i used cm10.1 non kexec modified by altered..oc to 1.2ghz..good battery life

Non Kexec CM10.1 has UI Tearing , CM10 doesn't have this problem .

I've had CyanogenMod 10.1 kenex for about 4 days and haven't had any issues.

Best ROM threads are frowned upon since the answer is subject to the users opinion and varies according to each person's habits and needs. They're all great in their own right, and worthy of your consideration. It won't hurt to try them all and form your own opinion. You'll most likely learn a lot in the process, and that's always a good thing.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.

Yeah. As said above, you should try and find it yourself. Bugs are usually mentioned in the OP itself. So it'll be easy to know which are the bugs.
IMO, cm10.1 with kexec. That's what I'm running on since more than a month now. No major bugs. Some have black screen issue. But I'm lucky to not have that

thanks everyone for your opinions. i think i would try cm10.1 with kexec first. is this the right thread..?

CM9 is fast and stable?
Not worth waiting for kernel 3?
CM9 still has quite a few outstanding bugs and I wouldn't recommend it for daily use. (been there, done that).
If you're looking for a non-sense rom that works, try CM7 or derivatives like Reaper.
I'm using a CM10 derivative right now called Andromadus, which is Jelly Bean based and it works 100% except for the front camera and a few graphical glitches (that have a workaround).
CM10 is miles and miles beyond CM7 or ICS in terms of performance on our phone, so I would suggest you try the latest test build if you're feeling adventurous. You won't regret it.

Agreed. I've been using the latest 24-2 build with 80n Kernel. Have had battery issues with 80n, but I've enjoyed the experience till date. The battery issues will surely be sorted out soon.

Just switched from ios to droid

Hey everybody I just switched to DROID from using ios the past 4 years and I'm really happy with my choice. The iPhone 5 was the last straw for me so instead I picked up a feature packed galaxy siii. I want to thank you guys for the tutorials you guys have posted as it really helped in understanding how to flash the custom roms. I have my siii set just how I want. I just have one question if someone doesn't mind answering. When the official jellybean update comes out will I need to revert back to stock rom to update or can I update ota on a custom rom? Please excuse me if I didn't post this in the right section. This is my first post. Thanks for all your hard work.
I believe you would have to revert to stock and then do the ota.

Just wait for one of the Devs to do their magic on Jelly bean when it comes out. I'm sure it wont take them to long to do.
Congrats! Btw, if you're already running a custom rom, then you should probably just wait until the developer updates it, or install a new JellyBean rom when you're ready.

It kinda depends on how long you are willing to wait for the update. You definitely won't be able to accept the OTA update if you are running a custom rom, but devs will have a flashable version on XDA available almost immediately after the official is released. A couple of days later custom roms will start appearing.
Another reason to wait is there is always the possibility that the update will in some way disable root. This has happened before with several VRZ phones. So I would wait(a couple of hrs) till XDA gets their hands on the update before making any moves.

wait for a dev to release the official TouchWiz JB, then wipe data from cwm recovery and flash away. Fyi there currently is a TouchWiz JB leak by Incubus in the dev section, but its has bugs...If your looking for stability; Touchwiz ICS>AOSP(paranoidandroid,aokp,cm10)>Touchwiz JB Leak
And to help you, Synergy is a very stable ICS touchwiz ROM. Paranoid is a very great ROM but it might be a bit confusing for you since you're new with the tablet mod n tweaking APKs and such. CM10 is good but I like AOKP better for the customization

Nitro dont release builds based on a leaks...so until we get a official Touchwiz JB rom from VZW I doubt he will release anything!
Welcome to the Android community!
There are lots of good ROM choices and Jelly bean is available as a teaser if you'd like to check it out
My favorite ICS ROM is Synergy
My favorite JB ROM is Jellywiz
Enjoy and happy flashing !!!
You can make a nandroid backup of your current setup which saves everything, all your data/games. and try one of the current JB roms. I am currently on ICS cleanrom, and been thinking about waiting for a 100% working one to come around. The nandroid backup is so you can easily go back to your old setup if you don't like the newer rom.

He's working on an aosp JB build, has a working alpha right now, but until he gets his device this week, he can't work out the bugs quickly. You will see eclipse...I'm guessing pretty quickly after he gets his phone

I second that!! Cleanrom is a GREAT first rom and it gives you a chance to mess with overclocking a lil too... Just go in SMALL steps... Although mine is a champ at 1.99ghz & stable as hell! No more damn itunes and buying stuff that isn't really yours..? Have a GREAT time surfing the threads but just take some time to read the rules as well cause they are quick to break you off some! What is the most stable and complete JB rom?

All I want is a very stable rom that stays true to android and doesn't break any features. Sorry if this is a basic question.
Quick answer is nine of the JB roms are as stable as the ICS ones, and the most stable are TW roms. You have to try out and decide for yourself I guess.
I like paranoid android.
All JB roms have issues. In waiting until CM10 fix the low audio in video record issue then it would be my daily driver.

+1. I am for the Paranoid Android as well. There are some "very minor' nuances but overall its a rock solid ROM. In some other thread i reported that I needed to settle down on a ROM since i was jumping around too much with flashing different ones. This is the one I settled with.

[Q] What ROMs can I choose from?

Hi, just bought a GS3 Verizon. I want it rooted, and working without well known bugs.(GPS, calling, almost no bugs) I prefer 4.1 jelly bean. What ROM should I choose? The ROM based on the leaked VZW ROM?

Stock deodexed j1 touchwiz...if you look around you can manually add what mods you want. I prefer this over flashing the custom touchwiz rom variants....seems less buggy and smoother imo.

I've been having good luck with Synegy's latest. Smooth, good performance, good battery, and just enough added functionality over stock to make it work well.
I liked clean rom, jellywiz, and my current rom tasteofbeans 3.1. They all were :good:

What about using separate mods makes it less buggy?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Because you flash them 1 at a time and if you flash one and it made everything bug out you can just nandroid back. If your on a ROM with a crap load of tweaks and mods and something goes wrong you're just screwed until the dev can figure out which mod he added is causing the problems. A lot of the time the mod bugs are left alone until all the big bugs are worked out and then they track down what's causing the smaller bugs

[Q] Most Complete Least Buggy JB ROM?

That's subjective. If there was one be all and end all least buggy and "best" ROM I imagine we all would be running it.
What I consider an issue may not be that big of a thing at all for you. Some phones play with each ROM a little differently as well and some bugs may affect yours that don't affect mine.
So you are already doing the best thing flashing and seeing what works best for you and with your phone. The OP of each ROM should tell you major issues affecting each: video not working, torch a little wonky, etc. So that will help you whittle it down a little. Other than that welcome to fun of flashing.

Well it doesn't hurt to ask the opinions of others so long as we all realize that they're opinions and not concrete absolute truths. Right now I'm running the LiquidSmooth R8 ROM and anything that uses voice input crashes. This means JP Google Search is borked! Now is this just my issue? Would a re-flash fix it or is it a known issue? Inquiring minds wanna know....

Ive been running CM10 mainly its super smooth and has good battery life. Remics JB rom is really good also
I've never really used voice input, so Im not going to be the greatest help there. Reflashes do clear up some issues, wouldn't hurt. Maybe even a fresh download of the ROM. If you havent already try inquiring in that particular ROMs thread, to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. Good luck
Edit:
If its google search it may be your gapps, make sure you have the most current.

No I haven't , I once tried CM10 from scott. really an amazing rom but i was having lots of problems, while flashing the gaps,
I was doing may be wrong but i was flashing the right things i know, but well somehow i was not able to flash the rom properly, so I flashed this one , its only been a week, i am on this one.
But yes i will definitely give it a shot.
Is this one a complete daily driver ?
Little bugs doesn't matter(it depends) at all, stock had millions of them.!!
I am on 4.1.2 JB, If Slim bean is coming up with 4.2 I am going to try it for sure
Right now really happy with Liquid Smooth.

The thing you have to remember about these JB roms on our Infuse is that we are still using a modded GB kernel. Samsung as far as I know (I could be wrong) hasn't released the kernel source code for our device and it's making it very hard for them to update the kernel. I use Scott's CM10 4.2.1 right now and it's basically been bug free. It doesn't even have all the CM source code merged into it yet. I've never had a rom with so much free memory before! I think it's amazing what he is doing with our old device and he deserves MAJOR props and donations for all his efforts!

Yeah its slim bean that I have personally built from source. I really have zero bugs and use it as my daily driver. I mean it has the same bugs as any jb ROM because we all compile from Scotts cm10 build. Its the exact same as CM 10 except with a TON of custom features! I'm currently working on a 4.2.1 version that looks to hopefully be my smoothest yet. Check it out and lemme know what you think
