[Q] Paranoid Android on Locked Bootloader - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

I have Xperia J (ST26i). It's bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Is it possible to flash a ROM for Paranoid Android 3. I used PA 2 on my ZTE Blade and it was great.
Any ideas?
As an aside, does the locked bootloader really restict the flashing of ROMs?

most, if not all custom ROMs on this subforum are based on CM and use CM's kernel, and therefore it's ramdisk. So it's not possible.

I have a question regarding this. I'm not sure if I understood correctly but since we have a locked bootloader we cannot flash Kernels.
But if we find a ROM that doesn't need a custom Kernel to be flashed, can we do that?
And are there any Roms( besides the stock ones) that can be flashed without also flashing custom kernels?

If a ROM is based on stock, then it doesn't need a kernel to be flashed.
There are ROMs that don't require flashing kernels in order to work, there has been reports of CM9 and MIUI both on locked bootloaders, but just not for our devices.

[Q] Help to flash a rom.

The title says it all. I want to flash a CUSTOM rom on my xperia mini. It is rooted with flashtool running ICS 4.0.4 and the bootloader is LOCKED.
I just want to flash a new custom rom as i tried it before and that resulted in a black screen after Sony Ericsson logo. This was when i had GB installed on it.
I flashed ICS later and rooted it. I amd actually new to rotting though i've been using android since 2010.
I really need your help.
Thanks A Lot
Read the instruction and the steps in your dev section. Or you are gonna get someone to explain to you, and if he misses a step you are screwed.
I rooted my x10mini fairly easy,
Rmb fter flashing the rom make sure you flash the kernel or you will experience boot loop.
just be careful as to not flash any rom with an incompatible kernel.
Gb rom with gb kernel, ics with ics.

On small question, I can flash any rom on any android version right?
What do you mean any android version? Flash roms that is compatible to your phone.
Read everything posted in op. There are some requirements, and the methods are written clearly.

I mean to say that if i am on GB and want an ICS rom can i flash it directly or first upgrade to ICS officially and root it and then flash or in that case can i flash JB on ICS?
It doesn't matter. Make sure your do a full wipe.

[request]miui!

hi,can someone port this rom by sandy7?
its miui for locked and unlocked bootloaders. that would be great if we got miui for our phones without unlocking bootloader
tnx in advance :fingers-crossed:
It won't ever happen. Reason being that it is CM10 based. CM10 is JB based and to run JB you have to be running a JB kernel. Miro can only run a ICS kernel without an unlocked bootloader. Sorry to tell you this.

[Q] Verizon GS3 4.3 - Questions on unlocking bootloader and installing ROM

Ok, so, like the title says, I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 with 4.3 (Firmware VRUCML1). I already rooted it. And after trying to install a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader, I had to use Odin to return to stock. And then, I bricked it after trying something else.
So my question is, what are the proper steps I should take (after rooting, since I already did that), to installing a ROM?
Get to stock than download safestrap and use safestrap to make a rom slot. Than you can install a TouchWiz 4.3 custom rom. Unfortunately if you are on stock 4.3 than that is your only option as you can not unlock the bootloader.

Like ImUnderTheBed said, safestrap and 4.3 TW ROMs are your only option. Everything you need is pretty much covered in the OPs of these two threads:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639337
Ahhh ok, so basically, find the safestrap apk for my phone, then I can just install a tw rom. is there a certain version of safestrap that works? Or just safestrap in general?
Also, so, since you said only TW roms, I'm assuming that roms like AISP and MIUI are out of the question. Or just Kit Kat roms in general?

There is a safestrap thread in the development section, use that one. Can't flash any AOSP ROMs, only 4.3 TW ROMs

CWM For locked bootloader? Xperia J ICS

Looked around a bit and found out its virtually impossible to unlock the boot loader if you are Carrier Locked so now my question is can someone help me installing CWM on Xperia J Locked bootloader (ICS 4.04 / Firmeware 11.0.A.7.5). This is because whilst browsing the web I also found its possible to flash ROMs that are based on stock ROMs which is the only reason I rooted in the first place!
Thanks in Advance,

I recommend you to flash AlienRom. Its compatible with locked bootloader. Just follow the instruction how to install it. Also the rom doesnt have custom kernel inside, so just flash the stock kernel after you install the rom.

Couldn't even be bothered to read the first few posts of the Safestrap thread?
You can run AOSP roms like CM and Omni, but nothing based on Lollipop

If they are on a locked bootloader no custom roms can be installed at all
