[Q] Real Android ROM Development - General Questions and Answers

Greetings to all members of the forum.
I would like to ask the more experienced developers of android custom ROMs - "what do you advise to read on this subject?" I'm a student, I study as the programmer, so that the experience is there, but all the articles describe work with the kitchen. I would like to read something more serious, very interested in this topic (the device on Android, but as such this brand no online, as in this forum, respectively firmware this custom not), would like to try.
I would be very grateful for the links. Please, do not send me in Google. He wouldn't help me.
Sorry, for my English)
P.S. Now downloading the sources from the repository AOSP.

[Guide] building and modding custom roms

First of all, i hope the mods and admins forgive me that i open this thread in the development section, it would better fit to general, but i noticed that the developers aren't really present at the general section, if i'm wrong please move it.
This thread is build to become an collection of our developers knowledge that helps newcomers to androiddevelopment to start with it. I know out there are some guides already and in every thread there's a little bit of it, but i would really like to collect as much as possible at one place, if it's not your opinion delete it.
It's not ment to become an step by step guide (but if anyone will write one i'm sure not upset ), it should be an collection of links, and posts of special parts of development, cause i think most developers aren't the overall specialists, but kings in their section^^ and the readers of these informations can compile what they want from it.
So pls dear android developers share your knowledge with us
There are some links i found:

[Q] Some guidelines needed by experts. Please.

hello everybody, I am new to xda. I needed some guidelines. as my situation, please give!
the situation is that I want to be a developer but i'm confused what to do. I know just basics of html only. no other language or its basics! and I think my html basics will also go in vain as I want to be application developer, not web dev. now I request from experts that they advice me what to do now because once they were also beginners and have seen the stage where I am now.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Completed] Asus ME181C

I am looking for someone who wants to develop on the ME181C. I have been playing around with it and have gotten it to talk to my pc and to get into the recovery menu. I do a little programing but nothing like you developers here on XDA. I just want to share this information because I don't see anyone working on the ME181C yet. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, but I didn't know what to put it under. Please contact me and I will pass along the info. Also if this should be posted some where else let me know.
Hi there,
A good place to share and to get others to help with development would be the Android Software Development and Android Software and Hacking General [Developers Only] sections
Though you will need to get up to 10 posts to post there so contributing in some Q&A sections would be a good start!

Cm11 for Quanta Gigaset QV830

Hello all,
I ask you if you could create cm11 (4.4.4) for my tablet Quanta Gigaset QV830.
I was looking for most of forums, but i found nothing.
And I ask you if you could say how to flash twrp on this tablet.
Thanks you
Sorry for my bad English, because i'm from Czech Rep.
We need more developers to look at this
A custom recovery seems to be an issue I also can't find anything about it working anywhere it would be nice if some dev would take some time to see if it is possible.
First, this is not a ROM request forum. Second, it's generally considered rude to ask a developer to make a ROM. Developers for the most part do this as a hobby, in their free time with no compensation outside of any donations they may receive. They do not work for you. You are welcome to start reading and researching how to build your own Android ROM.
Please do not make further posts of this nature.

[Completed] [Q] Planning to start building my own ROM, a cry for help (Samsung G. Grand Prime VE)

Firstly, happy new year to everyone c:
As the title says, I'm considering making my own ROM for the SM-G731F.
I've lurked around XDA for quite a while now and I can't seem to find a guide that's able to clarify the process for me.
So I decided to make a post here,
The ROM I want to make should be something as close to AOSP as possible (for what I've seen, no Cyanogen or ROMs alike are available, so..), but my programming skills are lacking.
Even with guides about building or porting ROMs I haven't yet figured out where to start.
So here come a few questions:
1. Can I build a AOSP ROM for my Samsung device (AFAIK I need some base ROM right?)
2. Assuming that porting is not an option, is building a ROM from scratch a viable way to do this? (Even though my programming skills are close to none I've had some experience with C and I'm willing to put in the effort)
3. What will be the main challenges to this?
Cheers,

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. First, consider taking a visit to XDA University:
XDA-University
There's lots of helpful information there.
Also, you can ask for help in your device's Q&A forum here:
Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!!

Thanks for your reply @The_Merovingian,
I haven't even thought of that (I know, I know), anyway, thanks for the tip.
Guess I'll have much to keep me occupied
I'll see what I can find then, cheers
