
Strangely it works good at home on my brother's Samsung mobile.
I guess it's frequency problem, may be.
I thought moto mobile's signal reception would be good but unfortunately I got deeply disappointed.
