This is the message I get when trying to flash recovery. How do I fix??
Thank you. I have been out of the game for a while.
You should use mfastboot.exe available in dev section, I believe, to flash the recovery. I used to get that too when using only fast boot.exe but when I switched to mfastboot it works fine I'll try to find it and post a link in a little bit

Try renaming the file to only twrp.img and try again? Maybe you're typing in the name wrong :s

I have an Atrix 2 US at&t version unlocked.I tried flashing Asian retail image on it using RSD lite(I know I shouldn't have due to hardware difference between us and Asian version.but i didn't know this then of course).however the flashing was unsuccessful and now every time my phone restarts it goes into AP FASTBOOT MODE (FLASH FAILURE)
I can't get it to boot normally.any help would be highly appreciated.
thanks....

If you have NOT installed ICS at any time you should use rsdlite to flash the AT&T 2.3.5 fxz and go from there. If you had ICS then you should use Jim's ICS to GB script which will get you back to 2.3.5 as well.

i believe theres only 2.3.5 fxz for at n t and you have to replace some files before flashing..did you do it??

I just used the fxz file directly without any editing

This is happening cause the flashing failed when you tried to flash the wrong firmware. When the phone boots, it runs certain system checks, and if it fails those checks, as a safe mode, it throws itself into Fastboot. It will do this because it is unsure if the phone is safe to boot.
You can boot it normally from FB by hitting power, (screen shuts off) hold down both volume rockers, and hit the power button. Then select boot normally.
And devil is right, reflashing the PROPER fxz will fix this issue. Follow the noob guide in the stickies of this forum.
I know I have been using my Atrix by manually booting it in normal mode.I just want everything to go back to normal.will I be able to ota it to 2.3.6 once I flash 2.3.5???

That post is over a year old. I would think he's got this problem solved by now.

The bootloader on this phone is not unlockable. Besides, if you'll read the entire thread you'll see that the problem was already solved... more than a year and a half ago.
I searched the threads for an answer but could not find one.
I keep getting an error (error 7) while trying to flash on my Xoom. I tried to fix permissions. That did not work.

Awesome. Thanks.
I've got another problem with the rom. I have a wifi connection but no 3g. I choose the 3g Xoom version when downloading straight from CNA's site. Not sure why this is happening.

Try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507672. I guess you have a defective search button
-Edit- Doesn`t boot sorry bro.
TWRP is reported to be working from here http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hammerhead, choose the latest 2.6.3.2 version and flash in fastboot;
Or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47108907

I support. This seems like a boot.img problem. Try to make it via PC while the phone is in fastboot mode.
This is for a galaxy s3, would download/odin mode qualify as a fastboot mode? :S

Make a flash able zip for boot.img.
.img cannot be flashed through custom recoveries. .
Only zip file can be flashed.

Great app but this isn't an official one.
The XDA thread has been closed and there's no update on Google Play for 2 months.
I don't know if jmz still has other projects... Flashify is also a great app to directly flash the img files without a PC.
I heard that
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
works pretty well...

It doesn't hurt to know all the options and procedures. Actually OP would have already known this if he hadn't used a toolkit to root in the first place
-1 for toolkits
But yes, options are:
Fastboot flash img
recovery install zip
Flashify flash img
Thanks to all for the help suggestions , but yeah I used a tool kit which means I don't know how to do it manually that's why I asked for the easiest way to update .

It would be good to learn how to do it manually. It's really pretty easy. And you'll know your phone better and know how to do things yourself.
