[Q] [Question] It's the Semaphore [Kernel] 2.4.0 xxJW1 Fully Compatible With...

Hi, first of all, thank you all for the work you do here and so invaluable assistance to users like me.
My question is this:
I have a GT I9000 SGS GingerBread XWJVZ v2.3.6 Open EUR [kernel semaphore v2.1.1]
Can i upgrade the kernel version to 2.4.0 or is reserved to JW1?
From what I read in the post (in which I can not now ask this question) is reserved for GingerBread not for the particular version, but if you were kind enough to confirm I'd appreciate it.
Much improvement over the v2.1.1 with which I am very happy?

my i5800

hi guys im a UK based gt-i5800 user currently using a custom rom and kernel.
im just wondering where can i locate the original 2.1 eclair kernel and rom from this fone.
i know it sounds crazy going back to eclair but i just wanna start from scratch.
can you guys please tell me what the UK rom and kernel were for oct 2010 please and also links to the specific files if possible.
i have tried searching through the website and even found roms on sammobile.com but they all confuse me. any help is much appreciated

All stock ROMs come with stock kernels. I believe the version you need is I5800XXJK1, because that is the latest XX version of eclair (I have also installed it once and the local product region in build.prop was GB). There is a tool on sammobile which will tell you does this version fits your smartphone, so first check out there.

Kerne: 2.6.35.7-I9000BOJV9-CL404614

Build: GINGERBREAD.BOJV9
I'd like to flash my smartphone to ICS 4.0 but I didn't find a suitable CF-Root ...
May someone help me to find a suitabel version or can someone tell me how to get to suitable version?

I'm not really sure ... there are so many.

Your Build has the ending JV9. Thats a modified build for Telekom. Your phone has a Telekom boot animation, i guess? Your baseband has the ending JVO. So you should use CF Root with ending "JVO" which compatible with most regions.
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVO-v3.2-CWM3RFS should work fine.
Just search for this in threat i posted.

Just bought a good second hand xoom and i would like it returned to its original stock rom.
It has the following currently installed
Android version 4.04
Kernal version 2.6.39.4-cyanogenmod [email protected]#1
Cyanogenmod version 9-201201419-snapshot-wingray
Build number Imm76d
Any help would be appreciated please.
