(App Request) InfraRed Program for any remote - Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

does any one know if this would be possible use the phone's ir for any remote not just tv.
maybe have a ir signal learning feature so any remote can be used after learning

yes please i want that too! that watch on thing cant even turn on my sony amplifier!

"WatchOn" app is the one for remote control, try it

touch squid pro did the job for me!

the best is touchsquid leave watchon it lags and doesn't have all codes and no macros and no custom remote setup

the ir (I think) is just a ir blaster therefore unable to learn codes sent to it (only send codes)

you bought it?? isnt it too costly?

Im interested in the air conditioners remote...is there learn function?
please dont post links for cracked content!!!

and what about learn (manual) function...than you can control basic functions on almost every device...

I didnt notice any learn function in that application.... I am not sure it has one...i was busy and didnt spend too much time on it.

and what about manual (learning) mode, than you can control basic functions on almost every device?

Pretty sure that the S4's IR blaster is just that. It blasts it doesnt receive which means it cant learn unless its codes downloaded from the Internet.
It sends signals but it cant receive signals.

OMG are you sure? because HTC Ones can learn from original remote controllers...if so what a shame...

What a feeding ground of Warez related talk.
Might i remind everybody who has posted in this thread, that warez, and warez-type behaviour and discussion IS NOT tolerated here. We're a development forum, and you're basically discussing getting development, that you'd usually have to pay for, for free...
Thread closed, any further similar behaviour may result in action being taken against your accounts.
Be warned. We take quite a strong stance on this.

Maybe you guys shouldn't respond if you don't know what the program is. TheftAware is a 3rd party app that survives a flash and even a simcard change. It's a program that takes the administrative rights of your device to ensure that you get it back. Since it communicates thru SMS, it provides the number of whatever sim is inserted by texting it to a series of preferred contacts provided by you. You can set off a car alarm, disable the device and much, much more.
Here's a couple links for anybody who doesn't know what it is or hasn't actually read anything about it

Theft Aware is a great app. Been having it since my MT4G. It's great because if you swap out some cards, hard reset the phone, etc, you can still track down the phone and try to recover it. It has a greater value for phones that are rooted. Sometimes, just for fun, I send a text to my phone "lock on" and it start to say super loud " this phone is stolen or lost" and won't turn off unless I text it "lock off".

Ah, I missed in the OP where it mentioned an application or setting. It was such an in depth post. Congrats on deciphering it
I've been using it, I love how it gives more options for Root users. I haven't been unfortunate enough to have to use it, but it really gives me piece of mind.
Apparently you can activate GPS in the background, you can even silently call the phone and listen in. Taking remote camera shots would be AWESOME too, but I don't think it can do that (yet).
Plus, the app is German, so you know it's good.

Thanks, I'm aware that the app is available in English, I've purchased and am running the unlimited license.
I just meant that, because it's developed by Germans, you know it's good, like their cars. Great to hear the taking remote pictures is in dev.
Webremotecontrol & picture feature
the picturefeature is already in the new betaversion. Betatesters will soon be able to use the web remotecontrol interface.
If you want to join the betaprogram send your IMEI and username at forum.theftaware.com to support-at-itagents.at
Just purchased this app thanks to this thread, hopefully I'll never need tho
I nearly lost my phone at a concert last weekend when it was knocked out of my hands while video recording a song, took 15 minutes to find it in the sea of people since it was pitch black out. Now I'll feel alot better if this ever happens again!
Thanks!

[Q] program for ir blaster

I am in Greece and peel is not working with full specs. Can you suggest any other program for using my tablet as a remote with multiple tv's. i have 2 different tv's. (Samsung & LG)
this isn't any help to you, but i am also wondering this. Ha ha don't look at other country's with envy because that app is pretty terrible which is why I wonder if there are any alternatives.
If either of you had searched you would have found plenty of info in this very forum about the IR blaster on the tab2.
Shame on both of you.

shame on you for not bothering to spend a little effort and search for your answer. Asking others to do the simple leg work you could have done. THIS is why you get a snippy reply because in the time it took you to post and also reply back to a user you could have googled and xda searched.
i spent 10seconds and searched "ir remote app"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647605&highlight=ir+remote+app&page=2
there's your answer, now learn from this moment and understand not everyone in the world will go and get things for you, sometimes you have to do things for yourself.
We were all new at one point in time and XDA is huge and sometimes very difficult to navigate. A little guidance can go a long way in terms of respect and gratitude, especially from Senior Members.
guys, why so sensitive... let's be honest, it was an easy find. I'm a newbie too, and the first thing I found when I got my Tab 2, was Touchsquid. The Search feature is REALLY easy to access. And you can even search per-forum right away... now, nevermind the argument, click on that thread they gave you, it has lots of information about Touchsquid. Which is, by the way, a really cool app. A little unpolished in terms of interface and layout, but has a LOT of functions, compatibility, etc.
it's listing as $49 bucks here...seriously...$49 for a andriod app to use a ir sensor on our device.....hey, I'm not knocking them selling it for that, they did the work obviously...but why aren;t more developers doing it, if they can get that for it? People work their butts off making apps for like $1-$3/buy

Flipboard Air View feature

Just noticed that Flipboard uses the Air View option, in the home screen you can hover all over the topics and it gives you a preview of the articles, for me it's very cool, nice to see Samsung's features available on Third Parties apps.
And what you just had to make a stupid thread about it.....

I have always asked myself why on this great and other main forums, arrogant people that think themselves so above the rest, come to every thread to post a reply even more stupid than the one they critic.
This is first of all an informative forum, people come here to learn about their devices, so far I haven't seen anyone posting about it, so I came here to inform all of you about it, if you don't like it, just keep on moving, others may appreciate knowing about it.
That's all I have to say about your insult...
Unbelievable...
Good post, erasat.
The guy above just an idiot...I meant.. he was creating a thread on dropping the phone on concrete and was wondering about it.
Now that IS stupid!

All that dude does is go around posting pointless insults. And not in the "search first, noob" kind of way, but rather in the "I don't get enough attention and have to take out my lack of self esteem on internet forums" kind of way.
Best way to deal with people (and I use the term loosely) like that is to completely ignore them. Nothing pisses of someone trying to seem important or insulting than completely disregarding what they're saying. You can't reason with ignorance. But you can piss it off by ignoring it.

Actually some of these "gimmicky" features, as some people refer to them, need highlighted. So, thanks OP--:0
And yes a few here take every opportunity to bash someone, they are on every Forum I have been on from day one. Just best not to respond. Playing Devil's advocate though, I do sometimes respond to those who want the step by step answer with no research on their own. Main reason I don't like that is that they are doing themselves a disservice by not learning the how and why things are done the way they are in flashing roms. It will come back to haunt them.
I actually use a number of these features and they work very well. Except :eye" scrolling. Hopefully that will be improved and hope app devs and Goolge allow more programs to use these features.
There are too many negative comments on these features here and in reviews along with the screen issue to cause people to hesitate buying this phone. So, these goodies need highlighted in these threads from time to time. It is absolutely a fantastic phone. Functional and Fun at the same time--
Best I have ever owned. Not that I didn't love my Nexus One and HTC One S, but technology just keeps producing better products. And 5 inch is perfect screen size for me.
I agree, good post. I have been trying to figure out how to use air view but it just won't work for me (tried it on the gallery). What other apps work with it?

It will work on Flip Board and Stock Calendar. Do you have it selected in Options?
Can't recall what others atm
EDIT: Oh, works on speed dial--hover over number and contact comes up. don't have to memorize my speed dials now--
Also, by accident had it work on Music Player. If you hover over the lower Next and Previous symbols it will tell you next/previous song. These are when Music player is full screen with Album Art.

Can we do it?

Hi everyone, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place.
A friend and I are restoring an old car and am thinking of doing something different for the dash, we want to see if we can use a tab for the main display but also have it removable and use it as the key.
Before I go into too much detail, is it possible to get or create software that can read the sensors that come from the engine?

Of course, it is possible. All you have to do is use Arduino boards with Bluetooth adapter and link it to your tab. I would recommend you to google about android car robotics or about arduino boards. I'm really not sure about the entire mechanism but I've seen such implementations. Keep trying and you would find a solution. All the best. :good:
P.S. Kindly search forums related to your requirement. This forum doesn't seem to discuss such implementations.

Most of the xda users in here just refer the thread title then go through.. So, it's true that your title itself says *No Root hack WhatsApp in 15secs*, so most of em' thought this thread is about hacking blah blah.so, they gonna leave a reply like that and most of em' even report these types of threads.
Change the title m8.

Please indulge us. Which one of the Forum Rules did the user violate? @uralok You don't need to change anything for anyone. In fact, this is a hack but more in the lifehack sense instead of the programming sense.
It has security value as well, which does fit nicely in the XDA culture. I don't have any experience with this feature but if it is true that the mobile user is not made aware that a web user is watching along, that's a pretty big deal. Is that the case?

According to the video, you have to have access to the other person's device to use THEIR device to scan the code. Why not just open their app and see who they are chatting with? (OK maybe you are grabbing their phone while they go to the bathroom and you only have a few seconds...)
Not saying it can't be useful to someone but the title is sort of click bait?

No, not in XDA for hacking stuff. You can look at my post history. I try to help people with their phones or search for information on new phones.
XDA shows me new posts in certain categories (like Android Development), and this post came up. I looked at the video to see if anyone could "hack" my account and they can't -- unless they had my phone in their hands and knew my unlock code in the first place.
That would be my wife. So yes, she could "spy" on me, but that's not REALLY hacking, which is an overused word. Every tip or trick is not "hacking".
To me, it's not really hacking if you already have unlocked physical access to their device. It's more like just simple "spying".
More akin to the FBI physically placing a GPS tracking device under your car. The FBI did NOT "hack" your car. They are simply spying on you.
