Hello,
i have touch problem with my lg 920 p . so i need root the device and flash ice cream rom or any new and light rom except Gingerbread.
thanks
Why you think it is gb dependent thr touchproblems? I never had touchproblems on gb, i didnt think you touchproblems will be solved if you update on ics. Anyway you can directly download the ofgicial lg updatetool on lg.com and update normally when you are on gb.

So I have 2.2.1 and I was wondering is it possible just to update it to 2.3.2 without downloading a rom or rooting it? I like it the way it is. And is there also a way to recover the Inception file??

how are you going to install a 2.3.2 rom if you don't want to download it?
besides, 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 are the newest gingerbread roms.
Gb isn't out for stock yet your gonna have to wait if u don't want to root and rom

i am newbie to i9003. but i rooted it and applied lag fix,
its firmware is 2.2.1, do i need unroot and undo lag fix before upgrade to 2.3.5 via kies?
NO....
if you are not afraid flash it using odin...
Y update thru kies if you are goin to root?
Flashing via odin is better.
There is a flashing guide made by misledz, u'll easily find it. It's a sticky
Go thru it and if confused then post here again.
And no need for unroot and stuff

The official ICS is already out?!
Also you can install OTA updates and keep root just install 'OTA RootKeeper' from the android market when you have successfully rooted your device
I didn't test it yet because I modded my stock rom too much and there wasn't an update >4.0.3 yet. But the app is from supercurio and will probably work well
you can flash a stock otA ICS 4.0.3 rom after rooting

My phone is on 2.2.2 but when I search for an update it says I am on the latest. Obviously Gingerbread is out now but for whatever reason I can't update. How do I fix this?
Your carrier provides ota updates if and when they can be bothered to do it. Use the kdz method like everyone else to do it yourself.

Have you tried lg mobile support tool or the phone build in update tool?
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
You can't update the phone using the phone's inbuilt update tool for some random reason. You must you the LG mobile suite on a pc to update your phone to gingerbread. You might as well wait because ice cream sandwich is coming out in a few months.

Now i want to flash stock ROM and recovery in my P500 because i plan on selling it...these guides seem too old now...

flash oldest custom rom that you find and update after with LG Suport Tool to stock 2.2.2 , that will make your phone stock withaout custom recovery or anything else, download from LG site that tool, and 2.2 or 2.2.1 roms you can find in development, something really old
or downgrade to old bb and upgrade with same LG Suport Tool
I think is safest way
