I've run into trouble trying to install CM on my sgs3 vzw phone.
I flashed aboot.mbn, boot.img, and recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.1-d2vzw.img via heimdall v1.4 RC2 on ubuntu 12.10-64bit (used 32bit heimdal as 64bit did not execute).
Phone rebooted between each flash; not sure if that should have been expected, or not.
On the last reboot I saw "recovery booting..." in small blue text at top of screen with "Samsung", unlocked icon, and "custom".
Then the phone tried to reboot showing Samsung Galaxy S III flash screen, went blank, played the music tones like it was booting normally, but then hung showing the blue dot flashing and a blank screen.
I can get back to the download mode, but when I try to boot into recovery it repeats the above process.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
I've recently flashed ClockWorkMod Recovery using Odin to my Samsung Galaxy mini S5570 device,
the opertion was succesfull (Odin said PASS), but now when I try to boot into Recovery (pressing Middle button and power button) the device just get stuck in the Samsung screen (the first screen you see when you regulary power on your device).
Will be glad for some help!
*Any Ideas how to fix this problem? or why does it occur?
1) Will HardReset/FactoryReset the phone will uninstall ClockWorkMod Recovery?
2) Do I need to ROOT my device prior to the flashing of ClockWorkMod Recovery with ODIN?
3) Can I remove/uninstall the ClockWorkMod Recovery?
Thanks advanced for your help!
Same issue
Hello,
I've got exactly the same issue and do not find any answer
Thank you for your help!
Etienne
Same here..
Same problem here, It just shows the samsung logo and that's all, I can't finish installing firmware
Stuck with first screen
I am also stuck with the opening screen. Prior being bricked the phone went through the washing machine. Board was cleaned. It still has carrier SIM lock on it. I am digging the forum for imput, but no luck so far.
With USB clable plugged in it shows only a small phone and computer icon with yellow triangle+exclamation mark on the dotted line between them. Cannot load the hard reset menu. The Download menu with big triangle comes up, that showed at least the display is working.
Odin 4.38 was able to flash the Clockworkmod, but no Gingerbread or some other update. The time runs happily but MIBIB will not load, and i must turn everything off.
I have the same issue. Wondering if there is a fix for this. Can boot into download mode but not Clockworkmod Recovery. Stuck at Samsung screen.
Okay well I found a fix!
I was trying to update CWM Recovery via Odin when I still had Froyo installed on the device. Classic rookie error. You need gingerbread to use the latest CWM. All I had to do was install an official samsung gingerbread ROM via Odin and then I was able to re-install CWM sucessfully. Now running CM9 on my Galaxy Mini and everything is great, very snappy (few bugs though)
Hi guys,
Really sorry to ask about this but tearing my hair out!
I have a P6200 UK model. I installed CWM v6.0.1.0 and it worked fine. The intention was to install Galaxy ROM HD (build #06), so I downloaded it, put it on my SD card, and installed from CWM recovery. The install got stuck on "Flashing boot" - so after around 15 mins I reset it.
It went into a boot loop on the initial Samsung logo. Luckily I'd previously re-flashed stock HC with Odin (to cure a dead Wifi problem caused by, I think, an errant install of Busybox) so I did this again, rebooted, and the system came up, text started scrolling up the screen, followed by a red error message (see picture) and a reboot. I was then once again stuck on the initial Samsung Tab 7.0 Plus log. I repeated the process and it didn't even get past the Samsung logo.
So I thought I'd try the newly released ICS Rom (GT-P6200_ATO_P6200XXLQ1_P6200OXALQ1) - this seemed to install OK, then half booted, did some text type installation stuff with the blue Android, then rebooted again, finally getting stuck on the Samsung logo with blue pulsating behind it. It never gets any further than that.
I tried flashing HC back - same result as earlier. I can also reflash CWM and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It seems I've run out of options.
So - question is - where (if anywhere!) can I go from here?
Help greatly appreciated, many thanks!
have you tried a system wipe in cwm? if not do a system wipe and reflash HC using odin.. same thing happen to me 2 days ago.. I think something is up with HD rom
So ive been running CM 10.1 with CWM v6.0.4.3 for several months without major issue until last night. I went to send a text message to someone, and right as i went back to my home screen, the phone froze, rebooted, and when it finished rebooting, the deice would freeze again as soon as the lock screen was reached, and reboot again. Cue repeated circle of freeze, reboot, finish rebooting, freeze, reboot.
I turned the phone off by taking out the battery, put it back in and charged it overnight without booting it up. Went to start the phone today, same issue still. I would boot into recovery and try to re-flash the OS, and it would give me a status 7 error. After re-downloading everything into my sd card, i was eventually able to get the system to re-install cm10.1.3, and it booted up normally. I downloaded and installed ROM Manager, and installed the newest version of CWM Touch, version 6.0.4.5, and then tried to boot into recovery to install CM11. It showed the CWM Hat icon in the middle of the screen, with the version on the bottom of the screen, then rebooted on its own without showing any menu options.
Now if i try to boot into recovery, it just shows the icon and version again, then reboots, and wont go past the CM loading screen with the spinning cyanogenmod icon.
Not sure what to do at this point, i cant get into recovery to try and flash something new, and i cant get past the CM loading screen to actually use my phone. Any ideas? I have zero experience with adb, so im stumped.
UPDATE: Solved, i flashed TWRP over CWM using Odin, and was from there able to re-install the OS. Things seem to be working fine for the most part, with the exception of one random reboot last night.

You can try to reflash CWM with Odin, if that not working, you could try to Odin back to stock.

I figured it out yesterday actually and forgot to update! Indeed I was able to flash TWRP with odin, since CWM seemed to be blocking me from doing anything. Once that was up and running, things went back to normal, i was able to flash CM 10.2.1 and things seem to be working now.
One thing though, while playing skyrim last night i had it on the charger next to me, and the phone randomly rebooted without any interaction from me. Was odd, but it hasnt done it since. Keeping an eye on it still.
This morning, I was on the current CM experimental build. I decided to flash the latest nightly. It flashed normally. It got about halfway through the "Android is optimizing applications" screen. Then, it shut off. It now boots to the point where the CM guy is on the screen with the spinning arrow and then it hangs for a few seconds and reboots. I figured something went wrong, so I decided to wipe it and re-flash the experimental build. When I tried to boot to recovery it gets to the point right before the buttons appear, then it reboots. (CWM Touch 6.0.4.5) I then decided to try download mode. Download mode appears to work fine, except that nothing recognizes the phone. I tried Heimdall, Odin, and even this weird Verizon Tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586319 (I know that it's for a different version, I just wanted to see if it would show up). I tried under Window and Linux, uninstalled and re-installed drivers, swapped USB ports and cables. It has no listing whatsoever in Device Manager. Custom binary download is off, the current binary is Samsung Official, the system status reads custom, and secure boot says that it is enabled.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I tried downloading xposed on my phone, but it got stuck on the tmobile loading screen, so I panicked and I wiped everything from my phone. There is nothing on it only 2 folders labeled 0 and twrp. I am able to go to download and recovery mode. I have tried flashing the stock ram using odin but i get a failure message. When i boot my phone its just a black screen with the blue led on. How do i fix this?
