[Q] KT747 Kernel for Liquid Smooth JB V2.4? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys so I just wanted to make sure I'm about flash the correct kernel to my S3. I'm currently running Liquid Smooth JB v2.4 and its stock leanKernel 3.4.45. I wanna flash KT747 AOSP JB MR1 3.4 VZW which I downloaded from ktsoonez thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853816. Does this look right to everybody?
Once I boot into recovery I can just flash the kernel then clear cache/dalvik and fix permissions, reboot and I'm set right?
I really don't want to mess this up lol.

wipe cache
wipe dalvik
flash kernel
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
fix permissions
reboot
thats always been my process and ive never had any problems.

name ersaiio
That seemed to work quite nicely ddurandSGS3 thank you!

CM7 Nightly Question

Hi all. I recently got my Inspire and have flashed a few ROMS, finally settled on CM7.1 RC. I want to try out the nightly route, but not entirely sure what order to do it all in. This is what I think I need to do:
Go into recovery, format /cache, wipe dalvik cache. Flash nightly 144 over my current 7.1, flash the bbmod165bBFS.zip, then juwe11 script (does this get flashed each nightly?), then reboot. Is this correct, or am I forgetting anything? Do I need to flash gapps again? I already made a NANDroid. Thanks.

you got it. i dont think you have to flash the script everytime and you will not have to flash gapps everytime. btw you dont have to wipe between nightlys just simply flash over
Thanks, I appreciate the quick reply. So I shouldn't bother to wipe cache and dalvik cache? I thought that was pretty much recommended before flashing the majority of stuff. Ok, so I'm off to flash this nightly.
I never wipe between nightlys. But if you ever do encounter problems, then wipe cache, dalvik cache then reflash

I've always wiped cache and dalvic between nightlies. I don't know if it's needed but I've never had any problems with installs. It only takes a few seconds and it's never hurts to be safe.

I flashed 144, no issues so far. Thanks to all of you for the replies. I ended up wiping cache and dalvik cache just to be safe. I know there's a change log, but has there been any changes of consequence over 7.1 RC that are noticeable?
I know the most easily noticeable is if you put a lock screen on you can disable the lockscreen. Plus from 143 on is now on 2.3.5 if I'm not mistaken which does have some slight tweaks.

Latest morfic will not work with cm7 stable you need older kernel.
May i suggest flashing latest cm7 kang, its very stable and newest additions, and you can flash latest morfic kernel.
Go to development section look for baldwinguy77 thread and get latest cm7 nightly kang, wipe, flash then wipe cache/dalvik and flash morfic latest.
NVIDIA NEVER AGAIN!

That's what they are, the bot to upload the nightlies to CMs site has been down since mid november, probably because he is working on CM9. But the kang just adds the latest nightly features, was just updated a few days ago too.

[Q] Problem on boot

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my i9023 nexus s.
When going on, every time freezes, then restarts and turns on, normally.
I don't now what happened.
I start by saying that i have root, the stock ics rom and kernel Matr1x 15.5, and I already have ( downloaded on my pc ) the stock gingerbread rom with no root.
Help me.
p.s. : my nexus s is fully functional
have you changed voltages up or down??
did you flash that rom with a clean install??
did you wipe dalvik cache before you flashed that kernel?
did you have this problem on any other kernel?

Yes, i wipe the dalvik cache, but i don't install other kernel, and i install the ics stock from gingerbread with the update.zip
hi mate, i had same problem with "cybergr v.5 ics rom", lots of reboots,
durning using camera app all screen covered in green "flickering" lines, lots of fcs, freezing boot ...
yes i did full clean install, wiping system, data, cache, cache partition, boot, dalvik and whatever else is out there to clean,
few times each, prior to my two attempts to make this room work properly on my phone.
im not OC.
it didnt work for me at all.each time the same bugs.
i have to admit, that CyberGR v.5 is freaking fast ...
i returned to my bugless rom " AndroidMe 1.1.0"
That rom has no modification, isnt the fastest around [ although still pretty fast ]
, but hey man if u looking for some really stable ics rom, try this room " AndroidMe 1.1.0"
I dont know man, i might be very well far from true, but i start thinking, that my ns [9020t] simply does not like matrix kernel, cuz that unlucky for me CyberGR was runnig matrix kernel and i had very similar problems before, when i was running NSCollab, which did include matrix kernel.
BTW find some thread/s regarding clean install , u need to do a CLEAN INSTALL;
-boot in to recovery,
-wipe data/factory reset and cache partition and Dalvik cache,
-from mounts and storage select:
-format system,
-format data,
-format cache,
-format boot.
u can repeat those step if u want, although im not sure is usefull.

[Q] [BIG Question] Installing Slim ICS Rom

Hello Everyone,
I've just tried to install the slim ics rom.
I've a Nexus S with a version of 2.3.1 android with modaco rom, and i want to "upgrade" my phone to 4.0.4 with slim ics rom.
In the rom site, i saw that i need to "download latest cm9 nightly or any ICS kernel (odin or cmw flashable)", and then: "Enter CWM Recovery, Wipe data, Format System ( In Mounts and Storage)".
I didn't get it - I don't know what to do - to wipe the date (please explain me how to do it), and then install all the cm9 nightly rom which weighs 128mb, and after that the rom?
Thanks,
Or.

Don't worry about the cm9 rom procedure, here's what to do. I have attached a wipe all zip which is flashable in cwm recovery. Some of this is a bit of overkill, but it will get the job done.
Go to cwm recovery ... wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. Return to main menu and install zip from sdcard, select zip, and flash the wipe all zip which is attached. Now flash Slim 4.2 and then flash the common zip. Reboot and you're done.

So don't I need to install cm9?
I only need to wipe as you said and then install the slim ics 4.2?
Thanks!!
Edit:
Never mind, thank you!!
I've just installed the Slim Beans (4.1.2), and it works excellent!
I'd a problem after installing cm10 and then slim beans - the google keyboard crashed, so I didn't have any keyboard. I repaired by wiping the data and cache.
Thanks, it works very good!

[Q] 4.1 ROM Recommendations

Hi all. Like the title says, I need a 4.1 ROM. 4.2 and .3 do not work with WiiMote app. I use this function a lot. I'm new to TF so I don't know my way around. I came from the Iconia which had 4.1. Can anyone recommend a stable decent performing ROM with 4.1?
Thanks
TeamEOS 3 #81 was a great 4.1 ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782410
ROM
http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/tf101//EOS-tf101-20121027-81.zip
Recommended Kernel (Really improves performance)
KatKernel_70_Lidpatch.zip
Gapps (I forget which version we used to use, but I guess these should work)
http://goo-inside.me/gapps//gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip
Make sure you are running TWRP Recovery prior to flashing the ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818452
Flash TWRP
Boot into TWRP Recovery
Wipe SYSTEM / CACHE / DALVIK CACHE (Optionally Wipe DATA / FACTORY RESET etc etc for 100% clean install)
Flash ROM
Flash Kernel
Flash Gapps
Wipe CACHE & DALVIK CACHE
Reboot
Thanks Detection. I'll check it out. It makes sense since I've been using KatKiss 4.2 so far and really like it. I think I read that he was part of EOS originally. Should be good.
Yep that's true, TeamEOS became what is now KatKiss and was definitely one of, if not the most popular ROMs for the TF back then
