Do you have SuperCID? You can check by booting into fastboot (bootloader) and typing this in...
fastboot oem readcid, if it doesn't say 11111111 then you aren't SuperCID.
Type in:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
then
adb reboot-bootloader
and last
Type fastboot oem readcid, if it says 11111111 then you have SuperCID and you should be able to flash any rom.

Do you have the drivers properly installed ? Get htc sync from htc website it will give you the drivers then try again whit adb..
If that doesn't work grab a RUU run it on your computer you'll be back to stock s-on but you'll have to redo everything tho..

Seeing as your CID has changed, you probably have to boot to recovery and flash a new rom OR reflash over the current CM9RC2.

That is strange... try another rom seeing as CM9 isn't working, I mean... maybe something is happening with that... I don't know what it could be but it's always worth trying something else. Maybe after another rom you could flash back to CM9 and it'll work? I would definitely try flashing the FW again.

The problem is that you've done so many different things now that the real problem could be burried somewhere and hard to trace.
At this point, since nothing is making this better, you may try the full RUU total wipe and start over method described in one of the posts above.
It'll take a little longer that to do it than simple reflashing a new ROM since you'll have to reroot and everything but it will almost certainly work. And it might take less time than trying 15 other things that 'might work'.
It's also got your highest probably of success since you don't know what the cause of the problem is. The RIL method WILL work unless it's a hardware fault.
Also check the website the Rom is on and see if that particular Rom requires 3.33 firmware ?
Although most run on both 3.32 and 3.33. It's worth checking. I wish you the best. I'm sure you will get it up and running soon. Best wishes.

Agreed. I was fairly sure that the SuperCID would fix it but since it's still crashing it might be best to try a full RUU wipe and just start things over.

Sounds good man, looking forward to hearing whether it worked for ya. *fingers crossed*
The bootloop thingy can either be because you dont have 4ext and flashed the rom whit cwm.. or you didnt wipe...
Have you checked the md5 hash of the rom if it matches ? Corrupted downloads can happen even tho its uncommon.

Hey guys,
Just bought the HTC One X and I have no idea what to do. I know how to fastboot since I have been using the Galaxy Nexus, but I am not sure what to do with the phone right now. It boots in to the HTC logo, and then turns off and then keeps doing that. I can get into fastboot mode and use it but I have no idea what files to use. It was originally with Rogers I believe, and then it was unlocked. So if anyone can help me that would be great! I do not care about losing files or anything, I just want to fix this. Please can someone help
I am on a Mac, but if I need to be on a windows computer I will,
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!!

PC Instructions (since RUUs don't work on macs)
1. Get to your bootloader (hboot)
2. Select the FASTBOOT option, you should now be in the fastboot menu
3. Make sure you have HTC sync installed on your pc (for drivers and such...this should probably be step 1)
4. Plug your phone into your computer, FASTBOOT should turn into FASTBOOT USB once you have the drivers installed
5. Relock your bootloader if it is unlocked using the command 'fastboot oem lock'
6. Run the RUU
7. Go make yourself some coffee while you wait for it to complete (it takes like 10-15 minutes)
Did you get it fixed? If not try to take some help from niceppl and 18th.abn

I'm so thankful for the response! Ok from the. Start used the hadoon2000 all in one did the unlock through htcdev. So how I must have missed a step because s-on is on. Booted phone worked went in re started debugging and the installed superuser through twrp. Phone booted and worked. Installed Rom toolbox, beats audio hack, busy box, titanium. Did a sys, and app backup. Went ahead and went through the beats hack installed and rebooted. Phone turned on as normal. Then went in Rom toolbox changed font and boot animation. Rebooted and then wouldn't boot past t mobile image. Ok so this is where I think I blew it. Did battery pull, went into bootloader. Went into twrp. looked for a restore nothing titanium back up folder empty on phone but found when mounted to pc. Wiped catch wiped dalvic, now the stupid wiped the system.. now can't get out of Twrp says "are you sure you want to reboot no os found" I'm really hoping this is fixable

Thank for your patients with me. I guess the ruu part just has me stumped. I cant find a RUU 11.22 or close.Im sure I can execute if I had the right one not sure where to find. This is such a bummer
I never thought it'd happen to me..
Anyways.
I'm on Virgin Mobile in Canada, just recently unlocked my bootloader and rooted.
The process was bumpy but ultimately successful..ish.
I couldn't actually flash any roms. Not sure if it was because of the bumpy root process,
but every rom would just bootloop and I'd have to restore and deal with HTC Sense.
Great.
I had downloaded a Liquid [somethingorother] ROM from my PC and flashed it, with blind hope.
It was looping, as I half-expected.
I had this crazy idea that my roms were looping because I had neglected to press the "Perm Root" button
on the AIO root tool I had used.
Ecstatic, I rushed up and pressed that button as soon as I could.
The process went off without a hitch, but the next time I tried to boot something odd happened.
Every time I boot the HTC splash screen stating "this is for development purposes only.. etc" pops up.
-the one that would pop up when entering the bootloader - EVERY TIME.
I tried to restore but this splash screen still shows up, then loops on the HTC ONE screen....
AAAAAND that's where I'm at now. I attempted to factory restore from the bootloader, which would
erase my backups and whatnot. I don't know how infamous this issue is but I am unable to mount my storage.
Plenty other people seem to have this issue.
So, is there anything I can do?
You should try to run an RUU, then report back.

The most common reason for ROMs hanging on boot splash or looping is that you failed to fastboot flash the boot image that comes with the ROM.
The good news is if you can detect the phone in your computer, your phone isn't bricked.
That message you mentioned is normal for all of us flashers
I bet you didn't notice the "tampered" flag or you would have freaked out even more

Yes I think It does because I've tried to use the bell ruu about 5 times and it'll start but then I'll get error 155 a little while into it

ahhhh i see. ok man your DONE!! becasue that error 155 means that your bootloader is unlocked. and to flash the ruu you would have to relock. but you said you're brick nothing happens to your device?

ohhhhh that makes sense, and I think I'm bricked. I'm pretty sure I can run adb commands though. maybe I should try oem lock again command again? this is exactly what the top says
***TAMPERED***
***RELOCKED***
*** Security Warning***
I should point out that when I start the ruu the screen actually goes to a black screen with "htc" on it and that's it. and I tried to lock it again via abd and it says its already locked

Ok I should also say that when ever I restart phone it goes right into bootloader. I'm guessing because ruu erased everything ? should i maybe unlock boot loader, root, download stock rom and then try rue again?

Man, I never read anything good anywhere in these forums lol. This phone is so awesome as is, I really don't think it is worth the trouble unlocking and rooting and all. Maybe it is cause only the bad gets posted but there seems to be a lot of it. This phone is definitely meant for the normal person who cares nothing about flashing it seems. I would love to be able to just root it for root-required apps, themes and Volume wake and/or slide to wake but it seems to be more trouble than it's worth.
Cyanogenmod 10 makes this phone 10 times the awesome.

Unlock your phone again. Change your CID to HTC__001. Then run an unbranded RUU.

Was running RootBox, s-off, etc, and everything was working. Suddenly phone froze and rebooted. But ever since it won't get past the htc startup screen. It just keeps rebooting from there. I've RUU'd back to stock but it still does the same thing. I flashed a recovery and rebooted to recovery from fastboot but it won't get to it. Any ideas?
EDIT: after RUU back to stock, bootloader still will say s-off, not sure if it changed that in the past

Redownload ruu, check md5 retry. If it doesn't work, seems hardware related. corrupt/damaged storage or something.
didn't work

What happened? did the RUU fail or go complete but no change to the phone?
same thing. RUU runs completely and succeeds. Reboots after the RUU, hangs at the HTC screen for ~10 sec, reboot, and repeat
lost
sorry.

Sorry man, that's messed. It seems to me like internal storage is damaged. Needs a new board. Warranty?
I'm gonna ignore the guy who couldn't be bothered to start his own thread and hijacked this one.
Lol I am too. Yeah, sucks I just had to get an exchange less than a month ago because of another hardware problem. Thanks

Did you try doing a complete system wipe . Also sounds like you may need to push it from your pc to phn.
