Rom manager is not compatible with our phones. You will likely need to revert back to an older version of cwm.

I too would also like to know where I can get this older version of cwm.
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...roms-w-root-clockwork-updated-3-25-a-389.html
There should be a link to a cwm.tar file (not the exact name) on this page. Flash it via odin and there you go.

Thats my problem I cant use my USB right now and I can only zip at the moment but barely can do that do to the Recovery messing up
Can't use USB right now...? I think you might be confusing transferring files to the USB card while the phone is booted, with flashing a TAR file via Odin.
Remember--when you're flashing via Odin, your battery is pulled, the phone is off, and then--while you do plug in your USB cable--it's only receiving power through that USB connection.
Use BDE's "How to customize.." guide here, and go directly to step 2. If you don't already have it, grab the "Red" Recovery from this thread (also linked to in BDE's guide); grab the TAR file listed there. Then go back to the guide and follow the instructions for Step 2.
That should get your recovery back to Red recovery, and I think from there I'd make sure everything else is working and the phone boots before doing anything else. Once it's up and running, then maybe give the kernel another shot.
EDIT: Thought of what else you might mean; if you're unable to get Odin to recognize when your phone is plugged in, hit up the Samsung website to get the Samsung USB drivers. Then, when you hold the volume down key as described in the guide, you should see one cell of Odin turn yellow, which tells you your phone has been recognized. Assuming you have a Windows PC, at least.

Yea I even put in another post about my USB issues and can't seem to find a solution. I may just purchase another phone. My girls works perfect and no connection problems but I may of damaged it or something but it only charges doesn't work other wise. ADB, USB file transfer, nothing.
ChromDog's post was a mess. I'm ignoring it.
So you're saying you can't even get the phone to work in Download mode? Will the phone actually boot up into Download mode?

Yea I get the yellow screen with the android saying downloading. I have tried 3 cables and 5 diff computers. I even went to cellular south and got a new cable. When I figured it was my phone was when my girls phone worked with the same equipment. Also sometimes when I plug it up to the PC doing download mode it will say USB Not Recognized and I have the drivers installed I even tried to select the specific driver but didnt know which one to do out the that folder of many LOL
Have you tried opening ODIN in Download Mode anyway just to see if it'll recognize the phone?

Rare is the occasion that wiser words than these have been uttered. XD
While I was getting pretty wordy with my answer, Add's more or less on the same track as me: Even with the USB not working when the phone's booted normally, does Odin recognize it even so, or is Odin what you've been trying and not getting to work?

The different computers you tried wouldn't really matter unless each one had the Samsung USB driver installed. Also, does your girlfriend have the same model phone as you? If not, it's not necessarily a fair test.
It does sound like you've tried using Odin, and it just hasn't worked (based on the bolded part). So, try this:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SCH-I500RKAXAR
Go to the above link. Underneath where it says "Download Center for SCH-I500RKAXAR", look for "Manuals | Software". Software should be a blue link; click on that.
You should see a list of four items you can download. Look all the way to the right, under the "File" column; there should be four little icons. Click on the first of the four, and Agree to their user agreement. Save the file somewhere easy to remember, and run that file. I'd suggest doing this on any home computer you might connect your Showcase to.
Then, try putting the phone in Download mode and connecting to Odin once again.
Does it work after that?
I dont know how or why but I was able to get odin to work on a XP machine and I flashed the odin files for pick and pack and the odin files for cwm recovery all and was able to get both the recovery and 2.2 but I have more problems LOL. My internal memory is 0. I factory wiped and wiped cache via red recovery but to no avail. Still getting 0
If you can get into your phone and do stuff in Android, I'd run a Titanium Backup of your apps and stuff. If not, you may be SOL.
I'd start by just finding a stock ROM for 2.1 or 2.2.1 and Odin'ing that over to the phone. Start completely clean, no custom ROMs. Then load up CWM Red again.

I have been looking for 2.1 Stock Rom for CS but I have not been able to. I have my apps backed up but unfortunately I can't install them in this Rom yet but I will keep trying to get it.
Ouchie! I just had a look throughout the Mes Dev thread, and the one post I saw for EB11 for Showcase had the link removed. Couldn't find any other reference for an actual stock 2.1 or 2.2.1 specifically for the showcase; the guys *may* tell you the Mesmerize ones work for Showcase, but DO NOT use them until one of them says so. I would guess not, but don't know for sure.
I'd see about hitting the IRC channel and asking for a clean stock ROM from there, and/or maybe getting some "in-person" advice that way. ...or hope Phidelt82 or Elijahblake come across this thread to get it to you/help you out otherwise. XD
LOL IKR but I have already asked them for a Stock 2.1 Rom for CS and I was pointed to someone but they haven't responded to me so idk. And thanks for some of the info and I am happy I was able to get the files b4 he removed his comments. I had them already saved on the computer.

Some individuals were trying to put together a 2.1 stock image but weren't able to get one working, the one they have is stock 2.2 and that is the only pure stock ROM they have, but there is no reason to go back to 2.1 unless you planned on using it and staying with it, so a clean flash to 2.2 should fix any issues you may be experiencing.

YES!!!!!!!! Internal Storage w/ Superclean and a working recovery. Well I have more issues to attend to but that's wonderful to me.
ok, so a few days ago i was flashing the G2x weapon rom onto my rooted G2x, but while i was in the clockwork mod to flash it it froze on me, i left it like that for an hour or so, but it didnt work, so i took the battery out. now whenever i turn it on, it loads the LG screen, then nothing, the screen stays turned on, but its black, ive tried to boot it into recovery mode but that does not work either. What should i do?
Did you do One-Click NVFlash>? if u used Rom Manager you probably fake flashed and thats why its not working for you. You should use NVflash followt he steps and boot up into recover and restore a back up. GOod Luck

Since changing to Nvflash, did you download the rom you want to install and transfer it to the phone from your computer. Using Rom Manager it may not have left a copy on your phone.
If you cant hook up the SD card to the computer, get an external SD card and make sure u've installed clockwordmod with external sd, hook it up to a laptop with an SD card slot, and put it in , then take the mini sd and pop it in your phone, then boot up and that should do it good luck! atleast now your 1 step closer to recovering your phone
Ughh hate,seeing this happen...hope u flashed nV..all the best

Hope you didn't brick your phone.
No you did not brick your phone. Rom manager downloads the file to sdcard/clockworkmod/downloads. Look there for the file. Only if you download a rom from your browser does it go to externalsdcard/downloads

My wife's GS4G connects to the computer but only charges. The phone does not recognized that it's plugged in to the computer, and the computer doesnt acknowledge the device either. I doubt I have a driver issue because the computer would at least tell me that it couldnt find them. The phone only charges when it's connected. I want to know if there's a way to root the phone without using the computer. I could then use wireless adb after that I guess. I looked at this one tutorial but I couldnt flash any Rooting Zips from the bootloader because my bootloader is version e3 (?) and I guess you need e2. Is there a workaround for this or am I forever doomed?
Assuming you're on Froyo, download the update.zip from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099374
That will get you CWM.
Download the Bali kernel from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080871
Once you put it on your sd card and use the update.zip from the first post to get into cwm, flash the new kernel since it's got a newer version of CWM + root. You'll be able to tinker with your phone after that. Note that you will only have support for Froyo CWM roms after that so don't try flashing any Gingerbread CWM roms until you manage to get your computer to recognize it.
Great! Now what's restricting the ROM flashing to Froyo only? I've talked to a few people that think the usb port on the phone is broken. I've gotten no other explanations. It doesn't look like I'll be getting it connected at all.

To upgrade to Gingerbread you need to install a new bootloader that is only installable via samsung kies or via odin/hemidall. All of which require you to be hooked to a computer.

What eollie said is true. We've tried experimenting with flashing bootloaders via CWM, but that just wound up bricking phones, so you WILL need a computer to get on Gingerbread.
Maybe you can try to get a phone repair company to fix your USB port for you once you verify that it IS broken.

"use the update.zip to get into cwm" The update.zip file will get you yellow cwm. Don't worry it won't brick her phone if you're on Froyo and you have the SGH-T959V. The bali kernel won't work unless you flash it from the yellow CWM. If the screen you're trying to flash from has mostly blue letters, you're in samsung recovery which will only let you flash the update.zip to get yellow CWM.
Ok, This is what I did. I downloaded the second linked file from the thread you linked. It was an update.zip. I booted into the screen with the mostly blue letters,
did you select install update zip bro?
yeah. Thats how I got to what you see in the second image
Since your phone is probably not rooted you'll need to use this exploit to get it rooted directly from the phone:

even though i never got the same message, but even I cant see the rest of the memory..only 1.8 is present....
Hmmm... Could be a hardware issue then. As for your network, you have to set your phone on the correct APN. It takes forever for my pc to recognize my internal storage or that its connected, but I think that's an issue with some people on ics. Try reinstalling the samsung drivers.

For those who have been following this thread, the moral is this:
You're only bricked if you literally have a dead phone that doesn't respond at all. Can't turn on, doesn't vibrate, doesn't show signs of charging, doesn't go to DL mode, etc. Even then, if you have the unbrickable mod then you are literally never going to be able to brick your phone, even under circumstances that would normally cause a brick.
Well it bricks, but you run a program that takes advantage of the hardware being wired to be able to load things into the RAM while the phone is off and execute an upgrade from there!
i wanted to root my phone and upgrade to jelly bean on my sgh-7127 and i accidently forgot to move cm-10-20120722 zip to my sd card. everything was working smoothly... followed the steps precisely, all the way to step to this step....
7. Select Install ZIP from SD Card. Select Choose ZIP from SD Card and locate the CyanogenMod 10 Alpha ROM.
then i realized i messed up. what do i do now? i tried to restore, reboot... send the file to sd card plugged in. want do anything except show samsung on the screen. how can i start over.... did i brick this phone?
By restore do you mean restore a backup? Or restore factory in CWM? You made a backup of stock I presume?
How did you try to send file? Seems you have CWM installed so just boot into recovery, I believe it's power while holding volume up then release power once on and keep holding volume.
You can go to mount and storage in recovery, choose mount USB, and easily transfer whatever you want from your PC.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Use the Q&A forum next time please, this thread will probably be moved there sooner or later.
I didn't quite understand what is your issue but if I got it right you have a boot loop, meaning everytime your phone boots up to samsung's logo it restarts.
You can do a few things, first restore a backup, you said you tried it and if you're still on a boot loop the backup may have been a bad one, try using an earlier backup if you have one.
Second in recovery mount your SD card and copy the file to it.
Third, get an external SD card, plug it to your computer with an adapter, copy the file, insert to your phone and flash from there.
Last option restore to stock rooted ICS using odin, you can find the tar on the dev section. Copy the file to your phone and flash your desired rom.

Connect phone to pc while in cwm. In cwm you can go to advanced-->mount USB storage/SD card. Then you can place the file on external SD. If you are on cwm 6.0.1.2 then I believe there is a choose zip from internal SD option

b4 you started flashing on your new toy, dont you think you should of done more reading, my suggestion, read my 2nd link on restoring to stock in my sig, its for newbs but you need some computer knowledge, and stay that way until you become more knowledgeable on android, flashing, and using a custom recovery.
btw, you dont need to root to flash custom roms, so your title for this thread is not even the problem you have, lol.

dude... im just trying to get where i can use the phone again. ive tried everything. how can i just upload the original ics firmware and the phone work? i missed one important step when i tried rooting with jelly bean. ive erased, backed up, restored, flashed, odin... everything. nothing works. it will not go back to stock ics. all you get is a bright samsung image and the ability to mess with clock work. this really sux. i wouldnt have a problem if i didnt accidently miss that one step. wish like hell i could just reverse this and move on. i have a kid on the way and i really need my phone.
I don't think you gave a response on putting the JB file on the phone. Forgetting to put a file on the SD card is far from a problem.
Go to mounts in recovery and mount as USB while connected to your PC. Just pull the rom file over and continue on with the install as you normally would.
If you want to go back to stock there's a thread on odin'ing back to stock.

thats just it, you dont need to root anything, all custom roms are prerooted, only stock needs to be rooted, if you read anything you would of known, and if having a phone is important to you because you have a kid on the way, stop flashing. im not trying to be rude,
if you have twrp, goto mount usb storage, either you have internal or external checked sdcard, they might both work, transfer a rom that you have on your comp or dl another one to your sdcard....umount, hit the home button , hit install and find the rom you put on your sdcard
bam!!!! got it running usung odin. all i had to was extract ics firmware through odin then flash. if you dont extract the file to odin it want work. i still want to root and use jelly bean but im kinda nervous after all this crap i went through with this phone lol
thanx for the help!!!

You really don't listen. I hope you get it back up and running but you should leave it stock until you get a true grasp on what you are doing. I'm not trying to be rude but you need a more in depth knowledge or you will end up with a paperweight.
As described before, custom roms are PRE-Rooted. You don't need root to flash it. You simply need cwm touch, the necesary files, and most important, knowing what you are doing once it comes time to flash. No one wants to see u brick your phone and that is why we strongly suggest you get back stock firmware and learn before moving forward. Jellybean isn't that stable quite yet anyway with random reboots and lockups among various other problems still yet to be ironed out so even if you were successful in flashing jb you would probably want to go back to a more stable rom. You said it yourself that you have kids and are quite busy

I think what he meant is, he had a completely stock phone, and rooted it to get cwm on it. I don't think he was trying to root his custom rom.
But dude, you REALLY don't need to be putting JB on your phone yet, it's not stable and if you're having this much trouble with the simple stuff, you definitely are in for lots of headaches with JB! Even the guys that been doing this for a while have issues. If you absolutely must have a custom rom though, go with cm9 stable release. I really recommend that you leave your phone stock for now, until you get a better grip on things and you can risk losing your phone for a while. It just takes one missed step, like this one you just did, to brick your phone. Think about it.
