Ok so after many a month of wanting to finally get 4.2.2 onto my device I finally tried today(since lg doesn't try to update their flagships). After finally thinking i got it by using FreeGee and supposedly unlocking the boot loader i boot into recovery only to find out my phone has been softbricked. I have looked everywhere and can find no possible solution to fix my phone.
PLEASE I will pay someone $10 paypal if they help me fix this.
Some info
-I CAN enter download mode
-factory reset mode no longer works and only makes audible usb "dings" on my computer when holding down the vol down + power buttons.
-If i try to turn phone off by holding power button it reboots 3 seconds later to the LG logo and sits there.
I will have this forum post open 24/7 so please if you can help me, kudos and $10 to you.

Basically you need to enter download mode and flash install a rom and then revert to factory rom, or restore using the lg update tool. Use the search bar and type any of the following phrases lg optimus g restore with lg update tool restore lg optimus g or just go to the lg optimus g forum and browse

Hi
Can anyone help please? Also, are there anyone having similar issue.
Issue: Pressing the power button is not starting my device. In order to power on I have to connect charger (not usb with PC) and then press power button. What I have noticed is that once I switch off my phone it gets in to "emergency/recover mode". I came to this conclusion because after I switch the phone off, take battery out and put back in and then connect usb cable with my PC. I can see OMAP driver loads and also in the PC's Device Manager I am able to see LG CDMA.... under "ports".
It was not like this until i started several attempts to flash baseband.
Sequence of actions
Here is the sequence of actions I went through and end up having my phone at this stage
1. Followed the procedure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17177547&postcount=2) step by step using LG flash tool. The application was constantly crashing (PC is running on XP pro). Before flashing baseband I flashed GB hence I lost radio.
2. To bring back my radio I had to reflash 2.2 following the same procedure (emergency recovery method) in the link given in baseband flashing.
3. After finishing the recovery flash I could not start my phone using power button. I started thinking that I bricked my phone. I left it for a day. Then I thought that the battery is fully drained and is the reason for not powering on. When I connected charger I started seeing LG logo and also the phone was started. I was more excited and happy that my phone was not bricked. After this point I need charger connected everytime when i want switch on my phone. so, I am scared to swtich off my phone unless I have charger handy to me.
4. I removed all the application (LG flashing related) including LG drivers I installed before. Now I reinstalled all the necessary app and drivers for baseband flashing. This time baseband flashing was done successfully (though at 22%). Then I flashed GB rom and everything works fine.
The only issue i have is, I can not switch on my phone without charger connected.
If anyone knows solution please help me.
Thanks in advance.

I used to have the same problem,
I think its a problem about boot,
when I use lg tools it always gives error, because phone wont boot without charger, so it cant continue upgrading
I try flasing original kdz file from lg flash tool, and use emergency rescue mode,
I dont know but it somehow repair the boot
you can fix permissions before you use lg tools.
what error do you have while using lg tool?
can you post the screen capture

After i uninstalled all the drivers (incl. LG tools) and reinstalled and I am not seeing any more error while using LG tools. I even flashed GB baseband twice but no use. The link you have given explains the same issue I have.
I think you have to install froyo version of baseband and firmware first,
then try

STUCK AT LG LOGO:
with factory reset!
1) Start LG Mobile update
2) Power off your phone without USB cable
3) Connect the USB cable and wait for the LG logo and the annimation battery
4) Pressing Vol.up + power 6-7 seconde wait for the LG logo and The screen turns off
5) Again pressing Vol.up + power 6-7 seconde and wait until the drivers are installed (LG Mobile update detects your phone and the screen is always off)
-If this is the first time the driver install redone the item 5).
6) Click on User/Support then emergency mode, insert your IMEI and click on check
7) Wait for download and upgrading (15/20 min)

Hi everybody there. Am facing a huge problem on my LG G3. I don't know exactly what LG G3(Verizon,Sprint or whatever) it is. I am Malian (West African) and the phone was working fine. One morning it just didn't turn on normally. when I turn it on the sceen lights up and won't even progress to LG logo. Just a dimmed screen with black background. When I hold Vol+ down and plug the phone to my laptop it brings me to recovery mode with the red danger panel on the android logo. From there I can access recovery mode by clicking on the Power key. I see the different options(reboot system now, apply update from ADB etc.) To resolve it,I referred to a former threat . I downloaded Europe Common 16G D85510A_00.kdz ( hope this matches my 16GB G3) from a previous thread and tried to apply it thru LG flash tool 2014 but it's impossible because of,I think, the absence of download mode. I also tried holding down Vol- and plugging the phone. Drivers are installed but when I begin flashing the Lg support tool pops up and says phone is not connected.Briefly let's say that Recovery mode works but not download mode. Please help!!!: confused

I followed the instructions on these video on youtube named ( solucion fastboot LG G2 D802 (PANTALLA NEGRA) ) User: ansiosillo
after finishing the process I click the fastboot reboot and my phone screen went black, after this whenever I plug it in to my computer multiple disk drives appear and it says that they need to be format, but my phone screen is black. It's an Lg G2 32G model from T-mobile. It was unlocked and Rooted.

The same thing happened to me after I rooted my device. Can you boot the phone or does it loop the LG Logo?
I'm not sure I was doing the same thing, but I screwed up some bootstack flashing and ended up in a boot loop. It wasn't until I started fooling around with the volume down/power buttons that I got somewhere. Most times it would shut off the phone, but once in a while after shorter presses I was able to get the Factory Reset option to come up which allowed me to boot into recovery. I luckily had things on the device that allowed me to correct my mistakes and now have a working G2 on Cyanogenmod 12.1
Did you try enter to download mode (power+volume up key when plugged) or hard reset ?
this was happening to me.
do you have twrp or CWM on it currently?
if so...
when the phone is off
press and hold volume down and power.
when LG logo appears release power button while still holding the volume down button.
repress and hold the power button while still holding the volume down button until you get the master reset screen.
press power button 3 times,
on mine it didnt reset it took me into twrp
also, I realized this was happening to me because I had used the LG flash tool to go back to Kitkat stock. I had not flashed the 30b bootstack and tried to install the CM 13 Nightly. It didnt like that. All was fixed with installation of the new bootstack.
Best of luck.
Please guys I need your help!
Phone model: Lg G Stylo h631 T-Mobile version.
Today I was using my phone and after finishing a call, my phone started to update itself. Then I received a error message. After that, I get stuck with a dead android guy on the screen, and I get the message "no command". I try Different combinations of buttons to solve this problem: Volume Down + Power release and then press the buttons again went the LG logo appear and have no luck. Then I try Volume Up + Power, also have no luck. I think I try almost every possible combination an nothing is working.
If anyone has any idea how to solve this issue please help me. Any help would be appreciated.
(Sorry for my bad English)
Make sure you download or have downloaded and installed the LG drivers from the LG website or any other reliable source or your phone will not be able to recover.
Unplug the phone, take out the battery and once the phone is completely off, replace the battery. Keep the phone powered off and unplugged. Plug a data capable (the usb that came with the phone is best) usb into a PC. Press the VOLUME UP button and HOLD it WHILE plugging the usb into your phone, (The PC should already be connected before plugging in the phone) continue to hold the VOLUME UP button until you pass the LG splash screen and you should then be in DOWNLOAD MODE. From there you can reflash the stock ROM that came with the phone. The stock ROMs are pretty easy to find here on XDA.
If you don't know what flashing a ROM is or means then XDA has plenty of guides for that as well. To return to stock you will need the LG Flash Tool or LG UP depending on which version you want to flash. Marshmalllow uses the LG UP program and Lollipop uses the LG Flash Tool. You can find guides and all the tools\software you will need to fix your phone right here on XDA or a little Google searching.
