[Q] Bricked HTC Inspire 4G - HTC Inspire 4G

I recently acquired an HTC Inspire 4G to replace my old potato phone. The bootloader is unlocked and when I turn it on, it shows the white HTC screen and then immediately goes to Clockworkmod Recovery. I've tried two different RUU's and both of them said that they could not restore my devices. Can anyone help me fix this?

Are your volume buttons working? Have you tried flashing a new ROM from CWM?

Yes

Just to clarify, when you say stock do you mean RUU or ROM? Did you use fastboot or recovery?

I'm having the exact same issues, like exactly the same and trying to fix. Fastboot does work for me and hboot 0.85.024 tells me that I'm unlocked (htcdev), s-on, and my radio is 26.10.04.03_M. My cid CWS__001 and current version is 2.52.0.0.
Is there a way I can just get back to out-of-box stock?

Have you tried using adb to reboot to system? Since you are not S-Off, you need to find a RUU compatible with your phone's build, specifically for US AT&T. Or you could create a gold card and run any RUU that way.

Just to be safe, I'm creating a gold card right now and in terms of rebooting to system using, is the command fastboot reboot-system or something like that?
I'm sure I have a us att radio laying around somewhere and will post links for you Dakota if I need to go web hunting.

Dang, now I can't get the phone to respond to fastboot or adb. Under the devices command, there's an output of List of devices with a bunch of blank space underneath. There's a USB chime when I plug in the phone and unplug it so I know the PC recognizes it but no dice in terms of getting it to show up in a cmd window anymore.
I also found the RUU's BUT they're exe's and I can't find the Local Files trick in Windows 8. Does anyone know where I can find this section on my PC?

Okay, sorry for posting again but I am completely lost. My HTC Inspire 4g is bricked and stuck in a boot loop between hboot and CWM Touch. At least these things work but trying to flash a rom or go back to stock is not possible for me to do right now and I have zero idea why.

I'm S-On, unlocked, hboot 0.85.0024, and current version is now 1.00 (CWS__001). It used to be version 2.52 but I apparently did the downgrade step ok. What I'm having trouble with is S-OFF, Super-CID, and SimUnlock. I'd be happy with going back to stock, but since I ultimately want this rooted and rom'ed it might be better to see how I can finish the job.
Thanks for the help! I can't believe I still haven't figured this out.

Is there a good reason why you started a new thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270143...? Why not post clearly here on this thread, the one you already have, exactly what you've done and exactly what state you're in, instead of cluttering up the forums? In the interest of full disclosure, I've reported your other thread as a duplicate post.

Touche, there's really no good reason I had for posting at all or even registering in the first place. I meant no ill will by posting again and will do things differently in the future.
What I have done:
Unlocked the bootloader from htc dev
--during these steps I may have inadvertantly wiped the original rom because I can't get back to it.
Gained at least temp root access judging from the # sign I get when typing the adb shell command
Tried flashing custom roms, RUU's, recoveries, boots.
all of which bring me to the boot loop. (see pics) If I turn the phone on normally, it will stay stuck on the white htc screen. I can get into the bootloader screen easily and also can get access via adb and fastboot as well (I had this connectivity issue earlier and restarting my PC when/if it acts up has been the solution for me!), however from the bootloader screen if I choose recovery, it will reboot into CWM touch. CWM is responsive and I can install zips and have been trying to install Jellytime and Cleardroid but I believe it is because I am still S-OFF that I'm unable to get these to work. The end result of me rebooting from CWM is a quick round trip through the white htc screen and back to CWM as if nothing has happened.
Sorry for the long post, I hope there are enough details to give someone an idea of what's happening.

Read my signature. There is nothing wrong with your phone and it is not bricked. Is it just not S-Off, it is S-On, so you need to fastboot flash the ROM zip's boot.img every time you flash a ROM. This is a question that is answered all over the forums as well as my signature.

so you're saying all I need to do is: 1) take the said rom's boot.img file and 2) flash that through fastboot to the device, then 3) reboot, then 4) install the same rom through CWM and it should roar back to life just fine?
Awesome, thanks! I'll try that real quick and post results quickly thereafter!!

Good news- The boot.img flashed over perfectly and the htc screen will go to the JellyTime screen
Bad news- The screen goes black after a few minutes and nothing responds. I tried flashing the rom zip over fastboot but this is the message I got:

Can't full wipe now because CWM has disappeared. The rom is good and I'm flashing another one now.

[Q] Please help...Think i messed up BIG

Hi,
My phone freezes on the boot up screen (where T-mobile pops up) I know there are LOADS of threads on help for problems like that, but I think it's fair to say, I've tried quite a few of them (or at least looked to see if they could help me) but I'm still epically stuck I'll describe what i can in order, because I tried quite a few things..... -.-
I've got Htc desire S, from T-mobile UK
Hboot- 2.00.2002
I tried to root it to get pdroid, of course, found out that i needed to downgrade it to 0.98 for zergRush......got the "Hellions with BLUE flames" message so moved on to tacoroot. it was fine until i got permission denied at the last cmd code. (the posts on the thread suggested using zergRush if tacoroot did not work -.-)
this is the most problematic part i'm guessing. I gave up on those 2 and found this "guide-how-root-desire-s" on android forums, it uses revolutionary and cwm
But while i was trying out that, i found revolutionary-0.4pre4, which sounded alot easier therefore i alternated between both since the rev 0.4 made the guide a lot easier (took out half of part 1 and whole of part 2). I managed to finish, reboot.
At this point Hboot screen had ***locked*** on top and S-off, but it was still on 2.something
I realized I had a RUU left over from one of the previous guides....(RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_177977_signed)
so thinking i had to use it (since i was still on hboot 2.00.something), I stuck my phone on fastboot USB and started RUU up. it ran smoothly and soon finished, I rebooted my phone to check if i was in 0.98, which i was,and happily booted up my phone. But i didn't notice S was ON. Next thing i know, I've frozen on the boot up screen, so i take the battery out, booted to Hboot.
Now i can't access recovery menu, factory reset, and i can't reboot since it freezes on "t-Mobile" screen.
Have i broken it for good? if not what can i do to fix it?
Sorry this was a bit wordy, i didn't know what was useful so i just put it all in (well as much as i can remember accurately)
-quick summary-
HTC desire S
T-mobile
Hboot: 2.00.2002 (now 0.98)
S-ON (now, managed to have it off at a point...)
zergRush > tacoroot > revolutionary + guide using cwm recovery > messing it all up cause i forgot to put rom in SD card + used RUU > mega stuck...
I'm completely new to this rooting and stuff, please help. Thanks
edit..
oh, i don't know if it'll help but on cmd (I've installed adb, fastboot correctly) adb commands do not work, and says something like "device not found" or "waiting for device". Fastboot DOES work when on fastboot USB only.
edit....
change hboot version listed here from 2.00.002 to 2.00.2002
carelessness
Have you tried changing your miscellaneous version then running the RUU again and then use revolutionary to gain S-OFF then flash any rom you want P.S >>>> FALLOUT is probably the best at the moment
Good luck.
Hi, Duty09
Thanks for the quick reply. how do i change my misc version?i can't "adb push" since my phone wont register with cmd.....adb devices show nothing. Do i stick it in root and flash from fastboot?
Thanks

Putting that into Google and getting many results, it looks like the HBOOT version needs to be spot-on for that command to be present. What version of HBOOT are you running?
Ignore that - just reread the thread. You did have v2.00.002, but you've changed it to v0.98 something?
Have a look here http://androidforums.com/desire-s-all-things-root/444571-unlock-using-htcdev-com.html
You need HBOOT v2.* upwards to use HTCDEV unlock method.

right now its 0.98.0000
it was 2.something, but after loads of attempts at tweaking, it changed. think it was the RUU i ran after revolutionary, guessing thats what messed it up as well. but that's just my blind guess...
problem is, i can't change it back, OR change it to anything

[Q] HTC SENSATION got completely stuck on boot (complicated)

correct RUU 3.32.161.11 in post #11
Hi people.
The thing at the moment is stuck at JuopunutBear. But better to start from begining...
I decided to flash a different rom into it. So i unlocked a bootloader, installed "4EXT Recoveryy Touch" and tried to flash it straight away without having any backup... then the device use to get stuck on boot logo (as i rear later because of "s-on") and enabling "smart flash" on 4ext might help... but it didn't worked for me so i decided to install "JuopunutBear" and get "s-off" (on device which does not boot up any more)...
But my plan failed because whatever i did it ends up on "JuopunutBear" screen.
i though this was going to work but it did not:
C:\Users\user\Desktop\ControlBearRelease_pyramid_ICS_WIN>controlbear.exe -r
======== ControlBear 0.8 beta for JuopunutBear S-OFF ==========
Restoring to normal mode
Searching for device.....
Found device... Please wait...
Device should be in normal boot mode....
Press ENTER to exit.....
changed nothing.
this is all info i can see on hboot:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
eMMC-boot
Jan 13 2012, 17:33:34
As far i can at first i need to get rid of "JuopunutBear" at first.. and then somehow to make the rom work... have no idea what to do next... is it possible to do fresh reinstall for all regardless what mess is there right now?
that is definitely the last time i play like this but now only thing i want is to get it working...
I would be glad for some advice. thank you!
An RUU will make your phone completely stock. As for the juopuonut s-off, it seems like you are using an old version of control bear.

my current non-working version is 3.32.161.52
and the best i could find is 1.24.161...
i can't downgrade and can't put anything custom because i it is SON... so it is dead end for me.
is it possible to put some fake ROM by force (like copying files somewhere or smth...) even if it would not work but which would be seen as an "1.24.161..." when i would try to install it properly?
Just brain storming sorry if i am not telling anything clever...

Actually, the link above is for Australian vodaphone users.
This one is general, not branded. It is for European users: http://hotfile.com/dl/158597479/f24...1.22.3504.07_M_release_252064_signed.exe.html

Didn't worked out...
How do you think if i unlock the bootloader again is it possible to delete the partition containing OS trough recovery and maybe than having a blank device i would be able to install any version of RUU..? Need some sort of other solution in this situation...
Hmm... can you try to format all partitions from recovery and then try ruu again?

======== ControlBear 0.8 beta for JuopunutBear S-OFF ==========
Restoring to normal mode
I would be glad for some advice. thank you!

Hi! Are you still looking for the right RUU? If I got it right you need the Vodafone UK one. You can download it from HERE That will work with your phone. I have the same RUU and always used it when I had to. Boot your phone into Bootloader, then select Fastboot. Make sure on the screen it does say Fastboot USB, then run the RUU and let it finish. Ohh! And don't forget to relock your bootloader before running the RUU. "fastboot oem lock"

i think i am able to wipe something if i unlock it again but i have no idea what and what effects it is going to make if i do and if i am not going to delete too much (like HBOOT itself) and stuff like that...
is that way possible at all in my condition? is there any tutorials about doing so?
I just unlocked it again. i have some options..:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
wipe catce + dalvik
wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
format system
format data
format boot
format all partitions (except sdcard)
format sdcard
is deleting something going to make me able of installing gingerbread ruu? (because in theory just this old rom is good to my device)
is there anything useful in this list?
If you do a full wipe that's not going to effect hboot but all your data and the installed rom itself. That means you will not have a usable rom flashed on your phone so it will automatically boot into bootloader. But try to download the ruu I linked and follow the steps. If it doesn't work then we can figure out something else.

anyway it is still interesting to me what can you delete with these functions of "4eXT" in the list and if my theory about deleting something and installing gingerbread is right? if yes what should i wipe or format?
When you are flashing roms, in 4ext recovery, there is an option to format all partitions. By doing so you can achive a fresh and clean install of the chosen rom. It does not affect your hboot or your firmware. It only ereases the partitions roms are using. To install gingerbread roms or ruu, you must flash the appropriate gingerbread firmware first. To do so, you must achive s-off first. As you already have 3.32 firmware installed you are "only" able to flash all the currently available ice cream sandwich and jelly bean roms. Hope this helps.

Honestly, do not worry about bricking your device, just enjoy the freedom rooting gave you. If something goes wrong, you can always use that ruu. The latest voda UK version is 3.32.161.(52)? The main thing is the first 3 digits: 3.32-> ics firmware, ...161-> Vodafone UK code. The last numbers don't matter. Always make sure you flash the correct rom according to your firmware version and your device
Btw. You can install roms require 3.32 or 3.33 firmware! Enjoy flashing!

[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 5.0.1 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + firmware

Go thank @homeslice976 For helping me do the system pull for the 5.0.1 RUU. Since I don't have the device anymore it was a great help!
This will NOT work on a CDMA HTC One GSM ONLY!
This thread is NOT to support changing your MID, Changing your CID, Rooting or Flashing a custom recovery. If you need to learn how to do any of those do NOT use this thread to post in. Post in the respective dedicated threads to complete these processes. This thread is ONLY to support flashing the RUU. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is NOT a general 5.0.1 discussion thread.
Furthermore, if you need any more detailed instructions than what's stated in this post then you really shouldn't be doing this to your device. If you need a "video" or ask for "step by step" instructions you will NOT get anything more than what's in this post (at least from me). There is no easier way to do this process, there is no easier way to explain it. If you read the post and still don't understand what to do then I advise you to leave your phone alone... Read and then read some more until you understand everything.. WE WILL NOT SPOON FEED YOU IN THIS THREAD!
This procedure is not easy and is not really noob friendly, well flashing the RUU is not really difficult but it's the prerequisites that are more complex/risky. If the instructions aren't clear enough for you or you require further hand holding then I'm sure most of us would advise you stay away from the process.
Also, please do not PM me for support. PM's will not be answered. Post it in the thread. It helps other's having the same issue find a solution. If it's over PM it only benefits you and not everyone else

Thanks for trusting us not to brick your brand new phone.
To Daereys, and Originator, and everyone else involved in getting the partitions dumped
Thank you very much!
I haven't had that much fun in IRC in forever.
VERY important don't do the procedure in the OP unless you have backed up your STOCK BOOTLOADER
Here are instructions for reversing all of this
Prerequsites:
S-off
1.44 HBoot
RUU for your device
Ok I thought reversing since I had S-off would be a simple affair and maybe I took a misstep along the way but I got it done.
Here's what worked FOR ME.
1) set CID to superCID
2) install the 1.44 Hboot in RUU mode (thanks SneakyGhost) http://d-h.st/qfc
3) install the RUU for your phone/carrier
4) if RUU is unavailable for your carrier, install the 1.44 hboot, one of the stock 1.29 roms, and change CID back to your device's CID
If you changed your MID you'll need to change that back as well.
5) change CID back to your device.
This will take you back to a factory fresh install with 1.44 bootloader
RevOne still works and I retained S-off.
If someone else has an easier way that works, please let me know.
Please NOTE:
Restoring the RUU took a long time and looked like it hung up a couple of times when I ran it. Just let it run.
The following thread from Sneakyghost has everything you ever wanted to know about Hboots and then some. Please read it.

there's no reason to flash this stuff unless you want a full conversion.
I imagine with S-off you can put back your old HBOOT and be fine

[Q] [Help] [Solved] One X Stuck at Fastboot, Out of Ideas, Failed RUU

Hello, after looking into my problem all night (it is 4 a.m. now) I still cannot get my One X out of its issue.
Background to this story:
Bought this phone from a friend who had TWRP2 as the recovery, unlocked, s-on, supercid. I wanted to upgrade to a newer ROM, specifically Carbon on Jellybean 4.2.2, and I needed to update hboot to accept the newer ROM. Follow the procedures of multiple threads and they all lead me down the same path of re-locking your bootloader and let the install do the rest. However, the installer has failed multiple times (error codes 140 and 158) and I am now stuck and have no idea where to go next.
The current status of the One X is not to great. It now has a relocked bootloader, HBOOT version of 2.14.0000, A broken recovery, what seems to be a mismatched baseband, Stuck at FASTBOOT USB, no ADB, will not boot into a ROM, RUU will not complete its job (fails at sending ROM), and I am all out energy and grammar.
*Trying to re-unlock the bootloader via HTCdev will NOT unlock it.
I am stuck, (yea I am a noob). If you need anymore info, just ask.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think you should try and flash the stock recovery and then RUU. I couldn't find the stock recovery in RedPoint's compilation roll-up thread, but I found it on a youtube video when I searched "att one x stock recovery". After you get the stock recovery installed I believe you should be able to then RUU.
Flashing the stock recovery only really applies when you're trying to take an OTA, it isn't required for an RUU.

Alright, gonna need to fix it later. (Recovery still broken, I assume because of the failed RUU)
Which RUU are you trying to run?
Is this the AT&T version of the One X?
Be aware that running any Jellybean RUU (3.18, 3.17) with S-on and SuperCID will brick the phone. So if you were trying to run a JB RUU, it might actually be a good thing it didn't install.
If you were trying to run an older RUU (2.20, etc.) then it will fail since the hboot version is older (hboot 2.14 goes with 3.1x).
Do you still have a TWRP nandroid available (if not, whey the heck not?!?!). Have you tried to flash TWRP again using fastboot? If that works you can try to get your nandroid restored. With S-on, be aware that you will need to flash the boot.img for that ROM separately using fastboot.

As already pointed out by timmaaa, this is incorrect. RUU installs stock recovery on its own, and stock recovery is therefore not needed for an RUU (only an OTA).

Yes, this is the AT&T version.
I was trying to do an RUU with RUU_Evita_UL_Cingular_US-1.73.502.2_2FE6772699D8596307CC997452BB8D25.
Anytype of backup was made on the phone with TWRP, if TWRP still exists on the phone, it should be there.
I have not tried flashing TWRP back. I can try that next, can you point me in the right direction? Which version of TWRP do you recommend? (I am a noob)
"With S-on, be aware that you will need to flash the boot.img for that ROM separately using fastboot." I am not aware of this, (again, noob) do I just extract the boot.img from the zip and use 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' ?
It looks like the problem is that you're trying to run an RUU that is older than your current firmware version. So, you would need to use a later RUU. But, like Redpoint said, if you are s-on and SuperCID this will brick your device. Maybe what you should try first is flashing TWRP recovery again and seeing if you can restore a backup or even just flash another ROM.
Download TWRP 2.6 from here. Put the file in your fastboot folder. Connect phone in fastboot mode, open command prompt from within fastboot folder, issue the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "filename.img"
(the exact filename, minus the talking marks)
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you can enter recovery on your phone and see if you can restore a backup. You are s-on so you will need to flash the boot.img from the ROM that's backed up after restoring it. If you didn't backup the boot partition you might be out of luck.
If this is the case, download a ROM (and gapps if it's an aosp ROM), extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and place it in your fastboot folder on your PC, copy the ROM zip (and gapps if applicable) to your phone, flash ROM zip (and gapps if applicable) in TWRP, reboot to bootloader, connect to pc, give this command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot your phone and hopefully it will boot.

This is why you are getting errors 140 and 158. As timmaaa mentioned, you can't run an older RUU than the hboot that is already on your phone. The RUU you stated is very old, the 1.73 firmware with 1.09 hboot that came out at the phone's release. You are on hboot 2.14, so once the RUU sees that your hboot version is greater than that of the RUU (1.09), it fails.
Thye 3.18 RUU (which comes with hboot 2.14) would be what you want. BUT as already mentioned, you should not run this with S-on and SuperCID, as there is a bug with the Jellybean RUUs where this combo will brick the phone (not fixable without JTAG or new motherboard).
Follow timmaaa's steps in the previous post.

You might be in a catch-22 here then. As you know, you can't install custom recovery with a relocked bootloader (and S-on). You can keep trying to unlock it, but I'm not sure if that can be done if the phone can't boot.

Yeah, normally RUU would be the answer. But the RUU bricking bug mentioned is stopping you from going that route.
Keep trying to unlock the bootloader. If you were able to relock in the current condition, maybe you can unlock. Unlocking is quirky and will fail, then will succeed after multiple attempts. So just the fact it hasn't worked yet, doesn't necessarily mean it won't.

I am currently not home to interface with the device physically (RDP). I should be returning around 4PM EST.
The superCID was written by the previous owner. Writing a generic CID (like HTC_001) is not an option with s-on, is it?
*Are there any RUUs that won't brick when flashing?
<Sorry for the double post but this post is different then my last>
Interesting thing, I can still write the recovery image even though fastboot claims it is 'relocked'. Here is the command line output.
sending 'recovery' (8028 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.993s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 1.720s
The signature checking failed, but it still accepted the image. Not sure if this means anything.
You could try hex editing your CID back to its original CID, but it must be the original CID to match the CID that the RUU is looking for, not just any CID. In order for this to work your would need to have adb fully working though. Please note the method I linked to above is to gain SuperCID, but the principle is the same, you just want to change 11111111 back to CWS__001 for an at&t phone.
The only RUUs that won't brick are the lower ones, which you can't run because you're s-on.

Interesting thing, I can still write the recovery image even though fastboot claims it is 'relocked'. Here is the command line output.
sending 'recovery' (8028 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.993s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 1.720s
The signature checking failed, but it still accepted the image. Not sure if this means anything.

Can you actually enter recovery? The failed message tells me that it hasn't worked.

Fastboot claims it wrote the recovery image, it just failed the signature check, unless it reverted, should it still be there?
I am not home to try it. I am RDPing to my computer at home, which the phone is connected to. I should be home at 4PM EST (4 hours from now).

Being able to unlock the bootloader will solve all my issues, I should be able to try again when I get home.
It looks to me like it failed while writing, but I may be wrong. The info you just posted looks to be ok. I'd continue to try unlocking the bootloader.

[Q] Stuck on Hboot/fastboot with full stock phone

Hi guys,
My sister sent me her HTC One SV aka K2-UL i offered her from expansys on june, it is stuck on Hboot
*** LOCKED***
K2_UL XA SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0000
eMMC Boot
...
I can go to Fastboot USB ( or AC )
She 's worst than a noob so phone is stock, up to date but non-root non-unlock, still S-ON and so on.
just once phone reboot and stay stuck...
From here i can navigate but after reboot i'm still here.
I tried :
factory reset and recovery (with rom renamed PL80DIAG but would be too easy...)
RUU but RUU asked for bootloader so stuck on "waiting for bootloader"
go to htc dev to unlock bootloader but after flash unlock token ( unlock token check successfully) but : Nothing happens and still writtten ***Locked*** then if I "fastboot oem unlock" it says failed :<remote : loading custom splash failed>
fastboot flash boot.img but nothing works since still S-on and locked bootloader (superCID is out too)
flash custom recovey or even fresh stock recovery but nothing worked for the same reasons...
Do you guys have any idea of something i could do?
Thanks for your answer and forgive my English I'm French
As long as you are ***LOCKED*** you can quiet do nothing.
To use our available RUU you must also be unlocked & S-Off.
Somewhat the same situation
I am stuck here:
***Tampered***
***Unlocked***
K2_PLC_CL PVT Ship S-ON RL
HBOOT -1.01.0000
Radio - 1.12.00.0208
OpenDSP - v.7.2.0221.1123
eMMC - boot

I can get into Fastboot as well as bootloader, I CANNOT GET INTO RECOVERY. I have tried to restore with the respective RUU files from the All things HTC ONE SV forum. I have also tried to flash the recovery boot and radio img files through fastboot usb. NONE of this has worked for me. I really enjoyed this phone before I went and made it all FUBR. If there is anyway to get it to boot to any recovery or rom, i will much appreciate it. Thanks for all your help from previous posts as well as any future help I get from information posted here.
Related to your hboot, you should be able to flash any recoveries, but i usually recommend this one.
What command do you use to flash recovery and do you get an output from "fastboot devices"?

Oops you already are 4.2.2. I have a system.img and a boot.img that I can make into a rom.zip to flash via the OEM-RUU mode.

Thanks a million for the replies. I was able to lead the recovery and get into it (the most progress i have had in a year with this phone). With that being done. When I go into recovery I am unable to mount the internal storage. I am not too sure of the procedures I need to go through to get this thing functional again. I have been tinkering with my S3 for the last few months, but with KNOX on now I am looking to Jump ship completely from both verizon and samsung. Enough rambling, Like I said thanks for the help, any assistance in getting this thing to boot to a ROM would be much appreciated.
BTW
I used the fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I have tried this before with no success. This time it worked.
I also flased the Radio and Boot img for ICS.
Thanks.

If you want I can just skip you to 4.2.2. You don't need to reflash recovery and stuff. I will make a package that will update HBOOT and radios. And system/boot.img.

He first needs to be S-off, to flash radio & hboot. I have made a 4.1.2 rom for cricket, must be linked in my index thread. Wipe all, flash the rom, flash boot.imgwith fastboot and hope that little baby is booting.
If yes, use moonshine.io or rumrunner.us to get S-off.
Then we will do next steps.

Wow! Awsome! This bad boy booted. I was able to flash the rom through recovery. This is much further than I expected to get with this device. Now when I try to go S-Off with either moonshine or rumrunner I get an error saying not able to make adb connection. When I use fastboot devices my device will show up...if i do adb devices nothing...Would love to have S-Off and SU installed. But like I said this is much further than I expected to get so anything further is icing on the cake. Thanks in Advance.
Is Usb-Debugging enabled?
Any output from adb devices? HTC Sync installed (for the drivers)?

He can just use the Naked Driver for the adb driver. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822
Ok I DID have USB debugging enabled. After messing with the drivers and my Windows 8 computer, I have came to the conclusion that it is something with the drivers and their compatibility with Windows 8. Either way moonshine or rumnunner never worked for me in a windows 8 environment. I dual boot ubuntu 12.04 anyway, it saw my device just fine adb and fastboot. I ran moonshine and it went through all the testing stages, but was never able to completely run...so I still have no S-Off. Do I need to update Hboot or anything? Also am I able to load a custom rom on this device with S-ON? I have been looking but I do not see many out for this device at all, which is a shame because I feel as though it is very comparable to my GS3. It would be nice to see a nice AOSP ROM on this device. But all take any updates I can for the device, hopefully it will help with the issue I have will cell reception dropping all the time. Thanks
To answer some of your questions:
- you can't update hboot because you are not stock and not S-off
- there are indeed not much roms to flash, but you could do with S-on (and unlocked bootloader)
- if you would flash the Sense 5/Android 4.2.2 rom, you would have noizy sound, without the firmware files (which you need S-Off to flash)
Another way for getting S-off (which should work with your hboot), is facepalm.
But the part of changing CID to SuperCID is very risky, read carefully and only do, when you are sure you understand, what to do!!!

Thanks for all the help! I am now SuperCID with S-OFF, Facepalm worked like a charm. Would it be possible to put slimrom on this device? Anyway thanks for all the help, I am going to check out some ROMS..as far as flashing goes, I am assuming how I have my phone now I should be able to flash any rom that is compatible with the device.

You're completely S-OFF? The radios and new HBOOT update need to be flashed in RUU mode. Let me get my bearings and you can flash everything. (adb reboot oem-42 or fastboot oem rebootRUU is a way to get to RUU mode.)

Yes I am completely S-OFF with CID 111111 and SU. The phone has been working good, Cricket service is not all that great in my area. I see there is a software update 2.04.1050.5 (15.1 MB), I am assuming if i run this update it will most likely wipe everything I just did. Is this correct?

I think. Anyways, download this: http://www.mediafire.com/download/maa60jha4eod834/rom.zip
Contents of said rom.zip:
4.2.2 system.img with root.
4.2.2 stock boot.img.
4.2.2 stock recovery.
New HBOOT and radios and stuff.
If you get an error (flush again or something.), then just resend the command. (fastboot flash zip path/to/rom.zip)
