[i337m] Return to stock (after softbrick or just to unroot) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

This is for people whose Kies won't work.
Mine didn't work, but that's probably because I had Windows 8.
I copied this file from my temp directory while flashing my phone via Kies (on a friend's PC)
0. Download and extract: here
1. Put phone into download mode (hold volume down while booting)
2. Open Odin on PC, click PDA and browse to the file you extracted earlier.
3. Plug in the phone and click start.
This returns your phone to factory settings, wiping system and data (effectively unrooting), and also any custom recovery as well. The bootloader remains unlocked.
(Not sure where this should go, so mods please move if necessary)

Canadian carrier. So Bell, TELUS, Fido, Koodo, Virgin Mobile and Rogers. However, I don't know which one the OP posted. Depending on which carrier version that file is, it could be Bell (Which has a bunch of carrier boat) or TELUS (which only has 1 carrier bloat app).

I have used it on Bell and it didn't install a ROM with no bloat, just retained all my stuff and readded when the new system was pushed.

A better unroot method would be to give a file explorer root permissions and mount the system and root followed by deleting su and busybox from /system/xbin then uninstalling superuser and rebooting.

Factory reset in recovery, works every time.

Edit: odin didn't work, so i tried kies, (never knew there's a program like itunes for samsung ) did a recovery, but still got stuck on the bootloop. Did some research and tried using the default recovery that comes with stock s4.
1) upgrade/reformat using kies
- asks for serial and model #
2) Followed instructions and put s4 into download mode
3) connect via usb to kies
4) wait for restart
5) done __-----> this is where i got stuck on another bootloop, even after recovering to stock TW via kies.
6) Pulled battery out and wait for a FULL MINUTE!!! ( i used to always just pull the battery out and put it in right away, maybe that's the cause?)
7) Go into the stock recovery by:
a. Hold down all three buttons ( center(home), Volume UP, and Power )
b. When you see the Boot animation AND the blue text on the top left corner, then RELEASE ONLY THE Power button!
c. You will see the a different boot animation, ( one with an opened android bot?)
8) use your volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
9) choose wipe data /factory reset -----> wait for it to finish
10) then choose Wipe cache...... ( i forgot to do this step )
11) restart and vola!
hopefully this will help somebody... remember to always try recovering using kies 1st. And write down ur recovery number
Question: Now that i am on stock TW would Triangle Away reset my flash counter?

Becareful of Pacman beta (20130812.jfltecan) rom, it doesn't work on i337m, i managed to get it working, but the aosp keyboard crashed on me, and i'm having trouble with 3D apps, and calendar app. When i was browsing through the app draw, it crashed on me. I had to do a hard restart, and that's when i got the bootloop. So i went into CMW and wipe cache, and d.. something. Doesn't work.

No luck attempting to restore from rooted S4 (using TWRP)
Im a bit of a noob, and I'm looking for whatever help you can offer.
I have a Telus-locked S4 which has been rooted and is using custom recovery (TWRP)
I am currently running |ROM| |★KANGABEAN★| |ATT&CAN|►GOOGLE-EDITION◄|JB|4.3|LOKi'D|SEP.8.13|
I would like to go back to a stock (or stock-ish) ROM since there are features that I'd like to get back (i.e. samsung's camera app... etc)
I would like to un-void my warranty
I thought that this thread was going to help me do that
My problem is this, I downloaded the ZIP file (listed in the mirror) and put it onto an external SD Card. I booted into TWRP recovery and went to the INSTALL section and chose the ZIP file.
I just get an error that says "Failed". The log (in the console looking thing) says the following:
Updating partition details...
Running boot script...
Finished running boot script.
Installing '/external_sd/TLS-I337MVLUAMG1-20130704103639.zip'
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/TLS-I337MVLUAMG1-20130704103639.zip'
Updating parition details...
I'm sure this is something simple that I just don't know about but I just can't figure it out on my own.
Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!

This is not a flashable rom. In the OP, here are the instructions:
1. Put phone into download mode (hold volume down while booting)
2. Open Odin on PC, click PDA and browse to the file you extracted earlier.(Don't add the zip file, extract it and use the md5 file or tar.)
3. Plug in the phone and click start.

Help to restore tablet **update - I just need us firmware download please

So I believe I goofed here and could use some help. The tablet still works and boots into honeycomb, but things are not the same. ADW is crashing, home button is not working. I can still open apps and go to settings and get onto the net.
I rooted the device, installed Clockwork Mod and the SDCard permissions fix, but this all happened after applying the SDCard fix.
Now I went into recovery and tried restoring to factory default and used the factory reset through the Privacy tab under settings. Both options do not work. When I say it doesn't work, I mean that it doesn't ask me to create or sign in to my google account, it just goes back to the home screen with the same problems.
I read that Kies can reflash the device, but Kies is not recognizing the device on my mac. I haven't tried it using VMWare with Windows 7. I can give that a try I guess, but I can use some help here.
**edit**
So I logged into bootcamp using Windows 7, Kies shows it's trying to connect but it doesn't go past that point. I have found the odin instructions, but I don't have the proper stock rom to use with it. What now? The multiupload sites don't work, it keeps leading to google can't find the page.
Thanks!
***edit 2***
I need the official GT-P6210 US Firmware so I can recover my tablet using Odin (I can't boot into recovery, so I need to use Odin). I saw the thread with the download links, but they are all broken.
I can really use the help, I've googled all night and day, searched this forum and I'm running to brick walls. I'm at the screen where it says there was a problem updating the os (or something like that) and to use the kies recovery mode?
Thank you.
Have you tried searching for your stock firmware on www.sammobile.com ?
P_
I didn't know that existed, I will give it a try. I'm assuming I use those stock Rome with the oden app?(forgive me if I'm not spelling that right

helps on its way bro......
now follow my steps....
step1. download your required firmware package from the development section.
step2. download the odinv1.8 and then unzip and install to desktop
step3. open odin and select PDA and load the unzipped firmware file. (do not touch anything else at all)
step4. power on the device with volume button down and power on (download mode)
step5. plug in to pc via USB 2.0 as this has less chance of failing then press start on odin it will push the firmware on to the device and them reboot
step6. sit back and enjoy lol.
thank me if it helps.

Yes, I did all this, but when I get to step 5 it says that the rom I used was invalid. Maybe I downloaded the wrong one, I'm not sure. But all the rome on here using multi upload, the links are not working. I just need to find the rom for my US Galaxy tab 7 plus wifi... can you point me to a working link?
At this point, I've been trying to reflash a firmware and it's not worked, it has now kept me at the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus boot screen. It doesn't even play the Samsung animation.
And while I'm in CWM i tried reformatting again and I noticed one error:
"Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure! <new line> Skipping format..."
This is the what I get when I format:
Formatting /data...
Error mounting /data!
Skipping format
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete.
Suggestions would be great.
BTW: The multiupload.com url's in the development section is totally not working. I could use a mirror site for looking on the net is not working.
have you tried going to mounts and mounting data?

Well, I'm one step closer to solving this issue. I found a european rom and tried flashing it on my device using odin. It was going all well until at the end it failed when completing the writing part of the flash. When I tried booting the device, I get a graphic and an exclamation point saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again." Sooo, I think what i need is to get my hands on a firmware version for us or something that works.
it may be dangerous, but I thought there was a p6200 firmware and .PIT file floating around. You want to load that in ODIN ( or heimdall ) and choose repartition.
just my advice.
Ya I found a European firmware but it story!!ed at like 98%.

No need for pit, flashed european GT-P6210 firmware once and just some minor system app difference.
And yes, it seems there is no working link of official US GT-P6210 firmware here.
well good news!! Amazon has agreed to replace my tablet, so a new one is being shipped as I speek and should be here in about 3 days. I didn't think they would replace it with what has happened, but I got lucky.
All I can think of is the sdcard permissions hack screwing up everything. I'm just going to accept defeat and go the route samsung wants me to take to load files. Unfortunate, but it's the price to pay for this device. I really like the GT+, light weight, thin and looks great.
hmmm i've being flashing my GT+ many times as i always play with it framework and such... and have use the hack each time i reflash... never got the error
For future reference the 6210 US retail firmware is located in the Dev section under 'official Firmwares' Post #82 (I am a noob so I can't post a link)
I have used it. Once you have it loaded via ODIN then you can upgrade to the latest firmware via Keis.

[Q] Need help with restore back to stock

Ok, I have read through everything. I have followed all the directions. Here is my situation. Hoping someone can help...
Ok, I purchased a white skyrocket off ebay. It works. Kinda. I can make calls and send txts. Data works. But it is obviously a custom ROM and there is a lot wrong with it. For one, the screen NEVER times out. Even when I set a timeout in the settings. I can push the power button and turn the screen off. I can set a security pattern to unlock the screen, but it never prompts me for it when I power the screen on. The bluetooth radio won't turn off. Many other issues.
I followed the "return to stock method" using ODIN an the ko-kane .TAR, but all it seems to is overwrite SOME of the issues I am having. It's not truly returning to stock. My email settings and txt's are still there even after flashing. It also doesn't prompt me for my gmail setup, do the phone tutorial etc, etc.
So, is there a way for me to TRULY go back to stock? Am I just missing something here? I want to have this be as if it had never powered on before. Is that possible? Thanks in advance for the assistance...

That will wipe everything on your internal and external sd cards, so back up whatever you dont wanna lose forever.
Try darkside wipe (search for it and read the thread) and then flash one of the custom GB Roms floating around. It doesn't matter which one, just pick a popular and similar (close to stock) one. If you can find the CWM flashable version of the stock ROM that would be even better. Make sure you flash the necessary radio / modem for the ROM you pick before you flash the ROM just to be safe. After you make sure the phone boots properly but before you set anything up (Email, etc...) do a factory reset. Again, reboot to make sure everything is working. Then, go back and flash (with ODIN) either K0nane's TAR or the SamMobile TAR. The SamMobile Tar will have the proper radio / modem with it.
If you flash the SamMobile TAR without wiping first (ie installing a new ROM that hasn't been set up), the Sammobile TAR will port certain settings over to the new flash. It did for me anyway. If you don't understand the things I posted make sure you take the time on your own to research the topics and find the correct links on your own. All you need is the search function and the time to do the reasearch you need to do and you should be fine. Good luck.

Goto "settings" "about phone". What does the Android version, Baseband version, Kernel version, and Build number say?
It is possible you may need to reformat your internal and external SD cards. You could also have a corrupt Efs partition. Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611796
If you reformat your SD cards, make sure you backup any information you want to keep.
Even reflash your radio / modem just for the hell of it.
If you try all of this and everything else you said you have tried it would be near impossible for your phone to retain any information from previous flashes.

It was the corrupt EFS partition. Ran method #2 (did that first, it seemed easier to be honest) and when the phone rebooted, it had prompted me for the screen lock password. Thanks so much for the advice everybody. Took awhile but I am glad it did because I learned quite a bit going through all of the steps.
Restoring Skyrocket ICS->GB (ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6 installed)
Need Help,
I want to go back to the gingerbread stock ROM as the ICS installed currently is giving me a lot of problems. My GPS has also stopped working.
I started here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348 and followed all instructions. But i get stuck because when using Odin i get the following output and that's it, it does not go ahead.
<ID:0/007> Added!!
<ID:0/007> Odin v.3 engine (ID:7)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..
<ID:0/007> SetupConnection..
I have the SGH-I727 from AT&T but with leaked ICS and also rooted with ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6. I cannot seem to go to the "Download Mode" as the process after power off takes me directly to the Recovery options.
Would I need to unRoot the device? or can i use any option available right now in this recovery mode?
What am i doing wrong? or not doing anything at all?
Sorry if this was the wrong thread to post to.

Can I extract the MD5 from the downloaded SamMobile zip and simply flash away in Odin?

I do not have a nandroid backup.

I flashed the update sucessfully, thank you for the tip xcrazydx. But started to get errors as soon as i swipe my logonscreen, try to use the phone, calender, change volume etc. Sometimes i got 2-3 errors in succession. An example would be
"Sorry! The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." - On trying to make a call and then two more errors after that before i go back to home screen.
Also the trip counter on cusom ROM on the download screen shows 1 and it says "current ROM: Custom"
I have now flashed with another ICS ROM which suceeded. My GPS is also working now
Just thought others shoudl know!!

You could use my rom or one of the others without any issue or work really.

Gatsrom thanks for responding. I gave it a shot and don't know where I am at. I am not rooted. I downloaded and installed Odin and following all the precautions I could find I downloaded TWRP and went through the installation process. Odin showed RESET then PASS. I did this twice and it passed both times. I also tripped knox (which I expected to do). When I boot into recovery there is no sign of TWRP. I go to the standard system recovery.
Did I need to be rooted before TWRP will work? If not, could you point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Keith

Hmm let's see what we can do. If you are booting into stock recovery it's not flashing the recovery. You grabbed the recovery for the v1awifi right? https://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/v1awifi/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.0-v1awifi.img.tar
You put the tar file in the pda slot? It says successful (1/1) in the info/log window at the bottom?

Gatstrom, I believe yes to all of the above. I attached a file that shows the Odin screen (didn't take - screen readout below). The successful line says (succeed 1 /0 failed) The recovery file is correct. Odin 3.09 does not say Note pro. I have also tried Odin 3.09 from a different source with the same result. The other thing I can think of is after flashing and I take the usb cord from the phone my steps are to turn off the phone and turn it on to recovery with the three finger steps. Is their anything else I need to do at this point. Should I be in TWRP now? I find myself in stock recovery system and it gives me I think 5 options. I am just rebooting. Should I be using one of the other options.
I unzipped Odin with 7z. I am using an original samsung USB cable connected directly to the computer and I turned off antivirus before flashing. There is no indication that Kies is operating any services in the background. I also downloaded he latest drivers

I got it to work. On the TWRP thread at original development forum on page 48 or 49 there was someone with the exact same problem. Bigbiff told the user to uncheck auto reboot in odin and then to boot directly into recovery. I did and it worked. I was unaware that you could root directly from TWRP and a quick stop at the play store. I then loaded your debloated rom and I'll see how it goes once everything updates.
I am so F$%^King excited. I have spent scores of hours attempting to get this to work.
Thanks for all of your help (it helped)
Keith
Ya that was my next suggestion to not reboot and go into twrp directly. Let me know how the rom works. If you have any questions/bugs throw them in the rom thread. I'll see it quicker and it keeps problems and solutions centralized.
I would say give the xposed framework a shot. I put a list of the ones I use. They are incredibly useful.

[GUIDE] How to fix IMEI / DRK issues

This Guide works on both the S7 and S7 Edge.
This also works on other Samsung device including Snapdragon variants as long as you have the correct files for your device.
FIll out my form if you require assistance
S8 users go HERE
This guide is for those of you with EFS issues. This can cause your IMEI and/or Baseband to show Unknown or a bunch of zeros. The guide can also be used to fix DRK errors, but if your Device Root Key (DRK) is corrupt or missing, this guide will fix your IMEI/Baseband but will not fix your DRK error.
The guide gives instructions on how to flash the combination firmware. This installs the factory binary which allows your phone to read your IMEI and DRK. This should then restore your IMEI and DRK and then when you flash stock, the phone will be working as normal. If the Device Root Key (DRK) is corrupt or missing, this guide will only fix the IMEI, the DRK errors will still remain.
I take no responsibility for any issues that arise from following this guide. Do so at your own risk. The smallest mistake can cause a much bigger issue so make sure you know what you are doing and follow every step word for word!
Please note that this will not work for everyone
Some people will still face getting stuck at boot when flashing the combination firmware.
This means you have at some point flashed firmware that is later than the latest combination firmware and unfortunately, it is not possible to fix this by downgrading the firmware to an earlier version.
Before you proceed, you're going to need the following:
A copy of your phones stock firmware saved to your computer. If you do not already have these available on your computer, you can go HERE or you can use this tool to download the latest firmware for your device. Alternatively, you can find your firmware on SamMobile but this can take forever to download with a free account.
[IMPORTANT!] Switch off Factory Reset Protection (FRP) by going into Developer options and turning on 'OEM Unlock'. If you do not see 'Developer Options' under settings, then go to Settings > About Device > Software Info and keep tapping 'Build Number' until it confirms "You are now a developer" then go back to the main Settings screen and you will see Developer options.
if you skip this step, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong.
Odin. If you do not have it, download it from here
The Combination Firmware (Factory Binary). Download the combination firmware relevant to your phone (links below) and extract the .rar archive somewhere you will remember.
S7 International [G930F/FD] - (Mirror) [UPDATED 03/11/2017]
S7 Edge International [G935F/FD] - (Mirror) [UPDATED 03/11/2017]
S7 Canada [G930W8] - (Mirror)
S7 Edge Canada [G935W8] - (Mirror)
S7 Edge AT&T [G935A] - (Mirror)
Files for other models available on request via my form

Now you have all the files you need, follow the guide below to repair your S7.
There are 2 methods.
The first method (Method 1) is quick and can solve most issues. Especially DRK errors.
The second method (Method 2) is to use if Method 1 does not work. This guide requires more work and therefore takes a little longer.
Method 1
Boot into recovery and wipe data.
Put your phone straight into Download Mode (do not reboot or boot up the system between wiping data and booting to download mode). To do this, you can use recovery to reboot to Download mode. Alternatively, switch off your phone and hold 'Power' + 'Volume Down' + 'Home' until it boots to download mode. Then connect the phone to your computer with your USB cable.
Open Odin, press the 'AP' button and select the Combination tar/md5 file you downloaded/extracted earlier. Then press the 'Start' button. (If you have any errors while flashing, first make sure you are using the correct firmware for your phone. If it is still throwing errors, remove the ".md5" from the end of the file name and try again).
When Odin has completed flashing the combination file, it should boot into the Factory Binary. You may get a message asking you to reboot. Click reboot (If you do not get prompted to reboot, do a reboot manually).
When it has booted back up. Press the 'IME' button at the bottom of the screen and type *#06#. You should now see your IMEI has restored.
Now restore the stock firmware using the firmware you downloaded earlier. (If you're not sure how, follow this guide)
You should now have a restored IMEI. If not, this means your efs is damaged. Therefore, you will need to follow Method 2 below.
Method 2
You will need to start on a rooted device. If you are not rooted, follow this guide to root your phone or flash CF Auto Root in Odin.
Before you continue, it is extremely important that you backup your EFS partition, even if it is corrupt. You can backup the EFS partition using THIS APP. If you skip this step, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong and you have no backup to restore.
Download Root Explorer (Paid) or Root Browser (Free). Open 'Root Explorer' or 'Root Browser' (whichever you installed) and browse to the /efs folder located in the root of the device.
Inside the /efs folder, delete everything EXCEPT the 'FactoryApp' and 'prov_data' folders.
Reboot. Make sure it does a full reboot. When the phone boots back up, you may some errors or unusual settings, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

Still Getting a DRK error?
If you are still getting a DRK error then you probably have a corrupt or missing Device Root Key (DRK). Unfortunately, this cannot be fixed without a JTag box (which aren't cheap). However, you can continue to use the phone as normal by flashing the no-verity zip in TWRP. You can then go ahead and use your phone as normal. Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to receive OTA updates. All updates will need to be made through ODIN and the no verity zip will need to be flashed every time a new firmware is flashed. However, you can still use custom roms as normal. Other than OTA updates, the DRK issue will have no effect on the use of the phone. You can still update via Smart Switch but will need to install TWRP and flash the no verity zip after every update.
If you would like any assistance in fixing your issue such as Method 1 & 2 do not work for you or if you have a different model than what is listed in this guide, please complete THIS FORM and I will try to get back to you ASAP (unfortunately I cannot always respond)
Many thanks to everyone that has donated!!
If you would like to donate, you can do so by clicking here
As you can imagine, finding fixes and assisting people takes a lot of my time so it's always great to receive a donation. Thank you.

No problem. Was happy to help
What else can this factory binary do? Can it restore the original CSC? I had an AFG CSC phone and after playing around with different roms, when I go back to the original firmware (although it is a multi CSC), it chooses XSG rather than AFG no matter what I do.

I haven't seen CSC. anywhere. I was just wondering what this firmware had up its sleeves to "fix" things.

What I meant is that when you say you now have a different CSC, how did you know this.
This firmware basically just feels the phone where to read the imei, baseband, and other info. This does not include the CSC.
PM me for my email address and then if you email me a backup of your EFS, I will have a look and restore your CSC for you.

The original firmware of the phone was AFG for csc. Now even after using odin to get the same firmware, it defaults to xsg. Not a big deal but I don't know where the csc information is stored.

I see. Phone info won't show the original csc without root.
But how do you explain that despite using the appropriate firmware with odin, it always defaults to xsg rather than the original afg from the multi csc firmware?
Hey so I tried flashing the G935_Factory_Binary.tar file on a galaxy s7 edge, and the thing is stuck on splash screen. any idea why?

Because you flashed another region firmware, wipe data -> All original csc will get remove. You flash back and will only get default csc. If you rooted, you can change to afg csc
Thank you CuBz90 for your great work.
I flashed the superman rom but selected the wrong CSC.
I always backup my EFS in internal storage, but today I accidently wiped my entire internal storage. LOL
I have tried your method but unfortunately my imei is still missing, I'm totally frustrating. I will follow your thread. hope some expert can figure this out.
To everyone that has PM'd me, please bare with me. I have received a hell of a lot of PM's and I am trying to get through them all. Don't worry, I will definately reply and help you as best as I can.
Please make sure you are on your original stock firmware before trying this method. I notice a lot of people have PM'ed about CSC, I will PM you with info on how to revert this but please follow my steps exactly how I write them, a lot of people have PM'ed me to say "it's not working" but I have later found they are not following my steps exactly how I say and instead are taking shortcuts. If you take shortcuts then it's not going to work. I want to help you but you need to follow my exact instructions.

Tried to root, failed, total noon here.

Hey guys, today I tried to root my t-mobile s7 from a random YouTube video I found. After flashing a file from Odin, my phone got stuck in a boot loop.
I did a factory reset from recovery and the phone started up fine.
Now here's my problem, after doing a reset, the first thing I noticed was that while I was booting up the phone. It showed the usual Samsung Galaxy S7, followed by an unlocked padlock with the words "Custom" under it.
2nd issue. My phone just looks a lot different than when I originally bought it. It is also very sluggish, experiencing a lot of lag.
I've looked up how to go back to stock firmware but I'm not sure which one to use.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm currently on the PG1 firmware.
It appears you still have the eng kernal... You can just re-run the root.bat and install SuperSu, or if you want complete stock follow the steps below:
*Also Before you try this turn it off and let it charge for 45 min-1 hour or so...*
1. Volume Down + Power + Home to put it in download mode
2. Then press Volume Up to continue past the warning screen even if nothing is displayed.
3. Grab The Latest Version of Odin here
4. Then Download The Stock Firmware, in this case you will need whichever version you have (if you do not remember you can just download the latest available firmware) Download Firmware and then extract it. (If you have 5 different files in the zip go to step 8)
5. Then install Samsung device drivers(if not already).
6. Start Odin, Plug in the S7, Load in the tar.md5 in the AP/PDA and uncheck Auto Reboot and Repartition.
7. Let the phone restart... VIOLA!!!
8. Alternatively if the zip has 5 files... They should all start with the corresponding buttons in Odin For Example:
AP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

HOME_CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
After they are entered into Odin you hit start and after a few minutes ... It should be fixed....
Let me know if you have any further questions or issues...
The custom is normal since you flashed a modified kernel.
Follow this instructions here for rooting / unrooting.
Most of these applies to Tmobile S7, expect specific ones mentioned for Verizon.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Thanks man, I'm gonna try to finish rooting. I thought my phone was just screwing up and the first part of the rooting process failed, since the bootloader.
I also tried sammobile and the download won't start.
If I were to download an earlier firmware, would I be able to update it to the most recent one?
Is it possible to revert to stock without wiping data?
Can I flash a custom kernel with flashfire?

No you cannot. Or rather, science threw bootloader is still locked, your phone will not boot if you try.

Wait did you try rooting the s7 or s7 edge... (Or is the s7 edge completely unrelated to the brick)
