Have you already root your device yet?

Just repeatly push vol down until the blue light under your xperia J glowed.
Then you'll get your CWM menu appear on your Jlo screen.

First off, your question should be in the General Section.
For CWM Recovery, you'll need the installer provided by the porter of CWM for G3.
And like the post above me says, to get into Recovery, it's Power+Volume Up+Volume Down+Home.

-Remove and insert the battery...
-press volume down first n keep pressing it
-now without leaving the volume down key press power button until the device starts...

If u can't access botloader then flash recovery by this method!
That recovery had that prob from beginning so its not you only way to get the recovery to go through vol up and power which will lead you to that screan which has options about fast boot and bootliader you'll find an option for recovery there that's the access to recovery

Try it without back cover, you can press buttons very easy.
And by the way, I have too a problem with this recovery: when I do a backup of sd-ext fs ext4, the recovery saves it as ext3, and when restore it it's ext3 instead of ext4. Any ideea about this, the latest cwm recovery 5.0.2.8 it's not mounting an ext4 sd-ext.

Just turn off and try to boot into recovery mode with combinations of volume +/ volume - / power button. After, wait sony logo apears and click again in these three button combinations. If you have rooted your phone, try to install a custom recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696987.

The key combination is " Volume - " and "Power" pressed together. but before that you need to flash a custom recovery.
As soon as you press this combination, SONY logo will appear and device will vibrate, leave the keys at this point.

Custom Recovery FAIL!(not booting)

At the sim card slot, there should be a yellow button. Did you try pressing that and turning it on again?

Then is your phone detectable in your PC? Did you have USB debugging turned on in developer options in phone settings before?

If your device responds when connected for charging then you can repair your device using the guide given in the following thread, or else you have to consult Sony Service Center.
