[Q] Usim 3 on 9300 - General Questions and Answers

I recently bought a Star G9300+ which I think it's the same as a HDC galaxy S3 i9300
My problem is that it doesnt read my 3 usim (3 is an italian operator and I live in Italy). My usim works in any other device.
When i put it into my device it asks me pin but after that it says "No sim detected in slot 1" (In italian of course).
Any other sim (but not USIMs) works in my device.
My device is: (from the site where i bought it)
Model G9300 +
Band 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz(IMT-2000)
OS Android 4.1.1
CPU MTK6577 Cortex A9 dual core, 1.0GHz
ROM 4GB
RAM 1GB
I want to know if i can make USIMs work in my device.
Thanks

Hi: did you gain root privileges on your phone? In case, you might try to change the IMEI codes (using those of some old or broken phones), sometimes it may solve that issue.
Ciao, Luca
P.S.: is it a dual SIM phone, isn't it? So, did you try both the SIM slots? Usually on dual SIM chinese smartphones, one slot is GSM-only, and therefore an H3G USIM cannot work in it.

I know i put the sim in the GSM/WDCMA slot because the other is only GSM
Ciao lucignolo ^^
EDIT: I'm rooting using an italian traduction of a guide someone found in xda forum but i actually cant find it.
It involves downloading from the phone a copy of the rom for put the things back if something goes wrong.
Using SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01 when i click read back and connect my phone nothing happens.
The phone is shut down and has no battery because they told me to do so.
In windows device manager there is an unidentified device wich is my phone.
I tried to update the driver with the ones provided with istallation.
I get a message with something like this (it's in italian...) : the .INF file of another producer dont has the right information of digital signature
Here I put the image of the italian message:
(ok no I cant because i've not writed 10 message already)
What can i do?
If i find the original guide i'll link it here

[Q] [Request] someone have an alcatel 918 with single sim backup or preloader?

Well i have the Alcatel 918A phone and i've flashed it on OTU with the 918D, N and Mix versions of this phone (because i wanted to install some ROM and i needed to do that), but now i can't use 3G so i guess that this happens because those phones are the dual sim version and also they are from other areas, So i need the files to flash it back to the single sim version, someone have them?
Thanks in advance and sorry is my english bad, i still have some trouble with it.

[DEV] - A call for all devs: help to add dual SIM support on ROMs

I know that the Moto G is a recent phone, and because of this, we don't have much devs working on ROMs or something. But I follow all topics on the Android Development section and I observed one thing: almost nothing released yet (like alternative ROMs or the US update to Kit Kat) is compatible with the dual SIM variant of the phone.
I know that this variation won't be sold in a lot of markets, but here in Brazil, we almost encounter only the dual SIM version on the local and online stores. 'Cause here, dual SIM phones are really popular and necessary (let's say that our network operators isn't that good).
So, let's talk about what cares: I'm here to request to you guys to support the dual SIM on your ROMs. I know that is easy to do a request like these... so, I'm here to help and test together with the devs. I think it's important to develop a way to include the Dual SIM support on the future ROMs. So, everyone with a Moto G will be able to install the ROMs, independent of the variant of your phone.
My phone is a brazilian XT1033 16GB Dual Sim, with stock Android 4.3, unlocked bootloader, root and ClockworkMod Recovery running fine.
I installed the Infusion ROM, the Kit Kat repack and the Kit Kat US Stock ROM (yeah, I'm hungry for Kit Kat) and the results are the same: only one SIM are showed on the notification bar and we can't get any signal from the operator. Otherwise, everything works fine: wifi, apps, the general system...
You guys can ask me anything about the phone or give me instructions to extract certain files from system that you need or commands on adb/fastboot to get details of this variant. Remember: I'm here to help. :good:

I believe that for KitKat you'll have to wait for Motorola Brazil to release the update.

I've also got the very same model as well, initionally I thought like oh ok imma just flash 4.4 US retail with modem files from stock Brazilian firmware but what seem pretty straightforward turned out the total opposite way when it comes to carrier signal. Do those files you requested have anything to do with radio?

The problem with dual sim is that today Android does not support dual sim! Each Dual sim phone use a propriatary software to use dual sim. Maybe we can"hack" the software in order to make your phone a singlesim, but it will be very difficult to support dualsim phones... For your information, CyanogenMod does not support any dual sim phone...
Sorry...

THAT is more a result of most dual SIM phones being based on MTK SOCs for which no sources are available (similar story for other Chinese SOCs, BTW, but MTK is the worst offender)...
Dual sim support isn't critical, I suppose most of Dualsim owners would be happy with at least one sim working properly.

Considering that the new Motorola is more "open" and friendly for the devs now, maybe we can ask they for release the dual sim specific sources...

No way. If someone buys a dual sim phone, It's supposed to have both working fine.
Like I said, to me is totally indispensable: I have one SIM from a local operator, to make calls (with this SIM, local calls are REALLY cheap) and another, with a unlimited data plan (that I use on university to connect my laptop to the Internet).
I'm just and simply saying it's better have one than no Simcard working at all I don't know about you but I'm looking foreword to get Cyanogenmod and as been said before there's no dualSim sources available and highly doubt there will ever be.
Well I only using 1 Sim right now, but my mom bought me the dual SIM, she didn't even think about that, and I think is the only only she founds.
If at least one works, is definitely better then no one working, like KitKat is right now for me.

Dial *#06# in the dialer and tell whether it shows the IMEI number.

It seems you have flashed a ROM which is for a variant of your phone which has dual Sim.
So, you have two solutions:
1. Either flash the correct stock ROM for your phone.
2. Or, using MAUI Meta 3G (MTK Droid Tools), flash the IMEI number for the SIM1 (Google it)

Huawei mate 9 chinese version. Sim card not detected

Hi. It is the first time I'm asking a question on this forum and I'm definitely not a cellphone expert.
I purchased a mate 9 from china MHA AL00 version B136.
The phone is working great, using Google play with GSM core.
However, I just inserted a nano sim card from Rogers (in Canada) but the phone is not able to detect it.
Any reason why I have this problem?
Thank you very much
Try different sim card ,also make sure to reboot after inserting the new sim card.

Does T-Mobile OP8 5G Support Dual-Sim if on Global Firmware?

I was curious as a colleuge of mine recently purchased the OP8 5G from T-Mobile rather than directly from OnePlus. The sim tray only supports one SIM, and I am assuming that as it has been done historically on prior OP devices, the T-Mobile OP software only supports one sim card. I am unsure as to whether the T-Mobile variant has hardware to support two sims or not, but I think it may only a software issue. Would rooting and flashing to get onto the Global firmware enable dual-sim support for a OP8 5G T-Mobile variant?
Thank you,
I'd assume so. I'm planning on trying this myself when my dual sim slot comes in from Shenzhen.

What is the dual sim's use case for you? International travel or work/personal use?
I think in Asian countries, people often get 1 cheap SIM for cheap voice plan and another SIM for cheap data plan.

In my colleague's case, for work and personal use. I personally have my OP7 Pro as my work phone, and it is the unlocked non-carrier variant, so the dual sim support is there. However, for my use, too, I would like to have the capability available on my T-Mobile OP8 5G just as my colleague. I had him order a dual-sim tray from eBay, and from a US seller to get the item faster. If it works for him, I'll likely order the dual sim tray.
i dont think the global or eu roms support dual sim. there was a disclaimer under the network & sim settings untill ob1. not sure if ob1 supports dual sim yet
Dual sim works, however, i cant get my Verizon sim to work with t-mobile. I get the CDMA-less notification, i read that you can get it to work, you just got to call verizon to register your imei with them so dual sim can work. This is running open beta, stable 10.5.12 wouldnt see my second sim.
I havent called them because my verizon sim is through work.

And, this is on a T-Mobile OP8 5G? If so, I wonder if my colleague would have any issues running two T-Mobile SIMs on a global ROM? (I suspect the T-Mobile software doesn't even recognize a second SIM).

So, after receiving the dual sim tray, and inserting two SIM's on T-Mobile's software--it does not even recognize the second SIM. What particular guide did you use to port over to the global firmware? Thanks!
I would also be really interested in knowing how to get the second SIM to read on the T-Mobile IN2017 variant of this phone. I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this to work, now that I've seen that the international models running Android 11 OB2 seem to have functional dual SIM. Personally, I kind of gave up on getting Android 10 to do dual SIM- even with the European ROM (which I'm fairly certain is the only way dual SIM on this device was ever officially supported by OnePlus), I haven't gotten it, but I think I'm annoyingly close. T-Mobile MSM to Global 10.5.12 to Android 11 DP2 will get you non-functional dual SIM- the device will see both SIM cards, and will properly identify them and their phone numbers, but the second SIM won't connect to voice or data, no matter what I do. If I upgrade the device from DP2 to OB2, the dual SIM UI stays (if I go directly from Global to OB2, it doesn't show), but the second SIM slot is still non-functional- no service for voice or data on the second SIM.
For anyone who has gotten a T-Mobile OP8 to properly read two SIM cards, I'd really like to know how- through my hours of messing around with this thing, it always seems like one step forward and two steps back. Hopefully the final release of Android 11 clears this up.
(My two SIMs are from T-Mobile and AT&T, respectively. Unfortunately, I don't think two T-Mobile SIMs has a chance of ever working with this setup on any firmware- "SIM 1" and "SIM 2" share an IMEI. While that's probably okay for SIMs from different carriers, that's not going to fly on the same carrier- it will look like a cloned IMEI to the network, and probably get shut down fairly quickly.)
Has anyone managed to make it work the Oneplus 8 (pro) unlocked USA version with 2 sims at the same time ? Thank you
It's working on mine with second simbtray however there is no service with both inserted. BecUzebitvhas the same IMEI as slot 1
