I got this same problem recently. I was locked and unrooted. The thread I made is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253834
It worked for me after I wiped the data. You could try flashing a .blob file as EndlessDissent suggested in the above thread
If it still doesn't work, then you could try sending it in to Asus RMA

Has your warranty ran out or did you void your warranty?
I'm locked and I was able to flash a .blob file. You have to be in the bootloader of your device and connected in fastboot mode. Try typing "fastboot devices" to see if your computer is recognising your device. It didn't work for me all the time but I did get it to work eventually

What Android version are you on? I assumed (mistakenly so it appears) that you were on 4.2. How long have you tried waiting? Also, did you type in "adb devices" or "fastboot devices"? Have you moved the .blob file to your fastboot folder?

I'm not sure if it works the same way on ICS. Regardless, where are you getting the .blob file from? I would think (although I could be wrong) that you would need a .blob file that matches the firmware you were on (ICS) as opposed to an updated one (JB) so make sure you're flashing the right .blob file

Your issue seems more pc side of things, try running fastboot as admin, If "fastboot devices" does show anything up it would suggest problems on the pc
i think you you need to get the blob in the same folder as fastboot then hold shift and right click the folder and choose run command file here (or something like that) then that should work

If you can boot, you are not bricked - just start over with the root process using the correct image.

Try a diff USB cable - download drivers from MOTOROLA website get this file - MotoHelper_2.1.32_Driver_5.4.0.exe
Okay here we go....
first thing let your xoom stuck on M logo.
Then hold power+volume up.
while power up press volume down to get firstboot.(make sure your PC and xoom know each other.)
You will see some text firstboot bla bla bla on left, top of screen.
Second thing open window cmd.exe
then type ...
cd /AndroidSDK/tools (where ever your adb.exe is located)
fastboot flash boot boot.img (the right boot image)
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
wait for reboot. You should see splash screen and you smile on your face.

Glad you got it going!
Had a similar problem where I had a boot loop and adb didn't recognise my device, but I could still put it into fastboot or recovery with power + vol down.
What I did was boot the Xoom so that it was stuck at the Moto logo, connected to the PC and queued up the fastboot command (fastboot flash boot boot.img) so the command window said "Waiting for device...", then reset the Xoom and manually put it into fastboot again at which point it picked up the queued command and started flashing.
Dear transformers,
My Transformer TF300T is a brick !!
I've got TF300T, with stock JB 4.1.1.
I'm not sure if it permanent, please help !!
I've unlocked my device via the official Asus unlock device tool.
It went well.
After few days, I've downloaded few programs from the "Google Play".
One of the programs, allowed to automatically enter recovery after reboot.
I opened the program (of course I don't remember it name), click on "enter recovery after reboot", and then the problem started !
Please see attached screenshot.
The device is stuck on the Asus logo, without any progress.
When I'm trying to enter the recovery menu, with "Power + Volume Down", the device turning of for 3 seconds, and getting back to the exact same position.
I cannot choose "RCK", no Android, no USB option, nothing !!
What you see in the screenshot, is the permanent condition...
When the Transformer worked, my computer recognize it, but now when it stuck on the Asus logo, it seems that the computer even doesn't see the device !! (although the driver is installed...)
How bad is it ??
It is a hard brick ??
Can I do anything without RMA it to Asus ??
I'm pretty sure that Asus won't support the device, because I've unlocked it
Please help !!
If XDA couldn't help me, I'm really lost... :/
Thanks a lot !

so you have NVFlash that you can enter APX Mode?
then you could just restore a backup like here - but I'm really confused an APP should have broken your rck/fastboot menu

It seems like the only thing that respond, is NVFlash...
But I still don't know what exactly to do with it...
The link you've sent me is for TF700...
This is the output of it (screenshot attached).
I absolutely agree with you that apps from the Goggle Play shouldn't prevent me to enter RCK / fastboot, but the RCK / fastboot worked until I've installed and used it... that all I know about why it's happened.
Is there a step-by-step solution for how to work with NVFlash (or wheelie) with TF300T ??
Thanks again !!

Thanks,

Unless you already generated your device-specific NVFlash files while still on ICS, you will not be able to use NVFlash/Wheelie at this point. Wheelie needs those files to run and they will only work on the device they were generated on. The NVFlash files cannot be generated after upgrading to JB as of now.
Does your computer recognize it as an ADB device?

hm so if you don't have the ICS backup'ed device-specific files NVFlash can't help you - only thing I found was this with unblob'd system updates - what would make sense would be if you could do the same with unblob'd TF300 blob's - other thing which I would recommend to try first is THIS as it sounds like the same problem and ppl seem to agree (although OP didn't answer anymore) - hope I can help you a bit although I'm not familiar with NVFlash

Hi everyone,
After 4 long weeks I officially announcing my TF300T is dead...
After hundreds of posts, I understand that with only APX mode (no RCK, no fastboot0), there is nothing that can be done.
Thanks for all of you for your support, I'll now contact ASUS for RMA.

Hi,
Since a recent OTA update, when connecting my Tablet to my PC nothing happens. There is not even an unknown device or such showing up in device manager in Windows when I plug it in. Going into the recovery, i get the 4 icons (RCK, Android, USB and Wipe Data). When going to USB, i get the message that the fastboot upload protocol has started, but still connecting it to the pc, nothing happens. I don't even get the familiar sound in windows when USB devices are plugged in or disconnected.
I've installed the Android SDK as well as the USB drivers. I even tried to plug the tablet into a complete different PC and still get no response from the pc that something has been plugged in to the usb connector. I also tried a different cable with no luck. The keyboard dock is working perfectly, so I assume the port on the tablet is working fine.
Am i still missing something, or is there something wrong with my tablet. Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to root the tablet and apart from having unlocked the boot loader i'm stuck, as i cannot flash a custom recovery until i can get my pc to see the tablet.
My tablet is currently running stock Android with the latest OTA upgrade. And like i said previously i could see my tablet fine using the USB cable but since the last OTA nothing.

Thanks for replying to my thread.
I've already tried another computer and another cable. And the same thing happens when connecting the dock+tf300 to the computer. I don't get any response from any one of my computers. (I've tried my laptop (Win 8 64 bit) my pc (Win 7 64 bit) and my wife's pc (Win 7 32bit)).
Is there any way i can flash recovery from the SD card? not using fastboot? this seems to be my only option if possible. Unfortunately I bought the tablet in the States when i was over there, but live in South Africa, so not sure what would happen if i had to send it in if any repairs are needed.
I think there is a way of flashing a recovery using a terminal. You need to be rooted thow... But there is another way you can repair your tablet. I'm not finding it right now but I'll report back here once I do
---------- Post added at 02:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 PM ----------
Here you have
1) Download the latest firmware from Asus site (based os your SKU, download it on the tablet since you can't use the cable)
2) Extract the .zip file (you can use ES File Explorer or any other app from the market to do so)
3) Rename the extracted archive to "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.ZIP" (without the " ") and upload it to a MicroSD card (I'm not sure if this will work on the internal memory, but you can try it )
4) Insert the MicroSD card in your tablet and use this button combination to Power ON and go to recovery --> Start the tablet by pressing Volume Down and POWER togheter for 5 seconds ,a message will inform you that you have 5 seconds to enter the recovery, press Volume UP before the 5 seconds expire.
At this point the device will go in recovery and should start repairing your firmware .

Ok, I did as you said and the update worked. My tablet now shows JRO03C.US_epad-10.4.2.20-20121228 where previously it was JRO03C_US_epad-10.4.2.18.
Unfortunately though, the USB still does not seem to work. I still get no response from the tablet or the computer when i plug the usb cable into the pc. So unfortunately nothing changed. Is there no way to flash an already rooted version of the firmware to the tablet? (the same way i've flashed this official firmware?)
When i plug my HTC One X into the pc, i can go into adb (adb devices), I see the HTC One X (HT24HW100698). But when plugging in the TF300T adb devices show nothing.
A read that 'fastboot devices' will not show any device, and that using 'fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery tf300t-jb.blob' will just flash the recovery image. But while the bootloader says 'Starting Fastboot USB download protocol' and with the usb cable plugged in, all i get in my command prompt window is '< waiting for device >'
Are you sure the problem isn't the cable itself? You got a really awkward problem there lol

Unfortunately I asked a friend of mine to test my cable on his tablet and he could sync with it.
I suspect i have some sort of a hardware failure. Now to just find out if Asus in South Africa will be able to assist me, as I bought this in the States. I also unlocked the bootloader as I thought I was going to root the tablet. It was only after the unlocking that I realized the connection to the PC is not working.
Maybe it did had something to do with the unlock process...

Well, thanks for taking the time to help. I've now located the service center in South Africa, and will take it there. Hope this is not going to cost me too much. I really like this tablet and would love to root it to get some more performance out of it.
If you can think of anything else i can try, let me know. But I suppose the next step is to take it in and hope for the best.
Thanks again.
Good luck then. They shouldn't have to charge for something a OTA did... it's kind of unfair lol

Ok, so i got a call from ASUS today. I need a replacement motherboard, but because I unlocked the boot loader, i'll have to pay for it. That sucks. If i just realised my port was faulty before I started with the unlocking, i could have avoided this. :crying:
So even though the unlocking has absolutely nothing to do with the fault. I suppose I can't complain as I saw the disclaimer. Just mad that I did not pick up the fact that the port wasn't working before I unlocked the bootloader.

Then when I just plug in the tablet I can transfer any files from my pc to the table, but it will not read anything on the command prompt. Any help would be great. I've re-installed the drivers, and re-installed all of the software many times but I'm just at a loss.

This sounds like you are trying to run adb, before plugging in your tablet?
Using adb generally requires your tablet to be plugged into the USB port of your PC.
Anyhow, another way to get into the boot loader is to hold the volume-down key, while switching on the tablet.
Hope that helps.

I have finally been able to unlock my TF300T!!!!! But now I'm trying install TWRP or CWM so I can root and I'm having a few problems...
I've been trying this guide ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845377 ) and I'm stuck on Part 3 step 3.
The command prompt is reading :
C:\tf300tsoftware>adb reboot bootloader
error: device not found
Then when I just plug in the tablet I can transfer any files from my pc to the table, but it will not read anything on the command prompt. Any help would be great. I've re-installed the drivers, and re-installed all of the software many times but I'm just at a loss.
Thanks again.

Need to know if you have the proper device drivers. You can transfer files from PC to tablet because that uses different drivers.
What happens when you type 'fastboot devices'?

You can accomplish part 3 step 3 without adb. Power tablet off. Power on by holding power and down volume till you see the bootloader menu, release both power button and down volume. Now continue with part 3 step 4.
Good Luck!

I am having the same problem. I connect the tablet and it seems to connect fine (MTP) but adb doesn't see it. When I enter the command above it just returns the next line with no results.
I loaded the Asus sync from their website which doesn't seem to have made much difference either.

Got USB debugging turned on?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
Hello,
So I'm trying to unlock and root my tf700t now that my warranty is expired and hope for an ASUS update is diminishing. I downloaded the unlock app from the website and went through the procedure. It took a few weeks and several emails with ASUS support but I think it is unlocked. The reason I say I think its unlocked is whenever I reboot the device, I don't get the message that says its unlocked. The unlock app however says the device is unlocked. So is my device unlocked?
I operated under the assumption that it was and tried to install the twrp recovery using the minimal adb and fastboot exe file. My tablet is recognized by my PC and I put the tablet in fastboot. The error I get when I do that is a writing error. It says writing recovery.... FAILED <remote: <INVALID STATE>>. Does this mean that I am not unlocked or did I do something incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated. I've been working on this for a few weeks and really want to get it moving.
Never heard that before..... If your bootlaoder is unlocked it should say so when you boot up.
Did you run the tool again?
If in doubt call Asus support and check if they have it as unlocked in their database.
But my guess is, since the recovery flash did not take, it's not.

They contacted me today and told me that it is unlocked. Everytime I run the tool, It says the device is unlocked. When I do the power + Vol down, I get the three icons ( RCK, Wipe data, and an android). Ill try applying the recovery again later tonight.

Sounds like you are all set. You run fast boot from a pc when connected over USB and on that screen with 3 icons If it fails you have a driver issue.

I attached a picture of the message I get from the minimal ADB tool. I'm also using the universal Drivers ( the ASUS Fastboot Interface). I tried the ASUS Android Bootloader Interface as well.

It says waiting for device. It stayed that way until i manually put it into fastboot. I've attached a screen shot of what it looks like when i did that. If my tablet isnt unlocked, how would I get it unlocked then? The unlock app ( both version) says the device is unlocked.
I am in the same boat - they think it is unlocked but it is not
The Asus v7 and v8 bootloaders both say "device is unlocked" but the fastbook info shows that it is not. I do not see any unlock inormation after the boot process starts. Also , the unlocker did not automatically restart my tablet. It also asked for my google credentials the first 5 times until the unlock said it worked. Now it does not ask that, it just says that it is unlocked. When I try to fastboot install the TWRP rom, it fails.
(remote - invalid state)
I called Asus and they have my tabler listed as unlocked. They are opening a case so that I can prove that it is unlocked. Then hopfully if they reset that setting, I can re-unlock it...
I was following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2571542
Is there any work around? Please help!
I want TWRP and CM 10.2 on this slow TF700T tablet.
Thanks!

Well you typed fastboot device not fastboot devices.
Did you 2-step verification enabled for Google by any chance?
I think Asus need to update their database so you get another chance ... Good luck

No, I did not have two-step verification. I hope Asus creates a case and actually looks into it and resets my device's status in their system. It sounds like that is my only option -- a very lengthy and painful one.
I disabled 2 step authentication since it interfered with the app. I would get invalid password errors until I disabled it and then the app worked.

Are you sure your device gets recognized at all by your computer?
Usually the dialog just stays on "waiting for device" if the computer detects anything attached.
You have the necessary drivers installed?
Check in Device Manager (if you are running Windows) if there is a yellow triangle next to the entry for your tablet.
There is no other way to unlock. The bootloader is encrypted and only Asus has the key.

The device is recognized by the computer. It says waiting for device when i type in "fastboot device" instead of "fastboot devices". Theres no yellow triangle either. I've sent an email to ASUS and I'm waiting on their reply.

Fastboot device doesn't do anything.
I think you just need the right drivers. Let me see if I can dig them up from my collection. No point contacting Asus, they won't help you.
Try these, you need to unzip to same folder as fastboot and update device manager when in fastboot.

Where ever you are running fast boot from.
You must open a cmd window in the same directory or change to it using the CD command.

So I've been trying for the past couple of days to get root and flash a new rom but it doesnt seem to be working. I've contacted ASUS and they said my tablet is unlocked as of December 16th but they will contact Taiwan to see if something is wrong. Do i have any options if they say the same thing? Thanks again for all your help. I appreciate it.

I have followed the TF700 forums for the last year pretty extensively and until about 2 weeks ago never read about anyone having this problem: Asus database having you unlocked, but it actually isn't. Since then I think I've read about 4 cases.
My best guess: It's a problem with the v8 Unlock app or the way their servers store/process the information they get from the Unlock Tool.
That you got to a support person willing to contact Taiwan is a big plus already. Other users just ran into a wall of: We do not support unlocking this device.
So stick with the person you contacted already. Take pictures of your boot process (to document that it does NOT say: This device is unlocked) and they always seem to ask for a screen shot of your About Tablet page with your SN number and MAC address.
Persistence seems to be the key. And luck to get someone at Asus willing to help....
There is no other way to unlock the bootloader. So you would be limited to rooting the tablet which would give you more freedom to tweak it and uninstall bloatware, but you still would have to deal with the slow stock rom.... :fingerscrossed:
