So my 14 month old got ahold of my phone today and he found something odd. Apparently if you press Android Version multiple times you get a jellybean on the screen. If you long press mentioned bean it bursts into multiple. Not sure why they integrated this, but I thought I would share.

It's called an Easter Egg - and every ANdroid Device (or nearly every one) has it - what you see depends on the android version. If you had an android before - if you let you child play with the phone, you might have found out earlier - lol
Haha. Was just reading about it. Now I'm embarrassed.

Mine was when I was at a former classmates birthday party and then I noticed my phone didnt detect my SIM card, I had to be the center of attraction on the party removing my phones back and taking out the battery, then the SIM card, then putting them back in. When it rebooted, Im glad it re-detected my SIM card. That was totally embarrassing.

Mine was at the time when I was beta testing a new rom...
I had to meet up my school friends...
The rom was working well...till one of my friends switched on wifi bt gps, all one after the other *JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT*
And bam! Force closes everywhere...graphic glitches, weird vibration patterns!
My friend thought he had screwed my phone...
And I had to flash a new rom in front of everyone, when all of us were supposed to enjoy...
And I lost a few apps+contacts+msgs since my backup wasn't updated...
Typed using a small touchscreen
When i first started using cynogen mod 7 and didn't read the buglist. I was supose to meet a girl somewhere and needed gps but that was a cm7 bug.. It would work and get a location when it wanted to after a few reboots sometimes it worked.. I never made it to see her but i had to flash a nightly rom to get gps to work.. So i was sad twice that night lol.

I hated that, i started locking my phone after someone overclocked my cpu to the max.

I flashed the GPS fix for the HD2 right before I went to school and give the phone to my girlfriend. Apparently, that fix caused reboots every minute. She hated the phone because it rebooted in class constantly. I wiped the ROM and reflashed and it fixed it. Lucky me lol

Another was when my phone suddenly started lagging in front of my friends.

I am so glad, that most of my friends dont know or are afraid of flashing. As a result, they dont know there are such options as overclocking and other things that can screw your phone.
my was when I was in school and was trying the dual boot kernel in my new s2 and it didn't boot up.......although I bought it 2 hours ago....LOL

Mine was just a couple of days ago. Wanted to show someone at work how awesome the rom was on my phone, and at that very moment it wanted to glitch, so it made me look like an idiot.
And, anytime I talk roms and rooting to my friends they look at me like I'm an idiot.
Mine still happens I just finished year 11 in the UK basically high school and my friends of course still want to keep in touch and since I'm always flashing ROMs, they are always like why don't you text or call back and I'm like I have checked my call history and my text messages it is all clear here, they think I am ignoring them.

I've looked around here and haven't seen an issue similar to what's going on with mine.
It's happened a few times now, where the phone just randomly starts to vibrate, for ~5 seconds. No notifications, not even touching the phone. It just randomly vibrates. My last One X I swapped out on Friday due to some sound issues, that one never did this strange vibrate. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time it's done this in just as many days.
Has anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks.

I've had the same problem, I just chalk it up to a ghost playing on my phone, since I have no other explainations
It's a bug in android 4.04.

Ok, thanks. I still find it weird that my first one didn't do that in the two weeks or so that I had it. Maybe I'll try exchanging it a second time and get lucky with a 1.85
It happens so randomly and rarely that you probably got lucky.

Ok, thank you for the quick replies. I appreciate it.
Mine has done it twice now as well. Recently upgraded to 2.20, so Im gonna go with gunny on this one.
Edit LMAO!! No joke as a matter of fact, mine did it again as soon as I hit submit on this post. Scared the crap out of me. Almost dropped the durn phone

Yeah mine has done it several times too haha, usually when I press the back button. I thought it could be an issue with my phone because it has a really weak vibrate when I press the buttons, but since I didn't notice it on
4.0.3 I'll go with 4.0.4 glitch..
Sent from my HTC One X
If your under 30 days, on 2.20 locked i would make them exchange for older firmware device or your going to return it and go elsewhere to get one with the less buggy 1.85 firmware. If u want to unlock, why wouldnt you.
Mine literally hadn't done it until I opened this thread..irony..

I only see it in forum runner.
Add me to the list as well running Clean ROM 4.5 DE happened first with the Xda app then at other times when using the back button about 5 times now.

I see this issue. But only with the back button and only in the XDA app. I am running Venom. It happens several times a day for me, and it stays vibrating until I push another button.
Anyone find any tricks to fix this?

I have had my S3 for about two months now and it has been rooted the whole time. The stock ROM finally annoyed me enough to try a new ROM. I installed Rootbox then Pacman, but they both just sat on the boot screen for about 10 minutes before I pulled the battery and gave up. I tried installing MIUI which went well but as soon as I hit the 'restart' button, the screen went blank and now the phone won't turn on. The battery is fine, I tried the known good one out of my wife's S3.
Is there any hope here? Any chance I will be able to get it swapped out at Verizon? Am I just f'ed?
Just for the record because I know it will be asked: I am have installed many ROMs on my old Droid X and I did follow directions for these installs. MIUI even had the wizard. I do have a nandroid but since I cannot turn the phone on at all, I can't get to it. I cannot get to download mode or react when I plug the charger in. I can't even get the thing to vibrate when holding down the power button...as far as I can tell it is COMPLETELY dead.
Thanks for the input.
Pull the battery and try again. If that doesn't work plug it in and see if it charges.

i fried a gsiii and got a replacement frpm big red. just tell them the OTA did it. if it can't turn on they can't check what you've done until it's too late. bring it in asap and have a sob story about how the update destroyed your phone... it worked 2 days after the jelly bean update for me.

Does the screen flash for a second or respond for any amount of time when you try charging it with or without the battery? Our is there no response at all when you're trying to charge it,?

No problem. They will give you a replacement as long as there is no physical damage to the phone... Good luck!!

As you have figured out, they have got rid of the screen-on time with the JB OTA.
However, you can see it with Wakelock Detector, an awesome app.
Instaled wd, yes it shows the screen. I've seen people posting screenshots, so i thought maybe it was removed by operator or something coz mine is orange uk branded. Also i didn't see any posts on xda about 3.16.61.10, and no ruu with it, i thought it was something strange..

I had no issues with my HTC Evo LTE being rooted and depositing checks with the Bank of America mobile app. My galaxy 5 has pretty much been rooted since they day I got it back in May and I haven't been able to get deposits to work. The bank's mobile team reached out to help me but once they learned the device was rooted they threw their hands up and said they couldn't troubleshoot the phone because being rooted and having developer options turned on interferes with the way the app works. Has anyone ever heard of this? The app works fine other than when I take a pic of the front and back of my checks and go to deposit it keeps saying to center check in all four corners...
Ahh, so that's why I wasn't able to deposit a check lol. Did you try turning off the developer options, then trying?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
No I didn't and I actually found out it has nothing to do at all with being rooted. I figured they were using that as a cop out anyways...
It boils down to their app not being calibrated correctly for the phone. If I hold the phone 2 feet away from the check then it'll work. They've updated the app about 3 times since this phone came out and I think 1 or 2 of those were supposed to be patched to fix the new phone issues. Evidently they still don't have it sorted yet.

Go into settings and toggle developer options off and reboot. After I did this, my check was deposited on the first try. When you are done you can enable developer options again.
