why would you need to reset your binary counter when you haven't rooted ?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
i have flashed my phone with jelly bean now needs to take phone to service center
if it was stock JB (from samfirmware.com) your counter is still at 0.
just check it by going to download mode again - if you cannot check it most probably they will not be able either ;p
act stupid on them and they will accept
Yeah, act stupid ,thats enough those fools think youre a poor noob who dosent know the abcd of android

Use odin 1.87 instead of 1.85
Run odin as admin and flash a stock rom, a gb rom is preferable..
one more thing. u posted in the wrong forum. shud be in Q&A
Ok ty lots!

I do not want to make you panic but seeing that screenshot makes me think about me sending the phone to service like 2 month ago because my phone was bricked - same symptom - stuck in factoryfs.img flashing .... there are tons of threads in Q&A section how to handle this, look there pls. But like I said do not panic, it does mean anything .....
stuck at factoryfs is tottaly different thing, and wat i see here OP facing issue is just connection error.
Do this
-uninstall kies
-Reboot PC
-Install just driver from my signature
-you can use any odin 1.85/87/3.* watever you want, i do always use 1.85, but really it doesn't make difference
-change USB, preferably direct to motherboard(back side PC), dont use any extension cable for USB connection
-Close any antivirus running
-And make sure you are in download mode before proceeding
Aww, been expected that when i fail flashing for 1st time. Thanks for the help, will update as soon as i found a solution.
Anyway would the mod please move this to Q & A. ^^

I guess he will not be able to use mobile odin since he will not be able to boot into system.
Are you able to enter recovery/cwm? If not, I would be really thinking of brick. Reading the signs (like KIES uninstalled, tried a lot of time, stucking in factoryfs.img flash state) it appears EXACTLY the same like for me 2 months ago. There were other thoughts (unfortunately did not work for me cause I superbricked the phone and Samsung repaired it for free) like:
1) reinstall KIES or drivers for SGN
2) try different cable
3) try different PC if possible
4) use PIT file
5) even repartitioning was suggested (careful - read posts in Q&A)
6) custom kernel
This is just what I remember - PLS try to find proper threads/posts in Q&A section for details and exact step
P.S. Do not give it up. Try all possible.
Even the phone was bricked I was able to remove yellow triangle using the JIG so it was put in original/official kernel state .....
Ty all anyway I give up trying, send to a local shop for repair before approach Samsung centre ^^

I would at least try to remove yellow triangle to prevent Samsung from charging you for the repair.
Hi!
I have a GT-B5512 Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos and i just flashed it with Odin and now want to send it in to Samsung. Will they be able to tell i have rooted my phone before? Thanks.
I'm pretty sure they'll see it if you send it in rooted - just un-root it for now and redo it when it comes back

? I thought the root is gone when I just flashed with Odin a new Rom. Aint that right?
U r right when u flash through odin ur root will go..but the custom bin counter will show 1 so make it 0 by using galaxy tool box app..otherwise ur warranty will not b there..

God damn it. I just did the entire process and yes it shows 0 on custom binary count now. But I didnt check if it showed 1 before clearing. So it wasnt that much fun. But probably it was 1 before, right?
Anyway. Thank you VERY MUCH. I wouldnt want to loose the chance for a brand new phone because of a stupid number saved somewhere deep in the jungle of my phone memory.
What I liked very much that i had to root my phone again in order to be able to disguise the fact it is rooted. Its like committing a crime to conceal a crime. Very criminal!
Anyway. What do I do now? Do I have to flash through Odin again to get rid of the root? Because it is still rooted now, right?
u just flash the unroot.zip using following link it works for b5512..no need to flash through odin if u flash through odin then ur custom bin counter will change again.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25140479

OMG that message I got 30 minutes too late. I just flashed with Odin again. But I thought flashing a original Samsung stock Rom is perfectly legal. Isnt it? Also they can figure out easily that I flashed a ROM because the phone is from Greece and came with a Greek keyboard and a greek ROM. I had to flash a European ROM in order to be able to write in normal letters on the keyboard. I dont even have the original ROM any more and its not on the Internet either. So...
Don't you think its fine if I just send it in like it is now? Unrooted with a original Samsung stock ROM?
thanks! i hit the thanks button as well

thanks but not on the list. I think the name of the greek ROM ends with XXKL8. I will call in at Samsung as soon as its business hours and ask them again about it. But I know a Polish guy who asked Polish Samsung about the same thing and he got the answer that flashing a original Samsung ROM does NOT void the warranty.
just do the unrooting process.above...then there you go ...your phone is not rooted now..
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 X from koodo and I was wondering if I can just straight up update my phone the way it is now through Samsung Kies when the JellyBean update arrives for my device in April? I have no custom roms NOR have I flashed anything on this device as far as I am concerned. The only thing I've done after rooting my phone is download root required apps on Google Play and APK files off the internet. I know for a fact that my root would disappear and I'm not concerned with that, since I don't want my phone to be rooted anymore anyways. So i figured I can hit two birds with one stone if I was able to update my phone and get rid of my root in the process. What's stopping me is that I have read that updating through kies while rooted can brick your phone. Or does that only happen if you have custom roms installed?
Don't you already have a thread about this?

HI GUYs, it's me again.
Now we know we have Germany android 4.2.2 official
but the baseband version isn't our own country's
but i still wanna flash it to my phone without losing warranty
so..
is it possible if any developers change the baseband version of this stock ROM, without rooting or cwm and without further modification? like, only change the baseband version of the ROM and then make it look like my own country's ROM (the samsung guy only checks your root state and baseband version if i'm right) so if any awesome developer would make it possible, then it's beneficial to everyone who wanna flash the ROM, but don't wanna lose warranty)
so...
is it able to:
1) Change the baseband version without bricking or further modifying?
thanks
I think its possible but its hard stuff cause u have to change the radio.
And if u not 100% sure what u doing u will brick ur phone.

thanks i dunno why i always think too much about failing the flashing process ==" though i successfully used odin 5 times
wish me good luck, im always very nervous about odin
Look at this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658809
I don't know if it is a problem to flash a baseband from a 4.1.2 rom to 4.2.2??
But I think you lost your warrenty because it is a modification. Normaly there is no 4.2.2 rom for your country Samsung know your provider knows, so when you have a problem with the device an send it to repair, people know that there isnt't a 4.2.2 rom available but you have - maybe they don't accept the warrenty. So wait for 4.2.2 or have fun!
I w8 CyanoGenmod... now is in beta (If u have time try it)... U can flash 4.2.2 Deoxed is very cool FAST! (Flash is easy with odion no risk )

Flashing anything gives goes up and you have that bad fear that slows your heartbeat that it will fail or screw up. My phone memory is getting full and needs air to breath. Im baldly waiting for 4.2.2 to come for the None NFC version.
I'll load it with games then

Seems like nobody can figure out how to downgrade after the 4.3 update so the question is has anybody completely wiped a smartphone and loaded an os from scratch if so would this be a way to bypass the downgrade also I recently messed up my phone trying to downgrade and was able to go into Kies give model and serial number in emergency recovery even though Kies wouldn't connect and it downloaded and flashed my phone back like nothing happened although it updated to 4.4.2 would there be away to hack Kies and tell it what os to use instead of it downloading and installing? If so we could revert to stock 4.2
