Ive used the skinomi, and xtremegaurd. And they were terrible. I mean the went on well and look good but for the note they are to thick and soft. The spen would note slide or respond well.

so they all effect responsiveness

Dont know about the rest I can only comment on the ones I have used. Both tue ones I used were the thicker vinyl ones.

Screenguardz its great if you install it perfectly you can't even feel there is something on the screen i have it on my 10.1 for 3 months now and its great.

I bought the InvisibleSHIELD brand at the Best Buy. It never effected how the SPen or anything else worked. After a couple weeks of use from the kids and their games it was scratched up. I would think it would last longer.

Forget what anyone tells you. You want the screen protectors available on eBay from the seller dcmugen88. I have no affiliation with the guy, but his product is ridiculously high quality, perfect fit, AND he sells a 4-5 pack for $2-3! I've bought from him three times now... twice for my N1 (the protectors last a few months at a time easy, but I wanted extras) and once for my GF's G2.
It's a static screen protector with a mild adhesive, and no wet install.... just peel and stick following the directions.
Here's the link to his eBay page and store... he's in Hong Kong though, so b/c of the Chinese New Year, he's not selling anything for another week or so.

This is the truth, i get all my screen from this guy for years now. I used the anti glare version and its bloody marvelous, dcmugen is the king of internet screen protectors, thank god too cause all his **** is like 5 dollars for a pack of 8 lol
I have used bestskinsever.com which is similar to InvisiShield. After a year or so it started to peel and get gunk it in the corners. It add's a nice grip however.

I'm not sure what's happening to dcmugen; they don't have anything for sell now. They seem to suffer some quality issue as well.
I've bought from them for 4 different phones, 3 of them were perfect cut (Omnia 2, htc Magic & Nexus One), but the last one (Desire Z) was just terrible. The screen protector size is "a lot" smaller than the screen, approx 3~4mm shorter and 1mm narrower. Then I read his feedbacks and found other people having similar issues.
Not sure if they are trying to cut corners or what. Hopefully they'll come back with better products.
In the meanwhile, can anyone recommend an alternative to dcmugen? Thanks.
Just fyi, dcmugen never sells thing this time of year..he takes a couple weeks off for Chinese new year. Wish I could recommend something else, but if you have a nexus one, this is the best there is IMO.

Those are from Zagg right? Someone told me that those are the best ones, I bought one on ebay, Ill receive it this sunday.
I like Clarivue's Crystal line, after trying others.

Very Good Screen Protectors! Very Clear!

Dont know if anyone is looking for a Screen Protectors but Boxwave.com has their ClearTouch Crystal Screen protectors and those things are clear supposed to be 99% Clear. They're like 12$ maybe cheaper with Coupon code. hard to tell you have one on if applied right. Check em out
I got the ones from Verizon and don't like them. I may try these. Thx
I've always used Clarivue screen protectors but they don't have any for the Thunderbolt yet so I tried Steinheil and they are basically the same. They use static cling to adhere to the screen, so no liquids and any bubbles are easy to squeegee right out. I got the Ultra Clear and they are excellent. I agree the ones I bought from Verizon suck.
I bought the matte one from handhelditems 3-pack for $5.xx. Fits great and no bubbles at all. I prefer the matte finish/feel although it darkens the screen a little. It doesn't show fingerprints.

You beat me to it! Excellent zinger. LOL.
I used Invisible shield on an iPhone, and got used to it, but not sure I'll go back to that brand if I ever go back to using protectors.
I haven't used screen protectors for the last couple of years. No scratches on any of my devices over the years except for my original iPhone EDGE which got a nice ugly scratch right in the middle of the screen despite kid glove treatement. That made me put screens on my newer iPhones up to and including the 3G, but the 3G, iPhone 4 and all of my Android phones (5 of them) have gone naked without any screen scratches, and I'm not particularly kind to them. I often put two phones in the same pocket along with some headphones unplugged; all I do to protect the screens is put the phones where the screens don't touch each other.
All that said, there's something about the "feel" of the Thunderbolt's screen that makes me feel like it needs some protection. It's got a plastic-ish kind of feel compared to my Nexus and Samsung phones. Not sure what brand to try. Steinhell seems to be the most praised around here.
By the way, this should probably have been posted in the Accessories section.
I just bought the Zagg. The self-healing and key scratch test appealed to my desire to protect one of the most expensive phones I have ever owned. Did I fall for gimmick?

Still rocking the VZW ones, never tried anything else
Im running naked on the TB.. Ive had experience with Steinheil Ultra Crystal on my Dinc. It held up well but as far as healing from any slight nicks it seemed very fragile. In fact after I believe the 3rd day it had a large gash right in the middle of the protector and I baby my phones excessively. I removed it after about 2 months and used the Dinc naked for about 5 months before getting the TB and it still looks brand new.. I have to agree thought that the TB screen does have a fragile feel to it and has an almost mosaic look to it under light whereas the Dinc looks very sharp. I may decide to go with the Steinheil Ultra Fine this time around for both my TB and Xoom

All that said, time for me to come back and eat up a serving of my own crow to warn others that these rotten phones need a 3rd party screen protector.
I originally put a Clear Coat shield on my Thunderbolt after about 2-3 weeks of owning it. I had it "professionally" installed at one of their kiosks. Butt ugly installation! Some kind of haze under the protector that just left streaks and were noticeable enough to be annoying, but not enough to bother going back.
Eventually I convinced myself that the phone didn't need one, and the screen does look MUCH better without it.
Anyways, you know where this is going...i took the Clear Coat off the phone (even posted a youtube video of it) about a month ago and damn it, I now have a nasty 1/8" scratch (enough to catch my fingernail on) up near the notification bar. Very disappointing.
I won't claim to have treated this phone with kid gloves, but it's never been dropped, has usually been holstered (the HTC one that protects the screen), and when riding naked with another phone in my pocket I always made sure it was glass to cloth, not the other phone.
Absolutely no clue how it scratched. Gorilla glass my foot.
Time to look for a new protector that isn't ugly and doesn't affect the screen's appearance; Steinhell still sounding like the way to go.
I use Gadget Guards. Cheaper than Invisible Shield / Steinhell but just as good, and no orange peel feel.

Zagg Invisibleshields are Epic.

Got this nasty scratch on my Infuse screen, put one of these on, you can barely see the scratch. Its actually epic. Also, this things almost indestructible. You guys should really check this out...

Yeah a lot of people already know about Zagg InvisibleShields. I had one and to be honest I actually started to dislike it. The texture is a bit hard to slide your finger across. But yeah it is protective. I like ishieldz better, the same **** like invisible shield just has better texture and easier to slide your finger accross the shield.

It happened one day when I slipped it into a pocket and it got scratched on a metal button...
From XDA App on Infused v2.2.3 OCed to 1.6 GHz
Mine worked fine until one day I had it in my pocket and when I pulled it out the InvisibleShield had completely unglued and slid around, and it was never the same afterward. Threw it away and run topless now.
invisishield and simil.ar protectors are good for a month or two before it turns yellow (dont believe me, take it off)
also there are similar (cheaper) products out that have a similar material but have a better feel (not so sticky to the fingers after it is installed) but most need to be found on amazon or ebay because they arent carried in stores.
hard plastic protectors are too easy to scratch. either way it is a compromise but i like the ones they sell at the att store with anti glare and no adhesive so they are washable and reuseable. easy to scratch but other wise they are the smartest thin i have seen but a little pricey.
Another alternative to invisible shield is Ghost Armor. They're based out of Arizona but I think you can order it online. I have to give AZ companies a little shout out!

Topless... haha. i bought those cheap 5 pack from amazon. ****s are pretty good. today after like 3 months of use still on the first one, i scratched it my self with a staple to see if it would scratch. it did. they were like 5 bucks i think, 3 month use and still going, 5 pack, and doesn't move around. i really like it.
sorry i think i Hi-Jacked thread, but anybody who is interested in these here is the link. trust me they work awesome. Link to Screen Protectors
I love the Zagg Invisibleshield screen protectors but it's not worth it for me because they're a bit too expensive to be putting on my phones and I switch phones alot

I agree with u. I have always used Zagg Invisible shields (on AT&T Tilt, Captivate & and also on Infuse). But just replaced it with a cheap $5 one when i was at a mall. Didn't test the scratching part yet, but it looks really really nice & much smoother.I'll never use Imviaible shield again.

Screen protector opinions?

Hi, I'm going to swapping from Sprint to Verizon. I would like to know opinions on screen protectors for this phone. Currently I have a Zagg Invisishield HD on it, which is "ok" at best. Dent and ding recovery is very slow and often not very effective on the protector, it also produces a plenty annoying rainbow effect under high light situations. I'm wondering what people are using for screen protectors and your opinions on them. I don't mind paying a premium even for a silly screen protector, as I plan to have it on the second the phone comes out of the box, and forever afterwards.
I can't provide much for empirical data, but I've used Zagg before and disliked them immensely. I use the standard one from Verizon and it works great. My finger moves across the screen smoothly and have had no issues whatsoever. Lasts a very long time and sufficiently protects the screen from car keys, change, etc... in the pocket with the phone.
It's not the most expensive route; but has worked well for me.

The standard Zagg doesn't let the finger slip well but the HD version is much closer to glass. I was surprised how much orange peel there is on the HD still. It's still my go to protector because of the self healing properties but it's far from perfect

Ghost armor stuff does look interesting, I am however concerned on it peeling off easily after it being on for a while because of the definite resistance it will have on both sides (I would get both sides, otherwise it just seems like a different zagg for the front). Also what kind of indentation will occour on scratches and what not, would be my next question. Replacement seems to be a b* if i were to get any indentation/scratches on it. Most annoying thing with Zagg HD is the indentation and "would be" scratch marks. They are extremely apparent and don't recover at all/well.
I have a dba just like glass and I like it. It does have some cons, line not covering the full screen. Try and look for a wet application, they are not intimidating at all and are very easy to install. If you mess it up, just take it off and start over.

Not a fan of "buttons on top of buttons" unfortunately. I don't need a full body version, so long as the screen is covered. I baby the crap out of my phone but I just want a screen protector because that's something you can't get away from (scratches) no matter what you do with your phone unless you practically don't use it.
Also, I seemed to have missed the first response in my thread. I was debating just buying whatever and not caring too much about it (I honestly don't care too much about it, but if there's something that's close to perfect I'll buy it for near any amount of money). My phone's off of amazon however so now I'm forced to look for myself instead of being the irresponsible buyer and having a limited choice
Edit:
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Steinheil Ultra Nano looks promising. Debating on that and anything I see within the end of the night (need to order it today to get it in time with the phone as well).
I had the ZAGG invisishield HD and it was nice to look at but pitted and scratched way to quick. Then I went with Armour Suits one and it was the same way. Finally got the regular ZAGG invisishield and it seems to hold up nice. Not sure I like the rubbery texture or not though. I work around metal all day and I have shavings and dust on my fingers 24/7. The ZAGG already has scratches on it but I'll wait to send for a new one till it gets worse. I also tried going naked for awhile, and after about a month I had a faint scratch on the screen. But if you're not around metal or sand much, go naked!

I put on one of the ones you get on the Verizon store that are about 13 bucks (you get three) and you barely notice that it's there. I feel convinced that if I had it on, my screen would have survived a fall much better (it is now cracked along the bottom).
Have you ever tried BodyGuardz? I have one on my phone and I couldn't more happier with it.
Whatd you end up going with OP?

These are my favorite Tech Armor. I love the way they feel on the screen, your finger slides across them with no drag what so ever. I also love the anti glare feature of them and it helps a LOT. They go on easy as long as you take your time doing it and don't try to rush. They don't have any kind of self healing to them, but because they're so cheap it's easy to just replace them. I baby my phone as well. You get three in a pack and I usually replace mine like once every month or two. Even if you end up buying three packs you can replace it almost ever 45 days and still pay less than the $25 ones.
I tried Zagg HD and a bunch of other ones and liked these the most. I'd take you a picture but the only camera I have is my phone lol. My biggest gripe about the Zagg was even though they claim you get a life time replacement warranty, and you do, you have to pay $9.99 shipping to receive a replacement. You can buy a whole new set of these for that price. At least try these out, for $7 you won't be disappointed.
I have zag on my ipod touch. Its been on there for 4+ years now with no problems. Plus zags are easy to install and they offer 2 for 1 deals/free shipping all the time.

I have quite a few screen protectors for my s3. I would say Spg Ultra nano is probably the best one out there. Easy to put on, hardly no fingerprints and easy to swipe your finger across. The ones I have tried are Zagg HD. I hated it cause it dimmed my screen and also it was hard to swipe my finger across the screen. Next I tried DBA just like glass. Easy to apply, swipe across the screen was great. But what made me take it off was it attracted way to much finger prints. And also the edges around the screen didn't seal. And I wanted 2 weeks and still no seal. Then I went with the spg ultra clear nano. Best one out there if you ask me. Hardly no fingerprints, easy to apply, sealed perfectly and easy to swipe my finger across the screen. Ordered from spg store online. $15 for 3. I have had it on for about 3 months now and still holding.

I agree with the Spigen ultra clear nano. I don't think you want to take your keys to it but it's so clear you can't tell it's on the screen....I cannot find the edge of the screen protector. I've had it on for a few months and it's very fingerprint resistant, nice feel, similar to the stock screen. Before this screen protector I had never used one...got these for my wife but since it was a 3 pack I used one myself. I will say that these are probably not as resistant to heavy abuse as some of the thicker/uglier/extremely noticeable ones are.
Wife and I have been using Zaggs for years now... as have my friends. Initially, Zaggs are somewhat "tacky" and don't let your finger slide easily. But after it "dries" off completely (or breaks in?) it's just fine. I'll admit, naked-glass and some other screen protectors are smoother, but we all see no problem with the Zagg operationally.
More importantly, is the durability. My wife loves to toss her phone in her purse, and it invariably gets jammed with keys and such. Her older OG Droid was naked for about a week and picked up scratches quickly in this environment. The Zagg prevents this COMPLETELY. It does "scar" if it gets hit hard, but with a lifetime warranty, replacement is cheap and easy anyway. In the end it protects the device immensely... can't beat that.
I used to use cheaper screen protectors (Kingston?) on my old Palm devices, and they needed to be replaced about every 3-6 months as they get more and more opaque or worn over time. The Zagg never does this. I realize newer protectors are better, but my friends who use cheaper ones often have the same issues. So, for me, I'll stick with Zagg.
I haven't used a screen protector on my gs3 and all I've noticed are small scratches that are only visible if the screen is off. It annoys me a bit but you can't even see them when using the phone.

yup. screen protectors are unneccesary.

Xtreme Guard Screen Protector.

Hello.
I bought Xtreme Guard screen protector and read few reviews about it.
Some were negative and some positive but I also noticed that some of these reviews were from 2012.
Maybe the Xtreme Guard screen protectors were improved in this year.
I wanted to ask for fresh reviews/opinions from you guys.
What do you think about the Xtreme Guard screen protectors in terms of Clarity,Stickiness,Visibility,Protection ( From scratches and maybe drops of the phone ).
Thank you!
I've used them on several devices. They're good cheap screen protectors. Good clarity etc but just find them too sticky and always eventually end up taking them off unfortunately. They're great as an interim solution or if you're okay with the grippiness. I use gesture typing though and it just doesn't suit me for that. I prefer matte or naked glass but some other protectors like spigen are pretty good (pricey though). Haven't tried bse in the last year or so but they used to be quite sticky too. From what I've read, they're pretty decent now. Unsure how they compare with Xtremeguard though. There's a thread for screen protectors. Have a read there.
I've used them before, hated them. Last one I've used was couple months ago, still hate them. They did improve but not much.
My opinions are as follow:
Pros: price, coverage/cutout, scratch resistant.
Cons: orange peel effect, grippy/sticky surface, dents will remain, noisy when typing lol, not swipe friendly, also 90% of occasions not case friendly, its wait and wait game.
I'm now using iSmooth films and never turning back. 3 films, Super smooth, superb clarity, outstanding customer service, lifetime replacements(yes literally). When I my Galaxy s3 was my daily phone I went thru films every two weeks (I work in oilfield) they never asked questions. 3 days later the replacements were in mailbox.

Good choice! It's by far the best ones I've had. I don't know if it's a deal breaker for you or not but it does tend to get smudges just like the naked screen does. But a quick wipe and you're good!
