Galaxy S4 bumper makes your GS4 seems like iPhone - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

iPhone bumper proved a talent idea and seems its design also available on Galaxy S4 ...from the bumper if you could get some iPhone elements ?

I don't want to click on the OP's link... what was it that's offensive?

That's pretty BA in my opinion ,good find

delete

really, forget those aluminium bumpers, i got the draco und my s3 and the gps reception was awful, also the phone signal wasn that good with it.
the same thing with those s3 /s4 back covers from ebay with aluminium inlay.

Bumper low down the mobile signal? it's funny as this is the first time to heard of it if we come back to think what makes the bumper give out? the fact is iPhone 4 have a mobile signal problem if you don't have a right holding, and Apple find the bumper could avoid this funny right holding to keep the signal far away from bad effect, and how come this bumper mentioned will have a mobile signal purge and if you have already experienced on this bumper or what's your idea based on ?
Well, I'm also annoyed for the Galaxy S3 aluminum back cover/PC Back cover which is indeed low the signals, seems that's because the S3 get a over protection with some ports or the signal receiver get covered at the meanwhile, yet this bumper only protect the margin and not cover the battery cover as well as any ports at all...don't see how could it low signals...
anyway,it's better if someone have got this bumper to post his experience or objective reviews and not make someone miss this great design concept if it's indeed a great products...

No. Count me in.
I can't distance myself far away enough from an iphone.
Even anything remotely apple for that matter.

Meh. These can be obtained from eBay heaps cheaper.

Yes because I wanna make my superior phone look like that of a child phone company. Such a great idea.

Wow fanboys galore in here. Apple make some quality products, I'd never use a pc again over my iMac. Windows is just horrible especially windows 8 that's made for children. Agree that you shouldn't want to make the s4 feel like an iPhone even if the iPhone is superior in build quality. But that's as far as it goes.

Well yeah but who says I use windows? I triboot Ubuntu/android/and windows 7. And windows 8 only sucks on a non touchscreen laptop. But anywho stating that apple makes quality items and then calling us a fanboy isn't contradictory to itself. And the iPhone having superior build? Glass all glass? Lol.

You sound like a bitter kid, calm down. No I said 'some' if I said all quality products then yes but I use apple and Samsung products. I know quality when I see it and don't buy something and threat it like a sports team. If you think the S4 is better built than the IPhone 5 then your deluded and no point in me debating anything with you. I suppose you think the s4 is better than the One too.

I agree ebay and some other local shops have better and cheaper bumpers for Galaxy phones.

yes, I indeed found some cheaper bumpers, yet also keep in mind that Galaxy S4 is a high-end phone, never get the answer that why few people always going to buy their high-class mate an entry-level case to make it seems a Chinese knock-off..? let alone the cheap gadget will enjoy no high quality and just welcome the painting peel-off or the surface get oxidation to become ugly dark in color...

I know right. Their mind set seems to be "oooh. that case is so expensive, i can get one on eBay for $1"
I'm so glad I ordered the genuine sgp neo hybrid case. Its worth every penny. I ordered a cheap eBay NED hybrid and woah, that thing is crap indeed.
Also ordered a d30 case from tech21.

I personally loved the protection my bumper case gave my s3. I got a cheap Chinese case but this case took a hell of a beating and kept my phone in good condition.
I ordered another bumper case on ebay, if it can protect my s4 as well as my s3 than its worth the 30. I, personally, think it adds a rugged elegance to the s4

[Q] Hard Case for Desire

I am looking for good hard case, I really like this one for iphone: SwitchEasy CapsuleNeo. But it doesn't matter, I preffer good quality.
I tried leather pouch case and sillicon case and both are looking ugly and cheap after using it while. The sillicon is too thick and after three months is quite stretched.
Thanks for advice
Have you looked at these? http://www.otterbox.com/htc-cases/htc-desire-cases/

I had a PDair case on my last phone.
They are very VERY good and will really keep your phone looking like new.
BUT
Be aware that they do impact signal strength and could make the difference between 2 bars and no bars.

Really? I've never encountered such problem, though. Pdair is a very famous case maker with rich experiences, I think they will fully test the products before commercial launch?? BTW, have you asked for replacement?

If you fully encase a phone in metal, it's kind of expected that reception will be affected to some degree. I suspect that different phone will also be affected in different ways dependant on where the antenna is located.
As I said, the PDair case IS very very good and I was prepared to accept the trade off on reception (which was only really a deal in poor reception areas) against the ultimate protection for my phone. When I eventually sold the phone on eBay, the buyer did not believe this had been my work phone for the last year plus as it was in such good condition.
My experience was however in an area of marginal signal, taking the phone out of the metal case resulted in an extra bar or 2. I do not believe this to be a faulty case, just physics

Alot like the way the Htc Legend has been having poor reception due to it been made from aluminium.
I had a 2 part case and broke it due to having to take the battery or sd card out frequently with flashing roms daily. What ive got now is a Casemate Barely There and it does its job brilliantly.

It just arrived, and it is perfect! The screen protector had gone on flawlessly, and is much smoother than my last one, giving the feel and slip of a bare glass screen. The case itself is very well made, and although it adds some minor bulk to the phone,i think it looks cool. All cutouts line up perfectly, and it feels very good to hold.
Well worth the money if you don't mind the look it gives the phone.

Mercury is a Korean brand, and it is "产地:韩国,MADE IN KOREA". Of course, this being taobao, it could also end up being an imitation.

I know right! I'm using a similar case for my tablet, and I take it out whenever I'm at home. For the Nexus 4 though, that could be a very dangerous thing to do... Then again, with the current case I'm using, the bulk makes it difficult to have a one-hand operation anyway.
Ordered this case on Monday from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive from Korea to Singapore. Ordered Lime green/Navy blue and Mint/Navy blue. Will post again once I receive it.
This case is pretty good. The tpu inside is a tight fit and the speaker, cut outs are ample and precise. The colours are pretty funky too. This is the mint/navy blue version. Just received it today

Liking it so far. I think it's worth getting as it can protect the front screen although the power buttons are little tough to reach but it's possible to get used to. Using proximity screen off so that's not really an issue for me
Realize this thread is a little old but I just received mine today and am pleasantly surprised. I have tried a couple of flip cases for my Nexus 4 (Poetic, PDair) and have been disappointed. This one is nicely made, feels good, and has a nice magnetic clasp. I especially like the fact that, if you choose to put credit cards in it, the edges of the embedded TPU case prevent the cover from coming in contact with the screen.
It only failed one requirement I had for such a case... and that is easy removal. Since the back of the TPU case is covered with the hard wallet material, it makes it a bit tougher to get the Nexus out. But considering I have yet to be pleased with any of the other flip cases this is now no longer one of my requirements. A steal for under 10 bucks!

I'm located near Shenzhen China and have been to the stores, which are actually entire buildings, where they manufacture and sell these cases.
These cases are essentially replicas, but they definitely do a good job of copying the real mercury cases, down to the very minute details. Some stores have better replicas than others, for example these Fancy Diary cases may have the threading skipped on the edges, fraying, or discoloration. Here at ground zero, you can pick these cases up in bulk for $15 - $20 RMB which is slightly over $2 USD on average.
Not saying these cases aren't worth it, but just thought it would be interesting to let you know where these cases came from. Being that the price was so cheap, I definitely picked up a few cases myself for friends and family without even thinking twice.
Not being able to decide, which from the two should I pick. Any suggestion?

For all crybabies that complain about plastic

I personally don't care as much as most crybabies that chose a phone over the other because one is made of uni-body aluminum and the other of poly-carbonate, i like function over fashion. I prefer an SD and removable battery vs a phone cold to the touch. The HTC one is pretty sexy, but it lacks all the experience Samsung has crafted into the Galaxy line.
Anyways, i'm not here to debate this, i'm here to offer a solution to the ones that complain. Buy a brushed aluminum door. Since the front is glass, you now only have a plastic bezel, all the rest is high quality material. I bought one of these off ebay for under 5$, i didnt buy it to have a more solid feeling, i bought it because i'm not a big fan of the fake texture samsung put into the S4.

I could imagine these might interfere with radio signal
First off why are you even defending this. Its just a phone. Nobody will care for this thread with this title. You could have easily posted this in the case or accessories thread OR in the Htc one forum . Get off the s4 nutz and let people have their opinion, and don't let it get to you because in reality it doesn't even affect you about how they feel or think. Or does it... im just sick of these threads cluttering the s4 forum. Still amazed people still let it get to them. Did Samsung hire you?
You can say nobody cares, but the fact is you spend a few minutes replying to this thread so that shows the exact opposite.
The reason for me posting this is a lot of threads that talk about the GS4 have people in it who, for some reason, always bring back the fact that the GS4 is plastic and is cheaper because of that, i personally think people should change disk because there are so many alternatives that will fit anybody's needs.
Second of all, i'm not defending anything, i'm just suggesting people an alternative to a problem they might have. If anything, this post affected you more than anything for such an aggressive response.
And as for the interference, I've had a brushed aluminum door on my GS3 since 2 weeks after launch, it didn't seem to affect much. I've always had the same signal with or without the door.
And no, i don't work for Samsung, but i can tell you i'd love to work for them because they rock!!

Is there any truth to this? Would the metal back ACTUALLY effect the signal and NFC?? Alluminum is not exactly "highly conductive" and phones like the HTC One we have all heard so much about, are made almost completely from aluminum. . .
I would like to see a higher quality photo or video of the black battery door.
The only thing I don't about the S4 is the glossy finish to the original battery door.

Yeah these are pretty slick. If I hadn't already spent a grip on cases I would probably think about one of these.
As far as the hostility in this thread I think it stems from the title. If you wanted less angst you could have titled it something along the lines of "Cool Aluminum S4 Case" instead of the "crybabies". Just sayin.
I wonder if this would fit the I9505 as well? as far as I know there's no structural differences between the two.

I had an Inspire 4G before my S4, and while I don't think I'd say the S4 feels cheap in comparison, it definitely feels fragile in comparison. I don't have a case yet either, and without one, it feels like something that you could snap in half if you sat on it by accident. On the otherhand, I'm pretty sure my 4G could survive being thrown at a brick wall by Aroldis Chapman.
Few questions if y'all don't mine answering
On the metal blackcover
Does the phone heat up any more than usual?
Can you verify NFC doesn't work?
Does the cover add any thickness?
Do you think the metal back cover will work with the metal bumper?
Thanks for your time

Is there any truth to this? Would the metal back ACTUALLY effect the signal and NFC?? Alluminum is not exactly "highly conductive" and phones like the HTC One we have all heard so much about, are made almost completely from aluminum. . .

If the case is made of read aluminium, NFC should NOT work, it can't.
Now the wifi/signal etc are a different story, they shouldn't be affected, and if they are, it should be minimal.
The HTC one has two plastic stripes on the back, above the radios.

3. It does, a little that some case wouldnt work
4. Depends on what kind of metal bumper, but im 99% sure it will not fit.

Love Mei Case Review

Hey everyone.
I've had the case for a couple of days now testing it.
I have to day... I love it.
Design:
Stunning. Smooth, solid, heavy and all round perfect. Feels really good in the hands with the rubber and it just feels safe.
Strength:
Stupid. Basically. Chucked in on a very bumpy and stone floor outside a work shop and couple of scratches on the case and that's it. Nothing came off it and sounded like I dropped a brick. Was sanding my mates car and painting it. Left my phone in my pocket and had a few heavy corner hits to it from the car and no damage at all. No paint inside or dust. There was a lot of dust in the shed.
Usability:
If you don't mind the Note 2 size but and thicker then this case will do you fine. No nerves about dropping it into water or anything. Used it in the rain and nothing. (Heavy rain for 10 minutes).
Cons:
In call. People can't hear you very well. The mic is covered by waterproof/resistant sheet which muffles it a lot apparently. If you don't mind talking louder you are fine. My Grandad is 80 and he could hear me.
The WiFi signal is dropped by 2 bars. So I can't use it in my bedroom. But phone signal is not affected.
Here are some pictures for you.

this isnt the same seller skrappi used, but its where i ordered mine, and its a buit cheaper, but look around, bsellers come on and offline alot with these things, but beware of the knockoffs, there's a knockoff called pepk, the best way i can figure to tell the difference is that the pepk case only comes in two colors

The pepk case looks more solid built. The love mei is more rounded.
Color wise they both have the same.
And thanks.
The link for the case is here:

Yes, but this is a chinese case. As far as I'm aware, there aren't any fakes for this case.
It is suppose to retail for about $30 ish outside China. Charging $60? That's a rort.

Ok. We'll still fall back to the previous argument. "$60? It must be a fake since the love mei website sells for $96" At this point of time, we'll think that whoever charges higher must be legit.
For instance, I'm now selling the OFFICIAL LEGIT GENUINE Love Mei Case on my blog for only $300. Comes with FREE EXPRESS shipping. There will be some idiots who believe it is safer to buy from me because of my higher price.

Even while it is advertised as the Love Mei, the screenshots are from the Pepk knockoff which is known to have a plastc screen protector instead of the gorilla glass one. Look closely and you will see Pepk written on the upper right side.

Indeed this is not a love mei case at all. The case Is solid as a brick but the screen is plastic and things fall off. Plus it takes up to 2 weeks to deliver.

question about the case
I should receive mine in a few weeks as I ordered it on Ebay for about $33 shipped. I do agree that the Pepk is a knock off and doesn't offer gorilla glass. Anyways, what concerns me the most is losing certain features like NFC, Sbeam, 1-2 bars of signal strength.
I bought an aluminum case for this about a month ago. Unfortunately I had to return it because I lost one bar consistently. Now this even with the back cover of the S4 removed. You have to remove it to fit into this case. I took it out and I got the bar back. So I knew it was due to the case.
Now with this case, it's even thicker AND you don't remove the back. That means more rubber, metal to go through. That's what worries me most. Waterproof? I don't plan to swim with it or use it while I"m paddling a canoe. But for those times where I'm using the john and I drop it on the toilet (which I've done 3 times to my phones), I want to be able to grab it (yes, I'm going right in) and rinse it off without ruining the phone.
Some have said they plan to put a strip of copper foil underneath the case to extend the signal quality. Not sure if that will work or how they plan to do it.

Draco Hydra Bumper Case For Galaxy S4 (Review)

I was a Lumia 920 user and loved the way it looked. A month back, I switched to Galaxy S4, but soon found how cheap it looked compared to the Lumia 920. There is day and night difference in how solid Lumia felt and Samsung felt. A friend of mine told me about Draco and how good-looking your phone becomes after putting it on.
I bit the bullet and bought it. It costed me a hefty $99, and so far, I have been very happy with it.

Unlike the iPhone 5 Draco case (which I also have), there is no signal drop at all (although Draco claimed there would be no drop in signal in iPhone 5).
+ Looks amazing
+ Excellent built quality. No rattles anywhere, whatsoever.
+ Makes your phone unique
+ Does not affects cellular or Wi-Fi signal strength.
+ GPS works just fine.
+ Phone no longer feels slippery. It adds good grip, thanks to black plastic accents
- Price. At $99.99, not everybody can afford it. But if you can afford it, go, get it. Do not get the cheap knockoffs, as they may affect signal strength.
You can find my complete review here. High resolution pictures can be seen here.

Yes, I have one. I think I paid 10 for mine. There is no way I could ever justify 100 for a case.

I could maybe justify $100 for case, but for THAT? No way. Lifeproof or Otterbox, maybe. Maybe.
I DO like the way it looks, just far to expensive.
that ducati case looks like it makes the phone way too hard to hold on to lol
id buy the aliexpress version
Why would they put Ducati on the case? I really think it shrinks their target market down to non existent. Even if I owned a Ducati, I wouldn't want it on my phone, its just odd. And from my experience (I had one on the S3 that looked much better) it messes with the signal.
The Element Eclipse is a much better premium style case and it doesnt mess with the signal as much because the metal doesnt wrap around where the antenna is. Any metal case that wraps around the antenna location is going to mess with the signal somewhat. Plus with the element, you get full protection and you can find them for under 20 bucks on ebay.
I'm glad you're enjoying it, I doubt they sell many though because of the strange decision to slap Ducati all over it.

The draco hydra design looks cooler than those simple bumpers. Either way I enjoy the ease of removing my battery, with a case like that there wouldn't be anything easy about it

Actually, mine is very easy to take out. The face on my aluminum bumper slides off to let the phone out that's actually the only reason I bought it. The one above looks like the screw on type. That I couldn't deal with.

I had the one for s3 and iPhone 5. They did somewhat messed with cellular and WiFi radios. Looks like this issue has been resolved in GS4's case.
PS: You can choose not to put the Ducati sticker on the back. But yeah, you can do nothing about the one on the case itself.
