Basically stuck with CyanogenMod 10 nightly - General Questions and Answers

I doubt anyone has had a problem like this before, I think I'm in a real pickle (forum is censored), so brace yourself:
Phone: Optimus L7 P705
Firmware(that's what's called, right?): V20 (official update for jellybean)
I installed CM 10 today, and it was great, but I decided to uninstall it after 5 minutes of ''fun'' since some major features were missing like the ability to make calls (no signal) and the ability to listen to music with headphones (they won't work). Now I tried to look for fixes for it, but nothing worked, so I decided to get rid of it
Now this is where it gets REALLY INTERESTING: I have tried to flash ROMS with the KDZ updater, it gave me an error with 3 different KDZ files, I have also tried installing another ROM from the recovery mode, but it just gives me an ''install aborted'' error right after I start the install. I have made sure that all my settings were right and tried several times, I tried re-installing CM but nothing seems to work....
My phone is now as useless and basic as an iPhone....(Well okay, not THAT bad) but I need a solution urgently, so your help would be very appreciated.
Edit: RESOLVED, if you found this topic and want to know how I solved the issue, check the last post.

Flash v10k(i think this would work) with the kdz thing. It should have everything working. Make a backup of the v10k then full wipe data cache and dalvik. At this point go into recovery mode and install zip from sd card: cm10 and gapps for jelly bean.
A friend of mine did this and worked
Sent from Area 51 using my HTC Sensation XE, hit thanks if I helped

Thank you for the reply, but as I had already explained, the KDZ Update Tool does not work for me, I have tried 3 different KDZ files including the v10k
Edit: Issue fixed, I downloaded the v10 baseband zip file and installed it with clockworkmod.

[GUIDE] UPDATING TO MARCH 2012 Baseband[LG Update] [Win7]

Hey guys,
Like many T-Mobile G2x users i got seriously fed up with the poor gps K on the phone. When i first got my phone, after i rooted it I tried many of the roms here on the development forum but none of them could fix the gps locking issue. IN the past few days, the phone could not even "view" satellites at all. I was running the JUL 2011 baseband at the time. However after digging around, I went ahead and updated from the LG website with their update software. now my current baseband is M6600A-SCAUTNZ-2.0.9720T 1 [MAR 11 2012 10:00:00] MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R-MDM and gps functionality comletely came back. I have a lock under 1 min, the phone still works for calls/text, and data still works.
I ran this process on a computer with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. After the LG update completes it will revert the phone to stock recovery.
Here is a step by step of what I did. Please read everything first before doing the steps.
1. Use TGA_Gunman's guide to restoring a stock Nandroid OS that is unrooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274
A Stock ROM (v21e, v10f, or possibly others) is required for the "LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL" to work. Either from a personal backup or downloaded. Recovery version doesn't matter, but suggested to have latest CWM to make Nandroid backups & restores easier.
2. (optional) After you boot into the system link your google accounts, just as you would when opening a phone for the first time.
3.Visit LG's Website and download the T-Mobile LG G2x software update tool.
http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-P999 (click on the software update tab and follow the 4 steps)
4.After installing LG Update software on your computer, run it, and follow the steps it tells you exactly.
5.Have PATIENCE! This will take around 15 min. and patience is the key. Let it sit there and do it's thing. Make sure your computer doesn't turn off or go into standby during the process and don't disconnect your USB cable until the installer is at its last step and its tells you it's done with the update.
6. Enjoy your functional gps!
P.S.: Thanks to everyone for the helpful feedback and tips to making this guide better!
If you are looking to downgrade your baseband or have unknown baseband error check out xBkKx's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680292
EDIT 06/2/2012:
The CM7 RC3 update has been verified that it will work with the new March 2012 baseband. If you wish to update to the rc3, apply a "dirty flash" of the 27th nightly update after it (this resolves the gps locking time back to a couple of seconds again).

Why wouldn't you have calling/data after updating only calling issue is people not wanting to stay stock with this baseband.
You don't have to be on that nandroid or link your Google account prior to the update.. I restored my rooted stock nandroid downloaded drivers, installed lg tool and it updated fine as I just walked away and came back to it sitting in home screen with new baseband

When i said calling/data still works i was referring to what some other people in the forums had said that they couldn't get a signal after updating baseband. I, however, did not find anything about using LGs update tool on windows 7. All the topics that came up were about procedures on doing it with windows xp only.
If this way works with the other nandroid versions that thats great news . However, when i was on the July 2011 baseband and I loaded one of the other stock nandroid versions the earpiece and microphone were not working at all. I could place/receive calls but the other person could not hear me nor could i hear them. when I loaded the v10f stock this problem did not come up, so just to be safe I recommend using that one.
Also you said there's calling issues for people that want to use other roms with this baseband? Does that mean I can't load up one of the recent EB ICs roms, etc with this baseband version?
call audio doesnt work with newest baseband and modded roms (tother than kwes's and buru's, both of which are based on V21Y). it just clicks and pops unless you are on wifi calling. basically devs need to start basing their ENTIRE rom on this baseband if they want call audio to work.

actually now the 27th CM nightly update and the CM7 rc3 update have fixed the in call audio problem. im running this update with the new baseband on my phone and everything is working fine. the only thing that doesnt work yet are the old ROMs .hopefully devs do something about that
I also updated from rooted stock (xboarders 2.3.3). I didn't go back to stock recovery. I just ran the LG updater (already had drivers installed), plugged in the phone, hit the update button, and let it do it's thing. It took about 20 minutes
I'm confused about all of the confusion.
XDA Mobile
Hi all,
I did the above procedure, and did the restore from the "LG-P999-V10f" image.
On reboot, the phone comes up and shows the stock "LG" boot up screen.
The scrolly thing goes across for a bit, and then *stops*!
At this point, it is locked up, it won't boot any further up, and when I attempt to use the LG Updater tool, it does see the phone, and says "Phone connected", but the 2nd part of it when checking the phone communication, it fails with "Problem with communication between the cell phone and PC".
So I am stuck...
(Hopefully not bricked?)
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Scott
I figured it out, after some minor panic!
The problem was, my ClockWork Mod Recovery bootloader version on the phone was too old!
I used a factory ROM image that was taken from a newer version, and it included some (.tar's I think) file types that weren't supported on the old version of the Recovery.
Thus, I burned an incomplete version of the stock firmware to the phone!!!
(Which is why it was stuck at boot!)
I was able to "One Touch Recovery" with a newer version of Clockwork Mod, slap my Backup of my CM in place, and get back to where I started.
And as part of the "One Touch Recovery", it updated my boot loader to a newer version, and so now the loading of the factory ROM image worked.
I then just ran the LG Updater software after going back to the factory ROM Image, and indeed, it finally works as expected!
Scott
Glad to hear that it worked Scott! And thanks for the feedback, i have updated step 1 to say you need latest version of clockwork recovery
It looks like LG may have taken the update file down, or for whatever other reason, the software update tab is blank. Could someone put up a link to the update file?
@sigmabeta: I noticed during a particularly slow page refresh that the links for the usb driver showed up briefly as the page loaded, then disappeared. I managed to stop the page from loading completely and got the 4 steps listed (under manuals, of all places) one of the links was the update tool, here is the link:
h-t-t-p://csmg[dot]lgmobile[dot]com:9002/clientapp/B2CAppSetup.exe
I downloaded it successfully from there. Enjoy!
(sorry I'm new and it won't let me post links yet)
LG update tool won't update
I managed to download it from LGs site, but despite flashing the v10f rom onto my phone, the update tool says software version is 11f (even tho the phone info shows 10f) and that it is up to date, and won't let me perform the update. Baseband is still Jun 2011. Any ideas, or a link to the version of the setup tool you used?

hmm. im not sure about this one. try this: reboot into clockwork recovery mod and do factory reset . after clear your cache, then clear your dalvik cache. then install the v10f from the restore menu in clockwork mod . after restart, set up your phone as you would do for first time (link google account to it) and then plug it in to your computer and run the LG update tool. thats what i did and it worked for me
also you said version v11f? you must have not flashed the restore correctly. do the above.
The first time I flashed it, I followed the instructions, which said to factory reset AFTER the flash, but I did think of what you suggested and tried it again, factory resetting, clearing cache and dalvik twice before restoring, but the tool is still saying the SW version is 11f. If I go to Customer Support -> Update history, it shows SW v21e (even after reading phone info). Phone info SW ver says LG-P999-V10f. Weird. Should I factory reset/cache/dalvik _after_ flashing the v10f rom as well? i'll re-download it again and try in the morning. what version of the LG updater tool do you have? mine is v1.5.7.0. many thanks for your help.

yes. you should do a complete factory reset even after installing the v10f rom. this is detailed on the original post on how to flash back to stock rom in TGA_Gunmans post.
I just noticed too that it reverted back to froyo (v2.2.2) and not GB, could this be part of the problem? should the stock be 2.3?
just to clarify your last reply re factory reset after v10f flash - should i clear dalvik as well?
yes it should revert back to froyo. and yes reset the dalvik cache too
Have you tried the V21E? I just flashed back to my Jul baseband and restored my 2.3.3/V21E nandroid and the updater found the 2.3.4 release instantly for my phone

yes you could try the 21e. however for me, that version always failed to download from the website gunman uses to host those files so i used the v10f inatead. much faster download.
btw how do you revert back to a previous baseband?
I just Googled how to do it using like 6 different guides :/ I edited my thread on iso help on it with what worked for me if you want to try it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680292

Another bootloop issue

I have an HTC One S, rooted and unlocked. I downloaded CM10, attempted to update to it, yes without wiping(my fail) and sent the phone into a bootloop. In my attempts to fix I lost the ability mount the SDCard.
I did this to fix the SDCard and it worked - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459&page=12
I have tried to do the RUU update to bring it back to stock but it failed with error 171, USB Connectivity lost so I abandoned that idea. I did play with drivers, HTC Sync, reinstalls and registry cleanups all to no avail. This is the process I wanted to follow but no luck.....http://www.htconeforum.com/forum/ht...e-your-htc-one-s-back-100-stock-relocked.html
When updating with CM10 it installed VERY quick, like 20ish seconds. This seemed very fast so I thought maybe a different ROM would work and I went with Dark Jelly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1848100
No matter what I do I am stuck in the bootloop. Looking for any guidance available of things to try. I have searched all over and tried the solutions that make sense but to no avail.
Fixed
So I did this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33857020&postcount=2181
delete that file and it booted right up. Have not looked at the Dark Jelly rom to see fi it has that file too but that may have been the issue with the other ROM as well.
Summary - CM10 contains that file that needs to be deleted before upgrading if you have hboot of low versions...I know, not very descriptive but its all in my posts above.
nvm, you got it.

[Q] How to get new language!

Hi guys!
Recently i buy this Photon Q 4G LTE Sprint to my wife's birthday.
It's a wonderfull device with a nice hardware, but the best is the external keyboard (She likes it, because his old device was Motorola dextr, and she was used to), but we're from brazil and my first difficulty was to find a rom that support drivers without bugs.
So here i was: My first try was MIUI. I unlocked my bootloader, rooted and installed TRWP. Didi Backup, formated and installed MIUI, :good:
First i tryed with Kernell the UFO developed for it, and the device don't boot. After i tryed just the rom, but it has no modem or wifi. So i flashed up the stock rom modem img and worked fine.
But apks like "retrica" doesn't work with it, bringing black photos and others apks made for instragram. I love this rom and i have installed in my Xperia Play. It works perfect, but in this device have a lot of bugs, so i give up.
I know how to use it with bugs, but not my wife. Then i had to try another one.
I downloaded Cyanogenmod CM10.1, CM10.2, CM11 nightly, snapshot. Then after try all "Xt897" roms, i tryed all "moto_msm8960".
I can't get in any of this roms make my wifi or 3G work. I believe that modem is not compatible. Even if i tryed to flashed stock modem after, i still had no signal at all. No IMEI, no MAC Address, nothing. :crying:
This device have few alternative roms, so i decided try to translate the rom with less bugs at all. I picked up the stock rom JellyBeans 4.1.2, but this was my second failure. A language patch is something that you don't find in market, and to disassembly entire rom and work in a translate is something beyond my knowledges.
So i have an answer to someone that know how to do a fix patch to wifi in cyanogenmod(Specific "cm-11-20140518-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip" ), or someone good in translate rom, or input a language in stocked rom, like The Solutor did in " [Full ICS ROM] Multilanguage/Toggle2g /STK/Tethering" (but the rom he used was 4.0.4 and it have bugs).
I will be grateful for any help. :fingers-crossed:
Hmm, what's the language you want (CM11 already have lots of them - not in the list?), and what WiFi/3G problem are you having? And you also failed to RSD the phone back to stock?
My recommendation is you first sort the RSD thing out and get the phone back to stock 4.1.2, and flash everything from that onwards. Assuming that you don't do anything wrong in the process, you should have no quirks with WiFi/3G.
Sent from Google Nexus 4 @ CM11
Try MoreLocale2 for the stock ROM language issues.
As for the CM issues... I agree with Andy, if it works in stock form, it "should" work on CM - at least that has been my experience.
You are clean wiping / factory resetting before or after flashing CM yes? I see you have done this step for MIUI, so I am thinking that you have already done this step...
If you have, can you provide logs from CM if the wiping/RSD'ing doesn't work?
Thx for help guys...
AndyYan - The language i need is Portuguese(Brasil) and it has on CM 11 and MIUI.
I did it as you said. I downloaded stock from here:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=3
Rom version: Android 4.1.2 - Blur_Version.98.10.5.XT897.Sprint.en.US)
And flashed by RSD.
Everything ok till here. No errors, nothing wrong. Wifi working as well, and the network.
My MIUI was taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444449 (GSM one).
Cool rom, it has wifi and network, but camera bugs with some apks. For me ok, but not for my wife. So this rom was discarded.
CM i dwonloaded from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=moto_msm8960
The last one was: cm-11-20140521-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip (i tryed all of then "XT897" and "moto_msm8960", but none of them could get my network working. No wifi, no IMEI, no MAC, no wifi).
CM was my hope, because it has my language, but in all tries i did the wipe in cache, dalvik, system, factory, even internal memory, before installing, and cache or dalvik after flash. I tried this in all (tried not wiping too) and still has no modem.
After this, just for try, i flashed stock modem "NON-HLOS.bin". Still got no modem in any CM roms.
arrrghhh - i did try "MoreLocale2" for the stock rom, and "Set Locale and Language" (and more). This softwares did a nice job for keyboards and apks, but system stays intact in english. It need to be a real translation for my wife.
My guess is that this issue can be easily solved.
If all JB roms have the same system(at least for "moto_msm8960" processor kind ).
This ROM is generic for Motorola Atrix HD, Electrify M, Photon Q, RAZR HD, and RAZR M right?
Razr HD is a type of phone that came to my country.
Is it possible compile a system from Brasil career stock, for this phone with modem and anything else from my stock rom? Does it will crash my phone?
Please provide logs from the latest build of CM after booting and attempting to engage/connect to wifi.
Logs??
Sotty about my doubt, but i don't know what kind of logs do you want(i'm not used to).
Logs from TWRP in instalation?
This is easy. Installation was made with no errors and succesfully.
Does CM made logs itself??
If does, i dont know how to get them. Please send me a link.

CM does create logs. If you're not familiar with them, the easiest way is to use an app from the Play Store... which I'm not sure how you will manage without wifi or mobile data, and I assume you are not familiar with adb.
I can go thru the detail, but it's a bit involved. Perhaps this thread will help you?
Once you know how adb works, there's actually an easier method than using adb logcat to output to a file - there are logs stored in '/data/logger'. So:
Code:
adb root
So you can have the permissions to pull the files, then pull them:
Code:
adb pull /data/logger
Will pull all of the log files to wherever your command prompt is. If you 'cd' (change directory) to your desktop, doing the adb pull will send all the log files to your desktop.
Let me know if you have any questions, good luck.
Logs from Adb
Yeap! I'm familiar with ADB!!
(i'm not expert in it, but i already did something with that...)
I don't know exactly what are you lookin for, so i did two logs.
First a complete boot:
Code:
adb reboot system
adb logcat -v long > boot_log.txt
And one for especific modem log from boot
Code:
adb reboot system
adb logcat WifiStateMachine:E *:S -v long > just_wifi_error.txt
(I believe this this won't help u a lot?!)
The first one is the most complete solution for this and have all the boot infos, errors and other things.
If am i wrong please say the correct command to use.
I forgot something...
In filemanager i can't access internal storage.
It shows /storage/emulated/0, and points to nothing.
If i'm right, this was a well know bug on CM 10.2, which supposedly been fixed in CM 11 right?!
I think that information can help to solve this bug...
Please try the adb pull command I sent... Those logs are not very helpful, and quite difficult to read.
However, I have a feeling if you use RSD Lite to flash everything back stock, confirm it works, then start with the latest CM, I'd be curious if it works.
Also, someone mentioned they needed to install the CM10.2 snapshot before going to CM11 - or else BT and wifi did not work.
Eureca...
That is something that i didn't tried! I'd never flashed CM 10 in first!!!
I'm downloading "cm-10.2-20131102-SNAPSHOT-M1-xt897.zip ".
Fisrt i'll flash stock "Blur_Version.98.10.5.XT897.Sprint.en.US" with RSD.
Then fastboot "logo.bin" (to avoid warning unlocked), and TRWP(my stock have a original recovery that can't install CM. I can edit XML, but to cleanse my conscience i'll let this way).
After i'll install "cm-10.2-20131102-SNAPSHOT-M1-xt897.zip" with TRWP and boot with this one.
Then i'll flash "cm-11-20140526-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip ".
But i'll have to do this at night(it's 12pm here), because i'm working today.
If that don't work i'll pull the log that you said here, but I come back to thank.
Same problem
I confess I was hopeful in that case you said to flash first the CM 10.2.
But again failed. I tried two ways:
In both I tried to install the Snapshot CM 10.2, then the CM 11.
There is no way that cell boot with "CM 10.2" in any case. That saty on boot animation for several time(i waited 30 minutos each).
In the first I downgraded to version 4.0.4 stock to see if the modem worked.
After that i flashed CM 10.2 that stood in boot animation, then CM 11 booted without modem signal (no wi-fi, no signal).
I taked the log for that version (attachment named log_4.0.4.7z)
On the second attempt, I used the default stock 4.1.2.
After CM 10.2 which was stucked on boot animation again, then CM 11 again booted without modem signal (no wi-fi, no signal).
I taked the log for that version (attachment named log_4.1.2.7z)
Strange thing happened on both CM 11 boot. When the system's load, it shows a message "The clock stopped". This is strange thing for me.
Can you wait for CM10.2 to boot...? There is a fsck process which sometimes takes quite a long time to boot.
Also, for your FC issue - you are clean flashing the ROM everytime? You are doing a factory reset everytime you flash a new ROM?
Edit - looking at your logs, I don't think the fsck is the issue... something is causing the CM10.2 boot to die over and over. Please try clean flashing...
I clean everything before.
Yeap. What do you call a clean flashing?
Everytime i flash some ROM, i do factory reset, clean cache and dalvik.
The ROM is flashed on a clean state of the stock one. Is this the clean you are talking about?
CM was taken about 30 minutes to boot, and yet don't load system.
This is why i stop that and flash CM 11 over it.
Is this time bigger than that? How long your cell take to boot this CM 10.2?

Yes, factory reset == clean flash.
As for the long boot, I'm not sure the fsck is your issue - basically there is a process which runs a disk check, and sometimes this will make the boot take quite longer than usual. I can't say how long, I've never personally experienced the issue.
However, the fact that CM10.2 isn't booting is a little disturbing. I've heard some people report 45-60 mins... can you do me a favor, charge up the phone, and try to let it boot for at least 90 minutes?
If at the 90min mark it still hasn't booted, pull logs and post them.
Thanks.
The logs contain references to apps that are present only in stock firmware.
That means the CM boot is actually not happening in a clean environment (the data wipe/factory reset in TWRP hasn't worked as it should?).
Please try to use OpenRecovery 2.09 instead of TWRP (as OR is the recovery I personally use and watch for possible bugs) to wipe the device and to install CM11 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211579&page=10
When installing CM in recovery, you will probably also want to install the gapps package - http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
Btw., CM11 expects the baseband (modem) and other partitions the be at the 4.1.2 stock level. Experiments with 4.0.4 are useless.
Please post the logs from CM11 boot.
You will need to enable the logger under CM11 by
Code:
su
setprop persist.log.aplogd.enable 1
in Terminal app or ADB shell, it's not enabled on CM11 by default.

Hi... My TRWP version is "openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-asanti_c.img".
Something is not ok with this one. Sometimes this one format the cache, sometimes not.
I have to do it a lot of times and when i try to format data partition, this just reload the TWRP.
I want to install this one that you said, but those links in the post you sent are broken.
Can you please send me another one?

I'm on an older version of TWRP, and it has never failed me... that's a shame really. I'll try to update and see what's what. In the meantime, flash OpenRecovery I linked above ^^.

TWRP 2.6.3.x should also work properly.
@arrrghhh, so you see it's not just me having the "wiping /data reboots the recovery" problem... I've already sold my PQ (might buy a new one in the future), but please do help let this problem be known to whoever's developing TWRP for us

I can't believe it works
Unbelievable!
This very simple solution worked for me.
My TRWP did not work right.
He said he had done successfully in cleaning the cache and manufactures, but did not.
I downloaded the link you guys sent me and it worked on the first try.
Not needed before installing CM 10.2. Already installed in the first CM 11, has worked with modem and everything. Now I can configure the GSM network my country and language of the country for my wife (PR-BR).
I want to thank the efforts of user @ AndyYan to respond, the attention given by the user @ Arrrghhh teaching me with patience, and the solution given by the user @ kabaldan. :victory:
You are awesome for this forum. Thanks for everything.
If you still want the log I get, but I think with everything working, you guys should already know the outcome.

[Q] Cyanogen Did Not Work No Service

Hey Everybody
I'm new to the whole rooting process, which I did fine on Saturday the 4th of October 2014. Today (October 8th 2014) I tried to install Cyanogen using the installer, it said it worked, but when my phone rebooted it was in the original version of touchwhiz that came with my Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 Rogers version. I wanted to get my files back, so I went into CWM and tried to recover, which didn't work. I tried again and again and it finally loaded my apps, but I had no service and I was spammed with "failure to load .gapps.google" or something like that. I went into CWM and wiped cache, tried again, same issue. I then wiped everything, went back into it and it still was NOT working. What do I do? I have no service at all! I've tried pulling the SIM and putting it back, but no success. Please HELP!
EDIT: I flashed stock ROM using ODIN, which worked. I would still like to know why CWM didn't work though, and if it is still possible to try to get it to work

Anybody?
I'm a beginner myself, and i do not know much about installing custom roms on samsung phones, but maybe you did not flash a compatible custom kernel to support the custom rom? it seems like you did not flash gapps either, but that should not stop you from getting network service. my last guess would be that you need to also install a baseband perhaps. all this information should be there in the galaxy s3 section of the forums.

Hey there, first off, thank you for replying.
I didn't manually use odin or other flashing software to flash the ROM. Unlike the rooting method (which went smoothly) I used the cyanogen mod installer. The installer itself said that cyanogen was installed successfully, but it was not. After it said this, my screen (on the phone) turned off, and I was brought to a fresh install of touchwhiz. I've actually fixed the networking issue by flashing touchwhiz stock, but that still doesn't explain why my CWM backup wasn't working.
I see...I haven't used the cyanogen mod installer myself so cannot say...
What I suggest is that, if you're up for trying again, to manually flash a rom - either Cyanogenmod or any other. There seem to be a lot of good roms available for your phone, and whichever rom you choose will come with instructions for how to install. The usual method will involve the following steps as far as I know:
- Root
- Unlock Bootloader
- Flash Custom Kernel with recovery
- Flash ROM
- Flash GAPPS
These steps are not difficult at all as long as you follow the instructions for your specific phone. I have a Sony Xperia SL and thats how I installed a custom rom on it many times. Sorry I could not help much not knowing Samsung procedures but good luck!

OK,
Download stock ROM for your device from Samsung-updates.com according to device model and region.
Then flash it with Odin.
Good luck

Unable to restore/mount/flash in TWRP and unable to achieve dl mode in LG Flashtool

Here's to hoping someone can help me out. My phone details before I messed up: LG G3 D850, rooted, TWRP 3.0, running Fulmics 5.2 for about 1 1/2 weeks
I noticed that I was not seeing the LTE indicator on my phone. I checked the HUB and saw the BootD850-30012016 data patch and figured that I just needed to install. So I flashed it and my phone wouldn't start. I was able to boot into recovery, so I figured I would do a clean install of the ROM so I did a full wipe, accidentally wiping EVERYTHING except for my external SD.
Result was that I can access TWRP but am unable to flash any of my backups or zips from my external SD, or OTG. I can see the files, but don't have the option to "swipe". I also am unable to 'mount' or 'install'.
At this point, I noticed that AT&T has finally released the OTA for Marshmallow, so I figured I would just use LG FlashTool and totally un-root and give the update a try. (BTW, I have used the flash tool many times with no problems/issues on both my phone and my son's D855).
Unfortunately, I am getting the dreaded "unable to change to download mode" after 15 seconds. I have uninstalled and re-installed Flash Tool, the LG Drivers and all files and used every port on both of my computers (Windows 10 btw) but can't get past the download error.
So...after many hours of digging, I took a leap of faith and was able to sideload Fulmics 5.1 successfully and install the 5.2 update from the HUB. I made backup of the ROM but TWRP still won't allow me to "swipe" and install/restore. I reinstalled TWRP using Flashify and it installed version 2.8 but still no go on flashing from recovery.
I realize that I'm lucky to have been able to figure out how to get the phone back using the sideload function in TWRP, but I really do want to go back to stock and it bugs me that I am unable to use my backups.
Sorry for the novel, but I wanted to be sure to include everything I did....if anyone can help me out I would be much obliged. My 11 year old is anxiously waiting on me to figure this out before she gets this phone (I'm moving up to the HTC 10 in a couple of weeks!). She still thinks I'm 'SuperMommy' so if I can fix this I get to keep my swagger!
I was also running fulmics 5.1 and updated to 5.2 in my phone but now i was having pretty good laggs and i finally realised that the update provided by the phone was corruped so i went on the official site and downloaded the same 5.2 OTAs from there and flashed it into TWRP recovery to finally get the latest version 5.3..know that is it always advisable to flash zip file when in recovery mode using TWRP recovery...The big mistake was cleaning also the internal memory of your phone.this caused the malfunction of twrp.
The issue is that most often i have seen cases of lagg in those updating to fulmics 5.2 from the Hub .sometimes in twrp recovery the update files will not successfully wipe and then reboot system with 5.2 installed but with many lagg the file downloaded there may be corrupted and not give you permission to swipe..if you really like fulmics and still update to the latest..Try this it may help you solve your problem:1 reinstall the fulmics 5.1 go to xdadevelopers.com/fulmics follow the link given by xpirit to www.fulmics.com and download the OTA 5.2(file size maybe 46 mb).. 2.reboot your phone now in twrp recovery it should now be able swipe and install..(if not then install Twrp 3.0 and try) 3-search the files in your internal memory or wherever you have downloaded it and flash it ..4.reboot system. That should be done!! In case you want to come back to stock and cant install from Twrp then the problem is with Twrp just download the latest version that goes with your phone.
Thanks guys for the suggestions. I finally figured it out after a couple days of sweating and swearing. Yaneddik, you were spot on about updating from the Hub. I ended up installing TWRP 2.8.6 and re-installed 5.1 from the Fulmics website along with the updates. Everything has been working great (except for losing LTE connectivity, but that's for another thread!). I'm not inclined to update TWRP to 3.0 unless absolutely necessary, 2.8.6 works just fine for me.

Hey there....you can access the Hub after you flash the Fulmics ROM. It's where you can get your tweaks, downloads, mods, etc. You'll find it in your app drawer.
