transparent status bar working and tested for S4 9500 - Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

Hi All
I found transparent status bar working and tested on My S4 9500 MDE, no need to delete the SystemUi.odex
Just copy the SystemUi.apk using root explorer and restart
don't forget to take backup SystemUi.apk before
Attached, enjoy

And this is your status bar but with aosp style icons. (also fully transparent)
(tested/wanam/omega)

Thanks a lot! Love this. Do you think it'll interfere with multi Window mod? I'm on t-mobile mdl stock rooted odex build

Yes I see but it was shared with me by a fellow member who says it's working for him on stock t-mobile rom? I asked if anyone knew how to and was brought here.
He said he tested and it's working for him. I really appreciate the mod. Love that transparent status bar. It's the only portion of my phone that I really works like to see transparent

Works in GT-I9500, the only problem is , I'm missing the upload/download arrows....

does this also make the status bar transparent on the lock screen when using our own wallpapers?

reporting back in...works fine so far but the only thing im noticing now is when i reboot, after the samsung boot animations load up, i get a popup that reads "Android is upgrading...Starting apps" that appears for a few seconds, and then androids loads up.
any reason why this is popping up every time, and how do i get rid of it?

i also noticed that when using this modification, on some apps (like tapatalk) the status bar was unreadable because it would have white text on a white background. normally, the status bar would be black when these apps are open so the icons would be readable. call me picky, but i dont really like how this makes the status transparent ALL the time...even when operating certain apps. i would prefer it only to affect the lock screen and home screen status bars. i know im nitpicking!
ive decided to revert back to my old SystemUI.apk and keep looking for another solution...thanks for the help tho mike!!! it was a great learning experience as well

Stock Sidekick 4G "ThemeChooser" Themes

At the bottom of this post you will find a download link to a zip containing all the themes that the sidekick came with.
Some people may be on a custom ROM like Smooth Maximus and dont have the themes, or just removed them and want them back.
This is just so no one has to go through the trouble of downloading a stock ROM the searching through all the system apps to find the themes themselves . So i've decided to package em together for ya.
This is not flashable so you have to unzip them and use a root file manager (root explorer, super manager ect.) and push them to System/app. You Need to be rooted or it wont push the apps.

this is great ill push them through with the ginger clone!

Anyone figure out how to customize these themes? (especially the colors schemes)
I can easily change the wallpaper with Android wallpaper options, but the color schemes can be difficult to read with some color combos (like black text on dark green background).
Thanks for posting these!
I'm excited to download it once they're uploaded. My phone is so lost without the themes.
Hey i pulled these directly from ayoteddy's stock deodexed rom. All you have to do is push them to your system apps directory and restart your phone. Tested on my phone. Also sorry i had computer problems so had to upload them to my 4shared on my phone. http://www.4shared.com/zip/7Hu9zeYZ/sidekick_4g_themes.html

[THREAD UPDATE] S3 Status Bar & Toggles for ICS! :)

After getting immense help from Kataria.Vikesh and few awesome advises from The Droidster and MJ.Vikram, And thanks to The maker of these mods who comes from SGS2 forum. :highfive:
Also a big thanks to UMBERTO1978 who comes from the GS2 from for helping me out! ADDING more zips in a few hours!
Here are the mods for the status bar
It is fully functional if works. No bugs should be faced :fingers-crossed:
But will deifinitely work with ANY custom rom deodexed.
All zips are cwm flashable..you can try any..
After flashing do not forget to wipe cache and dalviks cache.
If you face any problem, give me time to solve it. I am a bit slow and almost brand new to this :silly:
Try at your own risk, do have a cwm backup
I have not made these zips. Just made compatible with our device
How to flash!
1. Place Zip file in phone.
2. Boot into CWM.
3. Flash the zip file.
4. Wipe cache and dalviks cache
5. Enjoy S3 toggles.
Where it works
Presently the toggles work in any of the ICS based custom roms deodexed,
Few Errors/Disabled aspects
Animation diabled..will be updated soon
Flashilight might be slow..be patient..finding a solution
SCREENSHOTS added with the MOD's Name over it..
If you need any other style check here and revert/pm me...ill will update the thread with it
Thank you
Hi buddy nice to see this from you But this is development thread, So you need to give more details like on which ROM this will work, what is importance each zip file and some screen shots etc....

EDIT: It would be really nice if you could add the steps you have done in the OP so that other dev's can benefit.

It is just there in the Angeeks rom over the ZSLPD Stock rom.

Transparent accuweather widget [11/4/13]

Here's a apk for a 100% transparent accuweather widget. It still has the animations cloud, rain, sun and star effects so that's pretty neat. I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted to install this but then again I never tried installing it unrooted. I used ES file Explorer to install the apk into device/system/apps. Make sure to make a copy of your stock accuweather and odex file before you delete them just incase you don't like the transparent widget. Delete the stock accuweather widget and odex then replace it with the transparent accuweather apk in system apps then reboot. After reboot you will have to go back into your widgets and pull the new transparent widget back to a main page. I've never tried having the stock apk installer install the app so I don't think I would try that unless you don't mind resetting up your phone if it doesn't work. Install this at your own risk and I'm not responsible if you mess up your phone.
Big thanks to jovy23 for this. link to main page for this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470702

Did you remove the original accuwather2013 apk and odex files?
This zip I believe is for deodexed rom so if your rom still odex,
go to system/app/accuweather2013.odex, delete it.
and delete it
Just in case anyone is wondering. Yes you can flash this with ss. Just don't reboot just power the phone off and back on to avoid issues

I believe it worked on the stock TMO rom, its been along time since I ran a stock rom so I don't really remember. I know it worked on ATT stock rooted odexed rom. Make a copy of your stock accuweather and odex file just in case it doesn't work but Im sure it will work.

I added another transparent widget but this one has no border, thanks to deviant for this!

Of course sir i have a full stock i9500 ( just rooted and bloat cleaned ) but here is a tip search for a AROMA FILE MANAGER place it on your sdcard then go into recovery , go to MOUNT & STORAGE and select MOUNT SYSTEM then select install zip and choose the AROMA FILE MANAGER , then move the framework-res.apk to /System/Framework ( it will replace the original so backup before ) make sure the correct permissions are set and reboot that's what i did it works flawlessly without any problem i got the Clear Blue UI and Power Menu icons :good:
EDIT : Here's the link for AROMA http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2231581&stc=1&d=1378202418

The black text on selection boxes?? It's color related and I don't have enough experience to edit xml's. You need to decompile the framework in order to edit xml's

I found white text on white background on some apps. I use galaxy s5 browser and this is the screenshoot. Thanks!

That's because it's optimized for the s4 apps with holo dark design. I detected the image that causes that but I don't use s5 browser because actually the community wasn't able to fix the smartscroll isue.
Soon I'll update 2 versions for Holo Light and Holo Dark design.
How do I install? Replace the original framework-res with this one?
Well done vicl89, not tested yet buy it do look nicer
