A friend of mine has whatever model the SPH D700 is. I think it said Galaxy S when it booted up. Regardless, from a full charge the phone will only last about 2 hours. I checked the battery usage and "Android System" is hogging 83% of the battery usage. I googled it and the only answer I seemed to find was installing "Launcher Pro"
It didn't always have this problem and I would like to fix it for her. Installing a new home launcher doesn't seem very legit to me. I'm sorry I posted here, I couldn't find SPH D700 forum on my phone.
If someone could point me in the right direction, maybe send a few links my way, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
Edit: Phone is and always has been completely stock. No custom ROMs or root ever.

Mods please feel free to move this to its correct forum...
re-install your rom and i think after your problem go out
Like a factory reflash? Like I said in OP phone has never even been rooted- let alone any ROMs...
Can someone please link me to the correct forums on here? I seriously can't find them for the life of me. :what: Laptop is out for repair and I have to use my phone until I get it back. If someone just gives me the xda forum link for this specific device I will read the stickies/search and figure it out on my own. Thanks

I'm shinxsetsuna and I've been waiting patiently and diligently for firmware that would greatly help my tablet ....... I own a sanei n10 quad core tablet and it seems that development for this tablet is slowly dying ...... I'm not usually the kind of person to ask for help but I think this tablet definately needs it ....as far as I can tell this firmware is broken there seems to be so much wrong with it but considering the hardware even with the broken firmware this tablet is great..... my main concern is sorting out battery management I'm getting like 2 hours out of a 8000 mah battery..... getting bluetooth to work and clocking the tablet at what it should be ...... I've scoured the internet trying to find a fix...... some kind developer that might help us out or add to our tablet but I'm tired of waiting and am wondering if anyone can sort me out and point me in the right direction
Can anyone shed some light in my direction?

Try using Mickaaa's custom ROM based on Ampe 1.62b (http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/fre...[rom]-i-mx6-stock-rom-mod-3234.html#post29836)
I haven't tried this, but I have stock ROM 1.62b, and I've no issues about battery, sudden reboots, etc... I think 1.62b was the first firmware that solved battery drain, at least, mine lasts for more than 6 hours (although I usually turn on or off wi-fi depending on if I need to surf the Internet, or if I'm going to read books or doing something that doesn't need the use of wi-fi.

Hi,
I recently purchased a generic brand Android phone. General specs are; Android 4.1.1, Dual Core 1GHz, RAM 256MB.
I'm brand new to the smartphone thing, and Android 4.1.1 on a generic device isn't helping my experience. Lots of 3rd party apps have been factory installed on it to the point of choking the RAM and making it nearly impossible to run more than 1-2 apps simultaneously.
I need to root this phone, like, badly.
I searched XDA Forums diligently and tried several suggestions, but nothing worked. I searched plenty of other forums too, but haven't received any kind of satisfactory solution.
The saddest thing is, this phone doesn't seem to have a Recovery option. I've pressed and held the Vol - and Power buttons together, nothing. I've pressed both Volume + and - and the Power buttons together, nothing. I've pressed all 3 buttons plus the Menu button, nothing. I even tried begging it. Nothing.
This phone doesn't have any USB drivers, so that I can use an Android SDK and the SuperUser app to root it.
I'm crazed beyond the point of recovery, because I seem to have purchased an Android that can't do anything it's meant to do.
This is the device description on the company's website;
gphonebd.com/index.php?action=product_details&no=114
Some internal hardware and software details;
Phone Name: G'phone
Model Number: D16-Eye
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: MTK6517 (Dual Core)
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #3
Software Version: G'phone-D16-Eye_D8_V1.2-20130424
Hardware Version: 1.1.0
Please help in finding a solution, anybody! :crying:
Thanks in advance, to whoever responds.....
Have you tried framaroot? I honestly don't think it'll work, but it's worth a shot.
Worse case, it'll tell you none of the exploits work, so you'll have to uninstall.

Thanks for your reply. Since posting my original thread, my phone has now gone on the blink. I connected my phone to my laptop via USB to transfer some photos and BANG! The screen goes white and shuts down. I tried rebooting, but the OS isn't loading anymore. I tried Recovery Mode, but it seems there isn't any recovery software installed in this thing.
I'm desperately searching for a solution to this, now......

YOu are gonna be hard pressed to find anything, and to be honest your gonna have trouble no matter what you do. Your device doesnt even meet the min requirments to run android. So it will lag and be barely usable.

Yeah, I know. But believe me, I've seen phones with much lower specs, RAM, Clock speed and so forth, comfortably run Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). I guess the manufacturers of this phone shouldn't have put Jelly Bean on a device with these specs. I tried searching on the Forums here if there were minimum hardware requirements to run Jelly Bean, but haven't found anything informative enough.
Can you tell me, if you know, the minimum hardware requirements to run Jelly Bean 4.1.1? It would be a big help and guide for me, because I plan to replace the phone I currently own. I'll have to get it replaced from the dealers first (it's still under the device warranty) and once that's done, I'll put it up for sale. Then, I'll probably hunt around for a better phone. That's why it'd be a big help if you could give me a guide on minimum hardware requirements to run Jelly Bean.
Also, if it's not much trouble, could you tell me which would be better to run, Android 4.1.1 or Windows Phone 8? I mean, if you consider everything, such as prices, device range, apps, usability and durability.
Thanks so much for responding to my questions!
For the most part it is ok but if you search google for the requirments you will see that anything above GB needs a min of 512 mb of ram and then it still lags all over the place.
I am a developer at heart so Android is my choice but with all things considered I would look at windows phone. It is a good set of devices and is very easy to use.

Thanks so much for the reply! I guess for a smartphone noob like me, I'm probably much better off using Windows Phone. Android is way too complicated for me, I guess....
One final question, please. D'you think I should go for a Lumia device or one of those HTC's running Windows Phone 8? Is there one or two that you can recommend? Thanks again!

I heard the Lumia is a good device but IF i was to get a WP I would get an HTC as they have proven themselves to me over the years. I really cant say which one is better as I have never looked at a WP device.
Sorry am new to this forum, a friend of mine told me to go here and ask some pros about my phone.
My phone is cherry mobile life (Rooted) and have a custom ROM of Cyanogen (forgot the version).
When I woke up I just found my phone lying on the floor and the screen is black and the battery was out (am sure it dropped cause I was still using it and put it beside me before I went to sleep). When I try to turn on my phone it doesn't show any life or something, tried to charge it but still doesn't show any life. Can somebody help me out here?
Thank you so much in advance.
