In an effort to understand the benefits of buying a higher class micro sd card. Post your external read/write speeds for your S4, and specify the class and the speeds you get when the card is used on your desktop.
I know internal storage is always faster than external storage, I just want to see if I'm that much better off returning my 16gb for a 32gb S4. Don't really want to since I have and prefer the white one, and I'd have to trade in for the black one.

Also can anyone help me, anytime I have my SD Card mounted, Media server ends up draining the battery. I formatted it on the phone and just moved my pictures back and it still does the same thing.

I cleared recents before testing not sure if that would be a huge difference. It may just be a faster card in general. I intentionally bought a slightly more expensive one since it's rated at slightly higher speeds.

Before running any of these tests, be sure to:
1. Open Task Manager > RAM, and click "Clear memory".
2. Open Recents (hold home button) and click on the Clear all button in the bottom right corner.
After that, open A1 SD Bench and run both tests. You should have a more accurate reading.

So just curious what benchmark score are others getting with this phone and what roms/kernels/mods are you using to get these scores I am using cm7 and virtuos v2 and my antutu benchmark is 3454 but I saw somone with 6439 how is this possible?

I got 4617 this afternoon after I learned of this program. I just got my slide last week. It is still stock, but rooted to remove the bloat.
I'm also running overclocked at 1782 mhz it doesn't make sense that I'm only getting a score of 4334 I think I might try a different setup..... not sure

I like antutu as well, have found it to be decent.
Sdcard was a class 4 SanDisk MicroSD. Can't wait to pick up another class 10 and get my sd speed back.
Gonna grab a 32gig card on black friday sales, definitely getting a PNY one, thinking about a lexar one as a secondary.

So I have been trying to install this all night .comnd was doing my own trial and error before replying but I am unable to install it it says unable to read zip (bad) aborting instalation ? Yeah I do maybe cuz I work so much and don't always have the time to call and I get quite a few voicemails a day so its convenient for me. Also if u need anything I am always willing to test and help I am new to the forum but not to modding I have rooted many phones many ways on many carriers with various recoverys and roms I am no pro like you by far but I am not a noob lol I just hope to lend some help to this phones development

When I want to quote especially ones at the bottom of the thread I can't. I have to hit either the above or below replies in order to select the replies I want.
When I do manage to click the right reply to quote and press quote, the wrong reply is selected when I'm in editing mode...:banghead:

Not had a single bug so far. Seems fine for me

Yes, I use tapatalk instead but to be honest, it's REALLY flaky at the moment. It was flaky on my S3 and it's just as flaky on my N5. I think I'm going to just use Chrome.

It's made by Tapatalk, it's not an XDA forum member collaboration or anything. Perhaps it should be.
There's a monster thread about this in General...essentially admins are working on a cure. It was awful today, but seemed to be back to snappy for a few hours, but now slow is back with lots of 'unable to connect to database' errors, and general sluggishness.

No offence but the XDA app is pathetic. I have stopped using it all together because tapatalk is much better. The app ui and "smoothness " is worthy enough to give you brain and eye cancer..
The xda app is slow as hell, doesn't matter if I'm on Wifi or 3g+. I don't use it anymore.

Mine tends to alternate between 'quite usable' to 'slower than a sloth'. Started using tapatalk a few days ago, a lot more consistent performance.. Might go back to the XDA app when the app gets fixed or a major (good) overhaul.
Xda app is patchy in general. For me,it is massively improved using ART runtime. More than any other app improvement. Gone from waiting for the first page to instant loading everything.

I couldn't use it. Every time I went to scroll for more threads, it kept showing me duplicates and jumped around. The tapatalk app doesnt have this issue AFAIK

I've had non Samsung ones in the past and they work. The downside to the one's I've tried is that they don't fit perfectly and often times look and fell cheap. So I've mostly learned that you get what you pay for on cases. I have one more coming from China that hopefully will at least somewhat impress me for the $5 it was.

I was searching ebay and miniinthebox.com for alternative and cheaper alternatives for the samsung official s view cover.. but then I wondered if they work..? Do you get the same functions as when you buy the official one?

Of course you could just go with an official view cover for $10 as I posted a couple of weeks ago...
