[Q] Help installing a new rom with compatible firmware

hi device is Htc sensation 4g T-mobile version. i bought it from a retailer in india. The device was already unlocked.
i've checked cid and mid, it read 11111111 and MID PG58******
so it is supercid right?
so i downloaded a firmware 3.32 Unlocked
MD5: 18610b5c1a123f8833b8f17f336ce71b, from xda
i hope this suits my device and i'm going to flash with a rom = smartdroid berserk 1.5

Sensation Z715e wrong ID

Sensation Z715e wrong ID I have just noticed that in settings /about / phone identity /Model Number my device shows as HTC Sensation Z710e not sure how or why this has happened can someone help to correct this problem please

i am not sure but this one it can be changed from system>build.prop
somewhere there it shows the model of the device
i think you can edit it
from there the device reads information

What ROM are you using?

Sometimes this happens with different roms. It's happened to me before. No need to to worry, it will change back after flashing another rom. It won't hurt anything, at least it didn't hurt anything when it happened to me. Also after I Changed roms it went back to normal. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes

Thank you so much for all your replies I am running elegancia rom and as it's nothing to worry about I am happy to leave it as it is. The only time I could see this being a problem would be if I was thinking of selling my phone but I am more than happy with sensation so once again thank you all who posted your quick responses

if that were to happen, just change build.prop entry in ro.product.model from HTC Sensation Z710e to HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e

my ro.product.model file says sensation thats all reading the file using BuildProp editor.apk
also ro.product.device file says pyramid

No wifi?

I bought a Sensation XE from a friend and INSTANTLY did S-Off and flashed a more generic rom. My software version is 3.32.401.105. I'm pretty sure my wifi used to work but now it just says error. It works on CM10 so hardware is fine. I've tried a full wipe it still says error.
Now I'm not sure but I think it is something to do with me trying to flash custom kernels as I've downloaded 3 different ones and they all seem to fail at flashing raw image stage.
I'm sure it's all linked. I'd like help with either making wifi work with my current kernel or just help to flash a custom one properly. I'm no stranger to android and flashing roms but only had a Desire in the past from HTC. Thanks.

same problem here, updated firmware to 3.33 got wifi problems. reverted to 3.32, came back but disconnects after a while which got more n more now no wifi completely . used vipers, cm10.1 , AOKP wifix, getril different kernels, older firmware nothing. seems like a very common problem to anyone updating to ics update. any help would be nice n ill be grateful.

Re lock the bootloader.. Flash 3.33 firmware then flash the rom again

Sounds like a lot of work. Wifi works on Venom rom is there not some sort of file I can take from it to make mine work?

Did you tried another radio? I've got the same problem, switch radio and it worked!

Hi, after 1 year of moving from rom to rom i decided to change to stock rom because i want to sell the phone, I want it to be stock rom like 1 year ago when i just got the phone.. is it possible? how?

The ruu must corresponding with your cid and region in order to have a success installation
Otherwise it will throw you error
Also post your bootloader details

are you supercid?
check with fastboot getvar cid

i install from clockworkmod the cm-10.1-20130806-Albinoman887-pyramid.zip and from then when i power it up it stop at screen with htc logo
i make the part 2 off

i try to install a firmware with 4EXT but it say that the boot it is not change and i have the same broblem
i read for 8 hours post and i m comfuse

Try flashing boot image extracted from the ROM zip via fastboot.
