[Q] SIM Unlock Code Input Window Won’t Come Up. - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

HELP! I recently switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. I brought a SIM unlock code from cellunlocker.net to use with my HOX. It wasn’t my first time dealing with them - they have a good service over there. When I put the T-Mobile SIM card into my AT&T HTC One X (Rooted, Unlocked Bootloader, S-Off & Super CID). I didn’t get the prompt asking for the unlock code. At first I thought it was the ROM (UrDroid_One_X_ATT_OTA_JB_Odex-evita-1.9) so I put the sock 2.20 back in with no change. I unrooted, then I ran a couple of RUU’s (htc_one_x_RUU_2.20.502.7_att_us & RUU_Evita_UL_Cingular_US_1.85.502.3) with no change. Both AT&T and HTC said that they didn’t know what was causing it. The phone works perfectly too. My question is does anyone know of a code that I could punch into the dialer to get the unlock code prompt window to open? If not is there a way to put S-ON back? Reason is I’m wondering if it could be an issue with no security on (S-ON) hence no security prompt… just a guess.

I SIM unlocked mine with s-off

Sorry man, I'm out of ideas.
you could try inserting the sim while in bootloader..
Some phones have a setting for sim card lock in settings -> security I don't use sense so I can't verify that.
Also, you can try changing the prefered networks in settings.
Hopefully one of these helps?

Yes, I'm positive. It works with an AT&T SIM but when you put in a SIM from another carrier you don't get any bars, you just see a little x. Besides that no prompt window comes up asking for the unlock code as it is supposed to do.

Is there a thickness difference between the att sim and the other one? Was it a custom cut SIM?

No, it wouldn't be the thickness because I've used four different SIM cards (both T-Mobile and Simple Mobile) some cut and some not.

try this app and check sim state; although, I dont know if it works.

Im having troubles with my signal too, and I'm suspecting my sim was relocked D:

how did you unlocked your sim with s-off? I need to unlock mine manually as the prompt is not coming neither
EDIT: lol i figured out the problem. Both accounts from the sims that I was testing were deactivated for non use, and thus I couldn't get any signal. Maybe the same happened to your tmobile sim.

[Q] SIM Error

Guys would appreciate any suggestions you have (I have searched this forum and Google without success).
My Desire S is constantly losing it's network connection, I get an x above the signal meter and if I reboot sometimes I get a SIM error (it thinks there is no SIM installed) but sometimes rebooting or toggling Airplane mode cures the problem.
I have had the SIM out, cleaned the contacts and reseated it, had the battery out for a couple of hours and factory reset the phone (which I assumed would reset the radio) all without success.
I have an S-OFF desire running a stock ROM.
I have tried another SIM in my phone which works fine, my SIM in another phone which works fine but my SIM in my phone not.
Cheers.
Replace the sim or use ur sim after few hours...had the same issue....got it fixed by not using the sim for few hours....

Thanks, tried leaving the sim out but no joy, have ordered new sim but that means no phone for four days. At least I know it's not the phone.

[Q] Restricted Access Changed: Data Service is Blocked

Hey guys,
I have an AT&T One X. I unlocked the phone and when I insert a foreighn sim card, I get this triangle error in the notification. It says:Restricted Access Changed: Data Service is Blocked. I can't use data only through mobile network. Can call, can text, can use data through wifi.
I have not rooted or unlocked bootloader. Only thing I did is unlock the phone through a code. Any suggestions?
Maybe you don't have the correct data plan?

I've called at&t on this same issue , they have no idea what is going on... That was told to me from one of the higher ups... They have never heard of the issue and don't know how to handle or fix it .. I was the first person to call in with that particular issue and I just told them to swap out my phone and they did, I still have the issue but only after reboot, and it only lasts a couple seconds and not 45 min to longer as it used to

Thanks for your reply. I use Straight Talk and it works fine. However I am on vacation, and used a sim from that country and that's when this happens! I am not sure what to do!

Sim card problems

So my Inspire only recognizes one sim card. I tried giving this phone to my wife, but her sim card wouldn't work on the phone. Says no sim. Went to ATT and tried 3 different sims and still only mine works in the phone. I restored the phone to out of the box condition, and still, her sim doesnt work in it, only mine. Any suggestions?

Umm...check that u are Sim unlock with this: (Point 5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
If you are then, is known that not all sim cards are to be used in sim unlocked devices, so if you have the chance try using other than your wife´s to see if it works.
If you are not Sim unlock, you can revert to S-ON and then re run the Hack Kit if you didn´t use it to root yours....:good:
Yeah the Inspire was s off and all that jazz. Running ARHD and tried MIUI and still only accepts my sim card. That's why I returned it to stock to start over. Still only accepts my sim. Wifes ATT sim card doesn't work in it. Super annoying.

I tried remembering if I hit Sim Lock while in Hboot by accident before, but not even sure what that does either.

Try a different SIM and see if it works. If it does, then it might an issue with the SIM.

No SIM card

For a few weeks now my inspire does not detect my sim card. I tried different methods to create a better contact but nothing worked. This lead me to believe the sim tray was defective. Well, tonight I put a new sim tray in, and it still doesn't detect my SIM card. This happened completely randomly, and the phone has been in a case for as long as I've had it and I almost never drop it. Any suggestions as to what I should try next? Or should I just move on to a different phone?
Is the inspire rooted, unlocked, custom Rom, at all? Have you tried toggling airplane mode to on then off that will force it to refresh all network hardware?

It is rooted, unlocked boot loader, and running a slim bean ROM. The phone has worked flawlessly this way for nearly a year and one morning it just stopped working. I have toggled airplane mode a few times with no change. I've been told its a bad sim, yet I'm using the same sim right now in an iPhone with no issues

Well have you tried a factory reset, wipe /cache, wipe dalvik? i mean lots of times things just go wrong and doing a factory reset fixes it. Sometimes even re installing the rom does it. That phone, sometimes the craziest stuff fixes it i swear.

Yes. Have tried a factory wipe with factory ROM with no change; reinstalled slim bean afterwards and still no change

Regardless of the SIM working in an iPhone I would try a new SIM just to rule it out. Who knows what variables between the hardware specs of your iPhone and your android could be different enough to produce different results. If a new SIM doesn't work then there may be a problem within the radio or mainboard.

No soldering; it was the entire Sd card and sim card assembly. It attaches via ribbon cable to the main board

[Q] virgin mobile htc one v. need,to make this gsm

Good day.
So i purchased a htc one v from the virgin mobile network.
On opening the base compartment i discovered that there was no Sim card area exposed. Instead this version is enclosed with plastic.
I would assume that if i open the device with a screwdriver that there will be a Sim card area. however i'm not sure if it would be enabled.
Secondly, I'm not sure if the virgin mobile software would accept a Sim card.
So i want to know:
1. Will the slot be there and active if i open it?
2. Will it be possible to flash the phone to a different carrier?
Plz give me a detailed response with some sources. I wanna be sure of whether or not it is possible to use this as a gsm device
