[Q] Universal file manager with multiple functions for view and edit files - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody knows a file manager that is capable to:
1) Browse any files
2) Create any files
3) Change any proprieties/attributes of any files
4) Edit any files
5) View any files as text
6) And the rest of any thing that can be made with files.
The reason I ask is because I don't know a program that can open an file as text and have the ability to edit that text and then save it.

open and edit cab files

Hi!
I want to edit a skin package for the program "Tengo Thumb" by myself.. I have a cab file with a skin inside it but when I open it with winrar the files don't have any file-endings.. I want to get to those pictures and change them to something nicer.
Any clues?
You can install the software, take out all files you want to edit from the folder they were installed to, and then replace them with the edited files. Sounds easy, doesn't it?
This is what I do when I edit the resources of various EXEs and DLLs - sure the same will work for images.
You can afterwards repack the installed program using, for example, SK Tools (Installed Programs - Marked items - Make cab) and get yourself a working installer
There might be better and more professional ways to do the same - if anyone knows, please educate us
You could use a .cab editer like Cab Manager. With that, you can extract and add files, and then re-save the new .cab file.

[Q] mms settings, custom xml file

I've been struggling to get my mms setting configured for a year now with no luck. I have a LG Optimus 7 from 2010 pdc conference.
I'm trying to configure mms settings for the carrier Viaero (small nebraska/colorado carrier). The settings i need are defined at http://viaeronetops.blogspot.com/
The device is ChevronWP7 unlocked. and Interop Unlocked.
I've tried all the suggestions out there, set ADC (no luck), select the provider xml in mfg - Set network profiles (no luck, need different settings). Lg Network Setup app (doesn't list the carrier settings i need)
I've come to the conclusion i need to copy a custom xml config file to the phone then select the xml file in mfg - Set network profiles. I believe i have created the xml config file i need (see attached file) based off of the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022833&highlight=mms+settings&page=3
Now how to get the file to the phone. I have windows phone device manager 1.8 from TouchExperience installed. I can copy the file to \My Documents but not to \Windows. The file never shows up in the mfg - Set network profiles. Do i need to copy the file to \Windows (How do i do this) or can i select the file that i copied to \My Documents a different way.
I've seen other paces that say to use Wp7UsbStorageEnabler.exe to show you phone in explorer, tried this but i only see a single directory, tried copying the file into the directory, no luck.
Please help this is really my only complaint about wp7 and would really like to get this solved.
To sum it up, how do i copy a custom carrier xml confg file to the phone and select it.
thanks
scott
I've been trying to get copy files to work using DiagProvXML (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238519&highlight=provxml) but i can't get any file copies to work.
Is this because of the LG phone?
Are there special steps i need to use. Currently i'm using
-File Operations
-Click the + symbol
-Click save provxml
-Go back to the main screen provxml
-Click the save icon at the bottom of the screen
I get no errors but the file operation never works.

In addition to apktool (thanks, @kaiodduarte), you're also going to need a good text editor (I use Notepad++), an archive manager (like 7zip or WinRAR), and the ZipSigner app for your device.

It will help you with actually being able to make edits to text files without screwing up all of the line endings and encoding.

In order to appear your font to the app's UI clear it's data from the settings, then relaunch the app.
The Opaque Binary Blob (OBB) data file can be found either on your device's internal memory OR external memory (SD card).

Did you use RAR file archiver? Cause I tried this before using FX file explorer but it doesn't work. RAR file archiver was my option.

Or maybe while the app is setting up things and downloading the .OBB file something went wrong... Btw here's a new thread for the newer version of Office apps that currently doesn't have these .OBB files.
OP, there's no reason to create new threads for updates. Just edit and update the one and only thread next time. Otherwise you only create confusion and forum clutter.
You've already linked to the new thread, so I'll close this one.

Saved File using Hancom HWord (Factory) and Now Can't View/Access File

So, I edited a word doc from an email, using the built-in Hancom HWord viewer/editor. I used Save As from the menu. I wasn't paying attention to the file path and just added a suffix to the file name. Turns out I was saving in a protected folder. HWord cannot be opened directly from the Applications on the phone, but only by opening a Word doc from email, etc., but that doesn't present an Open option.
So, since I can't open the app and get an Open option, and because the file is in a protected folder, I can't get to this file.
The only method I've found out there for rooting my phone involves deleting the phone. Not an option when all I need to do is get to the file and copy it somewhere else.
I tried installing the latest HWord, and of course it does not have access to the original HWord's folder.
Do any of you know a method I can get to the file? Again, just need to copy it to a readily accessible folder.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
