Want to share my modded SecContacts. Hope usefull.
extract the SecContacts.rar and copy the exctracted file to /system/app or /preload/symlink/system/app (if you have symlinked seccontact) and change its permission to rw-r--r--.
How do you edit the apps?
I would like to know how to edit
By the way, the application will have been very good, and is on my phone now
Thanks!
Nice. Are you able to mod the alphabet shown in the contacts?
So there will be "all" letters?

decompile it first using apktool..
after that just changes the png on SecContacts\res\drawable-sw320dp-hdpi, to make like mine, just change a couple of dialer png and tw_list_section_divider_holo_dark.9.png ...

Also, you don't have to do all those crazy steps. All I did was:
1. Rename Gmail.apk in /system/app to something else like Gmail.apk.bak
2. Put the new Gmail2.apk in /system/app
3. Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
4. Reboot (this may not even be necessary)
Another change not mentioned in the article is the widget is a little better because say you only had 1 new email, the gmail widget would show some ugly black to fill in the rest of the widget, but now it's a nice gray color.
Thanks

How to theme system and market apps?
there are apps in gplay such as metamorph, ninjamorph, rom manager---> theme manager etc.
But which is the easiest, safest and fastest way to theme?
Get the apk of the app. Then decompile it. Once you have done that , find the res folder which has all the .9png files. Edit these to whatever you want. It's a bit complicated and not as easy add it looks like.

This is cool. I would love it if someone would just invert the stock look to get rid of all that ugly dark blue Samsung uses. Flat black would be a huge upgrade. Is there anyway you would want to do one with out custom icons...just straight inverted stock?
Renamed original .bak . Placed in system/apps. Fixed permissions. Getting a FC whenever I try to get into messages, and if you try to change bubbles and backgrounds it does do right either

Wouldn't you need the new Odex file also?
Would u happen to have the old one? Not a fan of the new one
Wouldn't install for me. Copied both the apk and the odex file to system/app but it was a no go.
Edit: also fixed permissions to rw-r--r-- after reboot it did not install so I tried to install it by tapping on it. After a bit it came back as not installed.
What about the old gray one? It looks much better

Here's the old grey keyboard for those who were looking for it. Extract zip and install, if that doesn't work move the apk into system/apps fix permission to rw-r-r and install, if the install fails then reboot and it should install.
