[Q] P6800 7.7 NO USB audio PLEASE HELP !!! - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.I'm new in Android world.
I work on my car stereo project and it's in the middle and I stock with usb-audio out issue.
I have a Samsung tab 10.1 from local AT&T store and P6800 7.7(int.ver.) that I just bought to use as a head-unit in car.
When I connect 10.1 tab to DAC the power lights comes on, on DAC and HUB and it gives me audio out of USB (30pin) .
When I connect P6800 to DAC the power lights comes on, on DAC and HUB but i'm getting message warning "high power USB device connected... cannot access this device." and sound goes to internal speaker.but USB-HUB powered by external power supply.
Restarting with connected or disconnected HUB makes no difference, same result no sound via USB.
The 10.1 already came with ICS4.0.3 and 7.7 I updated via Kies to ICS4.0.4 and both support USB-Host.
I'm using 30pin -->USB-HUB OTG kit --> Behringer U-CONTROL UCA202 DAC.
Question is WTF is wrong?
Should I flash 7.7 to ICS4.1 or any other custom ROM?
Anyone ???
Thanks

Can u charge 10.1 with pc? In settings, go to dock option and check it, you must use the original dock, 3rd party accessories are no guarantee to work. Try flash custom roms but i doubt they will also cause ppl hardly succede with hdmi let alone dock sound, plus atm they still have problem with stable roms :|

Thanks for reply.
Yes it can charge from PC, even if it's says "Discharging" it's actually charging but slow.
Also I just tried to connect already powered HUB to 7.7 and it's doesn't give me warning about " Hi-power usb connected but can't access " anymore,
it looks like exact like it would 10.1 connected with green lights on DAC and HUB but sound plays internally no mater if dock opt. checked or unchecked .
I assume 4.0.3 vs 4.0.4 does not related to that issue as well as 3rd party accessories since it's works with 10.1.
Flashing custom ROM and loose some features is doesn't sounds right too.

Well they are 2 different devices, you cant say that. The softwares are different. I noticed you use the word hub. Try connect directly to the tab, and try different accessories. Its hard to compare different devices even though they share similarities. Perhaps compare 2 7.7 is better.
Or youcan send me the tab and i can have a look at it. Mine works perfectly

What accessories do you use to connect your 7.7 to DAC?
I mean HUB or otg cable?
By the way usb flash drives and memory cards works fine with 7.7 via that usb HUB. I'll buy otg cable to see if it get me audio out.
Here is the HUB

Nope this rubbish won't work. Haizz. Wasted time with you when you insist on your mistakes. Hubs won't work ever. From 2.0 speed you get down to 1.1

OK I got this OEM Samsung USB Connection Kit direct to DAC. DAC light is on,"USB connector connected" came up but same result.Only internal plays.

OK I GOT AUDIO OUT with "rubbish" usb-hub mentioning above but only when I use "USB AUDIO RECORDER PRO" app. So it's not hardware issue it's on software level.
How to make it happen with other apps without flashing? I need to make it work with any internet radio apps.

Ok it was purely luck. Otg are purely for connecting external devices to your tabs. It is not meant for connect your tabs to other devices. When you connect it to the PC you can see that it require driver for Samsung for the PC to recognize it. This tag does not have mass storage mode, it only has mtp and ptp mode. So the proper way for it to function as media storage is to connect it to the PC, or having a media player can function as the PC would, but I doubt there is such available. Maybe you cab try Ubuntu embedded? Again I don't recommend such measure. It is getting too complicated.
Or you can also build a media player with driver speicifically working with this tabs to specifically pick out the audio output from the USB
Or you can use the original dock and connect the audio route. It is much simpler
Or you can switch to apple devices, they are popular and get supported well.
And you can send the tab to me
Sorry buddy, you ran out of luck

"build a media player with driver" OR "use the original dock" are not the options, and apple is not even under consideration.
Actually I do use original dock ,but it does not provide the options to get data of USB, it's for charging purposes only.
So I just removed that 30-pin connector and used one from USB-hub.
The only question is to find player that capable to send sound to USB.
ANYONE PLEASE?

God with this Guy. With the dock not only you get sound output but also HDMI. go snd buy the original one
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda app-developers app

The original vehicle mounting dock has sliding 30pin to round connector adapter only and cable with usb to that connector is included.
so what hdmi you talking about? Unless you talking about different dock but I'm talking about this to be able to use it in car

No the stand dock on table, the car holder are just for holding and charging, if you want you can stick the desktop dock on car surface, or connect the car dock to the stand dock

Yes I can but it does not give me USB-audio out anyway.
It's a driver issue.I can flash to custom ROM but still did not confirmed what ROM support USB-audio.

[Q] Micro USB port stopped working on Xoom. Help!

I went to plug my Xoom into the HD speaker dock and it wasent picking up my music it would only play through the speakers on the tablet. So i took it to my PC and it doesnt even detect a device. Please Help!!
Did you try a different cable/USB port etc? I do not know anything about the dock but don't those things use the dock port/connecter on the xoom and not usb? Sounds like two issues to me. But again I don't poop about the dock.
Yeah it also uses the USB port that's how it plays the music but it just won't pick anything up and even on the computer it acts like there is nothing plugged in...yeah I tried different cables but the same thing happens

[Q] Re: Nexus S usb host is not working

http://support.google.com/ics/nexus/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2386439&topic=2375623&ctx=topic
According to the official Google Help Page, it should support USB Host. However searching online have returned a lot of out-dated threads about how the USB chip works when it was still running Gingerbread.
I have purchased a USB adapter, tried to connect any USB device to my Nexus S, and nothing happens. The USB port will not be powered. However quoting Google's official help text :
You may need an adapter to connect the keyboard or other device to your phone's USB port. To connect more than one USB device at a time, use a powered USB hub to reduce the drain on your phone’s battery.
This implies that connecting devices to your Nexus S will drain your battery?
I am very confused. I have no powered USB hubs so I cannot try to see if the USB host function is purely limited by the lack of power or the USB chip.
I am sure I am not the only person who would love this to work. Is there anyone who knows what does it take to get USB Host to work on Nexus S upgraded to ICS? (Despite Google's help site indicating that it should just works out of the box)
Thanks a lot.
So, I spent some money and bought a powered USB hub.
No it didn't work.
I think the reason is that the power is not being transferred UPSTREAM. For example, I have connected the USB hub to my Nexus S, and a Logitech wireless mouse receiver to the powered USB hub.
Although I am sure that the Logitech wireless mouse receiver has power (from the USB hub), the Nexus S does not recognize the existence of the USB hub, since the power is not transmitted from the USB hub back INTO the Nexus S.
Feeling disappointed, I repacked everything nicely and exchanged my purchase for a slightly more useful 16GB SD Card.
Does anyone has any information to how is this supposed to work?
Or should we assume Google has made a stupid typo in their help articles, and that the Nexus S will not actually work in USB Host Mode ??
anyone please?
I too am looking for answers. Anyone?

OTG USB HUB with charger

Hi,
In order to make my tab as a laptop replacement, I want to connect it to an external HD plus charging the tab at the same time.
I am looking at this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/7-1-Card-Card-Reader-USB-HUB-Combo-Connection-Kit-SAMSUNG-Galaxy-Tab-/180767619221?pt=US_Memory_Card_Readers_Adapters&hash=item2a1696f895
Now I guess I will separate my questions to make it easier to understand (in all cases, assume that there is external power plugged into the hub already):
1) with nothing plugged into the hub, will it power my tab?
2) with an external HD plugged in without another power source for the HD, will the HD work and will the hub still power my tab?
3) with an external HD plugged in with another power source for the HD (let's say Y cable where the second usb cord goes to a power source), will the HD work and will the hub still power my tab?
Thanks
I think the best way to find out is to buy it and find out, dude. It's only $5...
I havnt tried that exact "dock" but im using a dock with only a mini hdmi output and a charge input, my hdmi only works if the charger is connected, otherwise its just a black screen... Dont know if its the same with that dock you want but i think it is, the tab is manufactured to need the powersource to show the pic since it needs the stronger current, correct ne if im wrong but i read this somewhere in the forum about the galaxy sIII

problems with usb otg cable

I recently bought an otg cable for my tab 2 7.0, a d I tried keyboards , mouses and flash drivers, but when I plug a controller of any type, it just powers but the tab doesnt read it,and also when I plug in my phone it just charges without any data transmission .
But I found out recently that by connecting a USB hub I could use the controllers and the phone normally without any problem , so can any one please help me here as I don't want to make a series of connections just to connect a simple controller.
Try plug your external device to the OTG cable first and then plug the OTG to your Tab 2.

Didnt work and i tried the card reader and it doesn't work also
Edit : only wireless mouses and keyboards work
How would it work with a normal hub and it doesn't work without it?
So you could try,
Plug the usb otg
Then plug in a usb hub (with 3/4/6 usb ports on it.)
And I believe it needs to be a power based hub, that would possibly Work then.

The problem is that i don't need to plug in a POWERED hub, the ordinary hub works well with it @[email protected]
Sounds to me like you have some sort of a connection issue -captain obvious- and gonna guess your usb on the go cable does not give a solid connection
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
can you to be more specific? cause if what you say is correct then how does every thing work when i connect the hub to a damaged cable?
Here's an idea.
My Xperia s could not use a ps3 wired controller it used to say 'power output unavailable etc etc' (but wired mouse and kboard Work fine )
But my Xperia z and Asus tf300 can use the ps3 controller wired with no issues
With shadowgun deadzone, gta 3 , max Payne etc..
This is why I recommended a powered hub.
As mouse and keyboard don't need much power to operate
But the controller does for some odd reason
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
i can use a non powered hub without any problem , i don't think it is a power problem at all
the problem is that there is not data transmission with some devices like wired mouses, keyboards and controllers while some others work fine like flash drivers and wireless mouses and keyboards.
But when i plug in a simple USB hub all work just fine the wired and wireless devices.
could it be that the otg doesn't work with usb 2.0 devices?
U need to download an app called usb jostick center 7 its an app that u use so I recognizes the remote(i leave link below) I use my tab 2 7.0 (p3110) with xbox controller with dead trigger, gta vice city, gta3 etc. But u need this app fir it to work!
Regards. Mitchell
Press thanks if I helped!

Actually i am using Usb Host Controller to see if the device is read by the tab or not, and when i plug in the controller without the hub , nothing is detected at all
Sounds like you have a bad OTG. Check my signature for a good OTG cheap on Amazon ($6.99). Hope this helps.

[Q] Dock Mode for Galaxy Note 4?

I found my Note 4 have dock mode with the old dock for other Samsung's phone. But doesn't work with the audio out.
Have anyone know the purpose of the dock mode for the Note 4?
Or there is audio out for the dock mode, which only my dock doesn't fit the electric requirement?

Does your Note 4 have the "Audio output mode" setting in Settings, General, Accessory, Dock? That's what tells it to use external speakers when it's docked.
Does it output via hdmi? 720p, 1080p?

Also, is it an official Samsung dock?
Official Samsung Multimedia Dock (for Note 2 & 3)
I have verified that my official Samsung multimedia dock works EXCEPT that the standard audio out jack does not appear to work.
HDMI audio works in both stereo and surround mode. Video is output at 1080 30P.
Has anyone tried it with the plain OEM desktop dock (EDD-D200BEGSTA) that just has audio output? I wonder if the Note 4 doesn't handle all of the extra outputs of the fancier one (EDD-S20JWEGSTA).

Correct! This is one reason I went back to a Note 3 for now.
If you search you'll find that this has been discussed at length in several other threads. I'll sum up here for you though- basically the Note 4 at this time does not support audio out over USB the way the previous gen Galaxy devices did. This means it won't work with the desktop docks or with the car docks/cables that split audio and charging on one cable. Essentially any device that tries to provide both audio and charging simultaneously through the usb port will not work. The Note 4 WILL support audio over USB with a USB OTG cable and a DAC, but you can't charge while using them.
However, Android 5.0 Lollipop does have audio out over USB included as a standard feature, so it's quite possible that once we get the 5.0 update this will begin to work. I haven't been able to find any solid proof, but my suspicion is that Samsung knew that 5.0 would have this feature included and so they just didn't bother to build it in to the initial release of the Note 4 (interestingly the S5 also suffers from this). Why take the time to develop a feature that's already being included in the first software update anyway? Again it's just my own personal theory, but I wouldn't be surprised to have this feature start working once we get Lollipop.
Anyway, a simple search of the forum will turn up a bunch of other info on this, take a minute to look!
With Lollipop now, this feature does not work. Could be a hardware limitation.
I believe it has something to do with the Fast Charging capability.
Standard USB uses only 2 pins for power, meaning either of the remaining pins can be utilized for audio, probably the data+ pin, or possibly the second ground pin.
However with fast charging, the data+ and data- pins are used to communicate with the charging controller, so they can't be used as audio out. This seems to be the case, as an old "faster" charge cable I made way back does not work with Fast Charging. (the cable was made by an old common trick where you short the 2 data pins in the USB A side, essentially telling the phone no data was going to be used, just charging."
I have the Multimedia Dock as well, and I noticed that limitation when I got the phone. Though honestly it didn't bother me all that much, as the Note doesn't like to stay in it anyways, and I rarely used the audio out.

I bet you're right, but I don't know of any other phones that have audio out to compare against. For example the Nexus 6 supports dock mode for Daydream, but I haven't found any docks that can activate it.
How to activate Dock Mode
I discovered that with the app called "Smart Connect" you can customize what apps will activate based on what peripheral device is connected. You can set this up for the usb dock, 3.5mm input, etc. You can control what happens when something is connected and when it is disconnect. You don't need root either. This isn't perfect, I still preferred the way the Note 2 and 3 worked but it does help.
Youtube video on this issue
we go over this in our video on YouTube, no go on the audio out for the Note 4.

The dock could be used to attach usb dac to phone and to charge phone at the same time, right?
The question is: will usb dac & charge work at the same time if I connect dock to low level usb power cable? e.g. if I connect dock to car charging adapter?
We unfortunately do not have a USB dac to test this.
Yes i can confirm that using a usb dac with smart dock obviously does work.
The only thing that does not work as it was said before is the dock audio jack.
My dack is my best workaround solution so far.
