What's the difference between root and unlock/lock? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hello i would just like to ask what's the difference between root and unlock/lock?
For a specific reason i am trying to install a premium game (a cracked APK file from apkmania.com) and it requires for a Lucky patcher of the game so that it's license verification will be somewhat disappear, and when i was browsing about that lucky patcher it says that i need to have a rooted device, so can i do a root of my device without unlocking it?
Also my phone's build number is 11.0.A.5.5 Sony Xperia Miro and this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014188) says that my phone should be rooted on a 11.0.A.1.0 firmware but my phone is not rooted on that build number because once i purchased my Sony Xperia Miro i immediately upgraded it to 11.0.A.5.5
Now my question is how can i downgrade my phone to 11.0.A.1.0 firmware so that i can root it then upgrade it to 11.0.A.5.5 then root it again thanks

Maybe you should try to root it with some other method first. If you want to go back to previous version, just flash that version instead. Maybe you should try srs root, a new unlockroot style program.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i

You can root your Miro on 11.0.A.5.5 without rooting on any other firmware, download unlockroot and use that. I used it on my Miro what shipped with 11.0.A.5.5.

simple bro!
download 11.0.A.1.0 firmware( ftf file) . download flashtool! flash it using flashtool!
here is an ultimate guide if u are a newbie!

Just download unlockroot program and use it to root your device.
It works like a charm.

Maybe it will work, if you downgrade to 11.0.A.3.18 or .28 (download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/jlo-xperia-j-firmwares-collection-one-t2385526) with flashtool, root it and install and then cwm

Help me how to root my Xperia Z3 D6603 Lollipop 5.1.1 with unlocked bootloader

Hello Everyone
I hope you understand me, because i'm from the Netherlands and my english is not so good in typing
Is there a thread or is there someone who can help me to root my Sony Xperia Z3 D6603 with Lollipop 5.1.1 Build-number 23.4.A.0.546
I have unlocked my bootloader because i thought it was easier to root.
I have search on google and xda-developers how to root my device but nothing worked i have installed Giefroot, KingRoot, Klingo Root, One Click Root but nothing worked i even downloaded Flash-Tool 0.9.19.10 where i have unlocked my bootloader with and tried to root with flash-tool.
I always had samsung devices and was easy to root and install custom firmwares but Sony devices is not so easy to root so i need some help.
Greetings Mustang1982
Can't help completely, however beter search the forum. Bytheway English is good to understand. I'm Dutch too.
Seen thread in Z2 recently about pre-rooted firmwares with the latest sony firmware ending with 1.232.
Looking into that for my Z2 in a couple of days.
For whats worth it. Read the thread completely, has some steps about unlocking, recovery.
In basics you need to have original sony FW in case of failures, and flashtool and drivers for your Z3 installed. Mostly Windows 7 PC or Laptop.
Goodluck.

Install a pre-rooted ROM from the Development section if you have an unlocked bootloader.

No prerooted ROM needed for rooting with unlocked bootloader.
All you have to do is:
1. Install custom kernel for 23.4.A.0.546 (my androplus kernel or other kernel)
2. Enter into TWRP
3. Install SuperSU
Hello Androplus
Is In your custum kernel twrp and SuperUS been installed?
And can i flash youre custom kernel with flash-tool?
Sent from my D6603 using XDA Free mobile app
1. Yes, AndroPlus kernel have a TWRP
2. No, SuperSU should be extracted from TWRP recovery
3. Read carefully how to flash a custom kernel with an unlocked bootloader. FlashTool isn't used in this process.
Ok how can i find this page on XDA?
And on this page is everything step by step how to install?
Sony does not have a recovery mode where i can install the kernel?
And if i have installed the custom kernel how can i start into twrp. What buttons do i have to hold?
Sorry for So much questions but i have no idea how it works on Sony devices
Thx for al the help guys:thumbup:

Hey, man, just try to use the search function on the forum! All of your questions was answered many-many times.
Search for this:
1. How to flash a custom kernel with an unlocked bootloader?
2. How to enter into TWRP recovery?
3. How to flash SuperSU from recovery?

Now you dont have a recovery, that is why you could not get into it.
Lets go from step by step.
First step: download a custom kernel and flash it with a fastboot tool. All information is here https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+flash+kernel+with+fastboot
Here is a direct link to the theme with an AndroPlus kernel for your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56439759
