I'm using LiquidSmooth 2.3 nightly right now but this issue has been one I've tried to address, unsuccessfully, with multiple ROMs, not just LS.
At random intervals, I get the following SMS:
VZWNMN:1
The numeral "1" is different more often than not - it might be VZWNMN:2, or 5 or whatever. The highest I've seen is 6.
Anyone got any ideas as to what causes this and how to stop it? Not that it matters - it's a nuisance is all. But this is a hairy wart on Kristie Brinkley's nose - a beautiful work of art degraded by something that is a surface blemish only.
By the way Kristie... I'd date you with the wart or not, so if you're reading this, just PM me baby.... LOL
Thanks y'all - any help is appreciated.

If you notice, its always when you get an email. Go to MyVerizon website and turn off backup assistant. Pretty sure that's what it is.

Unrooted with latest ota and the screen just times out at random times. No matter what screen timeout is set on. Any help is appreciated.

Sometimes I've got a case when screen doesn't time out at all. Including on latest 4.5.608 update. Reboot fixes it for me. Have you tried rebooting (with taking battery out before powering it on again to make sure it is a true cold boot)?
No I haven't, my case, makes it hard to do a battery pull, guess im just lazy. Will let you know the results. Thanks for the quick response

It's likely a bug of some sort. Hardware and software are so complex, it is impossible to make it perfect. But problems like this one aren't "turning the cart over" especially if they occur rather seldom and there is (somewhat) acceptable "workaround".

Could be simpler?
My wife recently switched from Iphone 2G to a blazing droid 2 G, she was all happiness, but recently she started to complain the same thing your talking about (random screen timeout), so I tried his phone but the problem do not happened when I was using the phone, so after some intriguing days, I found something...
When she uses the phone, sometimes inadvertently she was blocking the sensors (in the upper right frame) that are triggered when you are in a call, causing immediately lock screen.
So, after being more cautious about not to block this part of the screen the problem didn't happen again.
I hope every one else suffers this simple problem instead of having a real hardware issue.
Saludos.
Just disable in-pocket detection.
Download Screebl from the Market. It can detect when your phone I actively being used and prevents screen timeouts until you put the phone down. Great app, I think you'll find it useful.
Gonna try the screebl app out, sounds pretty useful

while the phone is on the charger, my touch screen is a ton less responsive and I text super quick and am really fast with my phone and on quick taps and swipes my phone will either not respond at all or take the action as just a tap. Anyone have this problem or know aa way to fix this? I've had this problem on every rom including stock.

I'm not doubting your skills at all and I personally don't care what you are or what your qualifications are, that being said, I'm sorry if you think I was calling you out on something.
When I get to a desktop, I will be more than happy to locate something for you.

Anyone recommend 1 of the 2 for the aosp lockscreen? I don't really know what they are
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA
They change the Java heapsize to whatever size they're labeled as. My experience with playing with that number on past roms is that while it will make them less frequent, it will not eliminate them completely, and there are other considerations when changing it as well.
dwitherell posted a potential fix in the Tweaked thread this morning. It will eliminate the music control widget from the lockscreen, under the theory that it is causing the hotboots. I'm testing it and so far, so good. You won't have music controls on the lockscreen, but hopefully, you won't get hotboots.

Music controls are useless on the lockscreen anyway because of the long press volume keys hack.
Sent from my handheld Linux computer using electromagnetic radiation.
Hopefully that is all that is needed Phase 2 will involve removing a few lockscreens, but I'm hoping this solves enough of the problem that it's no longer an issue.

Does anyone have issues with the wallpaper randomly reverting back to the stock ICS wallpaper?
I can't seem to keep my wallpaper on my home screen for very long.

Has anyone figured out what causes the keyboard to stop working in messaging?
I can hit the first letter, and the keyboard will bring up predictions for what I press, but it won't enter any text into the field.
To fix it, I have to back out of the conversation and return to it to be able to type again.
It does it with all keyboards, too.
I can't exactly figure out what causes it to stop working. Before I thought it was locking the phone in the middle of typing, because it would sometimes be unresponsive after unlocking, but I've also had it be fine after unlocking, and I've also had it stop responding in the middle of me typing.
That's the only issue I've had with AKOP, apart from the wifi toggling thing, but that's a well-known bug.

How can I stop the ROM from automatically downloading my apps. I would rather use TiBu.

I use Swiftkey X, but it will do it with the stock keyboard as well. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the keyboards, since they'll load up predictions for whichever button I press, but it just won't actually type in the field.

Ooo I think I know what you men because I too have had these little annoyances before.... what I did when it started was kill EVERYTHING LOL yes literally kill all of the things... I even killed the keyboard/sms process since that's where it happened most at. After doing that my issue was usually fixed. Also found that I just type too fast sometimes.... it honestly can b a number of things actually, let me know how this works.

Sucks to hear, i'll hold off for now
I have been getting a little less battery life with ics...but nothing shocking. I get anywhere from 10 to 16 hours...but that is the same I have been getting with gb...even froyo. I do a lot of reading and listening to the radio...and I always have a charger near by for those occasions when the battery gulps instead of sips.
OK, maybe a dumb question. Coming from GB Roms, I am use to "My Files". On this ROM where do I find something that works the same, or what is the format?

I have been getting random reboots very frequently when not using the phone. I don't think it's ROM related (liquid smooth) and I have tried multiple kernels, but I got a logcat to see if anybody here can give advise. Greatly appreciated!

Any apps hanging up causing the cpu to run at 99% or anything? Anything goofy like that? I know these are simple questions but just trying to get some more info to help.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. This phone is a replacement from Verizon (Mic stopped working) and I'm hoping it's not another defective device.
Anyways, not that I noticed. I have the rambar show on the recents window and it only says 92 mb of ram free. But the system actually says 868 free. I've never had this problem before

Lol ok. Wish I could help more but didn't see anything pressing in the logcat. It could be many things I guess but the other option is to install something like the new cleanrom without a custom kernel and see what you get. If there are still issues then I would suspect you have a bad device.
