Hey people,
I am looking for a asus transformer with dock to buy which i can use in college. I live in the Netherlands and the tf700 is very infamous here and not many shops have the tablet.
Even harder to find is a genuine tf700 transformer dock. I read somewhere (unconfirmed) that the tf201 dock works perfectly with the tf700? Is this true? Because an tf201 dock is easier to find here than a tf700 dock.
Thanks in advance

not sure but you could try importing a TF700T dock from Amazon Germany. As far I know they ship to the Netherlands too.

I got my TF201 dock bundled with the TF700 in the same box, so yes, it works perfectly.
Yes, the TF201 dock works perfectly with the TF700. They used to ship it with the 201 dock by default.
By not many I assume you mean 'not a single shop'; I spend 6 weeks calling nearly every shop and travelling everywhere in this stupid country to buy it for my mum.
PCking.de has it (ships to nl), as does Conrad.de (but I do not believe they ship to the netherlands). Conrad.nl has it without dock. Amazon.de has several listed as well, with and wittout dock. (there's no difference between NL and DE bought tabs, only between US, WorldWide and Asian)

Okay! I found a asus tf700t online on amazon.de, but i was wondering. Except from the shipping costs, do i need to pay anything else? Like taxes or similar? As when i buy expensive stuff from dealextreme, sometimes i need to pay extra stuff like "invoerrechten" (dont know English translation ). When i ship from germany, do i need to do the same?

Nope! That's the beautiful part of the EU, no import fees! (De invoerrechten. Vrij vervoer van goederen en diensten in de EU was een van de eerste invoeringen van de EU ).
Anything from outside the EU requires import fees, but inside the EU is unrestricted. (Cheat: If they mark it as a gift, you don't pay import costs. I always tell foreign companies to do so when I order something outside the EU )
(The only potential extra cost is administrative costs for the used payment method. (administratiekosten.) But you pay those even if you order it next door They generally only apply to Mastercard and such. Paypal, iDeal and direct tranfser usually don't have those.)

There is a lot of speculation on how much stock Asus have shipped out to various suppliers and how much is making its way into peoples hands. If you have received your Transformer could you take a second and vote on the poll.
I managed to get mine through Comet in the UK (13th April) - without the keyboard dock, of course.
Edit: Ordered the dock from Asus through their keyboard offer.
Comet on the 6th for £351. Dock ordered for £54 from Asus

Finally got one. A little disappointed. If nothing else is it too much to expect Google to release a market where I can expect the Android Market to be able to install apps all the time. Instead is seems to hang waiting to install about half the time.
Hey there!
Does anyone know where I can find screen protectors, cases etc. for TF700 in Spain? Kinda desperate here, ´cause many accessories I have found in Amazon.com are not shipped to Spain.
Any help highly appreciated:angel:
Have you tried amazon.de or amazon.co.uk?

Actually, yes, I did last night. Since the tablet will soon arrive, I ordered a case and a screen protector at Amazon UK as the fastest option. But I have no idea of their quality. So fingers crossed
Thanks anyway

Have you found anywhere that you can buy a dock with a Spanish keyboard (with ñ)? I've looked all over with no luck. An Asus rep on Youtube said that I could get one on Amazon, but I don't think that he understood that the keyboard configuration on a Spanish keyboard is different than an English keyboard.
Oh and it sounds like the TF700 should be available in Latin America around Christmas. So maybe then they will have Spanish docks in stock.
Did you tried to Aliexpress or Ebay? There are many cases and other accessories
I really want this tablet but there is a problem, I live in Belgium I've been to many stores: all the ****ing same thing:
Sorry this device is no longer sold!
Does this mean there is coming a new transformer?

They don't have the dock, but since you can use the TF201 dock as well, (which most stores probably still sell, at least here they do) you could look for one of those. (I'd reccommend the TF201 dock over the tF700. It has a bigger battery.)
I somehow doubt they'll announce a new transformer. Unless the Tegra 4 is included, NOTHING will be upgraded enough to warranty a new device release. Unless you want to buy the crap W8 RT, of course. The teaser is for a 7" tab. (look at the size in correlation to the pen.)

I'm from belgium and have an infinity since it's release. You can buy it from Amazon.de or fr (de have often cheaper prices) or from fnac.fr. Did you looked at the fnac or at the mediamarkt. Last time I checked it was there. If Asus was releasing a new transformer, the tab would be in discount. For exemple when the tf700t was released, the tf201 was still there, but at a lower price. From what part of belgium are you?

Given that Nvidia appears to be having some major power consumption/stabilisation issues with their Tegra 4 SoC, it's highly unlikely it will be used for another Transformer. So we either have to wait for Tegra 5, or wait for Asus to start and finish lengthy research and negotiations with ARM.
I've found another store called: saturn
They have it there with dock!
Btw; I don't really care a lot about a bigger battery in dock!

Saturn is in the same group as mediamarkt. I don't know why they made 2 name for such similar shop. I think it's a marketing strategy, they want to let us think that the tow shop are fighting each oder so they catch the eyes of everybody. But the prices are good, the service is fine but I would rather go in vandenbore (but the prices are very high) for a good service.

Media Markt is Saturn's "discount shop". You'd be surprised how many stores are actually using that business formula.
Frankly, I have always prefered Saturn over Media Markt. (For one, the refreshing lack of moronic employees. For laughs, go ask the average Media Markt computer-department employee what a CPU is. I've had answers ranging from "That light on the front" to "The button that turns on the computer." )

Well f*ck me, looks like you were right. I stand corrected. http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/3/43...sformer-pad-infinity-with-2560-x-1600-display
It sounds crap, though. Only 32GB, no MicroSD (so far), a 2560x1600 resolution.... And the known to have serious power-managament flaws Tegra 4. (it's said to be unable to properly regulate power distribution when used intensively. For gaming, video, streaming, etc...)
Even with 2GB RAM, unless they specifically fixed the I/O issues, this tablet is going to be even more sluggish than ours at that resolution. Especially if it doesn't have a MicroSD, which renders about 90% of our solutions void... Free RAM isn't the issue, we have plenty of that... (I still have 460MB unused left.)
And if one thinks there's already a serious lack of supported apps for the TF700's 1920x1200, imagine what'll happen when you have the ONLY 2560x1600 + Tegra 4 tablet on the market... From a company that refuses to pay bribe money to greedy companies. (EA, Ubisoft/Gameloft...)

No huge change with this new version. The only change is the the screen (but who cares when you can already watch 1080 movies at full resolution) and a better cpu, but with the i/o problems, it won't help. I rate you to wait, try booth and see if it's worth the extra price.

Don't have the money for a new tablet anyway, so I can wait Four/five years ago we didn't even think we'd have these kinds of tablets at all
True.
Just checked how much the TF700 used is selling for. only around 270£ or 400$ not worth it I dont think
I think it's worth waiting until august if you don't have a tab yet. But unless you're very rich don't buy it if you have the infinity. I think I'll wait 2 more years before upgrading, if my tab can play high-res movies and run office.
Unless I win the lottery. If I do, I buy a new infinity to everyone in this topic (€100M next week)
Envoyé depuis mon Galaxy Nexus avec Tapatalk
I'm going to remember that promise!
I agree though, CROMI speeds make the tablet perfectly functional. It's obviously frustrating not having the 'latest and greatest' device but thats technology.
Just hope the ASUS doesn't forget about the current Infinity.
What is interesting is how compatible firmwares will be etc, obviously it's not likely due to the change up to Teg 4 but still.

Haha, seriously though: for me personally, the new infinity probably isn't worth the extra cash. I already have a snappy device that does what I want it to do and has root access, so I am free to do what I want on a FHD screen.
What more could you ask for from a (one year-old) tablet?

Conrad.be still has it in stock, but only the tab. Though most stores still sell the Prime dock, though. And you can use that (in fact, in Europe they ship the TF700 with the Prime dock by default; and it has a bigger battery.)

You don't need many ROMs, you just need one good ROM and we have just that right here for the tf700.
I'm from Belgium too and I believe that you should follow the advice of the person above. The TF201 dock is better and cheaper, and you can still buy the tf700 tablet pretty much on every dutch website (and they usually ship to Belgium for free).
Hope this helped

If you are orange pay as you go and you have credit on your phone (not sure if it also has to be for a certain amount of time) 'Phones 4u' will upgrade you for 99.95 and gave me a free Moto white clip on case with it...
And it looks fantastic when you take the black back off and replace it with the white one. It looks totally classy! So good it would spoil it to put a cover or bumper on it so hopefully will not have to
Good luck
