Internal sdcard - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

OK I got a question I searched a bit and couldn't find the exact answer ... I've been wanting to wipe my internal sdcard since I've been flashing roms but afraid I'll have missed something and loss it forever ... I've got plenty of backups so I can always revert back but want to get rid of all the garbage that gets lost in the mix between flashing ROMs ... Besides my photos is there really anything important that's stored only on my internal sdcard??? Thanks for the help and hope this hasn't wasted forum space

Do you put your downloads and music on the internal or external sd? It depends if you put music etc on there as well. Also idk if 4.2 sdcard0 issue will matter to you or not.

I got my stuff saved on my external just was curious is there was anything system wise or anything specific that I'd need to backup or save

I think your good. Ive done it plenty of times with no issues, also you said you have plenty of back ups so I don't see any problems arising.

[Q] SD card issues on CM7

I am having lots of trouble with CM7.....I have a G2x runing Cm7.1.0.1....Everything works perfectly expect SD card....Whenever I use the camera to take a pic I can't get it...it takes the pics and then deletes it in one minute.....I can't even transfer files on the sd card cuz it gets deleted by CM7.HELP ME OUT GUYS!!!!!
That's weird, I'm on the exact same rom and don't have this problem. Does the SD card work when using in other phones or other roms or even in your computer? If it doesn't, your SD card is corrupted.

Works on HTC hd2 and my HTC wildfire but has this aerodynamic issue on my g2x only.

Try reflashing the ROM and see if that fixes the problem. That is usually the best fix for major problems like this. Just make sure to do some sort of back up first so you don't lose any data.

[Q] SD Card Settings

What is the best way to format your SD card for these blazes? I see a lot of mixed results when Google-ing.
I need to wipe pretty much everything, I know I have gremlins.
Well it was mentioned by a Dev that there might be one soon
Don't ask for eta, but he mentioned it so we can hope >.<

I did mine from my computer. Although someone told me this wasn't the best way. But no problems so far

I always format through CWM. I don't know which way is best though.

Rooting and insurance

Ok so if I root my phone, will I render my insurance useless? What benefits are there? As when I rooted my S2 I just found it very novel, but don't feel like I got to experience the full benefits of it.

For the average user there is no need for root to be honest. It is only when you really get into learning and modding will it be handy. But flashing custom roms has become the cool thing to do (can't wait for that to blow over) and you must have root to do it.

I'm primarily wanting to do it so that the phone believes my sd card is internal memory. Cheers for the reply

Looking at your device you should have native move apps to sd ability. Without the need for root.
Nope no apps install onto the external SD card on the S3, they partially install at the phones discretion, i have no control over it. So the internal memory fills exceptionally fast.

files NOT displaying from internal SD?

Running carbon ROM 1.3 my internal sdcard is not showing my anything that I have downloaded anymore on to my phone. The downloaded folder has disappeared and my music is not showing in es explorer. Though I can still play the files that I cant find, searches turn up negative when I connect it to the computer also. Only the external downloads show. Out of nowhere I'm now seeing Samsung apps and all share flees that weren't there before.
I also have multiple storages I can choose from that lead me to the same place ( see attached). I've used as rescan with no help coming from it. Any way i can go in and fix this error? Or even find out what's causing it?
Any help appreciated. Thanks much

People don't seem to be getting it. 4.2.2 ROMs will put a 0 folder on your internal SD. This will render everything outside of the folder "gone". Its all due to 4.2's multi user thing. I would recommend flashing back to 4.1.2, then using the file explorer move your music inside that 0 folder if you're planning on using 4.2.2 for any length of time. Either that or just start putting all your important stuff into your external then you don't have to worry about any of it

I'm aware of .2 and cwm /0 issue. The thing is this was not there before. This just started today. Been on the ROM for a while and this happened out nowhere. There was never anything more than SD card /0. Now unknown files are displaying and familiar files have disappeared. I'll try regardless though

Are there still issues with large micro sdcards with exFAT formatting in ASOP based ROMs?
When I was reading the forum I heard someone complaining that it wasn't supported.

Do you have more information? What ROM are you running, has the ROM been updated recently? I can't really tell you what to do without more information.

Hopefully you have a recent back up of your sdcard...
Wipe/format the sdcard, and then put your files back on it...
