[AROMA][Flashable][Custom_ROMs][User_Request]Flashable Fonts :) - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Code:
#include
/*
* All fonts are owned by:
* Their respective legal owners :)
* and were created by:
* Those who created them! :p
* All credits go to them :)
* And, [user=4790568]@Rishik999[/user] for his idea, for the workaround.
*/
Requirements:
For flashing these zips, you require a minimum of 15 MB in your /system partition or 20 MB in your /data partition. Any one of these requirements fulfilled, you can flash the appropriate *.zip file. Note that this may increase upon the size of your requested font.
Any custom ROM. This works on MiniCM, CM, and CM10, AOKP, as these are the ROMs that I tested this on.
You can check whether you have the required free space in your /system or /data partition using this simple app.
Freespace: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.krikun.freespace
Click to collapse
Note: This might work on other devices too, but isn't tested. Try at your own risk.
Click to collapse

Instructions...
NOTE: CM10 users, and even CM9 users, might not have the required 15 MB free space in the /system partition. In such a case, you can delete some files which you don't want in the /system partition... Or, flash the "font_data.zip", which uses the /data partition.
NOTE: CM9/CM10 users who have any memory increasing script installed, this might not work for you! Please use the "font_system.zip" until I figure out a workaround. Suggestions are welcome. Most probably, I will be making a separate zip for it!
1. If you have 15 MB free space in your /system partition:
Flash the "font_system.zip"
Click to collapse
2. If you have less than 15 MB free space in your /system partition, but, have at least 20 MB free space in your /data partition:
Flash the "font_data.zip"
Click to collapse
P.S.: In rare cases, you will find, the font_stock.zip included. Those, are flashable only in stock ROMs of HTC Explorer.

How do I request for a flashable font zip???
If you need a flashable zip for any other font, please reply to the thread, and make sure you add the following info:
1. Full name of font.
2. Device on which it can be found (if any...)
3. Link to the font (if possible... it will help you getting the fonts faster...)
4. That's it.

Just sharing a more easier way I found a few days ago which involves no flashing..
Download the app Font Installer (attached) and install it
Fire it up and u can download whatever font u want and preview and apply it.
Or u can download the attached Choco Cooky or MaryDale font and apply it that way also through the app ..

There got the fonts on mediafire
http://www.mediafire.com/?dtd5mtz0jil37ai
Haven't personally tried the MaryDale font but im using the choco cooky
THANKS

You can use any method

AFAIK, I had trouble finding the Choco Cooky font, in the Font Changer.apk, and, I haven't yet tried the Marydale font
And, as I said, you can use any method, whichever you feel is simpler.

P.S. Flashable ZIP for Stock ROM, and Stock based ROMs coming up
Will test on stock ROM myself...
Need testers for other ROMs like Ateeq ROM and Nextgen ROM.

ya that's why i uploaded the fonts ..
Just go to the Local Tab in the app and choose one of the .TTF file i uploaded
And reboot for changes to take place
i think it wont take up that much of space in internal memory
and btw
vineethraj i learnt how to root my phone through your blog! so thanks for that bro! :highfive:

Choco Cooky Fonts for Stock ROM
NOTE: I have tested this with both de-odexed, and odexed versions of Stock ROM 1.43.720.2. You are free to test with other stock based ROMs and report

Instructions:
If you are having an odexed ROM:
You need a minimum of 20 MB free space in your /system partition, which no stock odexed ROM has. Hence, you can download the following attachment and flash it normally.
stock_system_cleaner: View attachment stock_system_cleaner.zip
Click to collapse
WARNING!!! It removes Gmail, Maps, and almost every ringtone.
1. Flash "stock_system_cleaner.zip".
2. Flash "choco_cooky_stock.zip".
3. Reboot.
Click to collapse
If you are having a de-odexed ROM, and you are sure that you have at least 20 MB free space in your /system partition:
1. Flash "choco_cooky_stock.zip".
2. Reboot
Click to collapse
Known Issues:
1. The "Shortcuts & Clock" widget's Clock doesn't change to Choco Cooky This is not a problem of the fonts package. I think an editing of the .apk is required
Help with the .apk file would be appreciated

Factory reset, flash Rom, don't reboot, flash system_font.zip, and boot your device.
And, do let me know if it works, (or doesn't in any unfortunate chance) and try to get a logcat if possible I know its not a "development" related issue, but a logcat might just help :fingers-crossed:

Hi Manoo,
Thanks for sharing, always good to see addons, tweaks and new ROMs.
Nevertheless, some questions:
Isn't this just a set of apk's? Why use the whole RC7u1 script for this?
Also, what did you change in the following components (they are all different than the ones included in RC7u1):
boot.img
superuser.apk
su
I don't think any of these new apk's need other boot.img, superuser or su, right?
Regards,
Nika.
Idd, I think nikagl is right, what does boot.img and su.apk do there?
Also you should do the following stuff to make this post more attractive:
1. Add tags [ADDON] or [MOD] to the title. like: [ADDON][CRANIUM] - Manoo's addon for Cranium v7 -
2. Use some formatting for your post, like this:

Hi,
Here is the modded apk.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kcogmix32evozui/No_banners_Lollipop_n9005_TheTAMAS.zip?dl=0
I use only dark background pics so thats I made it white transparent.
About dial tone you need to change touch_ripple.ogg from SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
You can do it simple with Zip or Rar. No need to decompile (I think).

transfer to PC open with winrar and change the touch_ripple.ogg with yours.

But the latter part regarding rar/zip didn't.. It force crashes the Contacts app
Please check the attachments
The zip contains the modified apk and the related ogg file
Fyki, I don't know how true it is-I read on XDA long time ago that the sound files are present in the phone apk and not the contacts apk
I tried changing the files at that time too-it gave force crash too..
The reason why I'm still hopeful is because I reckon that zip/rar may not be the right way to do so.. :fingers-crossed:

Just a question, what is the method for reverting back to Echoe Rom v23 default dialer with full image? I have yours now which I really prefer, but I would like to toggle back just to compare the difference. Than you.
Just extract LegacyInCallUI.apk from your ROM's zip and replace in phone with correct permissions.

[Q] Hey guys, I need some advice please

What is the best way to decompile Apks? Is apk tool the best option? As i feel like it's a complicated tool.......
And is there any way to decompile Apks and edit xmls on android without using a computer?
Another think is that i am thinking about making some kind of rom for our device, so just want to know the basics for doing this(making a flashable zip - modifying SystemUI - Framework).....
My rom is not going to be such a huge development because i am still a starter,so i am thinking about making a rom that contains all of the awesome things that other developers made ........
It will be based on one of the custom roms available, and for now, this is what i think it will contain(Xperia Z3 Apps by strayder~007,smart social camera, working sound enhancements, one of the cool frameworks,Xperia lollipop firmware Icons already included........etc).......
You should know that I will never use any of the ports that others made without their permission.....
Please let me know your opinion!! Don't read and just leave without replying......
If anyone wants to help me, let me know, i will start building my rom after 17 /6......
But i need your help starting from know......
The first step is knowing how make a flashable zip right?

1) Best way to decompile apk files is to decompile them using Advanced APK Tools (this tool is specially made for Xperia software)
2) To make ROM you need
* Rooted Device with CWM installed.
* Build Version of the Deodexed Stock Backup / base ROM should be same as build version of your Device.
* Deodexed Stock System / Any base ROM
* You can edit SystemUI.apk, Home.apk, framework.jar, framework_res.apk,build.prop,settings.apk other system apps and files, Media Folder, Bootanimation.zip file, you can add more apps and animation and tones etc and what else you want to... depends upon your creativity.
* Tools Required : Advanced APK Tools(java should be installed to use this tool) , Photoshop, BootAnimation Creator, Notepad++, Windows Image Re-sizer, 7-Zip etc.
* Meta-INF folder which you can get from any existing ROM, boot.img which you can get from CWM backup of your device.
* Firmware ftf file and Wmshua Tool for in case you get wrong with your device.
* Permission from the OP of the Threads from where you get the Raw Material and also give Credits to them.

Nice guid tho. But to get the best you've to restart twrp once. thats why it isnt covering the side bar.
I tried many times ... Restarting twrp after applying themes... But it didnt worked for me ??
Anyone tried these with The latest twrp i.e, 3.1.0 ?

Its working for me with the latest TWRP 3.1.1 on my Sony Xperia XZ.
The only annoying little thing for me is the ad on the bottom inside the app, but I can live with it lol.
