Probably, I always do a full wipe whenever i flash roms though. Just helps to avoid problems cropping up.

You are awesome bro why didnt hash think of this...well he is rude haha and never replys this is just what iv been looking for it would be cool if you would add your own boot animation or something to make it a bit more individual but great work dude

hashcode wants to make a cm 10.1 pure, and then developers could modify it in the way they want

Cool, thanks will check this out later, quite like the tablet UI.
As said good to see more people working on things for the KFHD7.

It has nothing to do with "hash not thinking of this". If you follow my work on any of the Kindle's -- I've never added anything which isn't supported by the CM base, as this would be sort of hard to get setup as an official CM device.
And even if I wasn't aiming at official support for the HDs... you're saying you want me to stop working on audio fixes, HDMI, otg support, deep sleep and 3d performance updates to add and maintain a tablet UI?
I do apologize if I don't respond to every message. I normally receive about 20-50 a day across the 12 devices that I work on and that's just XDA.
I think, this is a perfect mod for a ROM dev to make from the base CM sources (though, I would love to work with the SGT7 devs to get some of this merged into CM)
It gets the community involved and lets me continue to improve the underlying device functions.
Great work Jester6.

Thanks man, that means a lot. This wasn't a huge undertaking by any means but it was my first crack at anything to do with development. I had the same feeling in that the community should be able to step up, get involved and make something different even from the same sources. I wanted to try and learn some of this as it's always been interesting to me and if someone can get something out of my work then all the better.
Enjoy guys, this is not finished by any means.

No flame wars please guys, I'd like to keep the mods out as much as possible.

Btw jester, great work I wanted this since I really like notifications on the bottom xD... anyways, really appreciated . Sorry fro fighting

Aye, could definitely be. There are some framework changes so try wiping and report back please.
Edit: Anyone else having these problems? I've been playing with mine most of the day and haven't had any weird display issues.

Still same problem... It wasn't fixed even after factory reset and system wipe.

Lewa OS
I will probably update this less frequently, maybe once or twice a month. I no longer use my Evo 4G.
LeWa ("Happy/Funny Frog") comes to us from China and is a MIUI-inspired ROM based on CyanogenMod 7. It's an incredibly lightweight ROM made primarily for yesteryear devices comparable in specifications to our Evo 4Gs. Don't let its sub-100 MB size fool you, though. It's still filled to the brim with features, such as built-in power and battery management, CPU control, and memory clearing. I can confidently recommend LeWa for daily use.
This ROM is stable out of the box. I try to keep my modifications to a minimum and stick to the spirit of the original work.

Tips
- Double-tapping the lock icon on the lock screen will bring up music controls.
- Press volume-down and menu at the same time to take a screenshot.
- Pressing on the data usage statistics in the notification panel will bring you to a screen where you can slide to the right to change your "Monthly data limit."
- Pressing the green orb in the notification panel will kill all open apps. Holding it will bring up its whitelist. (You likely want to add your input methods (Swype, Swiftkey, etc) to this.)
- You may put *.apk files in /sdcard/APK/ to have them automatically install when flashing the ROM.
- If you're a chatterbox, be sure to turn on SMS splitting in Message Settings.
This is a pretty solid ROM. Its official versions are released for both MDPI and HDPI devices, and most of the devices that LeWa supports are on the weaker side of the hardware specification spectrum. As such, there should not be any lag or resource issues with the Evo 4G. Indeed the vanilla ROM weighs in at ~75 MB and with my additions, it weighs in at ~95 MB.
Notable Changes
- Mason-G-d15rc4-sbc-supersonic has been added.
- QuickPic replaces stock gallery app.
- MX Player has been added.
- Mi FileExplorer replaces LeWa's "SD Manager."
- Jorte Calendar replaces "Calendar 365"
- A themed version of Swype has been added.
- Swapper, CStore, Gexin, and other unlocalized apps have been removed.
- WiMAX has been added.
- CMParts has been added.
- Battery Bar has been added.
- PDroid has been added.
- MIUI Torch has been added.
- Modded News & Weather has been added.
- Modded Play Store has been added.
Known Issues

Swiperat - remove roaming indicator
ajrty33 - auto-connect to data network without having to go to APN settings
LOTK & Team DIRT - I learned quite a bit tinkering with Deck's ReLoaded.
LeWa OS Team - developing the user experience that's built into this ROM
CyanogenMod Team - developing drivers, APIs, frameworks, and resolving many device-specific issues, all of which made porting this a breeze.
AOSP - developing the core components and framework of Android.
Honorable Mentions
MIUI - provide much of the design inspiration that goes into LeWa OS
MIUI.us, Swiperat, et al. - major kudos to you guys for your work on porting MIUI. I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass it would be to port one of these ROMs without a CyanogenMod base. You bros deserve special recognition for that.
Common Concerns and Queries
Please read through these before asking for help.
- Circaflex offers some guidance to get Visual Voice Mail (VVM) working.
- s8perman confirms that this ROM works with a2sd.
- Backlight is activated on incoming message, and there doesn't appear to be a way to disable that functionality.
- RockoDev Beats Audio can be added by downloading and flashing "ICS & GB BeatsAudio"

You know what? That's one thing I haven't really tested. I've used Mason kernel with it, and that seems to work fine. I haven't tested beyond that, though. I'd expect that any kernel that works with CM7 will work with this.

It's the second one with the CM nightly and LeWa 12.6.8. The experimental one will always be more updated.
I'm avoiding more traditional terms like "beta," "final," etc. because those generally indicate stability. The experimental release isn't necessarily less stable than the primary release. It's simply less tested. For all I know, it might offer more as far as stability goes.

Havent tested hotspot but for the apps i found this odd as well, there is no app drawer which i know from MIUI but i couldnt find them on the screens either. Somehow i stumbled upon edit your screen then at the bottom it will say shortcut and you can scroll through your apps and add them to the homescreen. Or just switch launchers and youll get an app drawer.
EDIT: just tried hotspot using the built in utility and I am getting the same error, unable to actually establish an internet connection.
Are you running papa smurf scripts? I am, just so OP has an idea if its the rom or scripts if you arent using them its a ROM issue.

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone.
Features :
PAL, First time in Android history that Per-App-Layout has been realized
This rom features a setting called Per-App-Density - PAD. It basically allows you to scale apps, make them bigger or smaller. This is a must for tablet mode since it shrinks your apps considerably, making them useless. you can even scale widgets and framework components like the navigationbar. You can define an apps native DPI with it, make it look stock, smaller or bigger than that, your decision.
All apps are depicted at DPI 182 per standard. No other rom has that feature right now
Google Play does not allow density changes and will stop working if you mess around with that. This rom fixes that problem for you 100%.
More stuff: Recents window closer to stock, fixes for overlapping elements, framework fixes, no crashes, working Phone (looks 100% like stock aswell),Sense 4 Recent Apps too etc.

Its possible through 3rd party apps and only if the contacts app is being shown as phone format. But once you have set them you can switch the view back and it retains the ringtone.
Change the view in settings and paranoid then select the list of apps choice and find contacts

I know that some of the jellybean roms are quite laggy....how's the performance on this one?
ok, whats the difference between this and the original one? Only thing I can tell from the screenshots is the nav bar on the bottom is gone on this one??
And man, i miss baked :crying:
Is it possible to include a scratch and sniff app that smell stinky? maybe a notification smell instead of a sound?? :silly:

For another it runs on my phone. I had problems with the other, don't think it & my phone got along, even this morning I flashed the latest, no go. But this is running great, also I'm impatient, at work so no wifi, obviously not recommending this but I dl all over 3g. Anyway, thank you, love the black look. Nice.

Does this have the theme Chooser in it? Couldn't tell from the pics
I can't get lockscreen wallpaper to stick. Fill color works, but selecting a wallpaper does not show.

Yes it does & works great.
EDIT - Props to the dev here. Been running this since it came out (even dl'd over 3g, impatient) and it has been running great. Wallpaper on lock screen doesn't work, couple of glitches here & there, but all jb is that way. I couldn't run the other black bean rom, I tried several times, but this is definitely a keeper. Thanks muchly Swiper, great job.

A status 7 error usually means, your recovery is out dated and needs to be updated, but its usually not that at all,its more than likely a bad download, check the MD5 sum.In other words its trying to say your rom isnt compatible with the recovery.

apparently, at some point I did a custom MTD partition. I did so much flashing on this evo when it was my daily phone, that i completely forgot, untill i was looking on my sd card and saw the zips for the custom mtd recovery and custom recovery boot. I thought I had zero'd out the custom MTD.txt file so that it restored to the stock partitions.
i appologize for being a flashaholic.
I reinstalled smelkus 4.3 just to be safe. was just about to redownload the rom again, figured i'd give it a shot to install one last time and BAMMMMMMM
just got through my initial boot, going to sign in and reboot to flash the inverted gapps.
i've face palmed myself a few times by now. thanks for the help guys

Whoa what did I miss?? I was testing roms all morning and what the hell?
Oh well, tried this an wow its smooth! Not to mention, how damn fast it finished booting.
Great job on this bro!!
Just few quick questions, I don't remember cuz I'm also a flashaholic, which rom it was but on the lock screen I had a link for the Google Now. Is that an option on this?
Second, its just me but can you also at some point include the mod for changing carrier name? I tried the ccn app but it didn't stick.
Other than that, its awesome!
I'll take AOKP anything

Galaxy Exhibit CM9 PURENEXUS (10-07-2012)

Hello, I made a custom rom based on Jocala's CM9.
To be clear, most of the work belongs to Jocala and other awesome people that are beautiful.
WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL.
I want this to be a community-based rom where your (viable) suggestions are heard and make our clunky low-end phone less painful to use.

I took this from Jocala's CM9 thread.
This rom should be mostly stable but help me test for any problems. Also, it should be fine to flash without ROM wiping CM9.
Time to give credit where credit is due.

YESS, finished uploading! The problem had to do with a newer version of the Adreno libraries. I fell asleep in my desk then my computer fell asleep too. So that stalled my uploading and I had to re-upload at around 50kbps because of my crappy internet.
Rant finished, try this out please!

Edit: First thing that's a problem is SuperSU, please remove it because it is a major conflict with Super User. Phone is crashing big time because of it.

I think I'm going to use a script to remove Superuser because from a freshly-wiped ROM, SuperSU works fine (tested with Titanium).

BTW Google Now FCing, even after data wipe. I uninstalled with TB, then rebooted. The Google Search bar works again and GNow is gone. I may reflash M7 at a later time to see how it does. Now that the dust has settled, the ROM is operating smoothly. Initial boot was a nightmare however. Probably going back to RR but hey, it's great we are getting more ROMs from folks like yourself.
Thanks for the addition, with some tweaking it'll be just fine!
Thanks Dude! this seems awesome! since your looking for tweaks and such here are my suggestions

I applied it to Jocalas last build out of preference, but I would love to see it implemented in your rom!!!
Thanks again!
EDIT: Also if you plan on just tweaking the 9/28 build (the latest one) continuously, I could just upload my modded apks )

lol, both of your problems come from the update-script file. The Google Now thing comes from me neglecting to add permissions (I'm a noob). IT TAKES FOREVER TO UPLOAD, I WANT TO REPEATEDLY STAB MY EYES OUT.

About the transparent thing, I'll look into it but I don't even know how to decompile apk files. I'm sure I can learn but if you could guide me or modify it yourself, that would be great. I plan on making an AROMA installer once I do learn how to.

and this rom's forte is to provide a clean experience that's true to Stock ICS. I don't want to theme it or anything because I'm afraid enjoy the default theme (which I do). I will try to bring more customization into this at a later point.

I would first like to say tht this is custom firmwre, your warranty is now void, also please do not blame me if ur phone dies, makes u late for work, or pocket dials ur significant other while ur with ur other significant other... You are fully aware of what can happen by flashing ur device so, make sure u are one either CWMv6.0.3.6 or TWRPv2.6.1.0+, now enough said let's do it...
1) Download ROM and place in ROOT of storage where u have access...
2) Full wipe is required, data, system, dalvik cache, and cache 3x each (3x is a persomal preference), if u want to dirty flash updates please do not complain to me about issues as i have stated the obvious about flashing gapps over gapps...
3) Flash ROM, DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, gapps are included in build and will cause severe lag/RR/FC's if flashed on top
4) Reboot ROM and let sit 5-10 min BEFORE setting up, as to let things settle (not letting her settle will cause issues and laggyness)
5) Now that she's sat for a min, set ROM up and follow with 1 more reboot, or reboot and then setup..(I always setup then reboot)
6) ENJOY PRO-bam ROM, this thing is fun, so many options and settings, how can u not love it???
DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, THEY ARE INCLUDED IN BUILDProBam v4.5 Android Version 4.3.1 Skyrocket

Is the email app fixed in this? When I was using PAC, some apps would open in Tablet mode and the email app was messed up when you opened it up to set it up. I did make sure Phone mode was selected and the DPI was the stock 240, but it didn't work. Thanks.

That was the fix for it when it was in the testing phase. It should be the fix. I think other ROMs that enables PIE may have that inherent problem

That is all I did here to when I was setting it up. I couldn't press the bottom of the screen from the homescreen. Pie kept popping up. I went into settings to turn it off and it was already off so I turned it on then back off. It worked for me. Everything works great now.

Yep. The default is on even when it says off. For easier setup try adding a little bit of down swiping when pressing the lower keyboard. This was the easiest way to get thru setup for me. As always YMMV. Your mileage may vary.

Lol, That happens. XD. I hope you guys enjoy this one. This is compiled with Linaro. It's been super solid for me the last couple of days. If it starts lagging or anything a quick reboot fixed this, also if the home screen doesn't display your apps just hit the icon for the app drawer, they're there just not drawn. Seems to happen after a intensive app has been running, or leaving an app open for a long time while the phone is asleep.
Hope you guys enjoy, remember to rate the thread.
Have fun!

Awesome ROM. Thanks so much for this.
Was using CM 10.2 but I missed the features of PA and AOKP. Nothing against PAC or its devs but it just didn't feel that solid to me.
This ROM is great. Please don't abandon and I look forward to all future updates
Great job!
Any ideas if the locked screen notification works? If so, how can we enable it?
