I bought a used Note 32gb N8013 from Amazon and it's rooted the only problem is that it's is on version 4.0.4 and I can't update it through the normal status update or through KIES. How do I update my new to me note? I know it is rooted because I got one of the root checker apps and when I tried the OTA update it brought me to CWM. I'm not worried about losing root

OTA fails with root .
Suggest factory reset then update via Kies .
Or flash stock rom from sammobile.com or xda .

Hello i have a N8000 and today i tried to root with N8000XXALGA_N8000OXXALG5_PHE_RootGalaxyNote.com.tar a Firmware with injected root.
This fails and then i flashed with Odin an older firmware N8000XXCMC3_N8000OXACMC3_DBT.
This works, but then i can not get any update over KIES or OTA.
Before i tried to root, all works and i got update over KIES to N8000XXCMC5_N8000OXACMC5_DBT
Can you help me what's to do to repair OTA or update over KIES?
Binar counter is ok and Status is official.
Thanks

What do you want ???
Stock then dont root or install firmware .
Root means no OTA .
Flashing different firmware to original may mean Kies does not recognize and no update .
Try returning to original firmware .

Hi Guys,
Here is my question:
-I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100, and I upgraded it to 4.1.2 (OFFICIAL) via ODIN, and after I installed the ClockworkMod v. 6.0.2.3 using Rom Manager. I later learned that a friend had been bricked their Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830m with the OTA update to 4.0, and everything seemed to indicate that the culprit was the Clockworkmod that he had installed.. Now, it appeared to me an OTA update alert on my tablet (which should not appear, since the current state of my tablet is "modified") in order to upgrade to 4.2.2.
Well, my question is if I can upgrade my Tablet via OTA even with ClockworkMod, or is it better to update using ODIN...

Um, I think you should do a full backup with ClockworkMod and start experimenting...

because i cant find it on samfirmware yet

No, but Sammobile's team is working on it. My current 4.1.2 rom is from Hong Kong and I downloaded it from Sammobile :
AP5100ZSDMB2CP5100ZSDMA1CSC5100ZSDMB2
sadly i think the update you are receiving is P5100ZSDMH1 which is an update to 4.1.2 (not the 4.2.2 update)
i will try the update on my tab i hope i am wrong :fingers-crossed:
Hi
I rooted my note 10.1 quite a while ago (~6 months)
The method I used I believe was to flash something using odin (cf autoroot? )
Anyway I just wanted root to be able to use sixaxis but was happy with stock rom. Now it has been a while I would like to update my rom and by going into su and temporarily disabling root I can download the ota update from samsung but it refuses to install.
Does anyone know a way to just remove root so I can install the ota update and not have to do a full wipe.
I could download the rom from samsungfirmware and then install with odin but would that not require a wipe?
Thanks

No suggest you use Kies .
Hey everyone.
I am using this phone for about a year now. When i originally got it in october of last year (HW version g900p.04), I was able to use towelroot with no issue. Since then I have installed a total of 1 OTA update, and immediately reran towelroot, which still worked.
I am currently at android 4.4.2, NE5.
I would love to just get a stock rom that still has root, but I haven't found much. I found an odin-flashable ROM of the latest OTA update, but it isn't rooted. Apparently you can install towelroot and that will root it for you.
Can I just install the latest OTA updates, and then use towelroot to reroot? Or would I need to odin flash recovery too?
Any help would be appreciated.
Just tried it on latest OTA and no go
