Hi!
Just out of plain curiosity: How hard would it be to customize the softkeys on this device? I'm not really a fan of the Asus stock softkeys and I've seen custom softkey threads all around xda, but never on TF700 forums.
Am I really just blind or has nobody yet tried this?

Oh, my bad
Well is there a name for those buttons which you use to control the tablet?
CM 10.1 lets you customise whats there and can download themes which will change them
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.janis605.softkeyz
Well, it's not really customizable on CM10, or that app. If you want real control over the nav buttons you should flash an AOKP ROM like Baked Black Bean 8.

Personally I just want to change the images/looks of the buttons. Nothing more. Don't know if that counts as real control.
But are the pics saved in some folder, like res/drawable or are they in the SystemUI.apk. Probably a stupid question, but I'm totally new to this.

They are in SystemUI.apk (look for ic_sysbar_home.png). It should be easy to find a guide how to mod SystemUI.

ok, a few years back, my windows phone had this really cool app, it was a bar across the top that was 1 or 2 pixels tall, multi colored that displayed the amount of battery left. someone told me it was in a rom, but I can't find it to save my life. maybe one of you has seen it or knows which mod, or anything about it, because I would LOVE to have that stupid little bar back.
Thanks

It's built in to Cyanogen mod, if that's available for your particular decide. Not multi color as far as I know though.

sorry if im mistaken, i dont think this feature is on cyanogen mod. It is however on most of the 'MIUI' roms, i think it is standard on there.
Is this possible to have standalone? This would complete my device.

Anyone else having problems with recorrection using the stock ICS keyboard? I thought it was working when I first installed it but doesn't seem to be the case anymore. On my Xoom or N1 running stock ICS, if I place my cursor back on a word I've previously typed it will bring back up the auto-correct suggestions, so you can choose the correct one (like if it didn't guess right). Most people familiar with the ICS kb are likely familiar with this feature.
Any feedback appreciated, this is one of the best features of the keyboard.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I've tried clearing the app data of the KB. No dice.

This guy pulled it from his GNEX: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25592151&postcount=7
Apparently its been a really long week.... "recorrection" is only allowed in certain circumstances. I was not using it correctly. If a mod sees this, please close. Thanks.
is this keyboard better than the one from the market?
I've been using it since the guy posted it. I think it's just as good as the one from the market if not better. Reminds me I need to thank that guy...

On every other android phone I've owned you could have as many keyboards as you wanted enabled without annoying popup icons. It seems that icon is there no matter what keyboard you're currently using unless you disable them in the keyboards settings menu.

Bazar's themes work on aokp also. I am using red one.
I tried the Ricardo's Holo themes on AOKP b36 (includes TMobile Theme Engine too), they seems to be working except for the battery icon that seems to be smaller than the original (and the battery dock icon non themed, but I think it's a feature from AOKP). Also, dividers aren't themed in notification center.
The holo green, red, purple work, and there is a waterpolo thats quite good that works, im on the latest nightly ie today and they work, i think our tab is mdpi, and all the themes that are being made are hdpi.

Could people post links to either the apk's or threads with the themes in for ease of use?
MDPI was for lower end resolutions. HDPI was for 800x600 (standard Android res). I'm not sure what it is called for high res devices like the Transformer and Nexus.
There IS a thread in the Galaxy Nexus forums for "THEMES THAT WORK 100%" which I would suspect would work on tablets too (same resolution).

On Megatron 1.1.1 both themes give this error: This theme was improperly compiled and cannot be installed.
so don't even bother and try installing them (the apk-way), if you are on Megatron

Does the default install of the latest build (40, I believe) include a transparent (even partially) notification dropdown?
Yes, it does have transparent lock screen. I don't think anyone will give you a list of features when you can just go to the website and see for yourself.

I want to know about the notification background.
It's not listed on their website that I've seen. It's just a simple swipe down on the status bar and either it is transparent or it isn't...

If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google. For instructions for Nexus devices running stock software, see the next paragraph.
Mirror 1 (APK)
Mirror 2 (APK)
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:
Mirror 1 (flashable ZIP)
Mirror 2 (flashable ZIP)
Note: this build is an older one, and is not representative of exactly how the keyboard will look when Android 4.2 is officially released. The word suggestion pop-ups, for example, are different from what we've seen on Nexus 4s running the release build of Android 4.2. All the functionality is there and works properly, though.

this is amazing.....seems to work better than swype, just first impression though....gonna put it thru its paces by typing up an extensive email later and hopefully get it goin good....only qualm i seem to have so far is that to add words to your dictionary for it, you have to turn off auto-correct then tap out the word then tap the word in the autocorrect list and then save it, more hassle than it should be lol
edit: is it saving words for anyone else? it says that its saving it in the dictionary, but the word never actually gets saved and vulgar words aren't even being asked to be saved either.......so i'm guessing this is the "clean" keyboard to stop us from cursing lolol
