Just saw in person. It does not protect the camera lens any better. It protects it exactly the same. The stock battery just has a "dip" effect surrounding the lens then curves up towards the lens leading it to be exactly the same protection as the sview cover. The sview cover has no "dips" and is just flat all around

The stock battery cover, even with the dip exposes the lens to touch first when laid on its back

How thick is this? Samsung site shows it at 11mm thick which is more than the s3 flip cover which is surprising since it is thinner

Just pre-ordered three, like I did for my GNex. One for the phone I have now, one for the phone I have on order as a spare (after selling the GNex), and a spare protector. ABSOLUTELY LOVED the Fantom on my GNex and had no problems whatsoever.
Very interesting concept. But what kind of protection can the phone gain from this protector?
The glass front is already scratch resistant. And if the phone drop, it's likely that both of the glasses will crack as it appears that the protective glass doesn't have the adhesive layer to hold the front glass together.
looks like a promising solution. btw any suggestion for liquid contamination? anything fantom-4/xgear can do for that?
Does the glass wrap around the slightly curved glass edges?
hope they make that clear spot for the notification LED a bit larger in the final product.
How do those things adhere to the screen underneath? It's reusable so probably not glue or sticky material
anyone know if its compatible with the bumper?!

I too would like to know this. I'm unable to tell from the description and photos. However, the photos make it appear to go over the glass where it curves down and I think it'd be terrible for it to leave a gap in there!

It actually is some sort of adhesive/glue. I had one for the Galaxy S III. I'm not sure what the adhesive is but if you got it a bit dirty, you could rinse it under water and let it dry and it would be sticky again. I removed mine and reapplied it just fine. The adhesive is under the black/white parts but not in the clear areas (i.e. on the actual screen itself).

It should definitely be compatible with the bumper. I have a bumper and the bumper in no way covers the glass screen, so you should be good here.

The idea is the same as a plastic screen protector (think Zagg, etc.) but you keep the glass feel. Some people (myself included) absolutely HATE wet-apply screen protectors and most of these modern phones with curved glass can't have full-screen dry-apply screen protectors, so this is the only way to have a screen protector cover the full screen without having the tackiness/stickiness that wet-apply screen protects result in. Ultimately, if you get a big ol' scratch across your screen, you'd much rather it be on this $30 protector than your phones actual screen. So a combination of scratch-protection + the "glass feel" is why you would buy this. Or if you want to have a white Nexus 4.
If, on the other hand, you like wet-apply screen protectors, then this probably isn't worth it for you.
So yeah just got my N4 today and was slightly disappointed when I realized that my N4 screen protector from BSE did not cover the entire screen. Im using the official bumper and would like a list of screen protectors that come right up to the bumper if anyone knows of one, thank you.
A lot of them will not because of the curved edges of the nexus 4, which will cause the protector to bubble up fast and start getting loose... 2c
Oh...do you know of any that go to the edge of the bumper or that come close?
The Skinomi I put on last night goes almost edge to edge. Any case will cover the rest of the gap. On the sides, it's probably 1 mm on each side. I don't know if you already know this trick, but to get the sides to stick down you have to wait a few minutes for the skin that is going to touch the screen to dry up a bit. It needs to become sticky in order to stay down. I wait another minute or two and keep trying to keep the edges down. Eventually the skin stays down on the curved edges. I lined up the top perfectly, and the bottom is a little over 1 mm from completely covering the front. The back is even a better fit, less than 1 mm missing from all four edges. Really great coverage. Now the sides, eh, it's a ***** to get the curved corners. I just ordered the stock bumper and will use that to protect the edges before they get more dinged.
That just my 2 cents. oh, btw, the Skinomi was very very little orange-peel look, and it's almost like a mirror. The best skin I've ever used so far (Xtreme Skin, Skinomi, and Zagg).

I got mine today and the front protector stops a little short of the curved edges. I also lined it up very close at the top which I would advise giving it a little room because mine didn't reach all the way down to the bottom. The back one fit really well and was a little difficult to line up because of how well it fits. Overall I like their protectors but they are a bit pricy for a single set but the quality is great.

Yeah they are a bit pricey. I bought mine off their ebay store , no tax or shipping. $13.99
I've read on their site that the front is cut a bit smaller due to the edge design of the n4 so it prevents from peeling or something.
I think another positive to that, is if you use a case... Because the screen protector is a bit short the case will not lift it because it doesn't touch it.

I recommend Xtremeguard. Goes edge to edge completely with a tiny 1mm gap at the top, has no orange peel effect if applied properly and left to dry and their customer service is amazing.

The Skinomi goes all the way to the edge (or almost). The problem here is that it's so close to the edge, my case just peeled it right off.

The Spigen on the other hand is cut short. It isn't just cut short horizontally (which I understand) but also cut short vertically as well. As stated above, a typical case (I have the Diztronic) covers around 1mm around the side. The SGP is cut short on the bottom by 1.5mm and 1mm on top. So while it's flush on the top, it's not flush on the bottom. You could minimize this by making it 1.2mm on both sides, but that's just too much work.
SGP Case: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157632671632748/
Skinomi Case: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157632205914659/
On the propped up picture of the Skinomi, you can see that it's pretty much flush with the end.

My experience reminds me how much I hate screen protectors and bare glass is always better... until it gets scratched.
Why did I spend $20+ on pieces of plastic :crying:
A had problems with the skinomi type screen protectors because of the curved edges. They would collect dust right at the edge and never stick. My trick is to apply all of the pieces, and then wrap the phone tightly in plastic wrap. Make sure to use a paper towel to blot the access moisture. After about an hour or two, the edges were down for good.and I could let it dry normally.
Overkill? Maybe, but it's worked well for me each time I had to install skinomi on a curved surface

Installing it is annoying though. The screen is very slippery so the protector will slide around alot when you're trying to like it up. Be sure to do it in the bathroom after a shower, so all the dust has settled and you're naked. Being naked is key to a perfect installation. Weird but true.

Being naked is not weird at all. I do that as well when I apply my screen protectors. Clothes most often carry a lot of dust, even clean clothes. So wearing them and with movement you can release a lot of dust back into the air. Although my girlfriend laughs at me every time I "hide" in the toilet for 20 mins performing the "perfect install".

Zagg shield secret!
I just got my official Nexus 4 bumper a few days ago, and I've had my Skinomi on for the past week. There is no way the bumper is going to peel it off. The bumper stays on my gripping the 4 corners and the top and bottom metal frame edge. There is almost no grip on the sides, but not that it matters, because the bumper is NOT coming off. I wish the Skinomi, or any skin for that matter, can reach the absolute edge.
http://www.gsmnation.com/blog/2013/06/05/htc-one-mini-leaked-images-show-4-3-inch-720p-screen/
What do you think from these photos? Plastic case or aluminium?
HTC spends a lot of time talking up the aluminum unibody in the full-size One. It'd be a shame if they threw that out with a smaller model.
no, the Mini has the plastic frame on the sides extended to the front, but the back is still metal as well as the speaker covers which fit inside the plastic frame now
so the back and the two front pieces are aluminium?
Yes with the sides being aluminum which run around the design meaning the top, bottom and sides are plastic.

This one is working rather well for me. It's a dry installation but it's not static cling. The material is kinda odd. Feels like a hybrid between static cling and the wet application ones. It's the best out now for the Note7 until a great static cling comes out. The only reason I wouldn't rate it very highly is because you can indent it with the included squeegee if you're not careful and if something gets stuck between it and your screen, you can't remove whatever it is. I used both films but second time was good enough.

here are some pics of them on my phone. as you see in the pics you cant tell that i have the screen protector on. it's that good. and it curves and sticks easy around the edge. i got a couple other screen protectors but they didnt play well will the cases i have. only the film ones work. and this one is not sticky, your fingers glides across it almost like glass. i have 2 glass ones and while they line up with holes and size, they dont fit with a case. the case pushes the corners of them up. the plesson case is pretty nice. it has cut outs of good size and the case hugs the phone good. it even has a little bit of a cut out on the side where the edge screen is so that you can interact with the edge screen much easier. the other cases i have go up a little too far on the edge screen imo.

Looks promising
I bought the icarez 2 pack. It was a b!tc4 to align put on. It literally took me over 30 minutes overall. There is still some small lint under but I did this at work on my desk. One side wouldn't stick and neither do the 4 corners so I used a heat gun to mold it into shape. I have to be careful when I put my case on as it will lift off if it pushes on it. So I have to start on 1 side (shown in 1 of the pictures) first then on the other side, pull the corners over the protectors so it doesn't push on them. Luckily my case is thin so I can stretch it out a bit.
The icarez covers a good portion of the sides so my case sits on top of the protector. Also you can see stylus marking on the protector. Visible when screen is off and viewing for an angle. But it's super clear and does not affect the clarity of the screen.
Sorry, I don't know if I put them in order but hopefully you can tell which has the case and which doesn't.

Any ideas or info on the camera glass on the back? I've noticed there's a slight "hump" in the back. So if I do not put a case or something is there anyway that I can damage the lens or the glass or the picture quality in general? I don't generally like using cases and tempered glasses for the back are yet to be in the market for this phone so I was wondering.

Yes it is possible. You could try to get some sort of lens protector on it if you are not a fan of cases. I would personally recommend a case. As of now afaik there are no lens protectors as such for the pixel 2.

It would be nice to have some kind of ring that can be pasted around the camera to add some bulk.
You only need to be careful with glass surfaces that might have a grain of sand.
Camera lense is not scratched but less harder things like a cutter etc.
The bad thing about the camera lense is that if you need to replace it you need to start by removing the screen. So it's the last part.
