I would like to root my device first, however after I downloaded the superuser.zip from CWM. In stock recovery mod, it cannot be installed because of `E: signature verification failed`. I googled around, it said I need to install CWM first. But it is a ecsotic device, which does not have proper CWM img yet.
So I try to create my own img. However, I stuck at the boot.img extraction step. Because the dump_image apparently require a root privilege, which will need root the device. ...
What can I do? Is ther anyway I can extrace boot.img without root privilege? Or anyway I can gain root access without CWM?
Hi, my N5 has a problem, it has the USB port broken so i can't connect it to the PC. It now has KitKat 4.4.4.
Here is my problem:
I want to update to Lollipop but i can't do it with Factory image and/or Sideload because the USB problem.
I tried to "unroot" but i couldn't do it right, i've downloaded the 5.0 OTA and my phone rebooted with a red triangle and it said "error" i know this is because i still keep my phone rooted.
So i would like to know 2 things:
1) How do i unroot definitely? because i did it before but it seems it didn't do right, i clicked "unroot" on SuperSU (i read that sometimes when you press "unroot" it doesn't erase all the folders and files so you have to do by your own, but what files and what folders are they?)
2) If i unroot and i if update to Lollipop, can i be root without using the USB port?
Of you're rooted, why would you want the stock ota anyway? There are PLENTY of 5.0 Roms in the development section with custom kernels (custom kernels are needed in 5.0 lollipop for root). Flash one of those in recovery. Make sure you have the latest TWRP which you can flash with flashify if you can't fastboot flash using USB.

Is really needed to flash a custom kernel to get root on Lollipop? I'm asking because in this thread [ROM] [STOCK] Android 5.0 LRX21O - Stock/Flashable (11/12/14) FAQ nº 2 it says:
Q: How do I get root?
A: If you want to keep the stock kernel, use CF-Auto-Root. If you flash a custom kernel, just flash the newest SuperSU ZIP afterwards.

So i understand that we can have root with stock kernel, is this ok or did i misunderstood something?
If i want to flash a custom kernel, where can i get "SuperSU" Zip to get root? and does it need to clean something after or before flashing this file? caché, data, etc?
Yes CF AUTO ROOT will allow your to root the stock image. However since youre already rooted youre running into issues flashing it successfully. I attached the SU zip below. My recomendation is if you want the stock ota image, download it from the developer thread, flash francos custim kernel for lollipop ans then flash the root zip i have attached below. I would complete a full wipe of system, data, and both caches (not internal storage or you will lose all on sd card) before flashing. Once you wipe just flash the the rom, kernel and root zip in that order.

I tried first with CF AutoRoot but it failed, but it worked with SuperSU.
He Guys.I have rooted my Samsung GTab2 GT-p3100.Now i want to flash cwm. Will it avoid root access?.Pls HElp
Flashing CWM doesn't affect your root wether you're rooted or not, You can simply flash CWM, It won't affect your root.
Just flash it via Odin.
I've successfully unlocked bootloader and installed a custom recovery how can I root my device in order to flash a custom rom?

You don't need root for flashing custom ROM
You just need unlocked bootloader which you already have done.
For rooting you can place supersu.zip file in phone memory & install that zip from recovery option
Hello,
I have got a problem to do anything with my tablet N8010. Some time ago I flashed custom ROM Lineage 14.1 (android 7.1) using custom recovery TWRP. Everything works fine except on some bugs in the ROM. These bugs convinced me to flash good old stock Kitkat ROM. But there is a problem. My USB port is somehow broken - I bless god that it charge battery at least but data communication is dead even when using different accessories. Problem is even worse because I managed to flash stock recovery over TWRP. If I recapitulate this, I cannot flash stock ROM over odin because USB data transfer does not work. I am stuck with stock recovery which allow me to flash only Samsung signed ZIPs.
The target is to either root Lineage ROM or get back custom recovery somehow.
What i have tried already:
LineageOS - addonsu-arm-signed.zip
This ZIP should be flashed through custom recovery to achieve ROOT access but thanks it is unusable unfortunately thanks of absence of Samsung's signature
All kind of ONE-CLICK-ROOT-APPS
Since i cannot root device through USB cable I have to use applications to try to reach root state. I have tried most common apps for this kind of purpose but non of these worked.
Ideas to solve this kind of problem
ADB-ROOT option in LineageOS
I can enable ADB-ROOT access in developers settings. I know there is a way of connecting to ADB via Wi-Fi. This I have tried already and I was successful.
Questions:
Will the Wi-Fi connection persist event when going to bootloader?
Is it possible to flash custom recovery at least from booted Android through ADB?
Is there any other way to flash or root recovery not from bootloader?
Use stock TAR.MD5 file
I managed to get all IMG files from stock firmware .md5 file but is it useful somehow? Can i just put them into ZIP archive and flash it through stock recovery or ADB-ROOT?
Prepare ZIP for stock RECOVERY
I would either need custom recovery ZIP (not IMG or tAR.MD5 file) to flash it through stock recovery or create / change / delete some attributes in ZIP file to be able to pass the signature verification of stock RECOVERY
This is my situation. External SD and Wi-Fi are only friend of mine in this situation and I am asking you kindly if I am stuck with ROM I have or if I have a chance to resolve the issue and flash stock ROM.
Thank you
Have a look and see if Mobile Odin or Flashfire work on this tablet .

Since i am stucked with stock recovery, the signature verifying fails. I does not work.
I have managed situation by following this article. Also, do not forget to type adb root before typing adb shell
