[Q] replacing motherboard on tf300 - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all I've looked for threads on this and have so far only a few talking about where to buy new motherboards but not how to actually open up the tf300 and taking out parts in order to successful remove and replace the motherboard. If anybody here would be able sort of give a rundown or in-depth step by step on how to do this or link to a website/youtube that was able to give a more detailed way of going about this I'd really appreciate it.
My tablet got messed up in the first place because I tried to do things on my own so I wanted to make sure I had input from people who knew better than I on what they're doing to make this all go smoothly. Thanks ahead of time for any assistance that anybody here would be willing to give.

[Q] Starting up

Hello all,
I just got my gtablet today. While I have done my homework, I seemed to have come a bit late to the party.
All the threads and mods are a bit overwhelming.
I'm not afraid to do a bunch of the stuff listed...however I do want to make sure I have a proper back up and know how to use it.
Can someone please give me a quick break down on how to back out the current stock software and how to reinstall it if the **** hits the fan?
Do I need to download something or do I back it up on the device?
Thank you in advance.
several posts in past two days explain this in detail

How to really get started

Okay this may be redundant but let me try. I'm new to this site and new to the whole androids modding.I was thinking of buying the star x26i or the star note i9220 dpad. I'm really not sure where to start once I get phone. If I can't get the direction I think I can figure out the rest or at least search to get info. Any help will be appreciated.
Get started as in what exactly? Are you talking about rooting and custom roms?

as I see you are interested in ROM development then here is a best resource on this site to help you on this subject

I know this is a modding community so the majority of answers are just going to say root root root! But in all honesty, if you are brand new to Android, get used to stock for a bit before you jump into modification. Spend your time reading about your specific device while you play with it and if people are happy with their devices rooted and the process isn't too intensive for you, then give it a shot.

Thanks for all the input. I was trying to be sure if there was a step by step process on what to do.I am fairly new to android phones and want to learn the ins and outs. I'm searching for a new phone now and it seems like the ones I like need something to be done to them before I can use them. So I was trying to be sure of the process before I screwed something up. I like the suggestion of learning the phone 1st which will probably lead me to a name brand phone.I'm currently with boost mobile so my options are limited. Once again thanks for the info.
1. Root
*unlock bootloder* optional
2. remove bloatware
3. read about custom roms
4. go crazy modding
Enjoy stock for a while, Oh and heres a tip, On the process of rooting, You can easily brick your phone.
Meaning Of Brick - It will no longer boot up; You have to replace it.
Well, actually I'm just looking
I googled "Rooted phone, what next?" and got several helpful sites and threads. Most of which lead back to XDA. Although I had a fairly clear goal in mind; I wanted ICS.

I got the x26i and I rooted it with Bin4ry it worked really well don't forget to install drivers.
Leave a thumbs up if I helped you.

How to root?

Hey everyone. I just got this note pro today from Amazon. I've read about a lot of functionality you can get from rooting your device. The thing is I have no clue how to root a device. I've looked around the internet and to be quite honest I'm still not quite sure how to properly root the device. I was hoping someone could maybe point out or give me step by step instructions on how to root a device. Including making backups and the programs needed. I'm totally a noob in this and quite terrified of destroying a 685.00 dollar device. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to take the time out. The reason I'm rooting is because I want to get better battery life and be able to run any app in multiview mode. (Student who wants to go multiview with amazon ebooks and a note taking app)

I'm not sure which Internet your using.... you must not be looking very hard because your answer is in this very forum. In fact , there is a great big thread about it a few lines down. If after reading said thread you still have a question, I suggest asking IN that thread.
Every one here loves to help out, but you gotta put in at least a TINY bit of effort dude.

First let me thank anyone that can point me in the right direction in fixing my phone. Here is the problem, first somebody tried to root the phone however they pretty much bricked it. I now have a Sprint Samsung Note 2., It boots up and gives you all these choices on what to remove and modify. If you try to access any of the buttons NOTHING happens. So what I think I have to do is 1) ROOT THE PHONE, 2) INSTALL A ROM THAT ACTUALLY WORKS, AND 3) TAKE IT TO BE SWITCHED OVER TO MY EXISTING BOOST ACCOUNT. How you masters of the cellular world are able to figure this stuff out has me in awe. This newbie would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT you guys are my only hope of getting this phone to work.
Thank you in advance,
A confused Newbie......

look around there. I did a quick look and didn't see any un-bricking posts, but I'm sure some one there can help you figure it out.

Welp, I would recommend you try various radios but since you have an aversion to flashing I don't know what to tell you. This "risk" you speak of is pretty much nonexistent with the N5 as it's damn near impossible to brick. I mean, the N5 was pretty much built for flashing so if I were you I'd at least dip your toes in the water. You're in the right place, there are a ton of guides to follow and friendly folk willing to help. Just gotta put a little effort in.

Thanks so ill give it a try for sure and its like i would need the guide from scratch as i am a neewbie onto this. So i am from India so which radio should i go for and is there any infomation that you may need to assist with me with which perticular radio will work in my region please do let me know.
The phone doesn't drop any signal while i am talking over the phone and its not that frequent as well. However whenever i notice this it annoys me a lot so ill prefer getting rid of that. This phone that i got is after 7 RMA to the website which i bought from and finally this was the device that came with like no issue with the display as in stuck or dead pixels like others.
Please suggest me something and i am ready to move forward on this

Like I said man, there are a ton of guides, just do some searching and lots of reading. People here like to help others who first try to help themselves, and I am the same way. That said, I'm not gonna hold your hand and walk you through it, but if you figure out what you need to do and hit a bump in the road, ask away and I'll have no problem helping out. The best way to learn something is to figure it out yourself, and that's the honest truth.
