[Q] TWRP Factory Reset Doesn't Wipe All Apps - Asus Transformer TF700

After a factory reset wipe on TWRP, there are still like 50+ apps left in my tablet (I've installed about 140 apps before the wipe). These are not system apps, but some games and apps I installed before.
Before the wipe I've performed a failed restore, don't know if it made this happen.
I'm using CM 10.1-0501-Nightly.
Anyway I can get my factory reset to wipe all the apps like it should have.

Have you tried an advanced wipe and wiping data as well as the 3 that wipe on a factory reset? FYI make sure you have everything backed up, nandroid and Titanium just as a precaution. And depending what you want to flash new, you should make sure you have the zips on your micro sd card and do not wipe that.

[Q] What to wipe when installing new kernel at Nexus S with CM7?

Hi!
At my Nexus S I do use CM7 nightly #144 atm. Now I would like to try CM7 with Netarchy's kernel 1.3.7 (Netarchy Nexus - 1.3.7-cfs-2.3.4-universal (Universal for non-stock 2.3.4 roms)).
I backed up everything using ClockworkMod 3.0.2.4 as well Titanium Backup Pro.
When downloading the 1.3.7 kernel I place it in root at sd card and now I have some questions:
Which kind of wipes do have to do (or should I do)? And when? Before updating or after updating?
wipe data/factory reset? (I guess no?)
wipe cache?
wipe dalvik cache?
Do I have to use "fix permissions" after the update?
Thanks in advance =)
For flashing a new kernal
Boot into recovery...
Wipe cache...
Wipe dalvik cache...
Flash kernal...
Reboot...
As always make a nand backup just in case...

if the kernel is compatible with the rom, i dont think you have to wipe anything
When flashing a new kernel wipe the cache and dalvik cache. Neaither one of these will erase any of your data so it is always best to be on the safe side when flashing and erase both of these for good measure.

Thanks a lot!
Btw, does a full wipe/factory reset wipes also dalvik?

[Q] tf300t restore factory defaults, keep root?

ive just rooted a new tf300t, installed voodoo root keeper, and updated.. all went well, i have a 300t with newest firmware and root.
my question is if i do a factory reset, will root be removed?
Thanks,
nope the factory reset only wipes userdata (on the internal storage and the data partition) i just did a factory reset this morning... rebooted... still had root (though u have to reinstall the superuser app)

Ditto. I restored last night. From settings (factory reset) and from the cold boot screen (wipe data). I kept root, but had to download Superuser from the Plat store. My apps did auto restore which was nice. I had to search Superuser though since it wasn't originally installed from the market. (The double restore was just because I was really annoyed with the lagginess and wanted to ensure I did everything possible so I only had to do it one time. Same process both times so it was not necessary.)

I personally would put Cromi onto your external SD, make a nandroid backup of your current rom, and wipe the system, factory reset, cache, and Davik Cache, then install Cromi. Id you install Asus' stock rom, it will wipe your recovery.

^^ Fully agree -- no reason to go back to stock when there's CROMI. : ) Flashing CROMI doesn't leave something important behind that the stock ROM would actually do. Does a full wipe and reflashing CM10 not solve your issues?

My 2 cents worth:
If you have a working custom recovery: Download CROMI 3.4.1 and the 3.4.4 patch onto your external microSD card.
Enter your recovery, wipe cache, Dalvic, system and then fash CROMI 3.4.1 followed by the 3.4.4. patch.
If you want to go for a super clean install, also wipe the internal SD card, but back up your apps, settings so you can restore them later.

[Q] cant boot into system

Hey guys. I unlocked my tf700 and now it's on CleanROM3.4.7 with that6 kernel and data2sd. Everything worked fine for a long time. But last night when I was checking email, it just suddenly turned to a white screen and I had no choice but reboot it. It just cant boot into system anymore. I tried flash the rom zip again in the CWM recovery, but it was still stuck at the first bootscreen. How can I fix this?

You are probably going to have to do a full wipe to get it back going. Or a nandroid backup if you got one. Sounds to me the ROM and your data is corrupted. Also make sure your Recovery, boot loader, and ROM are up to date and compatible with eachother to prevent issues. Just a fyi.

A full wipe in CWM or after the three-keys combo?

I normally prefer wiping from recovery (CWM in this case).

I am not sure how CWM works but a wipe of your internal storage including ROM and data partition.. Make sure you dont wipe your roms, also make sure you have compatible CWM and boot loader which I expect that it already is.

Try a cold boot or factory RESET first,my mistake going to a straight wipe first but it would be the process to fix it is Factory Reset or cold boot dont work.

That's expected -- the Android secure partition is not in use. Just pick "Wipe data/Factory reset, and "Format /system" from the menus and reflash your ROM.

did as you told, but it still doesn't work, now it continues rebooting itself at the first bootscreen.
sd card corruption?
What happens if you boot without the sd card in? Might need to flash the rom again as you'll no longer have a working data2sd card solution obviously.

Are you still able to boot in CWM recovery? If yes, just install an Original Asus firmware (4.1.1 or 4.1.2,you choose) and after the install process it's done and your new firmware it's installed go to the bootloader screen (power+volume down) and choose Wipe Data.
Imho when you wiped the internal storage from CWM your partition got messed up and this is the easiest way to recover. I discovered this CWM bug a few days ago and i already reported to dasunsrule32 so i'm sure that he will investigate asap. In the meantime you can use CWM recovery just fine but don't use it to wipe internal storage (i think the issue arise after running "wipe data and data/media" option).

I think it is. It works after wipe and reflash the rom without the sdcard. Still don't understand why it just corrupted suddenly.

Thanks for the help. Already recovered after wiped and reflashed the rom.

Completely wipe a TF700?

So I've just sold my TF700 and about to send it off to the buyer.
How do you totally wipe the tablet? Is there an app to do so? I know that doing a factory reset doesn't appear to wipe it.
Thanks

Perform a factory Reset through the ROM settings, reflash the ROM, and perform another factory reset. It should be completely cleared. Also perform a cold boot afterwards.
